In 2006 I started eating here, averages out to now to be about more than once every two months, but sometimes as much as once a week. What really impresses me is the consistent quality over this whole time. Have I had a bad meal here? Yea. 3 times. I also had about 80 great meals. Those three bad meals were dealt with beyond what I thought was fair to me btw. I’ve also had a few epic meals here, and anyone who has had one of the private rooms probably has too. I’m a sashimi fan, and it’s hard to hide quality with this dish. Always fresh, and firm, and tasty. TLDR: consist quality. Eat here.

I know the waiter is really nice but that doesn't mean you give this place 5 stars. We waited 40 minutes for the food because they wanted everything to come out at once - maybe that’s how they make people go hungry before eating….we could have made the yaki udon ourselves and it would have tasted better. The bbq eel was over $17 and was cold. I feel really bad leaving this review, but it’s truly one of the worst sushi meals I’ve had in my life. Truth needed to be said. Some constructive feedback: 1) your filling:rice ratio was off - too much rice - the sushi rice needs to be well made, it doesn’t matter what you put into it if it falls apart or doesn’t taste good 2) the yaki udon was undercooked and the sauce was runny, you need to make sure (in the 40 mins) that the noodles are cooked well and the sauce thickens 3) the eel needs to be actually grilled for it to be called bbq eel (robata)

Soft shell crab roll was completely mushy today. Not what I expected from past experiences here. Saddened by this non quality issue. The rice was still warm and also mushy. I think maybe my expectations are higher because I eat sushi in places other than Fort Mac.

Went out for dinner for our anniversary only to be sad with our service. My boyfriend couldn't even eat his udon due to it being hot on one side and freezing cold on the other, almost as if it was microwaved. I got dumplings and the were actually the same dumplings I buy from the supermarket. Just to make things worse our shrimp in the ebi sunomono tasted dirty and frost-bitten. The avocados were way past old, was beyond half brown in all our rolls. The server we had actually was hovering over us and hearing around the corner to see when we were ready to order. To top it all off, it cost almost $50+ for two people, we even had the udon taken off our bill. Will never go here again. Was not happy for our first time

Had high hopes for this place and that it might be decent sushi for up North. Yam tempura and avocado rolls were okay, the tuna in our spicy tuna roll wasnt fresh and had a very fishy odour to it. Beef yakisoba was subpar. Sushi rice was sticky and not at all good quality. I would go to Calgary or Vancouver for sushi or try to make it yourself at home. Didn't want to leave a bad review but felt the truth had to be told as this place gets such good reviews but sushi is very lackluster and quite expensive.

Ordered Katsu Don and was fairly disappointed with what they served us which was the furthest thing from Don. Please switch to Currry Katsu as a big bag of s&b curry powder mix is cheap just need to add meat, carrots and potatoes. Also please use rice not noodles..

The food was okay. I was recently in Japan and went to Fuji. Obviously the quality was not the same but my opinion of it is valid. I was happy with most of it. The rolls were a decent size. Couple of them were poorly rolled. I order a soba noodle bowl as well and it was good. Broth was a little weak in flavour but was still good. Service was okay. When I was placing my order my waitress' phone rang and she actually told me to wait and answered her call. I didn't find that very good. Plus I asked if they had anyone from Japan actually working there and she said no! So overall it was good enough. I'd probably go back because I love Japanese food anyways. But a few things they need to improve on.

Went for sushi with a friend and it was an amazing experience. The waiter was apparently the only one working that night and the food and service were still amazing. He took our orders, delivered the food and drinks to the table, and was making the sushi. I have never seen a man work so hard, and the service didn't suffer at all. We did not wait that long for our food. Kudos to him! I will definitely come back to this place and I will recommend it to everyone I know!

The tuna smelled putrid when I opened the container.. Decided immediately not to eat it.. I've never left food on the table in my life, and I couldn't eat more than 2 pieces of the other 2 rolls. The sushi was on par with how I visioned "sushi in fort Mac" to be. The rice used for the sushi also tasted off. Fugi is an excellent example of authentic Japanese cuisine. The dishes are authentic as it can get in Northern Alberta. Sushi chef definitely seems to know what he is doing. A tad more expensive then I am used to back in Nova Scotia, but it is more then worth it! the sushi knocks everything I have when I am on the east coast out of the park! The owner also gives the best customer service I have ever had. Haven't been there for a month and he remembers who I am over the phone and tell me he can't wait to see me when I pick up my order. We ordered the chicken and tempura entrée and a sushi combo with California, Alaska, and dynamite rolls. Both of these dishes were $19 each and I found it was a lot of food. The teriyaki chicken had light crispy skin and served on a bed and vegetables. There were 2 shrimp tempura and 3 vegetable. The rolls were ok, nothing amazing but I did find they were large in size.

I got my food a little over 20 minutes as the restaurant is packed.. went home and had my chicken terriyaki bento box and it was yummy! the terriyaki sauce isn't overwhelming like other places that all your rice is soaked and it was just plain delicious. would have loved more shrimp tempura but that's ok. must try it

I had a server named Cassidy, whom greeted me promptly and advised me of the daily drinks special/ offered me the menu.Couldn't drink as I was driving, but I did take some time to thoroughly review the menu offerings. Which if I might add, isn't very much. But I believe or should I say rather; the perception of their offerings were more on the level of "Quality over Quantity".
