Absolutely loved our date night at The Palate. I had the cod and my husband had the Korean noodle dish. The dishes were well thought through and everything was fresh. Had to knock a star off because their wine selection was mediocre. I would expect a restaurant at their range to offer better wine selection.

We are doing a Local Restaurant date night. And once again we were extremely impressed. Tried 3 appetizers and 2 mains. Did not disappoint. Ami, our service was attentive but not pushy. I definitely reccomend but may not return for a bit... because as I said we are sampling local restaurants.

So delicious I forgot to take a picture before eating! I had the classic breakfast and it was very well put together and the flavours were very balanced and the meal comes together nicely. I would highly recommend giving the palate a try if you are downtown and need some tasty food!

Went for dinner last night for the first time. Unfortunately it was only ok. I had the Korean fried chicken, the portions were very small and it was expensive. My boyfriend had the steak and it was very tough, not enjoyable at all an the shrimp skewer was very bland. The waitress could barely explain the specials, and one person in the party couldn't even chew through the steak and was still charged full price. We will not be returning.

We enjoyed lunch here today. My lobster roll de-constructed had fabulous flavour. My hubby had the stir-fry as there were not a ton of gluten-free options on the menu. His portion was a little small but he enjoyed the flavour. Our server was great!

Waitress was short and insincere when our order was wrong. She said it was her first brunch and that it was busy. We wanted to order dessert to go but she took so long to come back to the table that we needed to leave. I told her we would of ordered it but we haven't seen her in a while, so she left the table abruptly after putting the debit machine down quite firmly. She seemed very put out and had to tell us that she had to buy the the order that was wrong. The one star is for the service. This was the only time out of many visits that we were displeased. Great food, terrible service. I hope she gets better.

We stopped in for dinner on our way through Fredericton. We started with the charcuterie and cheese platter which was excellent. It had duck prosciutto, a selection of cheeses, jams and jellies, and some pickles. The "ham jam" was quite tasty. They have a good wine selection and a number of local craft beers on tap, which is always good to see. For mains, my wife had the swordfish special and I had the shrimp scampi. Unfortunately I found the scampi a bit disappointing. The shrimp and the pasta were both a touch overcooked. We split a slice of raspberry and rhubarb pie for dessert and it was pretty good. The décor and the art on the walls are fresh and lively but the floor could use refinishing. The restrooms were clean and well stocked but could use a coat of paint. The service was excellent. The prices were reasonable. Not a bad experience all in all, but with a few improvements, Palate could be fantastic.

Had a really awesome lunch here on a whim. Great value for the quantity and quality of food. Delicious seafood chowder! Service staff were a bit gruff and our food took a bit of time to come, but we werent in a hurry, so not a concern for us this time around.

I went there for lunch with a group of six. We had a reservation for six people. When we arrived on time, they gave us a table for four and improvised a couple of extra seats to make a very crowded table. When I pointed out that we wanted a table for six, the woman behind the counter whined (actually whined!) that it would make the restaurant too crowded. I ordered the seafood chowder. It was excessively salty. I sent it back and declined to have anything else. The place has a great reputation. I'm not quite sure why.

Great service and a nice ambiance. I went here for supper with my brother a couple of weeks ago. Overall, both of us really enjoyed it. The service was great and I enjoyed just sitting with a glass of wine inside. The Korean BBQ tacos as an appetizer were fantastic. Loaded with kimchi and expertly cooked beef, I would absolutely get them again. The pork tenderloin was a perfect dish. The tenderloin was cooked well and the sauce added a nice sweetness and tartness to the dish. The veggies were fresh and well seasoned, but the dish itself was a little too cool for my liking. If it had of been just a bit hotter when served, it would have also been perfect. Looking forward to going back and trying some of their other dishes.

This place was highly recommended by coworkers, so I decided to give it a try. The menu offered a great selection, and I ordered a cod sandwich while my husband had beans and sausage. He asked for the bun to not be buttered, and the server made sure of that (always appreciated when allergies and considered). But, we were not offered drinks and had to flag the server down to ask for tea and coffee, and we were at a table in the centre of the room, and every time the server passed, the knocked the empty chair at our table and the chair leg would hit my husband. The food was okay. The salad was great, but my sandwich had so much slaw on it that it was soggy before I could finish it, and he was disappointed with the beans. And when I went to use the washroom, I counted 5 spiders in the room (I'm a little afraid of spiders). I'd be willing to try again for supper instead of brunch, but overall, it wasn't a great experience.

Had one of our best meals of our east coast trip here. The salmon with lemon merengue was possibly my best salmon plate ever, and I love salmon. It was cooked to perfection and the hint of sweetness from the merengue was an excellent combination. I also tried the chowder which was very tasty. Service was quick and responsive. My waiter knew his beers very well which is a bonus. The location is prime, right on the main street. The actual building is a bit dated.

Ate here for dinner on our road trip with a party of four. We enjoyed our meals but some were better than others. The Korean sesame bowl was not balanced (too sweet). The shrimp scampi noodle dish was quite good. The chilli lime cod was the best dish of the night though. Good service and ambiance.

We were told by a local shop owner to go here for dinner. It was sooo good. My husband and I both had the salmon with Parmesan. He added the seafood chowder which he raved about and I had a side salad which was superb. We shared the sticky toffee cake and wished we had gotten our own. Great service by Vanessa. The server was very nice, and the place looked great but after that, don't bother. My sister and I stopped in for breakfast, we actually both ordered the same item from the menu, the ham eggs benedict. we waited 40 mins for our food, expecting something delicious. We were wrong. The hollandaise sauce was very pale and bland. The poached eggs were served on a slice of black forest ham and a piece of toast. Completely flavorless. The sweet potato hash was actually julienne sweet potatoes and white potatoes, which was probably the most tastiest thing on the plate. Waste of money and time. would not recommend this place for breakfast.

We arrived 5 minutes before closing time and they welcomed us in. The weekly special was breaded cod and without question was as good as we have had anywhere including some very high-end restaurants. For appetizers, the charcuterie board was yummy and it came with an interesting spiced jam, but had to knock a star off because the portion was a little smaller than expected, and not enough to go around for our party of 4. For mains, I highly recommend the steak! The salmon was quite good, and the cod was also excellent! For dessert, the key lime pie was yummy, and the coffee was good! The servers were nice and we got a table easily. Will be back!

The first time I ate here I wasnt sold but after my last visit...i love it! The sandwich and salad combo for lunch was everything I wanted and more for lunch. The promise of fresh local ingredients delivered on the flavour. It was so good I went back the very next day for the same meal!

I just had a lovely meal with my partner at The Palate and I must say, we were very impressed! The pasta was silky smooth, steak cooked to perfection, and the baked brie was unique and flavorful. The sticky toffee cake with caramel rum sauce at the end was the cherry on top. It blew my mind. Service was also fantastic.

Had high hopes based on some of the reviews, however the reception was lukewarm. The seafood chowder was tasty with tender chunks of various crustaceans but your typical thick cream base. I went for the cod for my main and it did not inspire... understeamed and coconut - cilantro broth bath was not working for me. "Weak" is the word that best describes my experience. I travel and eat out all the time and I am easy going on my reviews so I can only assume that they were simply having an "off night".

The atmosphere is really great. Not overly formal, but polo/button down short sleeve, casual dresses etc fits nicely. The food is SO good. Perfect sized portions and entrees that are far from basic but also easily enjoyed and appreciated. Their drink menu is full and varied. Perfect for a mom and dad date night. I think I've found my new favourite spot!

The Palate is one of my favourite spots for dinner in Fredericton. They always have delicious specials on offer and their wine menu is quite reasonably priced. The ambiance is just right.. Whether you're tucked in a private booth or sitting at the bar, the staff make you feel right at home and the buzz around the restaurant is electric. I would definitely recommend The Palate to anyone of my friends or family visiting from out of town (because I know all my townie friends already love this spot)!

I was there on a Saturday morning. It was fairly busy, but my friend and I were able to get a table easily. The service was decent, the waitresses helped eachother out. Though a little forgetful. I ordered no toast because I'm gluten intolerant, but it still came with toast, I had to send it back. If you are celiac, I might think twice, it be very vocal and forward about it and see that they can do. Otherwise the food was delicious. There wasn't too much but you feel like you get your money's worth. The home fries were just spiced French fries. Not that good, but the omelette was great.
