The food was tasty and reasonably priced however it was very stuffy and hot, with minimal (if any) air conditioning. Poor ambiance-- looks more like a diner with white table cloths. We had to wait to long for the bill after our table was cleared and we said we didn't wat anything else.

The food here is really good. I ordered from this place on a whim and man I’m happy that I did. The best thing is their food has authentic Italian flavours. I ordered theirs Fettuccine Alfredo and it tasted so good. You will not find any place in Toronto that sells authentic Italian cuisine, like them.

Service was spectacular here and the food was incredible. The decor and setting are very warm and welcoming. We were seated right away and greeted with complimentary bruschetta which was very fresh. Food came quickly and portion sizes were quite large! Loved it!

Wonderful dining experience. Waiter was knowledgeable and treated us like royalty even though we came in at 930 with 2 screaming babies. He was so gracious and quickly got bread for them. He brought complementary bruschetta and the main courses were amazing. Our table had lasagne, veal, gnocchi,ravioli and tiramisu. All tasted great. Would definitely go again when in the area.

Trattoria Leonardo has been around since the 60's, and they may still be using the original furniture, but don't let that stop you from visiting. The food is always great, it's affordable, and the service is old school genuine and friendly. Just don't expect anything too fancy.

Good authentic Italian restaurant. The portion sizes were pretty good for the price, and the music wasn't blaring so loud that you can't hear the conversation (one of my biggest annoyances with the chain-style restaurants that like to masquerade as part-club). The service was prompt and friendly, and they don't rely on scantily-clad young women for waitresses. Not that I mind such things, but I just think it says something about the restaurant when they don't need to do that to maintain the business.

I wanted to like this place, but it's too dated. And you can tell it is severely on the decline. I'm assuming Covid hurt them dearly. When we arrived the place was completely empty. Not another customer in sight. We could choose our table and took one by the window. The table was pre-set and looked okay? I can't say it was pristine and at first I thought there was a stain, but it was a hole in the fabric of the tablecloth. Also odd. The food was mediocre to poor. While it was edible and I wouldn't call it disgusting, you could tell that it was not prepared fresh. I had the salmon and it came on a plate that had clearly been in the microwave. The fish tasted fine, so it wasn't too old, but it was dry. It was clear that it has been pre-grilled at an earlier time and then reheated in the microwave instead of freshly grilled to order. It came with some veggies (carrots and broccoli) that were okay, not really seasoned so a bit bland. And potatoes that were the star of the dish, but only because they were clearly reheated in a butter sauce. They were not fresh either. The service was excellent. The owner or manager (not sure which) served us, he might even have been the chef, seeing how he was dressed. He was very friendly and incredibly nice. The decor is extremely dated. Carpeted floor, dates back to the 90s. The air felt thick and musty. There were windows but they were closed, likely to preserve what little the poorly running A/C tried to do for the place. This place needs an overhaul. New, modern, fresh should be the theme. The neighborhood is full of mansions. If they Cater to those people and redecorate, and revitalize the menu and make it moder and fresh, they might survive. By the time we left the place was still completely empty.

Love going to this place and everything about it. Hidden gem off Bloor St. From the friendly waiters to the old fashion style of the decor. The lighting is nice and dim which definitely makes for a more intimate evening with family and friends. A great place to hunker down for a bit while drinking some wine and enjoying a delightful meal. Also - big plus - there is plenty of parking in the front or the back of the building.

My father is an Italian chef and I can honestly say this restaurant compares to a typical Weeknight night during my childhood. "Cheese please", "Grazie"..... The waitors also say "Absolutely" in a really neat way. I'm seriously yet to try something I didn't enjoy on the menu. Keep calm and cook on.

Exceptional - busy place. Server was super friendly without being overly visible. House wine was nice; red, fruity nose and reasonably priced. Menu was varied and also reasonable. I had the eggplant parmigiana 14 bucks. They brought us bread and water and some bruschetta to start. Nice specialty coffees to finish.

Made reservations ahead of time via the website and that didn't seem to be recognized (although in their defence, they thought I was with a different party) but we still got our table without issue. The menu was pretty concise and to the point. We were served bruschetta which was quite lovely. For apps, we just had the escargot in butter and garlic. It was ok - nothing special. For entrees, we ordered the penne with rapini and sausage and the gnocchi with meat and mushrooms. The penne was cooked just right and had a good flavour. The gnocchi was, ok at best. A little too soft in my opinion but the sauce carried well with it. I'd stick with the noodles. Prices are ok given the portion sizes (which are fairly large). Accepts credit or cash. Might come back again to give it another shot and re-review.

Amazing well made Italian food the waiters are professionals and you are never a minute away from help. The specials are always amazing and if there is any substitutes you wwould like to make they will happily help out. I've been coming for years and tried many items and have never left disappointed. Also at the end the waiter manually entered the tip and accepted on my behalf, as a result I didn't even know the total of the charge until I received my credit card bill.

Visited on Saturday night. The place was packed. Service was atrocious. Meals not served in order of guest arrival. About 45 minute wait between appetizer and main course. Waiter told us three times food was coming soon. The food was acceptable but no better than that. Perhaps try it during the week but we will never go back on a weekend.

I honestly wished this place was good as the reviews below say. The pasta me and my gf ordered had no flavour whatsoever. It tasted like paper so bland. Very disappointed. The tiramisu did not really taste like authentic tiramisu. I really feel bad because the staff are very sweet and nice but the food was terrible. I do not recommend this place.

Wow! Stellar meal from the daily special menu! This place is a West Toronto legend for great Italian food. The consistency in quality hasn't changed in 15 years. The service was prime and ensured every person was satisfied with their meal.

Frank Sinatra mega hits...old style, love the place, mature service personnel who take pride in what they are doing. Very reasonable priced menu. The lamb shank was a bit dry, delicious pasta. My daughter loved eggplant Parmesan.

Excellent Italian food! Shrimp and cream sauce is 10/10 Service is excellent, cozy and wasn't too crowded. Price is lower than expected. Portion size is great and I am a big eater. Could not think of anything here to improve on.

The food was pretty good considering I haven’t had Italian food in awhile. Although the lamb shank wasn’t the best. It almost tasted kinda old. I wouldn’t order that anymore. But the mussels, pasta, and calamari was delicious. Customer service was on point. I’ll be coming back.

Cute little resto. Extremely attentive and friendly staff. We received complimentary bruschetta to start. Toasty and warm bread topped with fresh tomatoes, well seasoned. Calamari was lightly battered and fried perfectly golden brown. My friend and I were sharing everything and the server brought out two plates of veal Marsala each with half portion of meat, veggies and potatoes. I thought that was so thoughtful! Ended our meal with some coffee and tiramisu. It was a quiet night as we went on Monday evening but there were guests coming and going during our 2.5hr stay. One disappointment is that they don’t serve pizza as I was looking forward to trying some after seeing pics on Google review. Nonetheless, I’ll return to try other dishes.
