I went to this restaurant two weeks ago and the food was very bad and when the party was over I went to the hospital and my stomach hurt and I got bacteria from the food This is the worst restaurant I have visited.. 1) This is the first time I have come to this place and the first time this happens to me and it happened right when I finished eating I also went to the bathroom and threw up everything I ate, and the same thing happened to my uncle. and it depends from person to person according to his immunity and stomach ((I give a warning to people )))and I did not ask about money or anything but my health because health is not something you can manipulate with. 2) It is not fair to say that there were 150 people and nothing happened to them I don't know every complaint you get because I have a hospital report and it was revealed from the food I ate there. 3) By the way, the reservation was not under my name, because I do not live in there, and we have evidence that is the receipt, the date, and the day I can send it to you ok and I have pictures in this day too???? And Finally, This is the worst customer service everr

We ordered grilled fish with mahshi and Iraqi signature kebab, I addition to baba ghanoog, rice kuba and alraheb salad, for total 6 persons. It was really awesome dinner, and the salt was just about right. Highly recommended restaurant.

Very good! This is the best Iraqi restaurant I’ve eaten at, in USA and Canada. The Iraqi Kabab dish was delicious and their service is good. The place seems clean, unfortunately the drinking glasses had a weird smell to it. I liked the paintings displayed on the wall. I am giving them 4 stars because I did not like the grilled fish “Mezgouf”, you cannot make mezgouf out of Tilapia! It didn’t come with adequate offering of rice and submitting “amba” with a fish is completely strange to the Iraqi cuisine, it just doesn’t fit. Expect your bill to be pricy, this cuisine needs labor and time. The mezgouf took and hour to be ready. This is not your ordinary fast food place.

This was my first time here and I was pleasantly surprised with the taste of the food. Staff was very friendly and helpful explaining and assisting choosing the meal course. The entree I chose was very tasty (special pickled mix vegetables ), but very small portion. The rest of the meal course size was more then enough ( on the plus side). I would give it a 4.5 stars if I could. Definitely I would recommend to at least try this kind of ethnic food at least once. It's true some people might not like it, but how can you know if you don't try.... That all been said, all of of the 12 people I visited the place enjoyed the food. Hope this review will help other people in their choices.

Decided to try this restaurant, everything looks great in how it looks but for the taste the pita bread (waoo amazing), mango juice and falafel were great but for the fish it didn’t have a taste maybe because i am not a big fan of fish also the rice was not a good taste. We drove from Hamilton to Mississauga just to try the infamous Iraqi mezgouf. My husband heard about how good it is from a friend. We had to choose between three types of fish and we went for the buffalo fish just because it's the closest to the traditional dish. We had to take it out and eat it at home thanks to COVID-19. The garnish and display of the mezgouf dish were exceptional. It came with rice and in-house freshly baked bread and pickles. The fish tasted so exceptionally good, the rice imo was very mild, but my partner loved the rice so much. I'd go again to try their grilled varieties because we were so tempted to try them out.

Recently made a takeout order after they opened back up. They have increased prices all across their menu ( while understandable given the current situation) I just wish they were more transparent about the price increase. Food is still good , just tell your customers price has increased ( approximately $8-10 per item)

I highly recommend this place! Shout out to Tina for the incredible and hospitable service :) The food was amazing. Not only was it presented beautifully but it tasted amazing. We got the mixed platter, some shawarmas, fattoush salad, beef samosas, & Zubadai fish. They provided us with lentil soup to start & even some warm tea ON THE HOUSE to finish off our meal. We Will definitely be coming back!

Not honest people working there. I went in to have something for lunch. Ordered shawarma. Before ordering I asked if shawarma was fresh cut or it was a pre-made. The lady told me it was a fresh cut. I ordered a large plate and got a call late with lots of rice and very little amount of meat. The chicken shawarma tasted old and dry( it was not fresh and for sure not a fresh cut). I won’t recommend this place because the food is not fresh. The Coke wasn’t cold . Not worth the money, I’d say I paid $15 for the rice only. One ⭐️ deserved for cleanliness, the rest was horrible experience. Ps. If you want to enjoy a nice plate with a nice shawarma , go to Kebab 49(3minutes away). Review written same day after visiting this place.

Apart from an unenthusiastic waiter on the phone, the food was incredible. We ordered the Iraqi lamb plate, chicken shwarma plate, and a side of falafels. Wonderfully executed. The taste was on point and far better than some of the garbage franchise Arabic food popping up ever where. well done.

I wish I could stand in their kitchen and overdose on fresh kababs coming off the skewers. The bread out of the tandoor is just so good with the hummus. My wife and I are very fond of the fattoush, hard to find it rightly done most places. Great job to your kitchen staff and thanks for the great service and food! I would love to bring family and friends and dine-in someday soon and have this Mezghouf fish I keep hearing about =)

The food is okay. Rice needs more flavour. Chicken kebab wasn’t good needs more salt and seasoning. Lamb kebab on the other hand is amazing. Salad is also really good. The lentil soup is also really good. I didn’t like when we came in there was a large jar of water and no cups. Shouldn’t have to ask for water every time. Also, entire experience is 3 hours. It took over an hour to receive the food. The restaurant was empty so why did it take too long. Consider hiring more staff. I shouldn’t have to wait over an hour to get this kind of food.

Was there for Valentine’s Day today and enjoyed the fish and jajik and baba ganush soo much. soup was on the house which is such a good idea in snowy days it warms you up and it tasted very good. (Ask for a piece of lemon to add to the soup) but the kabab was very dry. My bf who’s Iraqi had the same comment on the kabab. It should be juicier maybe the rate of kabab and the white oil thing is not oriented properly. But overall a wonderful experience. Will definitely go back to have fish ????????

Highly recommend! The food is fresh, delicious and wonderfully presented (make sure you call to order the Mezgouf at least 90min ahead of your visit!). The staff is warm and friendly. I also love the atmosphere, it feels like a dining room in an Arabic home. An authentic Iraqi experience!

This restaurant serves good food but absolutely third rate in service! In these COVID days when everyone is depending upon food delivery services, this restaurant promptly suspends these services because they claim they got busy without letting know, just like that! We placed our order and then the delivery service cancelled because they could not reach the restaurant. Total thumbs down for this restaurant!

We have come here last year before they had to close to fix the roof and remodel then COVID of course shut everything down. It was so pleasant to return. It’s a great Iraqi food, they are famous for special Iraqi BBQ for fish, the word MexGouf is the way Iraqi cook their fish. It will be good to try it but you need to order it ahead of time. While you are there try the Iraqi Kabua, there few types my favourite are Halab and Burgual ones. I call them the Iraqi WMD. Place is very well maintained, staff are pleasant and sometime on weekend will have pure Iraqi music. Do not forget to ask for Iraqi flat bread, made on site fresh and out of Tnoor.

Delicious food. Loved the middle eastern atmosphere and music. We were so sorry that we went in late and could not tried its stuffed chicken. We stumbled to this place and it was a beautiful surprise. Would definitely go back. The Iraqi tea was on the house and it was so aromatic.

We ordered take out from Royal Mezgouf for my dads birthday. Many restaurants were closed for the holiday so we decided to try them out. Overall the food was tasty. Not 5 stars for me, but nothing bad to say.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and service. I ordered a mixed shawarma plate. My order was ready in less than 5 minutes i mentioned that i was in a hurry. The dish was hot and presented nicely. Chicken shawarma was juicy and spiced perfectly, beef was even better! It was really juicy and tender. Rice was perfect and the homemade salad dressing was amazing! It hard to find a high quality food restaurant. Will definitely be back soon! Thanks

The worst restaurant I've visited. I went with my family and some friends to eat masgouf. The fish was very disgusting and crunchy, no taste or shape, the rice was cold, the drinks were hot, the staff were unprofessional they didn't know the meaning of privacy, they worked near us while eating, they were preparing the place for a night party and the dirt and noise around us while eating I would not advise anyone to eat the food. There is a very bad experience Prices are too high

Delicious, fresh food, generous portions! The Royal mixed Bbq platter was absolutely delicious and fresh with lots of meat, grilled vegetables, rice and flat bread. It was more than enough food for a family of 4 with 2 hungry teens. We had to wait a little bit for our online ordered pick up, but it was well worth it. One of the best Middle Eastern cuisine we have tried! We would definitely go back.

Had the pleasure of eating on the patio, although most options were sold out due to how amazing the food is, we ordered the beef/lamb kabob and the chicken kabob plates. My god. Delicious. The fries were extra crispy with fragrant spices, kabobs were packed with flavour, salads tastes fresh, rice was good. No complaints at all. Will definitely come again, excited to order the mixed shawarma!

I used to love this place....their food is not bad ....but the service is horrible....the kebab tastes good but it was cold....the rice was old and clumpy....the chicken was over cooked.... There were 2 people serving us...the young man was all over the place and had to ask for things many times and we still didn't get some stuff....the woman was very rude and not pleasant at all. We asked for drinks we got them when we finished our food.....we asked for extra plate of rice...we finished our food and never got it..we asked for tea...it was so cold Noone has proper mask on....they had it around their necks only ...during this time of covid its essential to have all staff with their mask on...this is not a joke Not sure what happened to their service this place used to be really good...so sad to see this kind of service there

Neat and clean , We had 10 pounds grilled Fish ( MASGOUF) it was amazing for five persons, the order comes with salads and appetizers in the same tray. And side dishes of rice and some souce ,the Iraqi bread is wonderful....the Quantity is so big but the spicy price worthed...

Possibly the best Iraqi cuisine I've had outside of Iraq... This place is a gem in the crown of Toronto!!! The staff (Sally, Sandy and Ghada) are the best and extremely accommodating. Make sure you try the MezGouf fish. I will be back here till I turn 110 years old!

I have been ordering food from this restaurant for months and the food is very delicious. Recently there has been a new lady at the front desk and took my order incorrectly, instead of chicken they gave beef. Mistakes happen and it didnt happen before so I didnt make any fuss about it and just ignored. When I tried to make an order after 2 weeks I just told that last time the order was mistaken but she didnt make any effort to feel sorry or apologize and ignored whatever I said and responded as food will be ready in 20 mins which was rude. When my husband went to collect the order he tried to explain the same but she ignored again. It doesnt mean if the food is good you can disrespect your customers. People in front desk should be polite and not behave like this. I'm totally disappointed amd this incident changed my opinion to this restaurant. I'm not going to make an order to this restaurant hereafter and will never recomend for anyone

This used to be an amazing middle eastern restaurant with food made from fresh ingredients and flavourful spices. Not sure if the management changed, but we ordered takeout a couple of times and noticed things being less fresh and the portions being much smaller. Today was the last time we ordered: the chicken was burnt (see photo), the portions were super small and there is almost no garlic sauce or tahini.

Best kebab I have ever had to the extent that I ordered another skewer. It's tender and flavourful. The grilled fish is also great. It takes time to grill. So it's better to order via phone if you don't want to wait. I read some reviews criticizing the service. That was not the case with me. The service was excellent the staff is very welcoming.

Really friendly people. The food is excellent. So flavourful and good. My favourites are the pita, hummus, and baklava. The fries were perfect. Meat is soft and tender. Place is very clean. Only suggestion I can make is for the tabouleh, please use less vinegar.

Me and my mom decided to try this place today, and we're so happy that we did! The food is truly authentic and like no other. We ordered the Tilapia Mezgouf which is a fish that is cooked over wooden flame. They have 2 other types of fish, but they are larger. The fish is fresh and alive from their tanks, which we had the pleasure of seeing. We also had the iraqi kabob plate, which was to die for, as well as the potato chap. This place is my new favourite, and I'm so happy they opened! Everything from the food, the service, cleanliness and decor was spectacular!
