We offer you the opinions of real people who purchase the services of Mai Bistro (Restaurant) near to the territory of Etobicoke (Canada).
At present this firm receives a score of 4.6 over 5 and that rating has been based on 127 reviews.
As you can see its rating is practically the top, and it's based on a high number of scores, so we can say that the rating is quite accurate. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well with the business, it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to write reviews when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant belongs to the category of Fusion restaurant.
Server attentive and pleasant, good was middle of the road????
Always fresh, always delish. try the daily special.
I love the food here and the service is just wonderful. My faves are the kale salad and the sake maijito. Also enjoy the grilled calamari and fish tacos. The chef came out to say hi and I really appreciated that!
Came to this restaurant because of the interesting fusion. The chef did a great job fusing the 2 cooking techniques/spices together. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't memorable either. We didn't leave hungry that's for sure. I would recommend the Argentinian steak available on the menu. It's worth a try, I don't regret coming here but I don't believe I would return.
Leaning towards the positive on this one. One staff member was great, the other not as much. Can't go wrong with the calamari, grilled shrimp or portobello mushroom (yes, singular), though the shrimp and crab salad wasn't my thing (though pretty af). All in all worth a visit. Take good company.
Amazing food , great dining exeprince and the most authentic experience brought forward by this superb chef. As a vegan ,the food menu was exhaustive. It's very rare to see chefs in action and contantly trying to be honest to bring their culinary adventure s to the plate. I was so impressed when the chef came and explained that "Pad thai "vegetarian has fish sauce and he gladly took it back when we explained that we dont eat fish sauce..this honestly is so appreciable. Keep the great food coming on...
We loves this place
Super sweet waiter, delicious food and quaint atmosphere, loved it
Fantastic food; fresh, and flavourful! Excellent super friendly service. A wonderful dining experience! What a great little find!
Delicious food. The flavours were very unique. The yellow shrimp curry, chimichuri steak and the dessert (Mexican cake and Japanese cheesecake) were amazing! We went on a Wednesday night and it was quite busy. I would make a reservation. One suggestion is to increase the portion sizes. Many of the dishes were on the smaller side, for the price paid (otherwise I would have given it 5 star). I would recommend this restaurant and we will return.
Great food! So much attention was put into every dish, they were beautiful to see and absolutely delicious. We had several tapas but our favourites were definitely the ceviche, grilled fish tacos and the steak and shrimp with frites. It took a while to get our food, but the drinks were prompt and the atmosphere welcoming. We will definitely be going back.
I've had a good time at this restaurant. Amazing food and good customer service with friendly staffs. Food is served very quickly Food recommendations such as: grilled seafood, grilled pork, taco, calamari and daily specialty
Delicious cousin very good service
The Argentine steak was AMAZING. Can't wait to visit again this lovely shared dinner experience.
Love the fusion food they serve!
Fabulous
It was very great! Good food and atmosphere! I got their vegetarian dish! I highly recommend it!
Delicious food, very friendly service family owned place. One of my favorites restaurants in the area.
A pleasant surprise. They actually have a dedicated Gluten Free menu, I just wish they also had Gluten free beer at least just one type. Perhaps I can suggest Glutenberg? The Latin Asian fusion cuisine was a pleasant surprise and very enjoyable. I will definately visit again.
Just came back from this restaurant and my husband and I were very impressed. The service was excellent...friendly, efficient and very accommodating. We had the salmon sashimi special and it was out of this world...so fresh and great flavor! My husband had the steak with hand cut fries and he loved it and I had the Tofu tacos with mango and veggies...fresh, light and tasty. We will definitely be going back again:)
food was soooo goood . staf chef/owner outstanding presentation they care. great value.
New favourite. Everything is delicious.
Mai Bistro has it's own unique charm. From looking from outside, you might quickly pass up this little gem of a place. The food is well prepared and offers a relaxed atmosphere. The service experience is an absolutely friendly and pleasant one. I would most definitely repeat as I am looking forward to trying their other dishes menus and including a Chef special of the day which is not on the menu which I must say was very pleasant and enjoyable one. Come visit this place... I'm absolutely certain that you will NOT be disappointed
Second visit and a bit disappointed, the food was good, however my first experience the food was great. I also noticed the portion and presentation was not the same. I will defo go back, however I hope it’s not on a downward trend as this place is a little gem
Wonderful tapas menu, brilliantly prepared!
Great experience at this restaurant. Friendly staff and delicious food!
Delicious, prompt, and friendly
Really tasty. Loved the lamb spring rolls, ceviche and lemongrass pork.
????????????
I came from Spain for Xmas and got the best paella!!! Thank you and looking forward to next surprise!
I had the fish tacos a few weeks ago and they were delicious! I’ll be back soon.
This place is beyond amazing. Perfect latin asian fusion cuisine. I can really feel the passion of the chef putting into his food. I was so surprised with the warm peaches in red wine served with mango ice cream. It’s definitely the best 5 star dessert that I’ve ever had. I still remember how good is the juicy peaches in my mouth. It would be such a pity if we decided to skip the dessert. Polite staffs and cozy atmosphere suitable for a romantic date night. Mai bistro is the hidden gem!
Very very good food. The Latin-American fusion is like no other. Also, the chef is such a nice person.
Overall an interesting food experience, all the tapas were very good, and the service was good
One of my favourite Toronto restaurants hands down; never disappoints.
Dinner
Amazing argentinian steak and fish tacos and japanese cheese cake to name but a few. Been there at least 6 times and still so much more to enjoy. Hidden gem for real.
Can’t believe this place isn’t always full. Soooo good! Everything is good.
Slow table service but the food was outstanding ????
This place was a random pick for me, and I am very pleased with the overall experience! The fact that the food is a fusion between Latin and Japanese cuisines was intriguing, but what came out on the plates was beyond my expectations and was SO delicious! I would recommend it to everyone!!
Really cozy restaurant, food tasted fresh and delicious. Highly recommend.
Good food at a very fair price. Friendly and polite staff. Our family has enjoyed many meals at Mai Bistro. It is the one restaurant that we compare all other restaurants to.

Had a great family dinner !
Loved my meal, nice quiet atmosphere, friendly staff. I highly recommend!
Asian Fusion... Fun food and excellent.
Wonderful experience here! I was here during the weekend and I found the wait staff to be super friendly and efficient. Oh yeah... the Food was great!
Family booked this restaurant for a 6th birthday party. Good pad Thai and steak. Decent selection of beer as well.
The food and the service were both excellent. Thanks again for another great meal.
Cosy spot with great food. Like the variety and fusion food. All made fresh and very tasty. Nicely plated. Great neighbourhood spot for dinner. Priced well.
Food tastes good. The environment is fantastic. Service is good. But it's expensive.
Great little local spot. The food is delicious with a good variety of items, there is even a large selection of vegetarian options. The chef was very friendly and came out to bring us our dessert which was amazing. My fiancé especially loved the tres leches cake. Overall, we enjoyed it very much and will definitely be back.

Fantastic food!
Pretty great asian-fusion! The portions are very small, so even if you're a table of two, you'll probably end up sharing three or four main tapas, depending on how hungry you are.

Liked the food and the service. Interesting menu with lots of different flavours. Would return.
Tasty food. Interesting menu. Nice desserts
lots of variety, great taste, parking lot behind us also a plus
Amazing food and service, favourite place in the city
This place is a hidden gem and I'm so glad we found it! I've never had a fusion of Asian and Latin blend before and was very curious to try it. The owner/chef is refreshingly passionate about cooking and is super talented. We really appreciate his personal greeting to our table and made our experience here that much better. His dishes are incredibly DELICIOUS! Everything we ordered was perfection and flavorful. Also, if you are vegetarian, make sure you ask for their separate vegetarian menu! ;) It's a tapas style menu, meaning it is meant to be shared dishes, and priced moderately. The atmosphere is nice and a modern touch. I am defintely going to bring my family and friends here next. You have to try this place out if your looking for some good food! A MUST TRY.
Came here for my Mother's Birthday dinner (There was 8 of us). Fantastic food. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was perfect. Will go again
Great place with great service and GREAT food! We had heard about this place from friends and we are very happy we finally tried it. The chef is clearly passionate about his food which makes you love this place even more!
Chef (owner) was a lovely, personable fellow. Food was good. Very busy restaurant.
My daughters birthday and we went out to dine. The chef is very friendly explaining the menu and the food and the dessert is very tasty. Service is very very good too. My daughter enjoyed the food a lot. Pls. try it out yourself. Kudos to the cook !!!
Excellent steak
Hidden gem. One of a kind fusion food and music. Everything freshly cooked. Try the organic lamb spring rolls, tacos and Tres leche cake for desert.
We visited here because of the very positive reviews. The service was good and fast, restaurant was clean and had a good ambiance. We ordered a couple dishes but we did find the food to be pretty bland overall. Everything looked good and the portions were good but everything needed to be more flavorful. Our crispy fish was also not cooked enough it had a soggy texture. The tables are also so close together. There really isn't any privacy if someone is sitting at the table next to you. There chiptole aioli that they served with multiple dishes tasted like mayo and hot sauce mixed together.
We were anticipating our visit to Mai Bistro for a while and we were not disappointed. Cozy atmosphere, nice decor and an unobstructed view of the wonderfully creative chef and kitchen. The tapas we tried were presented beautifully and tasted fantastic. We had the chipotle Tiger shrimp and the grilled steak tacos as a main course and they were delicious. We finished off the meal with a light and fluffy Japanese Cheesecake which was perfect. We will return.
Excellent food. We went with our 20 month old and the chef came out and said hi to him and really made sure his experience was fun. The staff were very nice too. Great food and atmosphere. Will come back soon.
The restaurant was empty when we walked in so it made me a bit nervous but the food was beyond my expectations. Why was it not packed?! Everything was perfectly seasoned. Great Vietnamese flavour. Lots of options on the menu. The crab and shrimp ceviche was my favourite of the dishes we tried. It was listed as a small tapas but it was surprisingly huge. Chef Manh personally served our dishes and talked to us for a brief moment. He has such a sweet soul. Hope for all the best with this restaurant.
My tapas servings were the best that you can enjoy! Everything was so fresh and perfectly prepared. The entire dinner was served and enjoyed in about one hour. If I ever get back into the Toronto area I'll be there again!
Amazing food and service. Must go back!
Meal type
Terrible service and beware when scheduling a big group as the restaurant owners are not honest and will lie to you about what they can offer to you and your party.
Cozy little place with an interesting blend of Argentinian and Asian cuisine, don't be put off by the fusion label all of the food was delicious. Good flavour, good ingredients and cooked perfectly. When we informed of a food allergy, the chef himself came out to discuss alternativea and everything was good!
Wonderful blend of Asian and western food. Great atmosphere for friends and family to share dishes.
Love this restaurant. I wish they offered lunch like they used to. I think people didn't realise there is parking at the back. The food is great. If it is busy the service can be slow.
One of the best fusion restaurants hands down. I've traveled to many countries and the food they make is just as authentic as you can expect. Definitely come visit if you are craving for high quality authentic food. The service is friendly and professional as well.
Amazing fresh Asian fusion food. Lots of small plates to choose from. Great place to go with a few people and pick a few dishes each to share. Staff are very quick and friendly.
Delicious food. Went with a large party and didn't take that long for our orders to be served. The food prices are affordable too. Although the menu is meant to be shareable, the tapas are seem to be more of an individual size portion. Still very good food nonetheless
Manh is a brilliant fusion chef ... Asian / Latin. New local favourite...
Delicious food! We went on Valentine’s eve, didn’t have a reservation, but they still accommodated us and we thank them for that. Vegan or Vegetarian? Ask for the separate menu they have just for you! Being on a time crunch (because they fit us into their busy night) we only ordered large tapas, having an entree sized dish each. I ate the jerk tofu steak with mango salsa. The spices were super flavourful and the tofu had a unique chewiness like I’ve never had before. We’re planning to go again with a group for more of a tapas sharing experience. Would definitely recommend.
Fantastic dinner, as always. We just love Mai Bistro. The Argentine steak is our favourite, but we happily share(as is intended at Mai) and order mango salad, tiger shrimp, the Portobello mushroom and tacos. We usually love the fish tacos but tried the pork tacos this time and will now have a hard time deciding which ones to order next time. You will enjoy your meal here!
Great food, great service, clean and modern interior, good location, reasonable prices. I've tried a number of restaurants in Etobicoke and this is my favourite. The chef and staff were very friendly and very accommodating. We're definitely going back.
Truly a great eating experience. I have many food allergies and need to eat healthy. This lovely bistro, with it's very warm and friendly atmosphere, is just the place. The food is prepared with care, and can be suited to your needs. Fabulous flavours without the heavy, greasy, and "unhealthy additives" most other restaurants have. Nearly everything is made from scratch; fresh! Best part.....my digestive system is happy after eating there! I highly recommend this lovely little bistro.
Excellent food and service. It is a gem in Etobicoke.
One of the best places to eat in Islington Village. We often pop in here for lunch and can’t believe it isn’t busier. The food is delicious. I’v never had a bad meal and the staff is incredibly friendly.
Best restaurant in etobicoke. Great service, amazing dishes and an amazing chef.
Always excellent service and the food is extraordinary. The chef is very friendly.
Enjoyed the ambience, service & food!
My wife and I were intrigued by this new restaurant, and went by last week. It was empty while we were there, but we were told they only opened last Thursday. It will take a little while to get their name out there (I can't find their website, but am sure they had one) StillI have a feeling they won't remain empty for long! We had the Shrimp & Crab Wonton Ceviche, Green Papaya Salad with Home-made Beef Jerky and Fish Tacos with tomatillo salsa and Avocado. All were delicious and served attentively. In fact, our only complaint with the service, was we were served a little too fast! The chef even came out to deliver the jerky I had asked to take-home. He let us know it had been made fresh in-house and not to let it sit in the fridge. I ate it the next day and it remained delicious. We will be back and recommend anyone in the neighborhood pay them a visit.
Delightful!!
Lively little gem. Enjoyed calamari and grilled figs with prosciutto.
Service
Best chef ever ☺️
Great food, great staff, top notch chef. Try the jerk fish w/fries
cool food
Love this place. The food is fresh and delicious. So many healthy options. Have gone here many times with my husband and along the way brought friends and family, they all love the food here. Friendly chef. Love their specials too. The lamb meatballs yesterday was delicious! Highly recommend.
Great food and quick service. The chef is awesome. He came out a few times to check on things and have a quick chat.
Fantastic. What a pleasant surprise. Mixed culture cooking between Vietnamise and Spanish. The Mexican sponge cake with 3 milk sauce was supreme.
I don't think I've ever seen a Vietnamese Latin fusion restaurant, but it works at this casual but candlelit spot. Lime and cilantro tie a lot of those region's flavours together. A good example is banh mi-style grilled pork tacos. We're also talking real corn tortillas here. The food is designed to be shared. The menu is a bit busy and could use a visual redesign, but the servers happily help navigate the sections and portions. The chef is incredibly friendly and candid. He has popped out on more than 2 occasions, when the evening winds down, to check how we enjoyed the food and once shared his new matcha ice cream he had just made. Another great Islington staple.
Service
Amazing place.
Great food this is a must exelance service
*** BIASED REVIEW **** (My wife and I have both worked here) So from an insider's perspective, we enjoy the food so much we like to start our date nights off at Mai Bistro. We love everything on the menu, but here are some of our favourites below. How can you go wrong with a grilled Argentina style steak with chimichurri butter, chicken pad Thai with fresh salsa and to finish it off a Japanese cheesecake made in house by Chef. They also offer a few different local craft beers, Ontario wines and a signature cocktail aptly named "Maijito".
Amazing food and service! We had grilled calamary, steak salad, steak and desert and to be honest all of those were AMAZING! Really looking forward to come back again! Thank you so much!
So delicious ????. We will be back soon ????
Absolutely loved lunch. We split some edamame & home cut fries for an appetizer and I had their fish tacos while my friend had their mango salad. Then we split the Japanese cheese cake. The combination was amazing and the coffee was even tasty too. Best lunch I've had out in a long while!
The food here is beautifully presented and tastes amazing. Small and large plates make for fun sharing with others. We were a group of 6 but I would go again with a smaller group or on my own. Our group met for lunch and all commented on the warm welcoming service and a bill at the end that did not make you gasp. Gluten free options were available and the staff were very attentive to meeting this requirement. Do not skip dessert! I hardly ever have dessert at restaurants but would not have wanted to miss the light and delightful house favourite.
Delicious, fresh and a great dinner for 7 of us. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Great selection of meal options.
Interesting menu with Asian and Spanish fusion and somewhat tappas style. Went with a work group and we shared Crispy Fried Calamari with chipotle aioli $13, Chipotle chicken with guacamole, crispy tortilla $12 and Edamame with Japanese chili sea salt $7. Yes , deep fried is all good and seems like a redundant menu item. The large tapas I ate was good also, Grilled spicy Jerk fish with mango salsa and hand cut fries fries $20 except the fish was burnt and broken apart when plated. Others had Pad Thai special $14 which was well liked. Service was attentive. Place was hopping as it got later after 8pm on a Monday night. I am being generous with 4 stars as prices are a bit high, maybe $1-2 less is the sweet spot?
The Argentinian steak was really good. The fusion style was interesting, but wasn’t the most memorable.
Great food and especially friendly staff. I liked the ambience too, wasn't too loud. Great for groups to share plates. Worked out to about 35-40 per person
Can't wait to go back for the incredible service and delicious, fresh food! We loved every single mouth watering bite of food. The chef is very talented in creating an unusual fusion of Latin and Asian tapas! The restaurant is a little bit dated but the food certainly makes up for the ambiance. A true gem!
3.5 stars I saw a $10 deal with AsialiciousTO for 3 Vietnamese style pork tacos with asian slaw and salsa. Since we were kind of in the area we decided to eat here. There's paid street parking on both sides of the street. I did read a review that there's complimentary parking behind the restaurant though. Mai Bistro has a small patio out front that's covered and indoor seating as well. We opted to sit on the patio. Since it was our first time at the restaurant the waitress explained the various menus to us. There was a written menu for Today's Specials and some of them were crossed out. I'm guessing that those items have already sold out. I saw a photo of the menu from a couple of years ago and in comparing with the menu from the other day I can see that prices have increased for some dishes. To me, prices veer on the higher side. The grilled lemongrass pork with rice and asian slaw was $22 and the shrimp ceviche with fresh salsa and avocado on a crispy tortilla was $11. My Vietnamese style pork tacos were a good deal for $10. Even at the regular price of $14 the price isn't too different from tacos at other restaurants. The pork was flavourful and portions are like what I found from food trucks in LA (but leave you wanting more).
This is a great little bistro in Etobicoke, husband and wife owned and run. Really good food and service, just a great experience. When I'm in Etobicoke I will always support this great little bistro...you should too!
Ask for the vegetarian menu, they don't always bring it. Get the salad rolls and any grilled fish dish especially fish tacos. Get service, tapas style.
First time visiting and had a tasty dinner of fried calamari, Argentinian steak and shrimp curry. The breading on the calamari was nice and light and the curry flavours were fantastic.
This place is outstanding! The "share your plate" style allows you to try multiple tasty dishes as long as you bring a friend or two! The tacos our my favorite dish. The chef has a passion for food and it shows! I will keep coming back.
Rude waitress. Will never to go this place again because of her.
Food was much better than your average Etobicoke spot. It was not only delicious but reasonably priced. The jerk fish and calamari are a must try. Their sake vodka mojito was a refreshing pairing.
Was served a dish with an ingredient I cannot eat and was not listed on the menu or I would have requested it not be included. Chef refused to remake the dish unless I paid for another meal. Which means, I was expected to pay for the dish I would not eat. Received quite a bit of attitude when I requested the server take away the dish and that I would not pay for a meal I would not be enjoying. Unpleasant experience all around. One person I was with ordered an $18 shrimp meal with three shrimp served.
Great food! Thai and Latin American make a wonderful combination.
Fantastic food, great atmosphere, and awesome service. Also, the chef is a true gentleman. Love coming here and have recommended to my family and friends. Get the tres leches cake for dessert, it;s the best!
Great music and food. A friendly chef gives this place a charm that makes for the ideal night out for that perfect date.
Excellent food and service. Must visit again.
Amazing fusion tapas from a Vietnamese Intercontinental chef trained in Caracas.
Thank you Mai Bistro for your support with Rotary. Rotary Club of Toronto West, (out of Montgomery's Inn) runs a empty bottle drive, and we thank you for your donation of your empty wine, beer and liquor bottles!
One of the best cuisine and service in town - a real gem of Etobicoke.
Amazing food, friendly service, clean and tidy, nice decor. Ate here 3 times and am coming regularly now, highly recommended!
Cozy spot, decently sized. Menu is all sharing dishes with an Asian influence. Really solid, service was great!
Amazing food and service. Perfectly balanced flavors. Better then expected (I tried Chipotle chikken and Yello curry)
Vegetarian friendly, staff was so lovely, food was amazing! Highly recommend.
Very good food. Tapas is always more expensive in my experience but this place is reasonable for a tapas restaurant. Interesting mix of Thai and South American cuisine.
Inventive chef, great service, good value
Was told by by the server that the crab was not fresh, and that it came from a can. Felt like I was ripped off as I was paying quite a bit only to be served by canned food. Better to spend your money elsewhere.
Come here every January for our Anniversary. My wife and I love the atmosphere and the friendliness from Chef & staff. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fine dining experience with tremendous food!!!
Great food, great service!
Loved the fusion styled meal. Was very different. The dessert was delicious and the place was very clean. Only feedback would be to heat the place a bit more in winter.
Absolutely love this restaurant and the unique Asian-latin fusion style food. The owner was extremely friendly and warm. The ambience of this place is lovely as well as the staff and the exquisite food! We ordered the chicken pad thai, pork rice dishes and Japanese cheesecake. They all tasted so good and savoury. I'll definitely be coming back to try out the other dishes. Would definitely recommend this hidden gem to anyone looking to go for a nice romantic dinner with some great food.
With an award winning chef behind the helm Mai Bistro delivers a diverse offering of Asian/ Spanish Tapas that will satisfying the timid to adventurous eaters. All offerings are perfectly portioned and shouldn’t leave your wallet feeling empty or your belly. I will return again to see what Chef has come up with next.
(Translated) Best place I never eat, you must try. Best place I have ever eaten, you must try (Original) Best place I never eat, you must try. Meilleur place que j'ai jamais manger, vous devez essayer
Chef Manh and his team were excellent. Friendly service, and incredible selection of creative dishes. The food presentation was just as wonderful as its taste. Well done team Mai! they also have a free kitchen outside the premises where one can leave non-perishable items for those in need. Well done.
We have been twice. Great food. Great ambiance. Great service. Brought friends for lunch the second time and they loved it as well. Had the fish tacos, the steak tacos, the grilled squid, a chicken dish, the home made nachos, the fries. All wonderful. Definitely on our favs list. Being new to the neighbourhood, they took the time to welcome us and recommended we also try Vila Napoli across the street which we also loved. Great spot and we will definitely be back.
Very good. I got a salad for my lunch. Beef Thai salad..It was delicious. Also my server was extremely pleasant and attentive. I would come back and recommend this place to others. Its a classy restaurant so make sure to look nice.
I wasn't as impressed with the quality of service or the food itself as some of the other reviewers. The cuisine is an interesting attempt at fusing Spanish and Asian cuisine but the quality varies greatly between different dishes. Lots of deep fried dishes that taste like McDonalds. Lastly, at $15 per small tapas and $25 per large, I didn't feel that the quality of food was reflective of the price.
Interesting menu, felt a tad overpriced tho.
Great food, amazing service. Perfect for a date and also great for groups.
This is a cool little place with interesting dishes. The jerk fish was grilled calamari were my two favourite things on the menu. I feel like the 5 star ratings are given because of the location. This is definitely one of the better places in the area but there are much better places if you are willing to travel a little closer to down town Toronto. In either case, its worth trying.
Excellent food! A hidden gem.
Love the food here the chicken karagae had the best batter coating and the steak tacos were Delicious
An Asian/Argentinian fusion joint. Dishes are on the smaller scale - almost tapas sized so the bill can add up quickly. Grilled proteins are recommended, especially the squid.
This is our spot now great service and atmosphere
Tasty, fresh, creative dishes. Perfect neighbourhood bistro!
Superb place and I'm obsessed with their wine menu, a little bias since it has so many of my favorites at very affordable price points. All the dishes ive tried are great playful fusions.
Food is great, service is slow.
Delicious food.
Very good food and service. Quite affordable. Tacos were great. We'll be back when we get babysitting. :)
An original approach to fusion, this place has a bit of everything: Mexican, Japanese, Thai, Argentinian. Taste is great, and presentation is second to none. Despite its small size, the place manages to give diners a comfortable, spacious experience. Staff is friendly and efficient. Prices are on the high side, but well worth it.
It has been a while since I went to Mai Bistro because of the pandemic but I remember how much I enjoyed their steak. My friend and I decided to have dinner at this restaurant. To start with, we had grilled portabello mushroom with goat cheese and sun dried tomatoes served with green salad with ginger dressing. For the main course we ordered Grilled Argentina style steak, chimichurri butter and hand cut fries. I asked if it is possible to substitute fries with green salad and my request was nicely accommodated. The steak was so flavourful, seasoned well, tender and cooked to perfection. The chimichurri added to the steak just made it more delightful to the palate. The hand fries was so good and not oily my friend finished them. The dressing of the green salad was so light and tasted so good. For dessert we had tres leches cake topped with whipped cream and pomegranate. It was soft, moist, not so sweet and so delicious. The staff, Rachel provided excellent customer service. The restaurant is clean, the fork and knife wrapped in fabric napkins which I seldom see in small restaurants. Mai Bistro serves food so tasteful that we will surely go back to this restaurant to try other menus. The Chef does an amazing job doing Asian food with Latin flavour, such excellent fusion cuisine.
Outstanding food! Had a amazing meal. The lemongrass pork was so delicious, I will be back for more.
Fusion Asian+Spanish Tapas style. Served in small portion but great taste. Good ambiance. Good for dates. A little pricey hence the 4 stars. Chef is award winning chef in TO
