Went here with some friends for a much-needed night out and we were excited to try the food as we were local to the area and heard great things about the food and service. Not sure if we caught the wait-staff on a bad night, but the service was sub par and borderline rude at times. Our server was very prompt to take our order and bring us our food, but from there it was hard to find him afterwards for refills on our drinks, and even to ask for the bill. We were among the few tables left in our section. One pet peeve of mine is having wait staff reach across and in front of a customer when grabbing food plates or payment. Because of COVID, the restaurant had the tables spaced out enough that there was room on both ends to avoid having their arm 3 inches from my face when reaching for something. One of us never received the dessert they ordered, but we didn't bother asking for it again because it was impossible to find another server. After another 30-40 minutes we were able to finally find someone to get our bills. With the restaurant being as empty as it was, we were confused as to why it took us a while to flag down a staff member. We kindly requested to the server that he spilt the tab, to which he made a very big deal about us not notifying him prior to ordering. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is it not typical for servers to ask if the bills will be split before printing them out? Nonetheless, we held back from any further comments because we didn't want to make a scene and we're not completely inconsiderate... but honestly the service we received was just quite disappointing. Don't get me wrong - the food was great, but the service itself just wasn't what I expected from a place that was rated so well on Google for its service. We definitely didn't feel welcomed for the duration of our dinner and no matter how good the food is, at the end of the day, what customers will remember is how they felt at a restaurant. The 5 of us will likely not be back anytime soon. Perhaps next time we will stick to our other local Italian restaurant for a more pleasant experience.

Frank and the team always make for a very good experience. Traditional Italian favourites, which range across several regions. An award winning wine list includes some good values from the south. Awesome cheese platter at the end of our meal led into a perfect digestif and espresso to conclude.

What an experience.The host was so kind and his duties went well beyond taking menus to the table. He made sure we were comfortable and satisfied. Their prices are very reasonable where 80% of the menu items are less that $20. Even their wine menu was reasonable (many bottles less than $30). The food was fresh and home made. This is what an Italian restaurant should be.

This is my "go to place" in the area. My family and I have always had great experiences at Posticino. Food is fantastic and the staff are great. I have been going to Posticino for over 10 years, and have celebrate family functions and shared many meals with family and friends over the years.

Definitively the BEST Italian food in all of Etobicoke. You won't find anything better than this. After having the opportunity to try most of the dishes on the menu and many of their daily specials, there's no wrong order at Posticinos. The upscale atmosphere that also males you feel comfortable and welcome is one of their biggest assets. High quality food, service and wine selection safely secures their spot as the number one for Italian in the West end!

I have to admit the place is very nice. The staff is great but the food is disgusting. The signature mushroom pasta was so acidic that I couldn't eat it without bread! The fussili chicken pasta was the exact opposite no salt at all and the chicken was so dry it was breaking at a touch of the fork. Shame.

I had a lovely dinner at Posticino in their outdoor dining area at the back. Their tented outdoor dining area had heaters so I was warm. Also, their outdoor tented area had a great ambiance with a chandelier and pretty lights so I had a romantic dinner with my husband. In addition, their tables were nicely spaced out so I felt comfortable despite the ongoing pandemic. Food was yummy. Service was great. Prices were reasonable.

I was not to happy with the food. Service was amazing! Drinks were nice & strong. Both mine and my sisters pastas were under done. We were the last customers, and enjoyed being in a restaurant environment, but the food was not enjoyable at all. If it wasn’t almost the end of the day, we would have sent it back right away, we felt bad… but honestly, that shouldn’t have come out of the kitchen like that.

I really wanted this place to be good. It's in my neighborhood and was excited, based on all the glowing reviews. I was shocked at how bad the food was. I guess you can't "trust" reviews and have to sacrifice your money and time to find out the hard way. Long story short, the steak was the same quality you would find in a breakfast diner, yet you're paying 7 times the price. It was thin, and mostly fat and bone. Hardly any meat. The meat that was there, was diner quality. The shrimp was about a 6 out of 10...didn't seem 100% fresh when I bit in to it. On a more positive note, the service wasn't bad. Despite my horrible dining experience, I still gave her a good tip, as the quality of the food isn't her fault.

I thought this restaurant was very average for an Italian restaurant. They have a great wine selection but only one beer available. My salad was underdressed but had nice arrangement of simple ingredients. The best thing I had was fried calamari. It was fresh and cooked perfectly. I also found it was nicely seasoned. The pasta is not made in house. This is a minus for me... I prefer home made pasta at an Italian restaurant. I had gnocchi with gorgonzola sauce. This was good. It had a nice creamy sauce. It was a good Italian meal but a bit undwealming.

If you recently moved to Etobicoke after living a life in downtown Toronto were you had no shortage of restaurants with delicious food, avoid this place and don't believe any reviews on Etobicoke restaurants. I'm still in shock by how bad this experience was and how much they charge. The complimentary bread was old and basically turned to dust when you picked it up. The portions were small and the quality was underwhelming. If this is considered authentic Italian food then that's upsetting

Had a chance to take a few of my friends to Posticino with great success. Parking's extremely convenient as green P is literally right behind the store. Easy enough to stop in on an evening. We did book a reservation a few days back via phone (heavily recommend to do so) and got to our table extremely swiftly. The servers and management were excellent to us. Received our menus and we were able to get quickly order our food. Ordered the Tagliattele Bolognese, Calamari Fritti, and Cozze Marinara. Food-wise the calamari was a big hit. Perfectly salted and the addition of lemon was great. The pasta dish was great as well. Interesting noodle texture with a sauce that was meaty and delicious. The ability to add chili oil added an excellent kick to the dish without losing any flavor as well. Everything was a big thumbs up here so I would definitely recommend this location as a must visit if you're along Queensway.

A wonderful neighborhood dining and gathering place. Love the bar at the front, the laughter and ambiance surrounding us, and especially the hospitality of the owner. We started with the calamari fritti to share, the Lombada di Vitello Gorganzola (veal) and Orata all a Griglia (fish) as our mains.. and a wonderful house-made pineapple lemon layered cake with cream cheese icing accompanied by espressos! The owner came by an offered us limoncello afterward. What a special treat. This is definitely a place to come if you want to linger as no one is in a rush here! We'll be back! Ciao

We have been to this resto 3 times and enjoyed it alot. 4th visit was not a good experience. Arrived at 6:45. Place wasn't empty but not many patrons. It gets busier closer to 8pm. The problem was Too many wait staff. It felt like they were all waiting for the other guy to take our order, bring our drink order bring bread which took forever to finally arrive...then had to wait for someone else to bring olive oil. Four different wait staff. We finished our drinks way before meal came.(read another long wait) Mains finally arrived. Not one wait staff came back to see if our dinner was fine or to ask if we would like more wine/drinks. We had to get someone coming from the kitchen to ask for dessert and coffee. Dessert came quickly while we waited for coffee. It was another 15 minutes. Then we sat another 20 minutes waiting for the bill. It arrived and we waited again for someone to collect it. After another 15 minutes it was clear that wasn't happening any time soon. Paid cash and left. On the way out not one person actually acknowledged our exit. Extremely disappointed in the service....the food is amazing tho.

Many times I am told about a place and when I arrive I am disappointed. NOT THIS PLACE! The greeting was warm. The parking (after 6), was free. The collection of happy people dining inside gave the place a lovely vibe. Then there was the service... accomodating and attentive. The food was mesmerizing and took me to my childhood and beyond. The feature of smelts were better than even my grandma made (which usually came fresh from the Don River, when it was clean) - and they were tail and bone-free! The bruschetta was delicious. The veal chop was so very tender, jammed with sensitive flavours and topped with.... pistachio's. A side of rotini, hugging the sauce at every curve, topped with basil and sprinkle of parmigiano reggiano, that I believe was a blend. 1 glass of chianti, a sambuca and an espresso and I was done! Then, Chef Antonio came and convinced me to try the tiramisu that was specificall .made, carefully, in-house. That called for another espresso. When they both arrived, I could not get over the feeling of angels dancing on my tongue! A memeorable meal, experience and night! "I'LLL BE BAAAK!"

I feel terrible writing this review during a time where restaurants are struggling to make ends meet with COVID-19 restrictions. My husband and I received gift certificates for this place as a wedding gift; we were excited to try this place out for the first time; upon picking up the food, the restaurant workers were very friendly, and the aroma was incredible! It took about 16 minutes to get home, and we ate it immediately. First, we opened the calamari, and the first impression it looked dry and overcooked; the salad underneath was very unappealing for $20; we were very underwhelmed and didn't even finish it. The steak was cooked perfectly medium-rare but lacked seasoning " I had to add salt, not a good thing, and the fat around the steak was not rendered, making it chewy! The fries were over-fried and on the verge of being burnt that was disappointing, to say the least; at $38, I was expecting it to be amazing but was gravely disappointed not a good first impression for this place, and given our experience we would not be coming back.

The food is tasty and everything we ordered came out well prepared. Try the calamari cause it is cooked perfectly plus the tiramisu for dessert is homemade in house. When you arrive to Posticino, you are always welcomed by one of the owners Frank or Mike. The service is great and the restaurant is quite, clean and you will not be disappointed. I have especially enjoyed their pasta dishes but also truly enjoyed the seafood and meat dishes that they offer. If you want to alter the menu, they will accommodate your request without hesitation. This place is DA BOMB. Best Italian food in the city. The bread was so frikin' good I literally ate 4 LOAVES of it LOL. I deserve it though I've been working out hard. I was in a coma after drenching each slice of bread with olive oil and butter and just couldn't stop eating that heavenly goodness. My body told me to stop but my taste buds said NO. The bread was actually so damn good that when my spaghetti came I handed it over to my sister-in-law because I wanted to solely enjoy the experience of the bread itself. My sister-in-law thoroughly enjoyed the spaghetti as I saw her slurp those noodles up one by one. HOPEFULLY next time she eats a bit quicker though because eating spaghetti one by one TAKES A LONG TIME FYI. Overall, the night was great, everyone's bellies were full, and I established there and then that I'd be back for that DELICIOUS bread.

We were not happy with any of the food we had last night.Salad Tartufata was small, and had way too much balsamic vinegar. Calamaris weren’t fresh, old fish smelly, with excessive balsamic. Cod wasn’t fresh either, smelly, with tin chopped tomatoes.Orochiete Pasta was very basic and way too salty. We asked them to serve us another one that wasn’t salty. Pastas were supposed to come with an olive oil sauce but both had a butter sauce instead! This is an example of an insult to the Italian cuisine. Don’t waste your money! There are other good restaurants in Toronto but definitely not this one!

Had a wonderful Father's Day dinner with the family. Considering the circumstances with covid the staff and team over at Posticino did their finest to create a lovely atmosphere. Food is truly authentic and cooked with passion. You will not be disappointed. Strongly recommend trying the Calamari Fritti.

Disappointing food quality and have to agree with other reviews that the veggie side / potato was a very small portion and inadequate. The red pepper was barely dressed. The pasta fagoili needed further stewing of the tomatoes because it lacked a rich taste. The bread basket was a welcome addition to the table and usually not necessary to add when the food is the expected and appropriate quantity and quality. Would say anyone who has gone to authentic Italian places would agree and could find many other better places. You’re being generous with reviews to rate this place for more than what it is. It’s priced far more than the quality returned. The eggplant Parmesan was served and was burnt in a one and half inch solid cube within it. Totally BLACK and hardened. Sorry but the only way that happens would be that it was microwaved !!! They served and replaced the piece but you would think that a reputable restaurant who wants patrons to be satisfied would have deducted this disgrace from the bill. (Was only $18) Would not ask for this because it meant that I wouldn’t return and was waiting to see if the server / chef/ owner would take care of such an embarrassment to its establishment. It did not and therefore would not return.

I had a fantastic experience at Posticino. I was there for a pre-Leafs game meal (ACC is about a twenty minute drive, with traffic). Posticino was actually recommended to me by a former restauranter - so that is saying something in itself. Resturant itself is very classy. I was concerned that my group could be under dressed in our Leaf attire but our server and John made us feel very welcome. The food was delicious. I had a calamari appetizer as well as a mushroom pasta - and would order both again. Food quantity was excellent. When John found out we were first time visitors, he did something special for us. All in all, this was a great experience, we felt like valued guests and look forward to our next visit. Bravo!

Very average. Caesar salad was sub-par. No Parmesan, no bacon, croutons had artificial aftertaste, romaine was white not green. Ugh! Not worth the trip. Tiramisu was below average. Don’t recommend. Everything lacked presentation. Anyone who was an average cook could do better.

Quality okay, quantity non existent. I got the veal which came 2 tiny pieces of 2 cm thick veal 1 slice potato 1 brocolli for a reasonable price of $35. Can be eaten all in 1 bite.

Wonderful food and service ???? The team was generous: acknowledging our anniversary celebration with complementary bruschetta and limoncello! Very much appreciated. Only fly in the ointment was the manager's refusal to wear a mask ("I don't want to!) - he is, however, fully vaccinated.

Upscale italian restaurant on the Queensway. Posticino is a staple on the Queensway. It has been around for years. The food is old school italian. I would highly recommend the gnocchi. It was unbelievably rich and delicious. The staff is very friendly and very very helpful in the deciding factor for a perfect bottle of vino.

Through COVID, we’ve been ordering takeout through them as well, and we’re not disappointed. Can’t recommend them enough!

Ordered the chicken Parmesan. Totally over cooked. Dark and hard around the edges and dry. Totally obvious but they served it anyway. The sauce quite acidic. Staff friendly but doesnt make up for food quality. Will not eat there again!

I celebrated 2021 birthdays with two good friends and had a wonderful evening catching up, we were never rushed and were well attended to all evening long. When it came to dessert none of us could decide so the solution was given to us (see photo) Highly recommend.

Awful. Made a reservation for 8PM. For a restaurant that claims to be high end, the entrance experience was awful! We walked in and watched two waiters walked by with no acknowledgement twice. If you’re short staffed I understand but a ‘hello I’ll be right with you’ would have sufficed.Disappointed and left.

Posticino has the most authentic Italian dining experience in the GTA. I frequent Rome and I am convinced that the food is comparable to the top Roman cuisine. This restaurant serves some of the best Italian food I’ve eaten outside of Italy.

Great food, very authentic Italian you feel like you're right in Italy when you enter. Do not expect to leave full with just an entree if you arrive hungry as the portions are small. The service is good and the wine list is extensive as you could imagine. Overall I would come again just because the food is very delicious despite small portions.

Found a hair in my Pasta al Pescatore. Told the server and she offered me a smaller portion which I obviously denied (had no appetite anymore). Chef came out trying to explain that it wasn't a hair because he's bold (???) and that's part of some seafood stuff (don't they clean ingredients well?). They charged me the plate in my bill and they included 18% tip because we were a big party. Very disrespectful and disappointing fact. I will never go back to that place
