Great location and food! I had a very good experiences myself but on top of that very comforting to know that they have great staff that help girls out in uncomfortable situations. My daughter and her friends went there last week and kept being approached by an intoxicated girl and guy at a table next to them asking them to come with them and asking them personal questions. She said they felt very uncomfortable and told their waiter Joe, who went out of his to make sure they would stop bothering them and were taken care off. Very comforting as father to know that their staff is not only amazing at doing their job but also take situations seriously and go above and beyond. Thank you Joe, we need more people like you!!!

I just ate at Gahan Riverside in Fredericton and it was amazing! I ordered the quesadilla and loved it! The homemade salsa paired perfectly with it and the spicy fries are to die for. The Raspberry sour was one of the best ciders I have had in a long time. The atmosphere at Gahan was great! Our server was very knowledgeable about the oysters and beer and made us feel right at home when serving us. Would recommend Gahan to anyone who is looking for a great bite to eat with great atmosphere!

A fun place to eat and drink with friends. Gahan House still suffers from working out the kinks though. Things like poor plate composition, too much oil in soup, and servers that don't bring you water often enough hinder this resturaunt. I still believe with work, Gahan House can become a go-to place.

A group of 7 found our way here on a busy Friday night a few weeks ago. Even without a reservation the staff at Gahan House were accommodating and soon had a perfect spot set up for us. We stayed for several hours and the service throughout was phenomenal.

Went to Gahan House Saturday night as it was the last day of Fredericton's Burger Battle. About a 30 minute wait to get in, which I expected. Staff was very accommodating to text us when a table was ready. My boyfriend and I each ordered the Burger Battle burger; I assume many people were. When our plates came, mine was dressed top to bottom in condiments - except there was NO BURGER on the bun (see photos). The server was quick to take it back and replace it, and exclaimed that the kitchen was embarrassed. My boyfriend began eating his and realized it was RED inside (not medium rare.....Red). Again, she took it back and expressed apology and said "we will take care of your beers tonight". We both had finished our first beer by this time and ordered a second - when the server outwardly asked me if she had said "we will cover your first round" or if she had said otherwise. I said there was no mention of "first round only".. I have eaten at Gahan house twice previously without incident, but we were very disappointed by several aspects of our visit this time. It's very important to me to support local downtown business and I expect more from this establishment.

Two things I want to rave about. 1. The hard root beer is amazing. It tastes like a good root beer, not too sweet. The alcohol is just a hint until the after taste. It packs a kick but is really nice to drink. If they sold it in growlers I would buy a ton of it. 2. The kids meal is a surprisingly good value. $8 for a generous portion of food, a drink with a lot of options (we got pineapple juice), and a full size dessert. The brownie skillet and ice cream here is the kids dessert! My son was super happy and loved his food. I had the Riverside burger. It was good. Not stark raving good, but good. Service was good, and the place is comfortable.

The food that we did get was tasty, and service was okay; however ordered ice tea none left. Ordered drumlets as an appie was told all sold out. Then when ordering desert the smore dish is not available so ordered a brownie with vanilla icecream. It arrived no ice cream. Apperanlty they were out. No notice prior to serving it and no discount granted on the check for getting only have the advertised dish. Was actually disapointed tonight.

Love to visit Gahan. We've been here a few times since moving to NB and it's always a great experience. They have a really nice food and drink menu that changes seasonally. Love trying their beers. Everything is reasonably priced. The decor is beautiful inside too. The servers are friendly but not overbearing.

This venue has changed hands a few times. Gahan has kept a great atmosphere. Have only been here a couple of times, but the staff have been great both times. Pleasant, helpful but not hovering the entire time. I always appreciate that. My only gripe would be that the food and drinks are slightly overpriced in my opinion. Compared to the competition in the area, I've noticed prices are generally $1-2 above average. Don't get me wrong, the food and drinks are swell. However, the quality, in my opinion does not warrant the higher prices. It's just something that always makes me second guess eating here. "Yeah the food's good, but I can go somewhere else and get essentially the same thing for less"... is how the thought process usually goes. Still a great experience overall.

Just ok. Had the buttered chicken, pretty lifeless. Beer was ok. Beet salad was perfect, worth the order. Sadly can't say the same for the aforementioned butter chicken, mostly sauce, chicken scarce. The ginger bread dessert was dry and lacking much flavour. I couldn't finish more than a quarter of it. Waitress was pleasant, but one would expect an attentive server to notice the unfinished dessert. She looked but made no mention. Verdict? OK for beer, go elsewhere for a meal.

One of Fredericton's best places to eat and sample beer. Amazing atmosphere and friendly staff. Menu is as advertised -- they are a legit gastro pub unlike many places who claim to be and just serve pub fare. The brown-bag fish and chips are some of the best I've ever had. For $15, this is a steal in my books. Highly recommended, especially for a date or special occasions.

Full credit for recognizing an issue and comping my meal. Nevertheless... Wait: at lunch, took 75mins to get my meal. Multiple tables who arrived later were served earlier. When questioned, staff said they asked to be rushed. So good luck getting your food in less than an hour if you aren't wearing a suit and don't feel so self-important enough to ask for a "rush". Food: Mediocre. $19 for a simple, unimaginative steak sandwich and onion rings upgrade. I guess you can charge that much but should you? Overall: luckily I don't live here so they have nothing to worry about but I'm not coming back. Not sure where the 4.9/5 as I write this comes from. Possibly I just had a bad one-off? Good luck!

Went to the Fredericton Gahan house after a long wait time at the snooty fox. Glad I went! This restaurant gave excellent service was offered to sit at the bar till a table was ready but the bearded gentleman behind the bar made us want to stay. Pleasant and very good for business, checked up on us frequently asking how the food was and if we wanted anything else to drink..even while the bar was full. He stepped up to the plate and definitely made me become a returning customer.

This is one of my favorite spots, the restaurant has a great vibe and the staff are very knowledgeable. Nice cozy and beautiful place for a date night or by yourself on a Sunday to plan out the week ahead. Great selection of in house beers. I had the back to basics burger. Was a hardy no frills burger. Enjoyed popping the cherry tomatoe in my mouth at the beginning and enjoying the crunch of the deep fried onions right to the last bite. Was disappointed that they had run out of the Hard root beer. Though was recommended the Vic pale ale it was a nice pairing. The fries were a little stay tasting but it is a Sunday afternoon after a busy weekend in the city. Finished off with the raspberry sour a great drink to cleanse the palette and take on the rest of the day.

The oyster bar was pretty great; I tried four different "kinds" and enjoyed them all. The server was also able to recommend a super fun oyster shooter. The Asian sticky ribs were absolutely delicious. On another occasion, I had the brown bag fish and chips which was only "okay". On that visit, they had also run out of all of the seasonal beer on tap. It was literally the first week of summer, so some planning could have done better. Overall, would recommend though. I hated the feel and ambiance of the business that had just been in this location, but enjoyed Gahans. Not pretentious, good service, decent food, and the oyster bar makes it a bit different than anyplace else in town. Good enough for me!

Great spot in Moncton! I had the salmon, which was cooked perfectly and the roasted veggies were incredible. Unfortunately, the bed of rice was dry and not flavoured at all so that took away from the dish a little bit. My husband had the fish tacos, which he enjoyed! He and his friend shared the crab dip to start which they both really liked! Definitely an indulgent, cheesy treat if you’re up to it. Not a ton of options if you have food limitations/allergies.

The nachos came with next to NO CHEESE. the hamberger on them was not seasoned, very poorly made for the price you pay, the chicken Tacos were soggy and disgusting, the coleslaw in it just made them fall apart and was most of the taco and the chicken was over deep-fried and small compared to taco lol. The pasta was the only reasonable dish we received and was small portioned and bland as hell. HIGHLY do not reccomend this place. A waste of money if you ask me. Over priced for bad quality. Will not be back and will be sure to let other people know how bad it is. Paid 60$ plus tip for this mess and ended up cooking at home!

Honestly, not overall impressed. Made a reservation 3 days in advance. When we showed up, there was not table available for us as they assumed we "weren't going to show up" - not sure why? So they put 6 of us at a booth - very squished. Finally they moved us when a bigger table became available, but at that point it was embarrassing, people probably assumed we didn't bother making a reservation then fussed over the small booth and insisted to be moved - not the case. Food was mediocre - small portions (essentially 3 fries accompanying the burger - however the mussels were great) and drinks weren't anything to write home about. Probably will not bother coming back, there are far better restaurants with better pricing, service and hospitality in the city.

We had many issues here. There was plastic found in the guacamole, no ceasar dressing on the ceasar salad, service took over an hour and 15 to be serviced and overall terrible experience here.

I had coconut curry mussels and there was literally no sauce/broth in the bowl. It was as though someone had just taken a basting brush to the mussel shells and painted them with some curry paste. What's the point of even giving me bread if there's nothing to dip it in? I've had better mussels in freaking Alberta. So disappointing. The raw oyster was good, as was the beer. The salmon in the salmon salad was tasty but undeserving of the price tag. Sigh.

Food was fantastic for the price, and the in house beer served on tap was a nice touch. Decor was unique and modern, wait staff friendly but not overbearing. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

I've only been to this location for their drinks. I was at a Gahan House in Halifax for food and it was good. However, I had their hard root beer here for the first time. It was incredible! Most likely the only drink I'll get when coming back.

Awesome spot. The place is styled very nicely, feels cozy and old even though they're still quite new. The service was good. Several different staff members helped us, from seating to drinks to bringing out food, to checking in on us. All very friendly and attentive. The food was great. Pleased with all of our selections. The only thing I would change, I would like to see the prices of their beer on the menu rather than having to ask.

Party of 10 on a Sunday night, our waitress was sweet but terrible. Forgot orders, took forever for everything and didn't clear anything from out table. 10 of us drinking, apps and meals, it was a bit crowded after we sat there for 2 hours. 2 people from out party were ill after eating there. Second time there, unfortunately we will not be back.

After going a total of 4-5 times, I have a mixed feeling about Gahan House. The first time I went around opening, I had some amazing food with really good portion sizes, but the second time, a few weeks later, it wasn't as good and some of the portions for the appetizers seemed a lot smaller. I ended up going a few more times with friends, but it seems like the quality keeps going down. I'm not sure why this happened, but for a place that's a bit more expensive than normal pub food (few dollars more), I'd expect the quality to be there. For example, the burger was perfectly cooked the first time I had it and fries seasoned perfectly, but the next time I had it, the burger was overcooked and the fried under seasoned. The first time I had the calamari, there was plenty to share between three people, but the second time we got a lot less. Gahan beer is very good tho, and this is the only place I can think of where you can get a full selection of Gahan beer. I recommend the Blueberry ale (tastes like blueberry pie but not to sweet) and the Sir John A. The crab dip is one of the best crab dip I've had. It has a very nice crab flavor.
