Love this place. Always a weekend treat coming for a big breakfast before heading out to run a Sunday's errands. The staff here are friendly even when the place is lined up out the door. They serve up great breakfasts and lunches with that classic greasy spoon style. I recommend the French toast special, if you can go toe to toe with a big portion size! The best!

If you like Perogies this place might be for you! We have been here a few times for lunch and all the experiences have been good. This visit was no different. My friend ordered the Perogies and I ordered the Liver and Onions! The Perogies apparently are perhaps the best ever tasted and that is saying something!! Excellent!! The Liver was also perfect, I realize this is an unpopular dish but none the less I like it and it was wonderful here!! Comes with a nice mash potato, veg and covered in delicious gravy! How can you go wrong?! The staff are very friendly and helpful and the service quick. This Olive seems very popular with the Blue hair gang so its fairly quiet and reserved; certainly when I have been there no fights have broken out and no walking sticks have been thrown. Time was they were only open for breakfast and lunch; but now I see they offer dinner. I will have to return and try them out for dinner fair. So if you are in the area perhaps after a bit of Canadian Tire or Home Depot shopping and fancy a quick bite check it out you will not be disappointed!! My wife feels you should get the Perogies, myself I recommend the liver!!

Great breakfast/brunch spot but today I discovered they have a great lunch and dinner menu as well. Service is always fast and friendly and the prices are very reasonable. Today I tried the hot beef sandwich and it was delicious. They have a traditional diner style menu and the staff are always professional and friendly. I'm going to be a regular now.

Great service and good food. There was only one server (Bona) when i got here for late breakfast at noon. She didnt express any tiredness at all, kept bringing me tea and napkins etc. Always on her toes. Thats not always the case when restaurants are understaffed. Food was great. White toasts were very thick - mostly i see thin ones.

The Olive is the best - unassuming and spacious, the service is beyond compare! There's a good reason that weekend brunches here are packed with happy regulars! The menu is broad enough for anyone and the food is excellent and the portions are ample! Truly a gem of Etobicoke!

I went to The Olive last night for the first time with a friend... A coworker recommended this Restaurant, since The Q recently closed down for good, he said this would be a good alternative. Both my friend and I had the Ceasar Salad, it was okay, tasted a bit off though, and the croutons didn't taste that great. I had the ribs and wings combo, my friend the Chicken Parmigiana... my food was decent, but my friend did not enjoy the sauce with the pasta, I even tried some and it wasn't great... he ordered a plate of fries (which they didn't charge for), so that filled him up. I love Rice Pudding, so if it's on the menu, I need to try it... I did... it was actually pretty liquidy... and just tasted okay, nothing really spacial. I was really hoping that this would be the replacement for my friends and I to come to now that The Q is gone... but unfortunately not.

I can honestly say I am a regular at this place. It has great staff, Greta and Rosie are my favs! Their food is absolutely amazing and the portion sizes are great. When I go for lunch I always know that I will have half left for dinner. 2 for the price of one. You wont be disappointed, It has a menu built for all. If you want fresh turkey, ham, roast beef chicken or fish sandwiches or dinners this s the place. All day full breakfast menu as well! Everyone I have taken there in my office have now become regulars as well. I highly recommend this place. I Miss them and hope they are doing well and staying safe with their families.

The food was really good and the portions and the prices were excellent. The service good have been a little better. The waitress pretty much forgot us and sometimes that's ok but when you are just there for a quick lunch ... its annoying.

First time trying this place and I ordered through skip the dish. They are really good! I tried the French toast special and the portion size was decent. I also thought because I lived far, or Fifteen minutes at least, my food would be cold, but it was alright. Still warm. They also remembered all condiments I asked for and the right amount. I will definitely order again. Oh yea, fresh fruits were delicious... but I need more!!!

Ordered from here on skip the dishes. Have ordered before and was usually satisfied however this time around I ordered an eggs benedict in which I was given completely burnt english muffins. Why would you serve that? I also ordered a fruit salad that was clearly cheaply made. It had mostly cantaloupe and melon, with one strawberry, half an orange slice, and 4 rotten blueberries! Would honestly never order from here again. Very disappointed.

Extremely slow service. Took almost 40 minutes from ordering to receiving food. The servers were pretty quick to bring drinks and take orders, so I can only imagine the kitchen is very shorthanded. The typical breakfast options costs about the same as other breakfast places, but don't include salad or fruits as other places do. All this would be fine if the food was amazing, but it wasn't. Can't speak for other dishes, but the breakfast skillet in particular is completely lacking in seasoning, and the fresh fruits side was underwhelmingly not fresh. With so many other great options in the area, why go here?

I dropped by at around 6 pm cause I needed a meal, before returning to East end of the city. I got the Special of the day, which came with a choice of appetizer, main course and dessert, with coffee. All for $20. I chose garden salad, which to my surprise came with green leafy lettuce and a good selection of vegs ( not just iceberg); filet of sole with "fresh broccolli" and mashed; I skipped dessert but the choices were good. The meal was delicious with fresh ingredients. The service was friendly and on-pointe. Will definitely return.

My fiance asked a simple question before I ordered. Was the hamburger made fresh in-house with ground beef? The answer was yes, and I eagerly ordered and couldn't wait to eat. "the lie detector test showed... That was a lie" what I got was a frozen patty out of a box! It was mechanically separated beef not ground beef! Because of the pandemic we could not dine in, so unfortunately I wasted the $14 on a to-go order, and didn't catch this in time to refuse and demand a refund. I am a burger Aficionado and by my standards this type of meat is inedible. The hamburger equivalent of a childs hotdog. I ordered a wrap based on the description on the menu. That description either left out the two ingredients she dislikes, or the cook gave her some bonus ingredients! Prior to odering, my fiance asked if the fresh fruits where cut at time of ordering, or pre-cut...she was told they where cut fresh. The strwberries where cut fresh, but the bananas, the orange, the mellons, where at least 1 day old and slightly slimy or translucent. All and all a complete waste of $27

One of the best Family Owned breakfast places in Toronto! Very ???? breakfast options to choose from (my favourite is 3 eggs with bacon), free refills on coffee (coffee is Free with early bird breakfast) and wonderful very ????Cheesecake Factory ???? for dessert. Our server, Greta, was very nice & friendly ????, she made sure that our food arrived fast and that our coffee ☕️ were full. Tip: Try Red Velvet Cheesecake Factory cheesecake ???? - its very delicious ???????????? Lots of free parking in the plaza parking lot. Wheelchair accessible entrance. While you are heading to have breakfast to this restaurant a parking ticket can be placed on your car at their parking lot, if you take a small walk before entering to restaurant. I needed to walk to digest my medication before my breakfast. Restaurant manager showed zero emphathy and support. Only showed not my problem attitude. With my family this was our favourite restaurant for many years until this situation. Sherway Gardens is just minutes away. I would suggest go there, park your car freely walk as much as you would like and choose one of the big chain places to have your breakfast in peace instead of stressing out here. This is really sad. We always enjoy warmth of family owned small restaurants in our neighbourhood especially this one, but from now on it is out of our list forever. We will keep telling what happened to us to many people possible. So that they can choose to spend their money for breakfast/lunch somewhere else which they would care about their customers. Do not waste your money here. It does not worth it.

The service and breakfast was good however I was absolutely disgusted by the mens washroom. It has a foul odour, unkept, the washroom stall at top is clearly broken off and away from wall. Management obviously don't care to keep the washroom in order. It definitely needs some renovations and better house keeping. I will NEVER come eat here again. A restaurants washroom condition is a very good indication of the overall cleanliness of restaurant especially kitchen. Do better management team.

I had to leave a review for the Olive, as it was my first time in with my family and we had a fantastic time. We were served by two ladies who were extremely nice and helpful. They made me feel comfortable especially since I had my kids with me. I did not catch their names but one of the ladies was a sweet blonde women, and the other one was brunette but she was very tall, I would call her a friendly giant :) I ordered the breakfast special and it was amazing, prepared well and tasted great. The coffee was very good too which always makes things better. I would like to come back for lunch as I noticed they have a lot to offer on the menu. Prices are reasonable and fair for how good the food was. My kids enjoyed their time as well. Environment is clean and friendly. Will be returning for sure! Has good parking too!

I recently ordered through Skip the Dishes and there was a few mistakes with the order. The breakfast had scambled eggs instead of the sunny-side up eggs I had ordered and there was no home fries. I also ordered the honey garlic ribs and was instead given BBQ. The food still tasted good but it wasn't really what I ordered.

Clean. Good price. Lots of coffee top ups. I think everyone says the same thing. "I always drive by it but never tried". Well if Dundas Street grill or any other place is too busy give this place a try. Nothing outstanding. Price is good to cheap. Portions are big. Service was not as fast as others but the staff are moving the whole time and your coffee is never empty. Food was fine. Overall a good breakfast option.

Very good diner and breakfast food. Cheery and pleasant service. Food and value are good. Coffee unfortunately on the weak side although there's lots of it! Only other niggle is that like a lot of places they seem to reuse hot sauce containers, and their tabasco sauce is closer to vinegar with some tomato paste mixed in than anything real (i.e. no heat whatsoever). Overall, great place to stop in for the all day breakfast, or their other lunch menu.

I try to come to this restaurant whenever I am in the area or whenever I visit Sherway Gardens. I always get their eggs benedict and it always comes out exactly how I want it. My wife always gets whatever special they have on their menu board just to keep things interesting and she always comes out happy. I would highly recommend if you are in the area!

This little family owned restaurant is a must must must visit if you're big on brunches, like me. We ordered Stir Fry with Onion Rings, Pancakes(Blueberry Choco chip) and Choco-Vanilla Milkshake. God! Were they lip-smacking. Let me elaborate for you ???? Stir fry had the right mix of veggies and cooked to the right level of softness with just enough sauce to have rice with???? (Magical, right?!) Onion rings were crisp and done to a perfection of medium brown???? Pancakes were tender not gooey with a firm casing of berries and Choco chip to tantalize your taste buds. (I can see you salivating already)???? The milkshake was bodacious! If I may say so. It was just right! ????????❤️❤️❤️ Just the right sweetness, had a nice texture of flavor and was a smooth gulp ✨ The potion size was enough for 3 people and their breakfast specialities are truly amazing. One of my all time favourite places in all of Toronto. They have good customer service. Good quality - consistently. The food is amazing! I have on many occasions ordered breakfast, lunch and dinner items from them. One thing I would ask of them is that they also get a large size coffee as well that would be nice! Usually I order online, and its just the one regular medium size that you would get in most places so sometimes I order two. But thats not a big deal really. :) Support these guys!

Honestly I expected a much better experience thinking it was a family style restaurant. But tbh absolute horrible experience. Ordered steak and eggs, was asked how I wanted my steak I ordered it medium. I recieved a fully cooked steak with not a spot if pink in it. Was never asked how the food was, was never asked if we wanted a coffee refill. The place wasnt even busy. Litterally massive lack of customer service. 1* all the way and never returning. Minimum tip also. Have never had such a bad experience in a breakfast place.

I was a regular customer of The Olive for the past four years. It used to be one of my favourite restaurants, until I got a parking ticket on their parking lot, and the management did not do anything to reverse or compensate it. I will not go there again.

Yo. The olive is pretty dope I must say. They got a good thing going on right now. But some things could change for the better. A. Change the layout, I feel like I'm in a hospital cafeteria with all of the tables touch the walls B. Change the decor, lol those horrible garage sale paintings on the wall. C. Add some atmosphere. Maybe some music? A lot better than what I can hear is going on in the back room The food is super good though! No complaints there

Just went to The Olive for the first time and was very impressed. Plenty of room inside for spaced out tables, and no wait which is amazing for weekend breakfast. Service was very fast and friendly, portions were huge, and really tasty food. Will definitely be coming again!

SOO GOOD!!! I ordered waffles/ Mexican omelet from here and enjoyed every minute of it !!! Food was still hot by the time came home from picking it up as well and portions are really big. Definitely will be ordering from here again.

Fast service, avereage pricing, low quality food. Overall this place is a decent greasy spoon. My first time here part of the order was wrong, the eggs came out cold (not an exaggeration), she didn't come back to ask if everything was alright with the food, and was not offered a coffee refill until the dishes were cleared away.

Great family owned restaurant. Breakfast is really good here and service is very attentive ! I have had breakfast here on the weeknd definitely really busy but worth the wait. The hungry man breakfast is the best of both worlds. You get eggs bacon, sausage, toast and the choice of either pancakes or French toast. They have un limited refills for coffee which I though was fantastic! Defintely recommend but come a little early because it's always busy !!

Saturday 11:40am, yes it was late for a breakfast run, but... My little family returned to overtun our thoughts as the last time the 4 breakfasts were only warm as well...same as this time, and turned cool in a couple bites. Toast was to light to be considered toasted; the baked-beans I had to send back as they were obviously removed from the microwave and sent to the table without so much as a single stir... The wait-staff were friendly, courest and always available, this is solely the reason I returned to give it another Canadian try...but, ughhh

I've eaten at a lot of breakfast places and this is probably the worst. Bacon is soggy and undercooked, eggs are tasteless- even over heard a customer requesting the cook to add salt and pepper, potatoes and corn beef hash did not have that slight crispy taste as they should. The only thing decent was the tea and coffee and toast. I'm not one to rate restaurants but had to after I saw how good the ratings are on here.

The coffee was fresh, the service was good, but the eggs had 2 pieces of shell in them, they were cooked over medium not over easy, one piece of bacon was barely cooked, the home fries were mushy and the tomatoes were mealy, and they barely buttered the toast....like a little spot of butter right in the middle of the bread - that's it. You can see they are trying to be cheap when you see that. I have been there before and it was good, I'm not sure I will rush back there....it's breakfast for God's sake....it isn't hard to make it good. Your cook may need some time off because he sure isn't passionate about his work...

I came in out of downtown for a late lunch just to have signature dish of liver and onions and they did not disappoint! After college Street Caplansky's closed I was hoping to find another comfort food spot and while a bit out of the way for me this was lovely - homey atmosphere despite industrial area, friendly staff, clean setting, thankfully free coffee refills! Great for any all day breakfast and they have extended their hours past 4pm to 9pm for a dinner service as well I'm looking forward to coming back!

I've been told nice things about this place so I decided to come for a visit. It's your nice local mom and pop breakfast/lunch place. I had French toast (which was surprisingly Eastern European style), eggs, sausages, home fries, and coffee. The home fries were a little dry and the coffee was pricey for its quality ($2) but everything else was delicious and well made. My mom had the peameal Benedict and that was also delicious; their hollandaise seemed homemade. The service is super nice, the lady was very friendly. I'd absolutely come back for breakfast food.

I found this amazing restaurant recently and have gone twice and loved it. City covid rules prevents us from dining-in at this point (March 2021) so I picked the meals up. Some of the delivery services can be found online too. The gentleman taking my phone order was very nice and helpful and same when I picked it up. No problem with our customizing it. We have ordered the banquet burgers and liver and onions meals. So good we ordered the same the second time. Fries and salads were both wonderful too. I look forward to being able to dine in soon!!!
