My favourite sushi place around here
First experience eating this type of food. Will be back
So fresh roll, and crispy tempra, at next time I will try sashimi. Absolutely I will be back.
Was impressed at their gluten free options, and the care they showed for my sisters allergy. The portions were small and the price high compared to what I'm used to from bigger cities, but I suppose the supply chain must be complicated in a small town like fredericton.
Food was delicious! Excellent presentation! Staff were very helpful making a selection cause everything looked good!
If you enjoy sushi, i do not recommend. Finding options without tempura or teriyaki sauce was challenging. As well, fish did not taste fresh, felt sick after my meal. Place didn't seem clean either. There are better options in Fredericton
Super yummy rolls, karaaga, and ice cream
Great sushi.
always enjoy the food
I always recommend trying the Charashi when going out for Japanese Sushi to validate if this is an ok versus fantastic sushi restaurant. This restaurant has fantastic sushi! Fresh sashimi, fresh wasabi & great rice. I recommend that you visit this place.
We went to Naru for a team lunch late April. There were 10 of us, so we booked a reservation (we booked the day before). When we got there, Naru was very accommodating to our large group :) We all ordered ramen and sushi. The food was delivered to us in under 30 minutes. The servers were wonderful and always filled our waters and cleared away the dirty dishes right immediately. The restaurant location and atmosphere was wonderful. Even with the 10 of us, the place still felt roomy. I highly recommend Naru if you are looking for Asian food in Fredericton!
The best sushi place in town , the prices are great !!!!
Lots of options. Not easy for a new sushi goer, but if you bring a friend that knows what they're doing, you'll have a good time.
Love Naru. My favorite sushi place.
Busy place. Great food. Always enjoy the food.
Really enjoyed the ambiance and the rolls were quite creative. It's clear that wa sho ku is alive and well at this establishment.
Great sushi!
So so so yummy!
They got our order wrong. After 1 hour and a half we get another wrong order. Sushi was mostly avocado wrapped in rice
Best sushi in New Brunswick ????
Delicious sushi, good value for the quality
Today I visited this restaurant with a friend. Overall my experience was very polar opposites depending on the category. For the food, it was really good and me and my friend ordered many different things. We will be trying the spicy crab pizza later today which hopefully tastes as good as it looks. When it came to the service, utterly terrible. One of the servers was working hard, we unfortunately had the other one that wasn’t putting any effort into pleasing her customers. Here are a few examples: Anytime we would say thank you for something, she would walk away without saying a word. No smiles. Never came down to see how we were doing, left us with our dirty plates for a long time and didn’t even bother clearing them until after we had left. Overall food was very good and the restaurant was clean, but the service was a huge let down.
amazing sushi place! super cute decor, make sure you make reservations in the summer though
Good sushi.
Food was great big selection and lots of pictures good pricing I'll be back
Amazing Sushi and comfortable atmosphere. Decent prices $7-15 a plate. The presentation of the plates are top notch. 5⭐
Nice atmosphere, friendly service, very accommodating and most importantly the Sushi was delicious! Super fresh, flavorful and didn't take too long to come out. Super pleased, will definitely be back!
This is the very first sushi place I have been to in the east coast and I must say, I really enjoy the food and service. The staff is very friendly, caring and respectful specially when it comes down to food allergies. I love the sushi and the combos that they have. I have been there only for lunch so far but it was soo good. The pricing is average but the quality, taste and uniqueness is awesome. I so would come here again and would most definitely recommend this place.
A large menu with lots of delicious options I haven't seen anywhere else! And the restaurant itself is beautifully decorated. Very much enjoyed it. ♡
Amazing experience. Fair price, good service, delicious food, cozy environment. To be fair, it was the first time I ever went to a Japanese restaurant or ate Japanese food. My wife and I were going to a different restaurant but it was full, so we decided to adventure at Naru's. Didn't regret! The staff was kindly and patient. The waitress even helped me practice a little of Japanese, she was so kind and amicable. I wish I could remember her name to give proper credits, but we were really impressed with her politeness. Staff in general looked happy and not rushed, that makes a huge difference in the environment. Food was delicious. We were impressed by the freshness and quality of the sushi and tempura. It's indescribable. It was an explosion of flavors. The environment was welcoming. There is a espavious coat hanger, and the tables have a decent size, they're not too small, not too big. There was soft piano music in the background and the place was quiet enough so you can easily have a conversation with your peers. Maybe my only wish to complete this amazing experience was to have traditional Japanese music playing in the background. All in all, we had a wonderful experience, and I certainly recommend this restaurant.
Good experience. Good food, always updating the menu with new things as well. The quality of the sushi and sashimi in particular were high
Really enjoyed their salmon and toro platter. Amazed at how inexpensive it is for the high cuts like toro. Will be back soon!! Edit: unfortunately consistency seems to be off here. We went a second time and looked forward to it but it ended up being pretty terrible. Fish did not taste good, avocado in my roll was not ripe enough, server messed up a lot. Probably won't go back again. Edit: went back with friends and they are back to their regular menu and food was great! Not sure what happened with the second visit but all seems good now.
Quite expensive, but the food is amazing and usually worth it.
Amazing, nothing tastes bad
Best calamari in town.
Good food and lunch menu. I enjoy the ramen and bento box special.
Great service, excellent quality of food. Staff is super helpful and attentive. We love Naru!
the best japanese food i’ve had anywhere in any city ever in my life. if i had to have a last meal i would go here
Classy japanese food. Very westernized
Positives: 1) A wide variety of food (sushi, rice, noodles, etc). 2) Sushi is made on the spot (aka, fresh!) Negatives: 1) A bit pricey 2) Location - downtown is pretty hard to get to during busy hours unfortunately.
The food is amazing and the atmosphere is great, but don't go inside if you expect to eat something cheap and fast. It takes time to prepare the food. Also, if not knowledgeable in Japanese cuisine, make sure you ask the waiter to explain what the food is. They have uncooked fish. I enjoyed it but it might be different for you. Also I wouldn't mind if they would add some traditional Japanese music in the background to make the atmosphere even better
Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Lunch is quite good value. Friendly service, very quick.
Excellent food, sauces were great, as were components. Service was decent, although a bit slow. Overall great experience.
Very nice place to eat... not the best Sushi I've had, but best in Fredericton!
This place is the reason I fell in love with sushi. Extremely clean awesome service and food is off the charts.
Food is great, service is good, prices can be a bit higher but you expect that for delicious food.
Best sushi
Beautiful atmosphere and amazing food.
Fish is not fresh..overpriced.. We got sick after eating there...
Has to be the best sushi ever. Had the mushroom maki and the spicy Miso chicken Maki with gyosa and was amazing. Service was next to none and very friendly staff. Definitely coming back!!
Fantastic environment, and they serve Soju (Only place I know you can get it in Fredericton)
Great vegetarian options and hospitable staff.
Good place for sushi but not quiet often busy with lot of customers.
I have gone to this restaurant numerous times and I thought it was OK. The food is decent but perhaps overpriced. The waitstaff has been friendly on every visit. And it's always been clean and child-friendly. Today the service was so slow we just left after waiting too long for our orders. I'm not even factoring in or complaining about the wait time to get seated either. After seating our party of two, it was 15 minutes to get menu's and a drink order in -- we had to flag the wait staff down! Once we placed our order for the lunch specials, we waited nearly another 45 minutes before walking out without receiving our orders. Other groups of people were seated and served in this time frame. If a Sushi place can't even manage to get customers looked after in a timely fashion, why should I trust that you can handle raw fish in a timely manner and not kill me? In short, I value my time and I'd think twice about going here if you have a strict budget on your time.
The food was great but we waited about 30 minutes for two plates of sushi. Other than that, everything was good.
Stopped in on a lark. Turned out to be the best sushi of the whole trip.
This and tomotachi are pretty good sushi for fredericton. While I've had better, I recently went to a top Vancouver sushi restaurant and was disappointed that despite a significant coat premium (a small sushi and sake plate cost 80$) the quality was not there. Anyway, new found respect for the old haunts. This is a consistent restaurant in a town that lacks consistently good food.
Great sushi and atmosphere at a very fair price!
Fredericton's best sushi hands down; nothing else to say. Yes the wait may be long but it is worth it. Atmosphere is nice and clean too!
Best sushi in new brunswick...travel from saint john just for a meal!
Excellent food and service
Delicious!! The Naru roll is a must. This is a unique sushi restaurant, the menu is full of creative sushi rolls and everything we had was delicious. They have a great variety of lunch specials for reasonable prices.
Walked in for a take out order at 9:45 (close at 10:00) greeted and told they were closed. (guests seated and eating) when I questioned them about closing at 10:00 I was told they were "closing early" terrible service.
Amazing sushi! Very fresh and fast service
Excellent sushi taste and fish quality. Size of maki was very large. Fairly expensive but can understand why. The roll selection was excellent and inventive in a way that makes sense. Sometimes too much rice in proportion to roll. Highly recommend.
Best place in Freddy - very accommodating to our young daughter.
Great place! Chef got your OG dishes, but also awesome fusion creations!
Great food and affordable prices.
Hands down only good sushi in town. Love this spot.
I had the teriyaki beef roll and vegetable tempura. Some of the best Japanese food in town!
Quite a lot of selection, good eats, good service!
Fantastic yet again!
Creative, fresh.
The most amazing sushi in town! Event the vegetarian/vegan sushi/meals are superb. I highly recommend Naru, they are the best restaurant in the city in my opinion.
I’m such a dumpling fan, they’ve gotta be one of my most favourite foods. That being said I’ll always go to Naru to get home made dumplings!
Just totally fantastic
Amazing. Food was wonderful. I highly recommend
First Class Sushi!!! Amazing Service!!!
My favourite place in town
Amazing food. Great service. Surprisingly large selection for Fredericton.
Good service, very lovely place, delicious food!
Was my first time here, love their sushi and atmosphere! I got the sushi and sashimi combo, my bf got the spicy combo. Prob for him was too spicy tho! I love their sashimi, it was so fresh and tasty! Just felt like a little bit too pricy... otherwise it would be a good Japanese restaurant in Fredericton for sure! Good location and friendly staffs!
Amazing Sushi! I got the spicy tuna and spicy salmon roll and it was simply amazing. You can tell the ingredients are of good quality. Service was fast and friendly.
Good quality food but very slow, very spotty service.
Was ok. The soy sauce was watered down
I cannot stress enough how much I love this restaurant. My roommate and I have been regulars here since September 2016; some weeks we'll eat here multiple days in a row because it's THAT good. Not only is the food high-quality, but there are a wide variety of things on the menu. If you don't like seafood or if you're a vegetarian, there are options for you as well - though I must admit, the only non-seafood thing I've tried is their miso pork (which is amazing!) The prices are astounding too. The lunch specials are the most worth it at $10-$15, since they contain 5 or 6 items on average and have pretty generous portions. If you go at later times of day it's a bit more expensive, but my roommate and I were able to get miso soup, maki, two orders of California rolls, and an order of takoyaki for $40 or $50. Given the quality and portions, that's extremely cost effective! I adore their staff; they're always courteous, polite, and prompt. This might also be a bit strange to say, but the restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere: paintings, tapestries, usually pretty good seating, and at certain times of day they even have lit candles at the tables (though I haven't seen this recently)! They play music through the shop too, but it's usually very soft and unintrusive - not to mention pleasant.
Very friendly staff. Wonderful food! I recommend the vegetable tempura and the the spicy tofu salad!
My favourite sushi spot in Fredericton. There are other sushi spots around with good product but Naru stands out. It's the little details, the tea is always just right, the miso is consistent and delicious, the Wasabi I don't know how they make it or what they're using for ingredients but it just turns out perfect. The rolls are tight and well proportioned. I don't know where they get their pickled ginger but it's the best I've had. Lastly, it can be expensive, but I usually stick to the lunch menu and with that selection it is very affordable.
Service was exceptionally slow. The male waiter was inattentive
The food never disappoints here. The waitresses are always nice, and the sushi is always fresh. I suggest to try other things too though, like the ramen and the rib bites, both delicious !
Great service, friendly staff, amazing food, good atmosphere. Loved it.
Friendly service, good food and large portions.
Loved it,
Excellent
It was okay. Not as good as I remembered it.
Amazing place to eat, worth the price.
Very clean environment and peaceful However the service is actually slower than u’d expect from a place like this Not enjoyable seeing the tables that come after u get their food first lol
Poor service, miso soup is super small, tge seaweed in the sushi was very chewy. I love sushi but I won't go back.
Some of the food are over-cooked. Occasionally the food do not taste like fresh enough
Good food, although sushi is overpriced compared to other places in town.
Great sushi, great service and great interior design
Absolutely delicious food! A bit expensive for supper because you want to try so many things, really great for lunch with their combo specials! Very good prices at lunch.
It's Good, I love the lunch combo
We were told that the fish is prenium but i have to say that the food taste exactly like all you can eat sushi places its way over price but the place is clean & the Service is good i will never come back here again it's not worth it.
This is great restaurant with amazing food, excellent service. I had the donkotsu ramen- the one bowl is enough to easily feed 1people and it was fantastic! The best in town! I have enjoyed several sushi items. It is great to try sushi and tempura so that you can come back at a future date to pick your favorites - everything I ate was very, very good. I loved it and would certainly recommend it to anybody. The service is very prompt and the waitress was very pleasant and polite - super service. Thank you
Nice place to eat and awesome food with very good service.
The food was excellent! As was the service :)
Honestly was disappointed in the quality of the sushi here. Especially considering how expensive it is. I hate leaving negative reviews. But the yam tempura roll was unedible
Pretty dang good sushi. Many different rolls to choose from and of the ones I tried, all were quite nice. As with anything in Fredericton though, the main drawback is the price. It is more expensive than what I would expect to pay for the same thing in Winnipeg, Toronto, or Montreal (and probably all of the larger cities in Canada). Still, I recommend it.
Really good sushi. Highly recommended.
The sushi is excellent and there are other options for people who do not like sushi. Lots of options on the sushi front as well, for people who don't like fish and vegetarians. The desserts are also excellent, especially green tea ice cream :)
The sushi was OK, the price was meh
Lunch specials are out of this World - such a good deal. If you're going on the weekend or evening, the prices are still pretty good but I don't believe they have specials. Prices are standard. My go to sushi joint.
We have been very pleased to order our favourite dishes here. Top quality products and culinary services! ☆☆☆☆☆
Very creative rolls and a HUGE selection.
Delicious sushi. The lunch specials are a great deal. If you like special rolls their Naru roll is amazing. Is a bit pricey from what I am used to.
I love this place. The lunch specials, particularly the tempura lunch special, are one of the best lunch deals in town. The staff are friendly and the owner, Jason, is a master of hospitality. The sushi is fresh and of excellent quality - try the Negi Toro Maki!
We didn't have a reservation and they made room for us. Service was mediocre but the food made the difference, amazing sushi! Definitely coming back
They forgot to put our order in, ended up not being able to eat
Great menu, wonderful ambiance and service. Highly recommend.
Yummy food, friendly staff, reasonably priced. Will be going back for sure.
Great food, not too expensive and the best green tea I’ve ever had. Friendly staff as well. Good show lads, good show!
If you love sushi you'll love Naru. Delicious and you have an option for take out. We did take out once and the food was just as delicious.
Good food!
Gem in the heart of downtown Fredericton. Fun spot to go with friends, get the sushi boat and sample some great rolls.
Always great food
What an amazing restaurant!! Great food, great people and great prices! You'll definitely see me there again!
the food was delicious! i got the tempura lunch special and it was the perfect amount of food.
Long waits but amazing sushi.
Been going here steady. Traveling alot let's me know good sushi. This is a great spot. Taco sunomono and spicy miso chicken with extra sauce and a side of sushi rice. Yummy
Wonderful Japanese food here with good service. Do ask for a pot of tea. Even Lunch platters are wholesome and have different diversity in them. Importantly, the place also has a good amount of Vegetarian and Gluten free options which were prepared well and tasted awesome with rich flavors.
Dinner
Very tasty sushi
Great sushi! But very expensive and not all you can eat.
Great experience! Sashimi were fresh and tasty, service was friendly and kind! Highly recommend.
Good food, nice service, not expensive. Outdoor tables are metal mesh. If you spill anything expect it to be on your pants.
Some of the best sushi I've ever had in Eastern Canada
My favorite sushi place in Fredericton. Often very crowded (as a quality establishment should be) but worth the wait for a table! A bit pricy if you eat as much suchi/sashimi as I do but decent for the average person.
Freddy's best Japanese restaurant.
The wait was really long but the sushi was great!
Tempura here has very good texture and taste. Elegance enviornment provide very relaxed food experience. Very recommended.
I've been to many Sushi restaurants in Canada; from West to East. This one has a diversified menu, but the price is outrageous. It's double of what I normally pay (on average) in Canada. The food wasn't bad, but certainly not worth the price. I don't recommend it for that very reason. Service was mediocre. The food was a little slow to come. Maybe it was busier than normal.
Had some foodie friends over and decided to order from this place. One of them use to make sushis for a living and is not easilly impressed. Well he had to work really hard to criticize the sushis from this place. Everyone really enjoyed the sushis and said it was amongs the best they had. The only small inconvenience I find is that I would like it to be easier to order quickly. I called wanting 60 pieces, not caring to choose which one. I still had to pick existing combos from the menu. It would be good if you could order a bit easier (without a menu) when you just want a mix of what the chef recommends. Will definitely reorder...
Naru is my favourite sushi place in Fredericton. I highly recommend it.
Nice place. Good atmosphere and food was good but it was slow.
Hands down best sushi in Fredericton
Everything is so good! The food is amazing and the staff are really nice. I come here every time I'm in Fredricton.
Good food but services is not always good
Everytime we visit Fredericton, we have to stop here. Out of all the sushi places we have tried, this place is our favourite. Their lunch boxes have something for everyone. Classic stuff to sumo rolls to tempora veg.
Great first time there
Best sushi in Fredericton!
Average sushi at above average prices. The rolls look better than they taste, the tofu is pretty bad. Friendly and accommodating staff.
Went there once and it was great. However, I'm from Ontario and I always go to All you can eat sushi restaurants which tastes exactly the same as at Nuru. I can't blame them for charging so much for sushi as they are an a la cart, but if Fredericton ever opened an all you an eat sushi, you can bet that I will never eat here for the price alone. I have rated it 4/5 mostly because of price. Food tastes just like at all you can eat sushi restaurant (which I like)
It's the spot to be right now...amazing food awesome drinks.
Excellent food and service.
Great service, delicious sushi, and well priced!
Very tasty with fantastic service
Very quick service. Seated on the spot. As soon as menus were close, the server came to take the order. The calamari tempura was excellent.
Cozy restaurant situated in downtown Fredericton, good food, big sushi selection, great customer service. I love the lunch combo menu!
An experience unlike any other. After waiting 15 minutes for a server, we were asked "what can I get you?" Before even a hello. We ate 4-5 rolls and before we could order more the kitchen was closed because they were out of rice. They did accept the reservation that walked in after this, however. We were made to pay the bill in full well before we had finished ordering dinner. I approached the chef who then told me that the rice cooker was now broken. Miserable server and asked to leave mid-dinner for various reasons... I will never step foot in here again.
This sushi was disappointing. Ordered a variety of special rolls hoping for some tasty sushi. Very disappointing as not a single roll had any flavour. And way overpriced. Charging 7.50 for a cali roll is highway robbery. Had high hopes for here but won't be back.
The sushi here is pretty good, but overpriced. Found the portions a bit small.
Sat outside on the terrace and enjoyed the food.
Amazing sushi at a great price!
Always fresh. Never a long wait.
Amazing tasty sushi, friendly staff, great atmosphere!
I came here for lunch while my wife was at a craft fair after having heard great things from my co-worker. I had the Takoyaki lunch special and a 6 piece Toro sashimi. Everything was presented beautifully ajd tasted every bit as good as it looked! The staff were very friendly and attentive. My whole experience was very smooth and enjoyable. I will definitely be back when I am Fredericton!!
Food is always amazing. The deep fried tofu wasn't anything special but everything else has been great. We've gotten different rolls and meals every time we are here (4 times) and it's always quick, friendly and tasty. Highly recommend.
World class
Service
Sushi tastes amazing, and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Docking a star for unnecessarily high prices, but other than that all good!
Rich and healthy food, kind and friendly
Serene atmosphere, good service and most of all great sushi! Their lunch specials are the best!
Excellent ramen and sushi!
My favourite Sushi place in fredericton my little ones too! Will not disappoint picture was taken in the dark you will not be disappointed
Dine in
Amazing quick service. Large menu to choose from. Very friendly and polite, and accommodating staff. Definitely eat here again
I absolutely love this place! Great food, good service, and friendly owners and staff The best sushi in Fredericton, and probably the province, hands down. The lunch specials are a fantastic deal, I highly recommend the tempura special
Fantastic. Went here with a group of 15 or so people. We all got our food within a very close time of one another. It's a bit pricier but well worth it.
Fantastic lunch options with very reasonable prices.
Great sushi at a premium price. Nice atmosphere.
Meal type
Amazing food and amazing customer service. All in all an amazing place to eat. I was very satisfied.
I'd rate this place 5 for Lunch, 4 for Dinner. The Lunch specials are a great price and the chef is fantastic. The wait staff is wonderful as well. Everything is served quickly with a smile. Dinner is still a nice experience, but it get a little pricey for the amount you get. It is definitely good quality, but it feels like you've overspent after Dinner.
Delicious food and really friendly service. I'll be back!
Food was amazing! Great atmosphere and service too!
One of the best food experiences I had while visiting Fredericton. Would definitely go again!
Really great sushi here. Try the Sumo Roll, one of the best creations I've tried. Tempurad banana and ice cream for dessert!
Amazing sushi. It can get very busy though.
Very much enjoyed my anniversary dinner at Naru Restaurant. Where we had the sushi sashimi dinner with a special Maki roll capped off with green tea ice cream.
Amazing! Inexpensive top-class sushi and japanese cuisine. Friendly service and comforting atmosphere, can't wait to get back to Canada JUST for this place!
Best ramen in town
Excellent quality and flavour. Beautiful presentation. If not ordering off the lunch specials menu be prepared to drop a few bucks. My lunch with 4 nigiris and 1 unagi roll with 1 Asahi beer (and 20% tip) was $48 CAD.
Friendly staff, quick service, and delicious food.
I've been here quite a few times and every time I go the service is fantastic and the food is delicious. It is absolutely my favourite place to get sushi in Fredericton!
Went for the lunch, the lunch menu was ok for the value. We also tried a special roll (soy potato roll). The presentation was amazing, however the sauce tasted like honey mustard. It feels that they are reinventing sushi with modern flavors, it did not work for me and my husband.
Great as always, excellent selection and some unique options.
Good choice on the menu.
Food is great
Good food and good atmosphere.
