My wife and I needed to get away so we came to Gananoque, when we got here last night we really wanted Chinese food. The only place left open in town was The Island Chinese and Thai Restaurant, which turned out to be awesome. We got the dinner for two, which included chicken balls, chicken fried rice, two eg rolls, and chicken stir fried vegetables. The chicken balls were huge, because of the actual size of the chicken pieces, my wife and I were very impressed, and they tasted great too. The egg rolls also were a good size and were just the right level of crispiness Everything about our meal was great, the flavours were great too. We really enjoyed our meal last night and the left overs tonight :)

We liked it well enough and like that they actually deliver. We ordered pork fried rice, beef & broccoli, and chicken balls, and everything arrived to us pretty quickly and hot/fresh. We did find it a bit on the bland side and our sweet & sour sauce for the chicken balls was kinda watery. Would eat there again but it’s not my fave Chinese food.

Everything tasted good, but I was underwhelmed overall. I had lemon chicken and I was amazed at the huge pieces until I realize it was 3/4 breading. The chicken itself was a thin sliver of chicken coated with an inch thick layer of breading. Also had wontons in peanut sauce. The sauce was delicious, but the wontons were soggy and almost slimy. Everything was reasonably priced, and not bad...just not great either. Personal preference will play a role in whether you like it or not.

Horrible food, indian taste in thai food! Honey garlic spare ribs and yellow shrimp curry! Frozen spring roll! We had to return spare ribs as it was very sweet in taste! and yellow shrimp curry had raw turmeric taste! Very disappointed. Pad thai noodles was also below average!

Currently the best Chinese food in town by far! The handmade egg rolls are killer. I got the impression they make everything there because they also told us the wontons in the soup were also handmade on site. We we will be back for sure.

Inedible. Wouldn't feed it to my dog, let alone my kids. "Chicken balls" were like golf balls, rice was tasteless and veg was frozen quality, not fresh. Forgot items in my order. Guy who answered the phone and took my order was a tad rude. What a dumpster fire for $36 for 2. Hard pass.

Most profound language came out of the service man on the phone when i called with a complaint and then turned the phones off! I was sworn at and called names with no prevail. There is now another fee owed to another restaurant due to their inability to cancel an anorder. I would not recommend the food or service to anyone, especially with a family! If the service is taken to any complaints as it was me, then you will be appalled! Apparently the locals do not get treated like the tourists and its disgusting!

We had take out about 3 weeks ago and everything was excellent. I've had Chinese food several times in my life and find it generally bland. But this had lots of flavour and everything was super fresh. We will order again.

Food was pleasant and hot. Nothing to complain about. Only one other couple was there and it was dead quiet. Could use some atmosphere, perhaps some cultural music. I suppose decor is not a priority as they may not expect to be there long term. Prices average, not expensive for this type of food. A lot of people came in for takeaway.

I love almonds and ordered almond soo guy (crispy chicken) and almond beef broccoli for take out. Amazing! I feel like this is the only crispy chicken i want to ever eat now.

Terrible business. After waiting an hour for our food, they called to say delivery was unavailable. We canceled the order and ordered from another store for the exact same thing. These guys showed up and pretended to be the second restaurant that we had called. They charged us for all the food plus $12 for 4 spring rolls that we never ordered. The second restaurant we ordered from showed up 10 minutes later. We did not accept the food because we were under the impression they had already made the delivery... We called The Island Chinese and Thai to complain and they were extremely disrespectful and cursed out my family. Very disgusted. We have lived here our whole lives and will never order here again.

Best Chinese food in Gan. Hot, fresh, not greasy. Crisp vegetables, great spring rolls. Chicken balls were 85% chicken. Chicken fried rice had giant chunks of chicken and egg in it, yum. Absolutely delicious, will visit again.

My family must order some soup and egg rolls with each take out order! We have tried all soups, wonton soup, hot sour soup, Tom Yum Soup, Mushroom Egg Drop soup....all very authentic flavor!
