Absolutely amazing food. Planned a weekend in Fredericton and made the drive from Halifax. One of the biggest reasons for choosing Fredericton was The Schnitzel Parlour. Food and service are top notch. If you haven't been here yet, you should. You will wonder why you never visited before.

This family-run restaurant was a joy to visit. The food was amazing and the service was prompt and friendly. You sometimes have to park across the street due to the limited parking but it was well worth it. We both had schnitzels and they tasted the same as the ones I've had in Germany Austria and Hungary. The goulash was superb. We also finished off the evening with black forest cake that was made in the traditional fashion with real whipped cream. This restaurant is run out of the owner's house and you can tell there is a pride in providing authentic German food to this area. I would recommend this to anyone that would enjoy European home cooking.

Hands down! The.best.schnitzel.ever. We drove from Halifax, NS to come for supper. This is our second time here and we were not disappointed. This time we tried the Hunter, Hungarian, Bombay, onion and Chili Chocolate Schnitzels. They were all delicious. We will be coming back again, hopefully in the next few months. The atmosphere feels like you are coming over for a family dinner, but you don't have to do the dishes!

We had read about this place prior to going, so we had relatively high expectations, this amazing place did not disappoint. Service was great, food was amazing (I had Bombay Schnitzel, black Forest cake for dessert) portion size was definitely respectable. Atmosphere was very pleasant, felt cozy. My husband and I went to The Schnitzel Parlour yesterday for my birthday, and it was INCREDIBLE. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, the staff were friendly, and the schnitzel was the best I've ever had. Make sure to try the house dressing on your salad, which is chocolatey and delicious. We were too full for dessert at the end of our meal, but tried the truffles and they were amazing too. This is definitely our new favourite restaurant in Fredericton!

Phenomenal food and a lovely atmosphere where everything from the decor to the hosts/staff make you feel like a cherished guest in their home. I had the Oktoberfest Platter, and my onion schnitzel, sausage, spetzel, home fries and home made pretzel were divine. The rich dark chocolate of the hand made hot chocolate was decadently good, and cannot say enough about the dark chocolate and maple vinaigrette house dressing for their salad. Go. Don't think, go. Oh, and their truffles are so good they have a certificate of appreciation from Her Royal Highness, The Queen. I wish I had room or the willpower not to eat them way too soon... Or I would have been ordering some to go.

Great hidden jewel in Fredrickton! Beate took us without reservations. We even got the Stammtisch! The food was amazing and Uwe was a great host! Food was fresh, hot and very tasty! The homemade Torten ist a must to have after dinner. Too bad we are 11 hours away, otherwise this would be our regular restaurant.

This is an absolute gem of a restaurant in Fredericton that must be visited if you are here! Ordered the goulash for a starter, the Hunter Schnitzel for a main, and their lemon cake for a dessert. Each course was super tasty, cooked to perfection, and very well priced. I will definitely be coming back here in the near future! To avoid disappointment, you may want to make reservations before you go.

Loved this place! The beer was delicious, and I got the chili chocolate schnitzel which was also amazing. The atmosphere is really interesting and very homey. The owners and servers are absolutely lovely. The menu was special featuring an entire page to introduce the story of the restaurant and a word from the dogs! You will probably need a reservation to eat here.

I'm not too familiar with German cuisine, but I'm a huge fan of this place and the people who run it with such great pride and joy. Their schnitzels are the Porsches of tenderized lean meats. I am Japanese and view schnitzel as an elite level tonkatsu or my fave scallopine. I had it with peppercorn sauce which enhanced it even more. The portions are huge. Fantastic!

We ordered currywurst, and schnitzel with a chocolate cream sauce. It was served with a salad with your choice of dressing, but I would recommend the house chocolate vinaigrette. All dishes were excellent. Be sure to save room for dessert, because their cakes are made very well. We had a hazelnut cake, with a fantastic flavour, and texture. The atmosphere is very comfortable and inviting, like visiting someone's home for a meal, and the staff are friendly, helpful, and attentive.

Very generous portions with a delectable house salad to start. Seriously, the house dressing is so good I wish I could take it home and put it on everything. Talk to your server. Ask about the menu and what beer pairs with what dishes. Such a fantastic meal we can't wait to head back!

Stopped here on our drive from Toronto to Prince Edward Island, actually planned our drive around this dinner. We were not let down by the food or the service. We each had different schnitzel dishes. Our daughter has an empty leg and a love of chocolate, she also had the homemade hot chocolate and it was worth the wait for it to be made. Easiest description for me is "Everything you would expect from an Eastern European Schnitzel House!!" Can't wait to drive through Fredericton again, this restaurant will be at the top of our list.

So good I don’t even know where to begin! The food was great, in particular I loved their chocolate balsamic dip (served with bread) and their maple chocolate salad dressing. I bought a few bottles to take home! The place is absolutely adorable. Fun decor and a homey feel. However it was their service that really won me over! Everyone is so incredibly warm and genuine, I was absolutely blown away. They spent a lot of time chatting and getting to know us. And we called ahead to make a reservation and asked for dog friendly seating, so they set up this adorable little table for us right on the front porch. The dogs were spoiled with treats and fresh water! Hands down an incredible experience. Cannot recommend them enough

How have I gone so many years eating in Fredericton never having tried the Schnitzel Parlour?! The Schnitzel Parlour is an authentic German restaurant operating out of the ground floor of the owners’ house. The owners are a German couple who have lived in Fredericton for a number of years now. In addition to being general chefs, they are also chocolatiers, making various chocolate products year round. When you walk into the restaurant, you immediately feel welcome and that the dining experience is going to be special. Instead of a big room with tons of tables, the space involves several smaller rooms each with a few tables. On sitting down, you can browse the menu which includes a story about the owners and their pet dogs. Wanting the full German experience, I started with a stein of beer. This was served with bread and crackers accompanied by a chocolate olive tapenade and a chocolate balsamic dip. I’m not a fan of olives, but the chocolate balsamic was delightfully fruity and rich at the same time. As a starter, the meals came with a house salad: simple greens topped with the chocolate maple house dressing. Prior to this visit, I would have guessed that a chocolate maple salad dressing would not work at all. However, when you have expert chocolatiers in the kitchen, you can trust their judgment. The dressing tasted of chocolate without being sweet or heavy, it almost took on a balsamic quality which shone against the simple salad backdrop. For a main dish, I shared two entrees: bratwurst with curry sauce and pork schnitzel with sauerkraut. Every component of the entree was fantastic, from the sharp sauerkraut, the sweet and rich curry ketchup sauce, the hugely portioned meat, and the homemade buttery spaetzle. My one regret was not saving room for dessert, as I imagine the cakes are just as fantastic. The service was incredibly friendly and personable. On a Tuesday evening in early September, the restaurant was not full up, but I understand they are often full, so I’d recommend making a reservation. They are only open at dinner time, from 5-8, five days a week, so plan ahead if you want to visit. I can’t wait until my next trip back to Fredericton to visit this lovely restaurant again!
