Consistent quality food and service!

Good food. Good atmosphere. Friendly staff. My wife and I had an early dinner here during an overnight visit in Gananoque and this place was walking distance from the B&B that we were staying at. The service was quick and the food was hot and tasty. The interior was a little outdated but cozy. A fairly decent selection of Italian dishes on the menu. Would go back again.

The pizza at Maronis is definitely worth taking the Gananoque exit on the 401 if you want a change from the Service Centre offerings. Best pizza, Greek Salad along with a full Italian/Greek menu that won't disappoint. Family friendly, great service, 5 minutes off the highway. Don't take my word for it, see picture below..

Thank you for being open on a long weekend but, if you can't serve what is the purpose? as we walked in, waited 10min before some looked at our face. we sitdown and they totally forgot about us! no one took our order for 20-25 mins, as we waited 2 couple came in wanted to warn them about it but after another 10 min waiting we just walked out. . . Definently they did not deserve my business... i do like supporting local businesses but just went to KeG kingston. drove 25min from Gananoque to city but worth it.

Was there on Friday evening with my best friend to celebrate her birthday. We wanted to order take out. Three servers ignored us. We were the only East Indians at this restaurant. Three times my friend approached the three different servers. Each time she was told in a moment. And then ignored. We watched as the server cleared a table for two patrons who came in 15 mins after us. She had them seated within minutes and honored their request for a different table. They were white. After 30 minutes of waiting one lady told us to walk through a gate to the back of the kitchen to place an order. As we go through the gate a man was standing there smoking and he said to us, "Why are you here spying on me?" After seeing all the garbage at the back of the building and the encounter with the homeless guy we turned around and walked out. Couldn't believe it. This is a tourist area, and it seems that they are choosy in who they serve. We ended up at a Chinese take out down the street, where we were served immediately and given a cheery good night, enjoy your meal.

This was really good Italian food. I enjoyed my pasta meal. The dessert was homemade and you could taste the love in it. Good beer selection, although there is no cocktail menu. Just wine and beer, which is okay for me and my group.

After having our usual pizza place Greco’s closed for the weekend we tried this place for delivery. The medium pizza was 25$, was cold and tasted like CARDBOARD. I ate there years ago and boy has it even gone further down hill since. My advice is SKIP IT and use a frozen pizza because it has more flavour and price is better. Thumbs DOWN and never again ????????

Avoid this restaurant at all cost - I am giving « 1 » star cause it won’t take « 0 ». The food Is absolutely awful which is matching the waitress’ attitude! If you are still thinking to eat there (Monday night, as nothing else is opened) stick to the pizza or go to McDonald’s where you’ll fune better fries…!

The food and staff were decent. Went there because the patio is large with several tables that are covered. (It was raining) Covid precautions: (Can be improved) **I’m not a professional so this is subjective but things I noted were: The good: -Hand sanitizer at the entrance -Patio tables were well spaced -no shared condiments were given (salt,pepper ect...) The not so good: -Staff was not wearing a mask or shield -Shared Menus were used

If I could take the star back I would. Meals are expensive. Chicken parmesan was a frozen chicken breast that tasted like rubber and seasoned with a box of salt. Spagetti had sauce poured over the top that seamed like canned spagetti sauce. Spoke to some other people after who live in the town and they all said dont eat there. Not recommended

We are from out of town and decided to choose this place as there are not many patio places open right now. After we sat down 2 other tables sat down after us. We ordered, waited almost an hour for our food (breakfast let me add so it should not take that long) and watched the two tables receive their food before us and finish their food before we even left. Oh and And originally forgot about my orange juice. We asked for the bill. She waitress asked if we wanted our food and I declined. She came back to the table and said “ I’m so sorry the manger will be out to give you your bill”…. Waited another 5 minutes the manager never came. We left money for the orange juice and left. Needless to say.. we will not be returning to this town. Terrible service. (terrible service the evening before having dinner at another restaurant)

My wife and I visited on Canada Day after a trip to Boldt Castle on Gananoque Boat Lines. Not many people inside but we were intrigued by signs in their window indicating how good their pizza supposedly was. Seeing as we were hungry, how late it was (around 8 pm), and how we wanted to get on the road back to Ottawa, we caved and went in. We started with the calamari. While it was decent enough, the waitress never thought to bring us extra plates (even though she knew we were sharing). We both then had pizza, my wife deciding on the Moroni's special while I opted for the Hawaiian. While the latter was good, we were both taken aback when her pizza was found to contain ... wait for it ... breakfast sausage !!!! As a native Italian (first generation Canadian), I don't believe I have ever seen my wife so horrified. However, upon removing the sausage, the pizza was somewhat edible and, considering how late it was and how hungry we were, we simply finished and left. To top off the great meal, we both felt a bit sick afterwards on the way home. However, what goes around, comes around, I guess, since, despite paying and even tipping, we were never actually charged for our meal.

Sept1st 2019 around 9pm we walked in. They were moderate busy. We stayed 15 min for sit but they passed by nobody looked at our face. Then we decided to sit down and took menu for us.we waited another 15 min. Nobody looked us again than I stopped the waitress they said they are busy anything we order would of takes 45 min of-course we were pretty disappointed. Sorry for the one star review that is the reason why you are not getting rest of the stars.

First off, the food was out quickly. But that food was terrible. I'm sorry, no other way to put it. Neither of us could eat more than a few bites. Canned gravy, completely unseasoned everything, and the fish was overcooked to a degree it was literally inedible. It was incredibly tough and dry, when I did get it apart to try it, it didn't break down with chewing, just sort of flattened and became stringy. It was awful. Threw it all out.

Bartender Kimy was one of the best ones I've had Inawhile. She's one main reason we are going to go back. The food was amazing. And the live band was wonderful. From the moment my family stepped into this restaurant, the service was terrible. Our server took us to our table before even cleaning it so we had to watch as he took all the plates away. He didn't even clean our table. We waited for 15 minutes and finally had to ask another server for our menus because no one had given it to us yet. The food took ages to arrive. We weren't given knives or napkins, we had to ask for them. Our waitress was constantly complaining about her job giving us a negative attitude and mood. The food was horrendous, it tasted like someone made it in an EasyBake Oven. Finally, our bill came out to over $100. 0/10 would not reccomend.

Probably the best food in Gananoque. They pride themselves with the pizza and chicken souvlaki, and for a good reason. The food is amazing, the staff is very friendly and the prices are more than reasonable. I'm taking off a star because the tables and chairs on the outside court were more than outdated and some of them were straight out broken. If you just want good food for a good price, it's the place to go to.

Went for dinner on March 13th and ordered the steak special for $16.33. The steak was off in taste and I couldn't eat it. I think maybe it was either freezer burnt or had been thawed out for too long. The waitress was so apologetic and made a comment about some of the meat being left too long during close down. I just paid 80$ for 2 medium pizza and 13 wings ......it was a horrendous experience...the food is as bland as food could be... We were part of a large group of people taking over about one third of their capacity. There were no other patrons in the restaurant but service was still slow. Some people in our group had had their starters and into the main course before the had even taken our order. The food when it did come was marginal.

I found the pizza was better than the breaded fish, although the fish wasn't bad. The baclava was great, as was the coffee. Our waitress was new but attentive and friendly. Very expensive. Food wasn't bad. Portions are big but I ordered fettuccine Alfredo with baby shrimp, I got full sized shrimp with the tails still on. Was not impressed. Placed my order and had to give my name but when I arrived I had to tell the server my order in full. Then had to ask for cutlery for r and got 2 forks and 2 knives. Restaurant was clean and looked organized.

My friends and I were fooled by the name of the restaurant. Their menu is very similar to what you would find at Denny's. Food quality is horrible. I'm pretty sure it violates the building code as it only has an 1 person washroom for 50 seats.

My father and I ate at Moroni's while staying in the area for a fishing trip. It was his choice as there was something that greatly appealed to him. I found something on the menu. We were greeted by a hostess who I asked if we had to let them know before being seated outside. She seemed a bit snippy to me when she told me that she had to know if we wanted to eat. I might have read humour or teasing wrong though. The waitress we ended up getting was great though, very kind. We ordered our food on the patio and the main was fine. My father was a bit upset that his mashed potatoes were actually boiled potatoes. My french fries with my main were fine. We both enjoyed the fried onions that came with our entre (I had hamburger steak and he had liver and onions). The two big complaints came from the vegetables served with our meal. They were obviously frozen vegetables (a Mediterranean mix), over cooked and mushy. I love vegetable but I couldn't eat this and neither could my father. I did inform the waitress and she did agree with my assessment. I hope she told the cook (I wouldn't call them a chef). It is August in Ontario, our prime growing season and I still cannot understand WHY anyone would cook with frozen vegetables for a restaurant at this time of year. A final warning, if you drink the price of the pint of draft beer was excessive. My father ordered one and when I told him the price he almost choked at the end of the meal. In the end, the meal was 'fine' but could have been much better by a bit more attention to detail.

First time there. Visited at 9:30 and ordered a medium meat lovers pizza plus tomatoes with 'paper thin' crust, one of three cruat thickness options. The owner himself brought the pizza to our table. It was exactly as ordered. Fresh and plentiful toppings, delicious tasting. The decor was is a warm and rustic with modern accents. Impeccably clean.

So this is one of the places that could seat a large group of people on a Saturday night and for good reason. We decided to eat here because when you have a number of children who are hungry, you find the first place that can take you. We arrived at prime dinner time and the first thing that hit me was the smell of the place. It wasn't good. Secondly, the server was not the most courteous person. This was evident when we told her that there were food particles floating in the glass of water. It took 3 tries to get it right and by then we we're concerned about our food and we weren't disappointed. Thirdly, the pork souvlaki dish proved to a problem because it didn't taste like pork. When we complained they did fix it but not with a smile. Fourthly the 1 lb rib dinner was disappointing as the portion was clearly not 1 lb. Lastly, the other food offered is pretty generic and lacking any flavor. The one saving grace is the lamb shank as it had good flavor and taste, but it was overpriced by at least $6-7 dollars for a comparable meal in any major city that offered the same meal. So the reviews on TripAdvisor and here should be heeded if you want a good dining experience. I'm not the one to typically write bad reviews, but I had no choice but to save other families from going through the same unpleasant experience.

Came late; to be honest it took a while after being seated to get drinks and such, But once we were served by our waiter, he was VERY attentative despite the fact we were seated at the opposite end of the restaurant from where he was also serving. Food was good and came out in a timely manner. Chicken was surprisingly tender and well seasoned. Would recommend!

My family went here during the summer and it was great then. Food was wonderful, fast great service and price was good too. This was the reason for going back today. My son ordered the same meal that he got in the summer that he loved, Penne Carbonara and he asked for the kids menu and after the selection was spoke to him over the phone he said chicken fingers for his two year old. (i was there and heard my sons conversation) He went to pick it up and at the counter the cashier said it was what he ordered. After getting it home my son found he received his meal as ordered but his daughter had not. Hers was spaghetti instead. He called and spoke with Moroni's and immediately the gentleman got heated and yelled that he wasn't making another meal. My son tried to get him calmed down and again he started yelling. This was repeated. My son tried to make a solution in a calm and none rude, gentle way and i was proud of him for doing so even with a person on the other end yelling and getting angry. In the end my son just said have a nice day and hung up, and my grandaughter didnt get her fingers and fries. The meal was not good as it was before and the service was terrible. We will never be going back. We WILL be telling our friends and family. People dont realize that bad advertising gets spread much faster and noticed more than good its human nature. If he had of accommodated my son and just exchanged the meal to the fingers as was ordered, ( for it used to be the customer was always right policy) we might have given the place a second try thinking due to the good service it would be overlooked.. Word of mouth is a HUGE deal especially in a small tourist town..

Lunch time in Gananoque, ON on Sunday...should have been better. We failed to look at the reviews and basically chose restaurant based on fact that it categorizes itself as Moroni's Mediterranean's Ristorante and was opened for lunch . We assumed name would be representative of the quality of food offered. It was not. Save you money and seek elsewhere. Food is tasteless , uninspired and poorly presented. Maybe Sunday's is not a good time to be critical of this establishment. Wait staff and Hostess were courteous and show a brave face but the whole overall ambiance is depressing. From the frozen-to- fried calamari platter we knew what would follow might be worse. It was. Nothing appears to be fresh and food is just slapped on the plates. The Garlic bread which accompanied the messy Pasta dishes was basically Toast Bread cut in 4 triangular bits. For a ristorante (Italian) and for price paid please do not insult the dish with this mediocre add-on. Real bread please. Also: The Bolognese sauce on one of the Pasta dishes was a greek-syle sauce with nutmeg flavoring. Again: Not a Bolognese sauce at all.The pizza dish isn't any better. Dough did not feel fresh. The sausage used in the MORONI"S # 8 was a breakfast sausage , I was expecting real Italian sausage . Not the case, causing the flavor of the Pizza to be a disappointment . Gordon Ramsay (Kitchen Nightmares) would have a field day here.The potential is there (They have a great space), but the Kitchen needs assistance. In this day and age: This type of restaurant with this kind of menu should be better than this . Our feeling from all this is that Fast Food restaurants have better standards. Sorry Moroni's , but you have to take your food more seriously and stop insulting paying customers with these sub-standard offerings and prices.

Disappointed. Positives: clean restaurant. The food was tasty. I didn't have to waste money on tipping. Negatives: Lack of service. I took 10 minutes to get a waitress to our table to greet us and take drink orders. We should have left then. Complete lack of organization in the kitchen. There was 20 minutes between when my sons food arrived and my wife cancelled her order. It would have been nice if everyone could have eaten together. I like supporting small family businesses, but I won't be back to thos one.

The rudest and most dishonest server I have ever encountered. I was served 6 battered shrimp, which were small enough to eat in one bite. The last 2 I found were raw. We were not offered a full refund, and asked to see the manager, which we were refused. Another server that was not our one (brunette waitress) came ovonceer and called us cheap, threatened to call the police, said we had lied over the raw shrimp and did not apologise . She initially told us the manager would be 5 minutes, then 1 hour, then 2 hours. When the manager eventually came after 50 minutes as we asked another server, he told us that the waitress told him that we had eaten the food and tried to cheat the restaurant out of money, and had not showed him the raw food. We were then offered an apology by the manager as our plate had been kept and had visibly raw food on it (but not by the waitress) and happily paid half the price of that dish. Rest of food was ok, nothing special.

Service very poor, the waitress was in a hurry, after the order was placed we didnt see her again. Another waitress brought the food to the table she was to bring an extra plate which never came. We were never asked if we would like anything else also had to ask the guy clearing tables if he could get the waitress to bring the bill. I was literally just here to access the patio for breakfast, and was excited to see that the allowed dogs on the patio because there was someone with 2 dogs eating breakfast. When I tried to enter we were told that my dog was to big and that only small dogs were allowed. I have a 50lb Goldendoodle that just lays there and minds her business. But it was ok to have the 2 smaller dogs on the patio that were barking at every dog walking by. Thanks for nothing. On that note we found a great place where we were accepted.

The service was decent. The place looks cute with I why I gave it 2 stars. Other then that the food was disappointed.... Warm Cesare salad that had ranch instead of regular dressing was gross. The Philly Cheese steak was disceptive as well with gryo meat instead of beef... Just don't offer these things if you can't do it. Overall pretty gross meal for me and not exactly cheap.

The low ratings are baffling. We came on the weekend and got the specials which were very cheap in comparison. Steak and side for $12, bbq chicken and ribs with sides for $13. Service speed was ok, the staff were very nice. There was hand sanitizer and masks. The food was delicious. A little underseasoned but there were condiments available. The meat was cooked very well all around.

I discovered this place as i was coming back from a trip and decided to eat lunch and wanted to try local restaurants instead of a burger at a fast food place. First of all the location of this restaurant is impeccable i absolutely adored the decor and the rustic look. The bricks wall the small booths and the flooring were much to my surprise pleasing to the eye and felt an happy atmosphere. I ordered the Chicken Riganati which is basically grilled chicken served with rice, potatoes, and a salad. The portion size was preatty good. The Salad dare i say amazing but the rest of the food weren't up to the standard i was hoping for the price of it. The chicken was a little more salty to my taste, the rice felt dry and needed more flavor and the potatoes were lacking seasoning. The staff were very friendly and ask for all the necessary question. they were enthusiastic and helpful when asked for more details on the foods. All in all if the prices were cheaper and the food a bit better i feel like they would get even more clientele

Great services, but the food is mediocre at best. The burgers are inedible, pizza was flavorless, lasagna was a flavorless soupy mess and the fries have no seasoning. I would not return. Very disappointing meal. And we were there when it was quiet so no excuses for the kitchen to put out such poor meals. Also, all the parking is paid parking, in the Gananoque downtown core, and it is hard to find free spots.
