I was in Fort Mac doing some disaster relief work with Team Rubicon, and we were fortunate enough to be invited by the local members to hangout at their legion hall. It was great hanging out with fellow Vets while in Canada, and their hospitality is second to none. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Fort Mac strong!

I've been here twice, once for a funeral and once for a wedding. It's a pretty nice place but was very crowded in the upper floor for the wedding. Drink service was quick though which is hard to do at weddings. The bottom floor has pool tables and a dance floor.

Update: Closed Monday And Tuesdays. The location in Waterways is unfortunate in the sense that the area is still in rebuild mode post 2016 fire, and this old area of Fort McMurray gets very little traffic, being tucked away in its southern downtown location. A great spot to play pool (only $5/hr) on well maintained tables or darts (). The interior was renovated a few years ago, and is quite comfortable. The legion is worth a visit, & return visits.

So I was here for Sunday brunch, visiting my family. I came expecting the usual basic fair, stringy hash browns and soft bacon. But I was dead wrong. The immediate stand out items were the waffles and the sausage/peppers dish. Both were far above par. The rest of the food was incredible. I actually enjoyed the bacon, and I never enjoy the bacon on brunch lines. But the truly noteworthy thing was the staff. A gentleman manning the omelet stand was helping a woman and her two sons. He did a friendly, interactive service for the three, teaching the boys how to make an omelet for their mother on mother's day. It was heart warming and I was amazed that a man who would be so busy would take the time to do such a kindness. I will be back here every time I'm in town.
