It's pretty noisy at this bar as in it's hard to have a conversation. They occasionally have live music. The beer selection is not very great and the food is okay. That said the location is great and convenient if you live near there.

When it come to EVP, its always a good time! food at the East Village Pub is easy, comfort yet genuine all in one menue. lots of options, and they can definitly work around any food hurdles you may have. EVP atmosphere is the kicker here, chiil brunch, laughter filled dinners with family and even wild nights out with music blowing the roof off! the live music and out for the night are deffinitly a favorite! Being in such a good place within timberlea it helps not paying a 60$ cab ride away from home each outing and with the staff they have on hand, drinks are flying and food is hot!

Heard good things unfortunately I haven't got to try it as it isn't family friendly my reason giving 1 star... the reason im assuming is because they serve alcohol which in 2020 is quite odd all the other restaurant establishments that serve alcohol are either family friendly or kids allowed to a cut off time, so I continue to the keg instead as my son is welcomed there and after working a week where he sees a nanny more then myself I certainly would like to enjoy a good meal with him and I can still enjoy wine with a meal as well. I do understand some people may not like to be in restaurants with kids for reasons of behavioral issues and so on but not all kids misbehave whilst dining at a restaurant so maybe there will be changes made so I can check out the good food I heard so much about.

This is a really nice pub for live music. The beer selection is okay but I come here for the music. Nearly every weekend they have musicians in and they make this pub even more cozy and relaxing. They have the largest booths I’ve ever seen so if you have friends this is the perfect place.

My boyfriend and I LOVE this place, and the main reason is because of the FOOD! The menu has a wonderful variety, unique flare, and very well made. EVP is one of our fav places to eat in Fort Mac. Service is also great, for the most part. Only at rare times do we have a waitress who is not very attentive. Most of the time, they are lovely and kind. If I could make one suggestion for improvement it is to get cushions for the deck chairs or replace them with something more comfortable. They are terrible, but the deck atmosphere is awesome, so we put up with it. However, if the chairs were more comfortable we’d probably stay longer. ???? All in all, a great place to eat. Food is awesome. We highly recommend. ????

Won't ask their staff to follow the same proof of vaccine and negative test rules as their patrons .Unfortunate i liked this place. *updated* june 8 2019* they still have great venues Dan tulk etcetera but the food and service is what really impressed me today. Had the matty's chicken burger. Chicken was tender and moist while keeping the outside crispy. Coleslaw added a nice sweetness and the sriracha aioli was a nice heat to balance out the dish. 10/10 best chicken burger in town. Will be back. Service was good to, im impressed with the improvement from the last time i was there. Meh I dunno good has never been particularly good to me and always seems to busy . The venues are nice though and sometimes you can get bang on service.

Can't go wrong with this place. The food and the staff are consistently awesome which I truly love. East Village is a good place for a casual drink or a sit down meal, any time of the year. In the summer they have a patio which is in a good location, lots of sun. They are also always doing live music events with local and non-local artists which is wicked. Food wise, can't go wrong with their wings, fish and chips and shepherd's pie. I would definitely recommend this place.

Food was good, drinks OK, beer selection is pretty normal won't find much. Ive had their burger there numerous times. The PEI muscles are good. There's a door off to the side that smokers like to use as a side exit/entry, I would avoid seating near that door, as they use it, cold draft during the cold months blows by, I found that it's quite annoying.

Showed up busy night at east village pub for a Guinness and was at the end of the line watching people come and get in but not one got behind me. I was noticing the people come out for a smoke and get stamps to go back in as expected, but after an hour a short line of 15 people still not getting in. I watched the back smoke exit and noticed new people show up and the guy at the exit was allowing groups of 4-5 to come in as I watched him stamp their hands on the way in??? I asked him what's up and he said VIP. I said yeah right I guess if your a young cute girl you are VIP, I should just go as after an hour they had not let 15 people in line go in but numerous more people were going in front and back. I get it, that some of this goes on, but this door man was clearly looking to get lucky at my loss and disrespectful to honest patrons like myself and the other 15 respectfully waiting in line. I figured that since there was a line up it must be full and the 20+ people let in the back were not counted... so for safety reasons I felt obligated to report to the authorities fire and police. Perhaps they will ensure its safe anyway. Happy St Patrick's day. If your not 20 or less and willing to blow the door man don't bother with this place.

Love love loveee this place!! Food & service are always top notch! Waiting time is not too long. They are great for accommodating food orders. Waitresses will come every 5-10 minutes to check up on you. Some of my fave are: The Crispy Chicken (big portion, super yummy and fulfilling); Mac N' Cheese (it is honestly like a high end kraft dinner, simple but delicious, it's creamy and cheesy just how I like it). I have come to really love the maple curry chicken as well! Im not usually a spicy person but this one I can take because it’s sweet and a little spicy. I usually will get the sauce separate from the rice since I don’t like it drenched in there with rice so I like that I have those option. Would 100% recommend this place! If you don't like loud places though, I would not recommend coming on the weekend or after 6PM on some week days (for example I went on a Wednesday around 8PM and it was packed). Hope this helps some of y'all! No regrets at all from EVP! :)

Never fails to amaze, At sheer disappointment. Time and time again, I try and give this place another chance, but time and time again I am thoroughly disappointed. I'll start by saying the staff are absolutely wonderful, the bartenders for the most part try and scatter their efforts to all sides of the bar when it's busy, the waitresses are delightful and pleasant every time I get dragged in, this is solely a management issue. The menu has remained unchanged for the past 10 years, and far too complicated for a kitchen to keep fresh ingredients for, and I assume the spice that's put in every dish is to hide the fact that your produce is never fresh. I don't know what the deal is with the soda taps, but I've never had a drink there with any amount of carbonation, and then was made to feel like I was inconveniencing the manager when I sent a spiced and diet back 4 times because it was flat and disgusting. The entire point of a bar is to serve drinks, why would anyone spend 8 bucks on a drink when it tastes like its been sitting in the sun for three days? I will say that last night our starters got comped without it being brought up because they took about 40 minutes to roll out some chicken bites and a grilled cheese sandwich. Personally I would say that catering such an extensive menu is overwhelming your kitchen. Any time I talk to staff I get the same thing, that it's an unwillingness from above to change their ways, despite suggestions from staff and customers. Normally this is where someone would indicate that they refuse to go back, but unfortunately EVP operates on the business model of "don't like it, go somewhere else", and from time to time, we all have to make work meetings or social events with friends where you can't avoid going to one of three pubs on this side of the city so, it hardly stands out as a big deal to lose a customer. I hope they use the shutdown to reorganize, listen to what the staff have to say, and hopefully fix the most simple piece of machinery in a pub - the soda taps.

Myself and my husband absolutely love this place. Their food is amazing - my favourite is definitely their nachos (best in town!), but I also love the maple curry chicken, brushetta, chili chicken, and tomato soup. All of the staff are amazing and the bartender Will stops to talk to my husband every time he goes to get me my East Village Fix ;) Thanks so much for such a fantastic spot to eat in (and sometimes take out!) in Fort McMurray.

Terrible food. Terrible service. I've been there three times. Each time worse than the previous. The cook is more worried about hitting on the waitresses and the waitresses are more worried about their lipgloss than serving anyone. Thee worst fish and chips ever. Order anything but that. Never again.

Just because you can't bring your children into a pub, is no reason to give 1 star. Can't bring them into Boomtown ether. Might as well 1 star them too. Personally, I hate seeing kids in bars. Even with a "cut off time". You better stick to the keg. Or try McDonald's. They have high chairs.

Love this place!!! Not too loud so people can talk. The drinks are very good, they dont cheap out on the alcohol. The FOOD IS THE BEST! Omg the chefs are so good. I feel very safe here with the bouncers, they keep this place in control and if you badly behave, you get kicked out. Live music is ok... their speaker system can be better. Overall, very good place but i wish the patio could be open longer than 10pm.

Watch your back here. Had some guys try to assault me because they had altercations with another table. Management then decided to kick me out after someone tried to cheap shot me from the side and I stood back, put my hands up to show I wanted no part in it. I have been to this place 2 times. The food is good the service outstanding. Prices are reasonable and environment clean. They dropped the ball with their security. A gentleman was drunk and belligerent. The man should have been cut off however to make the Almighty, dollar he was not. He finally assaulted me while I was at a table dining with my friends. Then he was forcefully shown the door. Security you have but one job... Either do it well or join the drunk outside.

As i walked into East Village Pub i was instantly met with a warm welcome by manager Coby. We exchanged pleasantries and laughed over the reality in which is todays prerequisites just to enter such establishments. Feeling already uplifted by such a gracious welcome, i made my way to one of the corners of the room to complete some work over my laptop. A both aesthetically pleasing and just as kind server named Alisha patiently walked me through connecting to the wifi and promptly satisfied my food and beverage requests. I would recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a quiet spot to complete some work between 1pm-4pm, and a great spot to meet new people and be entertained in the evening. Thank you Coby and Alisha for creating a great google worthy review experience!

East Village pub is a great place to eat, drink and enjoy! I've always enjoyed every experience there and I've been there numerous times for different reasons. The environment is very welcoming as the staff is amazing! Especially Alysia, as she's always went above and beyond if she was working shift when I visited. Always friendly faces with awesome service!! KL B you are missing out, plan an “adult night”. Behavioural issue could be one reason but you also have to think about the fact that it is an “adult” atmosphere. As a person with kids it is nice, for a change to get out without the kids or have to listen to someone else’s whiny misbehaving kids(not that yours are).

We had a business meeting and this was a good place for us. It wasn't too loud, for a pub, and we had enough privacy. The food was good, at average prices. The best feature was the wait-staff.
