Wow ! It was a perfect and beautiful experience at Riva restaurant. We didn’t take any reservation in advance so we waited 20 minutes to get a table but that was fine because we walked around before coming back. The decor is refine and cozy. All the staff was respectful and smiley. Our waitress was amazing, she was patient and explained well the specials. The bread as the appetizer is a MUST! Our rib steak was so juicy and “à point”! Wow. And the vegetables were perfectly cooked (they grow it locally which is great!). Plus, we didn’t wait long for the meals ! For being myself a waitress, I rate this restaurant 5 for their service and their food !:)

Beautiful decor but the food really struggles to compare. Service was just okay. Drinks were expensive, paid $16 for iced tea as the server did not tell me they charged by the tiny glass and O drank a lot of it waiting for my entree to be remade. I really wanted to love it but just didn't.

Sat in the bar, had a couple of drinks, shared a plate of pasta and the best Caprese salad ever!! Classy but laid back, really fun staff. Great halfway stop on the way to/from Montreal. (We stayed overnight at the Hotel next door.)

An elegant, classy restaurant in the town centre of Gananoque featuring a primarily Italian menu. I had the bufala pizza, which I enjoyed. The ice cream (vanilla & mint with chocolate pieces) was not so impressive to me. Good service. Looks like a nice place for a special date or a group celebration. My family and I were passing through as tourists and were warmly welcomed. Recommend that you make reservations.

The best Italian food I've had in a long, long, time. It has two huge fireplaces, the old stone century home brought back to life. The decore is rustic ski lodge meets sheak Italian. The staff is very friendly, the service was great. If you are in Gananoque you have to eat here.

This place was amazing. The patio with fountain looked lovely, but we sat inside because it was sunset and we were worried about mosquitoes! Our server was Mitch and he was fantastic. The food was wonderful - we had the caprese & cozze apps and I had the trout (to die for) and my hubby had the special pasta Vongole. The tiramisu for dessert was also fabulous! Overall, a great dining experience. Not cheap, but worth it for a nice night out!

Great dining. We thought this place would be expensive but it's very reasonable for the quality of food and service. I'd say it was the best place to dine in Gananoque. One thing that I could never understand it why restaurants serve chlorinated tap water... Even dressing it up I a fancy bottle. A carbon water filter would be a great investment to remove chlorine (basically javex) from the water or even adding non carbonated bottled water to the menu like Disante or Aquafina.

It always was our favorite place since its opening a few years ago offering elegant classic Italian dining reasonably priced. However it’s now quite different. The current menu disappointingly only offers a limited choice of traditional gourmet Italian dishes other than a large selection of pizzas. My veal scaloppini, (the only veal dish left on the menu) was skimpy, undercooked, and very disappointing. Definitely sub standard for this type of establishment. If you like elegant pizza dining, it’s the place for you. Prices however, would need to be more aligned with, (even high end), pizza type restaurants.

Easily my favourite restaurant in town. Our servers have all been friendly and attentive. We often show up ten minutes early for our reservation with the intention of sitting at the bar for a drink, but we are almost always seated right away anyways. I’m a bit of a picky eater but I always manage to find something I like and it is always great. We had a lamb ravioli special once that was especially magnificent. Wish we could go more often.

Reservations were full, however they found room with a short wait for a table for four. To start we had the calamari with salad. The calamari was on the salty side, but very good. Mixed green salad was excellent. Bread loaf with garlic butter dip, and balsamic/olive oil dip was a show stopper. For the main, grilled rib eye was cooked perfectly. For the pasta dish, our waiter suggested the bacon carbonara. It was so full of flavour, that it had us considering taking one to go. Their thin crust pizza was also very good.The interior was modern yet had a rustic charm highlighted by the brick walls in the lounge area. Overall was an excellent experience, the service was great and the pricing was fair. We will be back.

Riva is overpriced.Plate of pasta $29.00. When asked if there were rolls. Waiter said additional costs. Nice building but that's where it ends. Sorry not worth it for a mediocre plate of pasta. Menu was extremely limited and frankly boring.

We went here for dinner and were amazed by the good taste of the meals. Their homemade bread (appetizer) is delicious! It was served warm and the crust was so crunchy! Also the pasta (chicken) and ricotta gnocchi were tasty. The patio outside was nice. We would have liked to hear some Italian music in the background though instead of just regular music. Also, it took a long time for the food to be served (both appetizer and main dinner). Prices were higher than an average restaurant. In the end, we liked this restaurant thanks to it's good tasting food.

The soup of the day today was cream of asparagus, and it was so so so good. #happytastebuds They know how to do pizza well, so you can’t go wrong with that choice. Risotto? No no. That’s all I’ll say. Abby was our server, and she was an absolute sweetie pie! Overall, it was a good night.

A nice jem! Food: good portion size and taste. Caesar salad was great! The bread was pretty good. The steak was a little on the bland side and came out warm not hot. But it was tasty. Pasta carbarnara was good and tasty but not hearty for the price. Service: the service was ok. It was good but at the end we waited 15 min for the server to come back and give us our bill. The only two dings were the steak and service. But this is one of the better places to eat.

We went to Riva for the first time last night. The renovations are spectacular. Rooms are filled with light and warmth. The outside invites you in and when inside, your gaze is invited out to the courtyard and the river. The fireplaces took the chill off the early fall weather. The service was prompt, attentive, thoughtful. The menu was varied and inviting. The meal was perfect: fresh salads lightly dressed, lamb shanks where the meat fell off the bone, pasta al dente, choice of portion sizes, pacing that allowed time to enjoy and converse and still get to the theatre on time. Perhaps most extraordinary: my elderly father-in-law felt faint toward the end of the meal. The staff couldn't have been kinder, more solicitous or more helpful. We were very moved by their attentive and sensible care. We will go back at the first opportunity.

Hit and miss. Been there a dozen times. Most of the time it has been either good or great. Today was not one of those days. Slow service and food was not as good as usual. Can think of two other times we had bad service one of those times there were white crystals in the bottom of my wife's wine and they tried to say it happens sometimes... Only time I've seen that is in home brew. Food has been good all other times. Update: Was back again this week, was exceptionally good. Only issue was the person I was with said the chicken although edible was slightly dry. After mentioning it they offered both us free desert and also did not charge up for coffees we had with it. New spring menu came out this week, give it a try.

Beautiful building, bad food. We ordered gnocchi with mushrooms and fusilli with artichokes, but it seems the cook though that adding an equal amount of salt was a good idea. Unpalatable. Service was lacking. We had to ask for water three times after emptying our glasses. Save your time and money and go somewhere else.

So much to say about this restaurent! If you are considering going there, please do yourself a favor, don't go! Grab some popey's or even some Tim's. I think Riva should be the benchmark of mediocrity itself. I rather have roadkill instead of their food. I eat at high end/fast food/pubs everywhere since i m on the road also review bunch of places! As soon as i get there i was welcomed to wait few minutes before i was seated, it is a hip place, i didnt realize i was in an italian restaurent, i start sweating thinking about another disappointing experience. I love honest and good italian food, but what i had was nothing italian i requested an IPA and ordered the pollo alla cacciatora expecting the drama of the love affaire between the peperoncino and the dried tomato! 30 min later i got what looks to me more like an open heart surgery on a burrito. A mountain of undercooked beans, 4 cherry tomato, roquet salad (which gave a bitterness to the mayhem happening in that plate), 2 pieces of roasted chicken and no parsley. yes you heard me RIVA reinvented italian cuisine and decided that roquet salad is better than parsley on their chicken! What a desaster and shame! No bread was offered i asked the waiter and he said that i wasnt the first to request complementary bread, they only sell a supposingly delicious expensive bread! Anyway if you love expensive italian burritos visit RIVA! I mentionned to the waiter that i was going to review the restaurent and he said that service isnt best today they have younger staff to serve you their over priced chicken roast! The waiter was nice but the staff should never dog on their place of work, and complain to the client. Very disappointed, i left hungry left the beans on the plate!

I took my spouse to Riva for dinner as he had never been - he order a pasta dish and realized upon tasting it that he didn't like the cheese that was incorporated into it. Our server at the end of our meal asked if everything was okay and he informed the server he had made a mistake and didn't realize the cheese would be so strong. Our server asked him if he wanted another dish or anything else instead, to which my spouse declined. When we received our bill the server had taken the dish off - we were both so impressed and thought that this gesture was thoughtful and kind. I made a reservation well in advance, more than a week ago, for Saturday August 7th for a group of 12 who were in Ganaoque for a weekend. Our reservation was on the patio and I was told it was a covered patio which we were good with. I called Saturday around 11am to ask if they would be able to fit us inside as the previous night on another patio the mosquitos were unbearable. Was told no but again was told the patio was covered so I kept the reservation. I received a call from Riva around 6pm (our reservation was at 8pm) to tell me due to weather they were cancelling our reservation. Not very happy with that. As a group we decided to head there anyway to see if there was anything as the weather turned nice again. Not sure if it was the owner but he was the rudest person we have ever met. We could see people eating on the patio and they also had a table of 10 set up for a reservation and still room to accommodate us but he flatly refused. He basically made it clear he did not care what we thought. I can't write a review on the food and I never will due to our treatment from them but I will let anyone know that if they are looking for good service and treatment then steer clear of Riva Restaurant.

Sad to say but had a very dissapointing meal last night at Riva. I went with my son and husband and chose to order a pasta dish. In the past I have been pleased but not lastnight. It was VERY salty and lacked in any real flavour. Some ingredients were missing from plate so lacked any chef style flavour, For the price you pay, you expect to be wowed. Our meal, with tip was $170 , and DEEFINITELY not worth it. When asked by host how the meal was,my husband did tell him about our concerns, and it was clear that the head chef has changed and that he smokes because if he had tasted the meal or had good taxte buds, before leaving the kitchen, I would hope he would have stopped it from going to the table. Have been long time customers, but after spending that amount of money and getting a meal that even most of the food chain restaurants would have been embarrassed by, I have to say it will be a long time before we come again.

Visited the day after things re-opened, it was great! 1. The food was SO good! Even though things had just re-opened, the food was just amazing. 2. Outdoor patio ambience is so adorable! SPACIOUS, really pretty and comfortable. Felt amazing to eat at a restaurant after so long. In comparison to the other patios that were on the street, none of the other patios in the area had such a cute patio like this place. 3. Staff were really friendly and great to chat with. 4. Covid protocols were in place. Everything was clean and very safe. The bathroom is spotless and really nice. Next time I visit Gananoque I will definitely return to this restaurant. Highly recommend this place.

This is really a gem in Gananoque (as a small city)! We tried the "Pollo" pizza and "vitello scallopini" and we were thrilled by the taste of both. I can claim that the food quality and the restaurant service are comparable to those of the best high end italian ones in Toronto. I tried the peach prosecco drink too, and it was marvelous. Also, you won't be disappointed by ordering their in-house baked bread with balsamic vinaigrette and olive oil. There is one issue with the restaurant though, and that's the lineup! Be there early or you may need to stay in the line up for an hour easily.

My family use to own the Golden Apple before it was sold and Riva was built. They have done an AMAZING job. Looks fabulous and they have kept the original to mesh with their awesome new fresh style. The food is mainly pastas and pizza and others are specialized for anyone who likes to have something that may be different. Took my wife on our anniversary. Splendid meal and ambiance. Make sure to make a reservation. If not you will just need to wait in the busy summer months. We sat inside. They have a beautiful patio in the back of the building away from the busy road. There is also a bar in the area that use to be the parlor. The kitchen is visible when you walk in and can see everything getting made. So happy to see the place redone and I wish the owners nothing but the best.

Would not recommend this restaurant! We sat for 2 hours waiting after we ordered our food and watched 8 people get served who came in long after us. When we requested to see the Manager we had someone come out who did not say she was the manager and when we questioned her as to why other people were being served there food before us she proceeded to raise her voice at us and blame it on the one salad appetizer that was ordered even though we ordered our meals at the same time as the salad was ordered. When we did get the meals they were not worth the price you pay.

We live locally and this is one of the few upscale dining options available in Gananoque. The food is straightforward and well presented, the staff is professional and the ambiance is what you would expect based upon the prices which are steep for the area but not for what you get. If you are from a major center and are used to having a finer dining experience when you go out then you will feel right at home here and if you don't, then the staff will go over and above to make sure that you do. We arrived with no reservation Oct 15th in hopes a grabbing a casual bite on the bar side. I immediately proceeded inside to use the facilities while my hubby waited for a table. Upon my return I found out that the hostess wouldn't seat my hubby but seated the people behind us at the bar and told him we would have to wait. He also had to deal with her "face" as I had quickly walked past her to the washroom. This is not the first time we have felt judged in this establishment. The hostess/manager has frequently been less than friendly which is a complete shame. If she knew who we are and who we are connected to, I'm sure she would quickly change her mind. But that is not the point. Everyone deserves to be greeted well and with respect.

I was here for dinner with a couple of girlfriends. As requested, we were seated outside on the patio. The patio was spacious and decorated with pixie lights as darkness grew. We had dinner here on Sunday, 8 July 2018. What a stunning place this is. The inside is absolutely gorgeous, but we were blessed to be able to sit on the patio. It is equally as gorgeous as the inside — so lovely and we love being outdoors. Our server was amazing ... informative, made great recommendations, attentive, efficient and personable. We had muscles and Caesar sale as appetizers. Both were excellent. Two of us had the rib steak entree and the other had pasta. All meals were excellent. The bottle of Shiraz was also extremely good. My only regret is not getting our servers name to tell management how awesome he is.

My husband and I went here last year, and really enjoyed it!! The food was great, the service was wonderful. Everyone was so friendly. We ate on the patio and it was absolutely beautiful with the little water fall in the middle. Very classy. Highly recommend if you’re in the gan area for a visit!

Excellent service, fantastic food, amazing gardens, and, delightful patio. This is the "must eat here" place when in Gananoque. Patio has only a few tables which helps keep it quiet, but may make it difficult to seat groups of 5 or more. However, the interior is nicely decorated and provides a very welcoming atmosphere. Great dining experience from start to finish!

My husband and I had a delicious meal at Riva last evening….we both had a pasta dish and a squid starter….good portions and very tasty! Our check-in took a few minutes because of all the Covid regulations but the service was good and our waitress was very attentive. My main concern was that our waitress was wearing her mask incorrectly under her nose and then frequently was adjusting her mask….this is a “no-no” during these Covid times. As a patron, I don’t feel that I should have to confront this when I am out for a fine dining meal or any meal for that matter. This is an issue that should be addressed by the restaurant management staff please. Overall we had a lovely dinner and will recommend this restaurant to our friends.

Excellent service from first stepping into the restaurant for a birthday celebration. Quiet first open Monday of the season. Enjoyed perfectly cooked and well presented 12 oz rib eye steaks, lamb and trout dishes each with their own sides. Absolutely delicious. Started with (garlic) bread and caesar salads..and finished with 4 unique desserts. Expensive but worth every dollar. Will definitely return for another memorable special occasion.

Dinner at Riva last evening was lackluster. We generally enjoy traveling from Clayton to Gan to visit Riva but something is missing. I ordered the calamari appetizer….it has extremely bland and the tiny bit of sauce that I was given lasted for only a few dips. Frankly it could have come from the french fryer at McDonalds. My wife had the lobster bisque and there was no lobster and not even lobster flavor; just a bland pinkish cup of liquid. The house white wine has served in a micro-tumbler and the 5 ounce portion seemed more like 2 ounces. Our main dish was very good and the large pasta portion was excellent. Service was sparse and somewhat terse with a distinct lack of friendliness. All in all a $150+ meal was pretty disappointing.

We had previously been to this beautiful restaurant and had enjoyed it a great deal. We decided with all the changes to life we wanted to enjoy an evening with our friends and decided take our friends to Riva. The service was not great, in fact we commented that the waiter who filled our water glasses was much more pleasant than the waiter we had. He never introduced himself, was abrupt with responses and it appeared like he was in a rush to get our order and move on. He never asked if we wanted to start with appetizers but instead said are your ready to order. We ordered the appetizer board which was minimal for price of it. My husband did the best with his choice of meal. His was cooked perfectly and looked amazing. Our friend ordered the fish feature which the calamari was burnt and rubbery but edible he said. My meal was the pasta feature which was overcooked pasta to start and served luke warm. As an Italian who loves fresh buffalo mozzarella, I was shocked to see a huge ball of it served at fridge temperature placed on top of my pasta dish. I have had this dish at home and in Italy, normally the mozzarella is cut up and melting. Needless to say, I sent over half my dish back to the kitchen. The waiter asked if I wanted a box, I replied no but he never questioned if there was any problem with it. The forth member of our party ordered the other pasta dish but had to ask for parmigiana and pepper as it was never offered to any of us and it came after a long wait. Not once did the waiter come to the table to ask if everything was ok or did we require anything else. Dessert went the same way. Waiter never asked if we wanted a coffee/specialty coffee with our desserts. Two of us ordered the same thing and we were very disappointed while the other two who ordered the gelato were happy. Our apple tart was served cold (to the point of almost feeling like it had been taken out of the freezer and not warmed up at all). We used a knife to cut it. Waiter brought our bill never asked if we enjoyed our meals or if there any issues just handed us our bill and walked away. Considering the cost of the evening and with Covid affecting a lot of restaurants I think we will stay in Kingston and support one of local restaurants the next time we venture out. It was a very disappointing evening other than the great company.

I have been tothe restaurant a number of times and have always had great service and amazing food. Unfortunately, this was not the case last Saturday night. Our group of eight had reservations for 5:30pm. (We all have seasons tickets for the playhouse.) We arrived early and thought we could have a drink in the bar or on the patio. The hostess ( the chubby one) said we were too early and we would have to wait. She was extremely rude and had a real attitude as if we were imposing. We asked if we could go to the bar but she said it was full. We asked if we could at least use the washroom. She agreed we could use the facilities. On our way to the washroom we noticed that there were actual seats available at the bar. We ended up seating out on the front patio with no bar service and waited for our table. There is no reason to treat customers in such a terrible manner. We definitely will rethink our choice of dining options in the future.

Pasta and pizzas were great. Cheese cake and blueberry gelato were fantastic. Flourless chocolate... was meh. Highly recommend making reservations here when you visit or pass through.

Just an absolute great experience! From the minute we walked in to paying the bill - great! The menu selections are all very wonderful, something for everyone. Around our table dinner ranged from handmade seafood pasta to perfectly made gnocchi, to my deliciously made pan-seared fresh walleye. You could tell that everything was made with love - from the wonderful seasoning of each dish to the beautiful presentation of each plate. There was not a speck left on anyone's plate! Then dessert - the cheesecake was creamy and delicate, the mousse was light and fluffy and absolutely full of flavour. The specialty coffees were made hot and delicious. As you might see, we enjoyed our night at Rivas... You will too. You will not regret stopping by.

Is more like 3.5 stars. 3.5 for service and 3 for food. Homemade bread is delicious...but takes 15 min( u have to pay for it). Pasta i s decent but for 26$ ( better be f...g covered in gold). Chicken it was 2 lil chicken thighs. Again 26 $, it was tasty but even by Toronto standart we get a whole Cornish hen for that price. I worked in Many Michelin stars restaurants in my 25 years career as a chef and while this might be the best place around they have come back to earth and price accordingly. And Pizza, is decent, but far from traditional. Again, we will revisit because all other places in this town were terrible . I think with a bit of work this place has the potential to live up to the hype.

I'm only giving this a 3 star because of the service. .....the food that is, once we finally were finally served was great. We arrived at 8pm without reservations. We were seated at the bar and decided to eat there. No one seemed to notice we had even arrived? We were not asked for our beverage order and the bartender seemed overwhelmed. The staff seemed overwhelmed. They all had grumpy faces and no one seemed to be having any fun. I believe we had 4 people serving us and if we wanted anything we would have ask as opposed to being asked. I was disappointed not in the food but rather the lack of service or friendliness.

Apps were great Calamari and fresh bread Pane Rustico were fresh and delish. Ordered 2 pizzas Affumicata and Funghi e Pancetta and we were very disappointed. The pizzas had no sauce and were extremely dry. The flavors didn't work well together and the dough too thin. After explaining it to the waitress her solution was to tell us that she'd let the chef know. At no time were we offered a replacement or even having the items removed from our bill..even tho she agreed completely. My family of 4 spent $120 on dinner we did not enjoy. We will not eat here again. We do not recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I decided to finally go try the Riva Restaurant here in Gananoque. The food was amazing and the staff were very friendly. Staff all working together and seemed very happy to be working there. Was not bothered during our meal either. Was asked how things were shorty after getting our food (10 min or so) then left to enjoy our supper. I had simply an amazing experience and highly recommend this place.

Visited restaurant Tuesday, July 17, 2018. Lovely patio and no wait. Chose the scallops special recommended by our server and my husband had a pizza. Appetizers were served promptly and were decent. We then waited close to 40 minutes for our entrees. Very disappointed with mine, the scallops special. It was 3 pan seared scallops over a potato hash. It was cold! I would have complained but after waiting 40 minutes I didn't bother. Probably would have ordered dessert but we'd been there long enough. Got the bill and learned that my 3 cold scallops over lukewarm potatoes was $30.

Hello, We have eaten at Rivas a number of times. We usually make a reservation because we live in Ottawa. Today, we had to go to Westport and took a chance that we might be able to have lunch at Rivas. My husband and I both ordered the Caesar Salad, which is normally very good. Today is was terrible and not made as in the past. The dressing was very bad and you could tell it was just store bought. It had some shaved bread pieces on top of the lettuce and the bacon was minced. In the past, this salad was great, it had light dressing, a couple of pieces of nice bacon, croutons and pieces of shaved Parmesan with a crusted piece of Parmesan or mozzarella and a small piece of bread. We also ordered the fries which were good. I know it's only a salad, however sometimes you just need to keep, what works. Please advise if you plan to have the previous Caesar salad on the menu. Unremarkable! Food was decent but not great. Service was poor. Maitre d seated us at a table in the blazing sun for dinner and when we asked for an alternate spot, he simply walked away. No response. Thankfully the waitress was pleasant. For the price, so not worth it. You would be better off at a local pub.

Menu is limited and relatively bland. I had the Beef Carpaccio which was tasteless and had 3 small flakes of parmesan which is likely why is was so disappointing. My companion had the Caesar salad which was good but the presentation was something you would expect from a cafeteria. The feature was cod which was very good. Nice, cozy restaurant with a primarily Italian menu. I visited with my boyfriend after searching for around gananoque for a while for a nice spot to have dinner. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. We sat near the indoor fireplace which was great coming in from the cold. The food was delicious. The pasta was perfectly cooked, not too overcooked. The pizza primavera was delicious with rich flavours. Great choice for a vegetarian. We were given a cute postcard when paying for the bill. It was a nice personal touch to this quaint small town but elegant restaurant

Overpriced, Overrated and a Fly in the Salad We’ve been to this restaurant a number of times, but this visit will most definitely be our last. We arrived on time and were seated in the bar area. Nice table and the restaurant not too busy. And that’s where the success of this dining experience ends. Server#1 was not familiar with the menu and was unable to answer any questions we had about the entrees. She even returned to our table asking which salad size we wanted but there wasn’t a size option on the lunch menu. The menu identified a beet salad, priced at $16.00. The service was extremely slow and when the appetizers finally arrived, there was a living fly sitting on top of the beet salad. When we brought it to the attention of surly Server#2, she was not overly concerned by this and said they’d bring another beet salad to the table. More waiting. I’ve never had a bug in any plated food at a restaurant and certainly wasn’t expecting that from this place. And more surprising to me was the apathetic attitude from the server. The broccoli soup was another appetizer that we ordered. The soup was delicious but the soup arrived without a spoon. Hmm.... The entrees were subpar. My Diablo pizza was not hot, toppings sparse and the tomato sauce on the pizza was cold. I guess that’s why the under cooked pizza was soggy. The fusilli pasta dish with artichokes was overcooked; the portion was small and not many artichokes included in this pasta dish. And salt seems to be this restaurant’s favourite seasoning. Thankfully the steak and frites was a pass. Foolishly we ordered dessert. We waited about 15 minutes for the dessert and basically we had ordered ice cream in a bowl. The service couldn’t have been worse. Another table of three had arrived at the exact same time as we had. These customers had a different server, ordered a bottle of wine with their lunch and were heading out the door as our main entrees were arriving at the table. I’m not sure what’s happened to this restaurant. Past visits have been so much better. The staff way more friendly and knowledgeable, food was served hot and in a timely fashion. Not anymore. Our bill arrived, nothing was said about the fly in the salad and we were charged for it - not very classy in my mind. At the very least, I had expected that complimentary desserts would have been offered. Didn’t happen. At one time this restaurant could demand its high price point but no longer. In future, I’ll save my money and go elsewhere.

Ordered the New Year's Eve meal for two - takeout due to the rules! I was hesitant because it was steak and I thought how can they do it? Well they sure could do it. The steak melted it was so tender and grilled to perfection. The potatoes were decadent. Well, we'll worth the price! Way to go in these tough times.

Unfriendly manager at the front who kept giving us reasons. We went for a date night and the only fish item was sold out. My wife is pescitarian and there wasn't really a choice. Zero empathy from the server. Guess the restaurants too big for their boots and does not want to entertain an average customer. Complimentary dessert was also not offered. My wife had to ask the manager for a complimentary dessert for which the reaction was "I was just about to offer you one!". Yeah right! Will not recommend and will not be going back.

We saw the reviews on this place and figured we could try the take-out option. Ohhhh it didn’t disappoint. First of all the gentleman at the front desk is a peach. So nice and professional. We ordered the pasta bolognese (gluten free since I have celiac disease) and a mushroom pizza. I don’t think I have ever had such a good bolognese sauce in my life. Ever. My husband’s pizza was the wrong order, he got the asparagus with mascarpone cheese pizza. He says it’s the happiest mistake that ever happened. Definitely in his top 3 pizzas. I definitely recommend this restaurant. It’s so beautiful too. I’m just sad it’s 300 km from my house, we would be going every week. Can’t wait to go back one day.

Went at your place on August 15th 2021....good start with carpaccio and the boulettes. Oh Boy so tasty. Although an 8oz of Cabernet cost 27$, it's a lot guys!! But the disaster was to come, the pepperoni pizza was so..nothing, no fresh basilic leaves, no pepper, no taste really. 2/10 for that. Wanted to take the spagetti scampi but at 8h PM they were put of 3 dishes....I experience that on tiny carabean islands...but at Riva's???!! Come on! So I took the Pasta Bolognese. Not good at all, no sauce, only pasta and meat. Not tasty at all and the pasta was overcooked, can you imagined! In a italien restaurant....I returned it. Had creme brûlée....mmm not top notch, was not solid enough, should go try the one at Purple House! Ask for a Brésilien Coffee, the waitress asked me if there was hot chocolate in it? What? Followed her to the bar, and the barmaid was looking on Google and said oh there is coco rhum in it...heu. no not at all. I just said no coffee for me and give me the bill so I can leave

It's an upscale/classy place with a nice outdoor patio area (perfect during the summer), a bar-style area, and a proper dining room. It's a 5-10 minute drive from the docks, so it's very convenient. They do fill up in the summertime, so either make reservations or have a few back-up options. Food was tasty and they do use quality ingredients, portion sizes are fairly regular, but prices are on the higher end.

Seafood stew and their Halibut special were so tasty. The carpaccio appetizer was exquisite. What a wonderful meal! Topped off with the butter pecan tart and mousse cake dessert - this restaurant absolutely deserves its reputation as offering good food. COVID experience: it felt safe and distancing standards were adhered to, but it felt wonderful to be in a restaurant with great atmosphere.

Fantastic service! - didn't have a reservation was seating in 25 minutes after having drinks at the bar. The bar service was great - they were busy but never forgot about us. We were seated - friendly service, fresh warm bread with oil/balsamic dip, best I ever had. We both ordered Rib Eye - they know how to cook med-rare and rare stks! Great sizes 3/4lbs. Veggies were seasonal and fantastic. Enjoyed the blackberry cheesecake and it was delish. My husband has a very short patience when it comes to hospitality and we were both very pleased. Next time we will sit outside :) And try the pasta!

I visited the Riva patio for lunch recently and had an excellent experience. The menu was varied and the food was very good. However, even more memorable was the impeccable service. The hostess and our server were friendly, prompt, and thoughtfully accommodating. It was clear that the restaurant was following all recommendations to keep customers safe and comfortable. Finally, I have to mention how beautifully kept the building and patio were. It would be a beautiful spot for a small wedding or event. Would absolutely return!

The food was acceptable but not exceptional. Why I'm giving it to such high ratings is actually for the ambience especially the fireplace. The service was great. Only one recommendation that you don't sit directly in front of the fireplace unless you're the type that is cold constantly. You'll be asking to move.
