This place is wonderful. One of the little "hidden" gems of Fort McMurray. I say hidden but most of us drive by it all the time. More people need to stop in for a bite. The brunch is amazing, the layout and decor of the place is just beautiful. Absolutely recommend!

Really great place for the summer. Quick coffee or a bite to eat. Or even a night out for dinner maybe a date! Really nice atmosphere and quality food. In the summertime it's really good scenery where you can go for a walk around the river. Good amount of parking and a kids park for a family outing. Can't wait for this place to get more recognized.

Location, Location, Location...what a spot probably one of my favorite places in Fort McMurray is the Snye and they made a cafe style restaurant with awesome food, what winning combination. We went in there randomly and totally enjoy our experience... I had the East meets South fry chicken sandwich it had a Vietnamese sub flavor which was awesome and my wife had there breakfast sandwich with a homemade biscuit and she loved it. There is still a little bit of construction going on around the building but there is plenty of parking and seating outside on those super sunny days. They also have a dinner menu which we will try for sure.... If their dinner menu taste like their lunch menu it will be hit! It's restaurants like this make me happy, please stop in and support local business!!

Was my favorite restaurant until I took my friend and her three kids on her birthday. It was a hot day and I was pregnant, yet despite there being more servers than tables we had to ask multiple times for our drinks, at one point they were standing beside the tray of drinks chatting with the owner. They don't have crayons or paper for the kids, yet even so they were very well behaved yet we were left feeling like they were unwelcome. We had to ask for every little thing and wait a long time for everything and were generally left feeling like they didn't want us there. On my first visit the owner complained to me that a child had gotten ketchup on a chair and that the server shouldn't have seated the child in that chair. Shouldn't you have wipeable fabric on restaurant chairs? It just has become very clear to me that the owner doesn't like children so I won't return. If you don't want kids in your establishment fine, make it 18+, but I called ahead and asked if they had a kids menu and they do.

Very rarely do you come across a place with character such as this. A social swiss army knife. You can come here for a casual visit or a late night date. I came here later in the evening and it felt like that fancy restaurant from your dreams. The wine was free flowing and the entire vibe of the place was encapsulating. I had such a good time and next thing i knew it wass 11 o'clock. And dont even get me started on the food. With possibly the best quality food in fort mac they make you feel as if you have your own personal chef tailored to your personal taste. I recommend the curry and if you dont like curry i can also recommend the fish and chips in great confidence! The batter is a chickpea base and nice and crispy and not greasy at all. To be honest i have never had it until i had it there and i dont think i can eat normal fish and chips again! And if your a fan of fine wine then you have chosen the right place! If kendra is working just ask her what wine she recommends because she nails it every time! I am a very picky person when it comes to dining out and this is my favorite place to eat in fort mac. This place is terrible, first time we went, it has took over an hour for the food to come, the second time we went which was approx 6 months apart, the waitress took our order only to come back a half our later only to tell us it was going to be another 15-30 mins for our food. The reasoning was because "they were too busy in the morning so they were shutting everything down". This was at noon. (Well 1 by the time we go outta there) Its pretentious, and over priced as well. Also I don't find the staff overly personable or friendly. I would honestly give it 0 stars of it was an option.

If you've been putting off trying this place i would say it's time to go try it out. It's a refreshing addition to the fortmcmurray restaurant scene. Pros: Modern open design, good choice color, sleek and clean very nice. Very nice view. Nice love seats to eat and watch the lake. Coffee was the best in town. Hands down. The roast is superb, superior to any other restaurant/ coffee house in town. As good as the expensive brands ive used at home. Plus they sell the beans. Soy hot chocolate was great. Brunch was excellent. We had eggs Benedict done medium. The hollandaise was creamy and delicious. poached egg was done properly. Hashbrowns where chunked and crispy. English muffin was nice and crispy. Breakfast poutine-Absolutely amazing! Con's I would experiment with chives as a garnish on the breakfast poutine But then again i just really like chives. Table by the fireplace is wobbly but that's not a deal breaker. Its kind of expensive. But other restaurants in town are charging the same for worse quality. I'll update this review when i go in for supper rush, for a pressure test.

This is a really great sit down restaurant that you can celebrate anniversary's, birthdays, or just some alone time with your significant other with soft music in background and only a few dozen tables. There is also a bar that could seat 6 or so if it was just drinks or cocktails you wanted. I have booked company staff dinners here and they have been able accommodate 50 of us. I have seen a few family's bring their children, which is nice but it's an amazing spot for adults looking for a romantic dinner with it's luxurious interior design and elegant features. It's right on the river bank in Fort McMurray and has a patio that looks over the river and tree line so perfect for an evening outdoors if weather permits. This is not the Brew House so there's no TV's blaring in the background with sports games or fight nights, the music is not obnoxiously loud so everyone else needs to yell at one another just to communicate or be heard. The staff is always friendly, professional and very courteous. The food is simply amazing. The main dishes sit around the $30/$50 mark, They serve only a few variations of chicken, fish, pork, beef, and lamb but there's something for everyone within the mix. They have a brunch menu which I haven't yet been able to try but it is on the list and definitely will be soon.

The location is lovely, really big windows allow a lot of natural light in and the polished decor makes the place feel both upscale and comfortable. The food is delicious; I have never had a bad experience here with the food. The prices are also fair, and I have never had an issue with the staff. Pretty darn good experience... Food was good for the most part. Ordered the $42 8oz NY striploin, Med-Rare... Came out med-well, which for that price, it should be pretty spectacular imo... But the rest of the meals were great. Service was honestly quite inattentive at some points. But the staff was really nice. Quite accommodating as well for the children we brought, with the high chairs and quick kids meals.

We decided to try this place on a recommendation. We had no expectations other than a nice view, and we were not disappointed. We sat in the corner facing the water. The park and playground close by make this a perfect pit stop for families exploring the city. We came for breakfast. The coffee is very good, not your normal restaurants coffee. My breakfast was your classic breakfast. Bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, and toast. No complaints! Was very good. Hubby ordered the breakfast burger, he said he could eat it every day it was so good. The service was great, we are definitely looking forward to coming back to try more selections off the menu!!

I decided to return here now that everything is opened up, and i am beyond glad i did. We were lucky to be taken care of by the owner, which resulted in a wonderful chat about the food and the dining experience. Our food was absolutely outstanding, we started with their version of scallops, and by their version they have this wonderful mango infused sauce, selection of light vegetables, and seasoning. At first i was a little apprehensive but the mango does compliment the scallops in a way that you wouldn't expect. The scallops were fresh, cooked evenly and perfectly which is a bit of a feat. I applaud the chef on this dish. For my main i had the mushroom and chicken ravioli, which was warm, comforting and entirely delicious, and my date had the chicken dinner ( i believe it is called chicken supreme ), also absolutely delightful. The mashed potatoes and gravy were very rich and tasty. For dessert we had the chocolate cake and ice cream, and what a lovely compliment to a tasty dinner. The owner also brought us a nice warm nightcap when we got our bill, and stayed to chat about the food. The night was a lovely experience and i look forward to my next visit.

Only star I can give is for the pretty atmosphere! Food menu is very limited and lacks flavour. Servers look really sad and no one is smiling or welcoming restaurant- maybe just tired? However, waited 20 mins for our server to ask for extra ketchup... also they had ran out of ceaser salad so when I asked for another salad with croutons the server told me she doesn’t think they have croutons at night (which was 7pm!!!). It is hard for me to say the servers (which were 6 of them) were overwhelmed as only 5 tables were filled. Also witnessed a guest sitting in front of the table ours being rudely ignored when he got up to ask for the washroom ????... I would have honestly been 10 times the server- always smiling no matter how tired, make an incredible guest experience, and continuously working hard for guests and the kitchen if I wasn’t working elsewhere :)

Nice place but.......took forever to be served. Overpriced gin tonic, ran out of so much things we ordered, watery caesar was not worth it to finish it, “Sri Lanka” over cooked rice curry would have been better if I asked one of the junkies around 7-11 to cook it for me. I hope they will hire staff that knows how to serve professionally and have a short term memory. I wanted to try something new in Fort McMurray but I will not going back for a few years the time they get their business together. Mostly a place for young little girls that doesn’t know much about food but want nice Instagram pictures to show off.

I'm new to Fort McMurray, and I found myself coming to Surekha's for a coffee with a friend. The hostess was really nice when we told her the situation and initially we were going to leave, but she put us at the perfect spot at the bar where we could just talk and order an appetizer. The employees were so incredibly kind and attentive, and the restaurant was so beautifully decorated with a stunning Christmas tree, everyone on their way out took a picture.

I came here as a solo diner and sat at the bar. The barman was friendly but new so had to ask for assistance here and there. I ordered the chicken supreme which was quite delightful overall. I would say the asparagus was a but cold but the meal was delicious and everything else was hot. I also had a syntini which was quite good.

The setting on the river was magical. We stopped for lunch. It was very good . My wife had the Turkey sandwich which to her was one of the best sandwiches she had. Presentation isn't as strong as people making out to be. For a casual fine dining restaurant, the dish is all over the place. While the taste is absolutely on point, i thought visually it tried (and failed) too hard. Service was also mediocre and something id expect from a bar. Other than that, the interior is gorgeous and food is probably the best in fort McMurray. If thats all you care about, you will love it. If you want an experience, Surekha's isnt it.

Got to the restaurant and was told that my table, that I reserved, was given away so we would have to wait a bit. Didn't take too long to fix that. First drinks came all good, ordering all fine. Then drinks sat empty for twenty minutes. I went up to the bar to try and order a couple from the bartender for me and my dad but he told me to wait for my waitress (this happened twice). Waited almost two hours for our dinner. After about an hour and a half I went and asked if we could get some bread or something as we were all starving - a table of seven. In fairness, they were busy but if they can't handle it, they shouldn't book that many people. Food FINALLY came. My lamb shank was incredible but my potatoes and vegetables were cold. A couple of other people in my group had a pasta dish and both said it seemed like a bad microwave job as some of it was piping hot and some of it was stone cold. Talked to the manager (owner?) and she did seem apologetic but that was it. Paid $330 for our meal and was very displeased. The waitress did say she was new and I did feel bad for her as she did seem to be trying. I don't think most of the issues were her fault. The kitchen was nowhere near capable of keeping up with the amount of people in there.

Not at all what I expected to find in Fort McMurray. This unique take on a European style cafe provides amazing food in a wonderful location. The food is outstanding, with flovours and presentation equally impressive. If you’re looking for a place for a special occasion or just a place for a nice night out, look no further than this wonderful establishment.

Dreadful service. Met here for a bridal brunch, 5 of the 7 diners did not get their breakfast cooked correctly. Reluctantly, the meals were remade. After an hour and fifteen minutes the eggs and bacon were ready. The server had a bad attitude throughout our visit. It’s a perfect location for a great restaurant - I just wish there was one here.

The food was great but the service was absolutely terrible. Drink order took well over 15 minutes. We didn't have one dedicated server. The lady who sat us was great but the other 2 or 3 that came by were impersonal and mediocre at best, even going as far as complaining to my wife and I about their day at work. It's too bad as we were suggested this place by our friends at Asti.

Best burger I've had in town. The chicken burger was also excellent. Beautiful location and beautiful building. They're still working out their service system but it's worth the hiccups and still very good. We'l be back for sure. Come support a great local eatery!

This is second visit to this restaurant. 1st visit~~fantastic. Yesterday’s visit unfortunately I will give it a 2 out of 5. 3 meals out of 4 tonight were I am told were delicious, hot & yummy. However, the attitude & meal choice lead to the rating. I had ordered the Short Ribs...normally they are soft to touch & should fall apart with your fork. I had to ask for a steak knife to cut. After trying to eat just one, I gave the 2nd piece to my husband to see if I was correct in my analysis. He stated the same. The manager asked if anything wrong....I told her. Nothing said. Then the waitress asked the same...same story related. At the end of the meal, we SHOULD HAVE GIVEN my plate a free pass,since I didn’t eat any of the meat, however they gave us a 50% discount only. My meal was inedible, I ate 3 pea pods. The Manager never did come over & say sorry. We declined drinks at this visit, as my very pregnant daughter wasn’t drinking & so in solidarity we declined as well. Will we be back on our next visit to Ft McMurray? Nope....the food was good for the 3 & the 1 was a poor excuse for short ribs & attitude.

Ordered the Farmhouse burger with a Caesar salad for the side, bit into it and the patty was "off" tasting. Server came by to ask how it was and saw that I was eating my salad but not touching the burger and I asked if the patty was frozen and she said she didn't know and I told her I didn't like it, she shook her head and walked away; didn't offer anything else. I finished off my salad and waited for the bill, my server came by to take the plate away with the uneaten burger...she came back and presented the full cost of the bill still never offering anything else. I paid the full cost but wasn't Impressed with the service or the burger. If you want a burger that tastes like a frozen Costco burger then by all means order it, I prefer not to order something that I can make at home that would taste the same. My total bill was $25.00, so what I basically paid for was $5.00 for a house brewed coffee which appears as an Americano on the bill and an Americano wasn't what I had asked for, and a small side portioned Caesar salad...the Farmhouse burger was around $18 and change...I should have gone to Wendy's.

Went there for the first time earlier today for a casual lunch with my friend and I was so impressed! The waitress (I forgot her name) was new and she couldn’t have been more thoughtful and lovely! They don’t have a HUGE menu but every single item on it sounded absolutely delicious and it sincerely took me about 15 minutes to decide. Better yet—the food tasted just as incredible as it sounded. Such good quality for the price!

We ordered the main courses, Lamb Shank , Beef Short Ribs, Salmon and Cheese Ravioli with Shrimps . Lemon Lavender and Strawberry Champagne cheesecakes for desserts. Wow! Absolutely speechless! Never thought we will find a place in Mac. Highly recommended! We will be regulars starting from now on. The owner was so accommodating and the staff very knowledgeable with the menu. Ambiance very cozy n relaxing. A time well spent with my kids. You should not miss this place!

Great food as always, we've been going for breakfast regularly since they opened. Breakfast Club sandwich is served on a hot crispy croissant. Only reason I haven't given five stars is because the food and drinks always take too long to come out. Even a simple tea or coffee can take 10 minutes with hardly anyone there. Still worth the wait though. Plus they serve the amazing Transcend coffee!
