So first off Danial and Sel and of course Sue making all the drinks were unreal! Always ask for them .Great service not even the water glasses go under half. Appetizers were mouth watering. The mains including the lamb, chicken parm and steak along side the fish (sea bass) unreal !! Definitely recommend coming here for a bite and a drink !

Excellent food and service. Romantic fine dining setting. One of the best wine menus in the city. I loved my escargots, which they served in a melted cheese (in contrast to most other places, which serve it only in garlic butter) and my pasta. My kids loved their pasta and the staff was great with them. My husband loved his lamb. The sorbet for dessert is homemade and absolutely delicious.

WOW! Went to Grappa last night for Summerlicious. My husband and I had a fantastic dinner. The fish cakes were moist and delicious, the smoked duck ragu was amazing so was the trout. Creme brulee was perfect! $25 each for a first class dinner. Can't really beat that. Will definitely go back!

The food in this place good but not over the top great. Fine ambience with a decent service. Gnocchi, lamb rack and Chilean sea bass are some of the must try and the hummus with the corn bread they serve right at the start was a hit with me. All in all, a good experience but competitively speaking, I’ve had better.

A group of us had planned a surprise birthday dinner for our friend. Grappa is one of her favourite restaurants, as she loves their veal chop entree. When I called to pre-order (Covid style), I was told by Daniel that they no longer had that dish on the menu, but he would ask the chef to order it for us. What amazing customer service! We had our dinner party last night and our meal arrived; unfortunately, not all the entrees were present. I called Grappa and Daniel came on the line, apologizing for the mixup and immediately sending a staff member with the forgotten entree. As we hadn't been charged for this item initially, I said I'd pay the driver upon arrival, which Daniel adamantly refused. Our meals were fantastic; our friend relished her veal chop dinner and we all agreed that Grappa continues to offer fabulous food, while providing excellent customer service!

This is one of my favourite restaurants. Everything is made to order using authentic recipes and the proper amount of time to develop the flavours. We hosted many family events and parties here as well. The staff is very courteous and knowledgeable on the menu and drink pairing. You will not be disappointed.

Maitre'd and bartender were not masked. When addressed, maitre'd said it made him uncomfortable to wear one. Stayed away from us for the rest of the night. Had a burata dish, and foie gras. Foie gras was paired with some fruit, really excellent quality and texture. Burrata was unremarkable. Had another dish that I honestly don't recall.

Absolutely great experience. Parking although is a bit tough, although if you go after 6PM parking is free on the street. We went for Winterlicious recently and the food was great. Service was very good, and the waiters were always very attentive and always made sure the water and or your food was good. Portions were great. I had the Eggplant Parmesan, Pork Tenderloin and Creme Brûlée. Everything was great, tasted awesome and the portions were very generous. Husband had the Shank and thought it was yummy. Overall we give this place 9/10 and the pricing was amazing considering its only $25.00 for dinner for a three course. Def will be back.

We are a party of seven. The ambiance is very relaxing, decor is simple but appealing. The waiters are so nice and attentive, i must say that the service/waiters and the owner are very friendly. The food is delicious and big servings. Some of us had the fix price menu and some preferred a la carte. The bottle of wine is priced well not too expensive. All in all, we were all happy, satisfied. I will definitely go back and recommend to all my friends. Thank you Grappa for making our family early Christmas dinner special!

Worse service that I have experienced. My family had raved about the food & service being fantastic and became regular repeat customers, so we decided to have my mother's bday there. We had a party of 18. It took a total of 4.5 hours from our arrival to our departure. The appetizers were amazing and I would give that 5 stars. Our main course came 1.5 hours later overcooked. 3 of us at our end of the table ordered beef tenderloin medium rare and it was overcooked to medium well. Other entrees were served without cutlery not being replaced after the appetizers. Desert arrived over an hour later and my cappuccino came 40 minutes after my dessert. To top it off, I brought my cappuccino back to either the manager or owner who was behind the bar and I said that it is cold, not even lukewarm. His reply was " cappuccinos are supposed to be cold, lattes are hot" Really?!!!! It only took 5 minutes to replace my cappuccino, which came back correct. Why did it take 40 minutes for the first one. The last decaf coffee arrived 10 minutes after mine and ended up as a decaf latte. My uncle drank it anyway, because he didn't want to wait for another 50 minutes again. At least 5 other drinks were missed with dessert and had to be reordered. I highly do not recommend for a large group due to the lack of detail and poor service received. My whole family was very disappointed and will most likely not be returning as regular repeat customers.

Our experience is always very enjoyable in that it is a leisurely dinner. The food is served at a pace that allows you to savour, enjoy and chat with your company. Food and wine selections are wonderful. Dinner at Grappa is not just a meal but an evening to enjoy. Further, the wait staff makes certain guests enjoy their visit to Grappa.

I stumbled upon this restaurant when I was looking for a new Italian restaurant to try and this was pretty close to me. Ordered my first dish about a month ago and it was delicious. So good that I ended up ordering from Grappa again the very next day! The gentleman that I spoke to over the phone on both occasions and delivered the food and payments had great customer service skills. I believe he's the owner. It was a very nice treat to be able to try their tiramisu which was also tasty. I'd like to thank the gentleman for the excellent service. I definitely will come back again to try more dishes on the menu.

No pizza here, only fresh, authntic, and perfectly prepared meals paired with comprehensive and imported wines from around the world. Probably the best grilled calamari and fettucini in the city. The maple Salamon and Penna Cotta can compete with the best. Grappa is the perfect place to savour real fine delicious Italian cuisine. It is also perfect for special occasions or entertaining friends and family. A rarity in a city full of boutique pizzerias.

My friend and I ordered the sea bass.. Must have been an off night. Fish was luke warm. Service was very slow and it was not overly busy. Mistake was not sending it back. But at $40. It should be hot. No excuse.

This is my favourite restaurant in Etobicoke. They are very accommodating in regards to allergies and their food is always delicious. What truly shines about this restaurant though is the attentive, warm service.

Very disappointed! Let's start from walking in. Made reservations for 8pm, and was greeted by who may have been the manager. Another couple walks in about 5 mins AFTER us asking if tables were available, said "manager" walks up, kisses them on the cheek and seats them at a table as we remained standing there. Should have been my first clue. The appetizer funghi salad was outstanding ...and it went downhill from there. Ordered the veal scaloppini and mushroom risotto, when it arrived, the visual appeal on plating the food was worse than the taste. It looked like blobs of food (pic attached). Not something I would expect in a fine dining restaurant. Risotto was extremely undercooked (crunchy). The veal had gravy on it (terrible) when the menu said "jus", not sure they knew the difference. The vegetables undercooked. Bad all around. No one came to check in on the table, ask us how the meal was going, refill our water/drinks. Did I mention there is probably only about 25 tables In the whole place. Terrible service. When the server FINALLY came to the table (20'mins later and after we were done eating) we mentioned the rice issue and she offered "to have them cook the rice for longer". I said "I didn't think they could do that", her response "it's risotto, yes you can". I kindly declined. SMH. No manager came over, didn't offer a dessert/coffee, didn't fix the bill. Nothing. The place has a sense of arrogance and was not worth it at all! Decor was nothing spectacular and the lights in the entrance kept dimming in/out, which must of been annoying for those seated in that area. Parking is a challenge. Would not recommend Good luck!

Everything was absolutely amazing from the atmosphere, to the service, to the amazing fresh food. When you sit down you get house made hummus and warm bread, which was by far the best hummus I've ever had! I had the daily roasted red pepper soup and gnocchi and I couldnt have asked for a better meal. My partner had the peppercorn steak and also loved it. We will definitely go back!

I was very surprised at how great this restaurant was for a group event that my wife had organized. We had a party of 35 and 5 kids for a baptism. The communication between us and the resturant before hand was great. David being our contact. Once arriving the staff was very courteous and attentive to all of our guests needs. The house wines were very good as we had a few wine snob attending. The food: There were many options and they were all hits. All of our guest were impressed. The ambiance was great and we had the whole right side of the resturant in a private area. I look forward now to visiting for a proper dinner for two as we were really impressed. Thanks Grappa

This restaurant has fabulous food and great ambiance. I love the fact that you can make a reservation and they honor it, even on weekends. I would highly recommend this restaurant. It has become one of my favorite italian restaurants in Etobicoke. The wine list is also quite exceptional. I love the fact that they display their selections of wine on a table in the front hallway of the restaurant which allows you to peruse them yourself. Great service and great food. Try it! You won't be disappointed.

A well run business by a family who loves what they do. Their staff are outstanding, in fact the same fr 20 yrs ago of course newer faces are here too. Life at Lavarano Tiny Lakehouse

Searched online for local restaurants, this one had really good reviews, and the food totally deserves 5 stars. To give you an idea, the bread comes in 5 varieties, each had their own unique taste, coupled with not just your ordinary butter, instead you'll get their own special paste. Had Calamari as our starter. Turns out their calamari is NOT deep fried!! Very pleasant surprise there. Non-breaded calamari is pan seared (I think), combined with a nicely done bruschetta, its delicious. I had a seafood risotto, and my girlfriend had a minced meat pasta. Very good main course with filling portion. We shared a Tiramisu as dessert, again, really really good. The only flaw is the waitress. (I think she might be one of the owners) She's pretty nice along the way, but wasn't very engaging to us. So for service I would give a 4/5. Overall very pleasant experience, great food with very reasonable price. Our bill for 2 was $57 after tax. We didn't order any wine. Will definitely go back again

Great Italian restaurant with excellent tasting dishes. We ordered the Veal & Shrimp with Fettuccini Alfredo and a Bolognese. Pasta was al dente and veal was incredible. Shrimp although great had the intestinal thread still in and not removed; nonetheless tasty. Overall a pleasant experience with truly friendly staff. Note, this place may not be suitable for children.

Had a fabulous dinner for our date night at Grappa. The restaurant has a fine casual decor with proper lighting that wasn’t too bright and even while fully occupied, were were able to have a normal conversation. Had a fabulous dinner for our date night at Garppa. The grilled calamari was tender and nicely glazed with a slightly sweet sauce. The veal scaloppini with lemon butter sauce was tender and a nice portion of vegetables. The fillet mignonette was perfectly cooked as requested and was melt in your mouth tender, again with an appreciated generous portion of vegetables. Delectable Tiramisu was wonderful with a cappuccino. The Masi Rosso went very nicely with the meal. Service was excellent from Daniel and owner David took the time to speak to all the guests in the full dining room.

I went to this restaurant today for my dad's birthday with a reservation for 5pm. There was a big party before and we were left in the front lobby for 30 minutes waiting and I had to go inside and ask someone why no one had tended to us for such a long time. The girl responded "Can't you see that it is busy! We'll get to you!" in mid-stride and scampered off. After another five minutes we were seated at a table for four, which was far too small for our party of six. The humus they served was dried out like it had been sitting for hours and the bread had gone stale. As explained by our waitress, it was made for the group before at 1 pm and is usually warm. OK. Duly-noted. The appetizers, mains and desserts were all great. After the screaming children (it was like a high-end Chuck-e-Cheese for 45 mins with kids running around untended) left, the atmosphere was nice as well. I've never been treated so poorly at a restaurant by its staff. And we never once got an apology. Maybe what my group experienced was a one-off bad day, but I doubt I'll be coming back.

One of our favorite Italian restaurants in Toronto. It's a local neighborhood gem for us. All dishes are made fresh to order. And they're very accommodating. We've literally never anything we don't love. The smoked chicken and smoked bacon in cream sauce is probably our favorite thing. Although the sea bass is also awesome. Staff is incredibly friendly and make it an amazing experience even if you bring your kids on a busy weekend night.

Accompanied with the right amount of sides, the kitchen staff never fails to disappoint. The home made bread and home made hummus are both delicious. The wine selection is excellent, our waiter Daniel always picks the perfect bottle to accompany our dinner. He knows his wines! The Waiters/busboys are all very nice, filling up our water and checking the tables to see if everything is okay. Very attentive, even when it is a busy night. We have been eating at Grappa for years and we have recommended Grappa to our friends, they have had only good things to say! Pricing is fair, great dollar value for your food. Definitely worth the drive to Etobicoke.

What an amazing night with 5+ stars service! I can't think of another restaurant that goes out of their way to make you feel like family as Grappa did Friday night. We started with a beautiful Syrah by the glass and moved into a 2006 Amore David had recommended and it was right on point. The wine list had great options at every price point. We had the Winterlicious menu and I have to say it was soo good we can't wait to go back! Everything just tasted amazing: the bread, chicken, venison, and especially the creme brulee...I can still hear the crunch of the sugar. Ingredients were fresh, portions were a good size and very affordable. This is a hidden gem. You won't be disappointed!

My husband and I visited Grappa on the Queensway when we were in Toronto for a wedding last week. We were blown away with how everything was amazing. Everything. The atmosphere was relaxing and classy, the decor was lovely, the waiters were exceptionally polite and knowledgeable, and the food was INCREDIBLE! I ordered the Fettuccine with angus beef and tiger shrimp; the white wine sauce was TO DIE FOR. If I could make sauce like that I would eat pasta for the rest of my life. We also ordered a Californian ZInfandel wine; PERFECT. You can tell that this restaurant is family run and that it is their baby. They put so much love and attention into everything they do and they take such good care of every guest. On top of ALL of this, the prices are very reasonable. The average price for a main course was $20 and it is a LOT of food and VERY high quality. If you're thinking of going to the Keg, go to Grappa instead. We would make it a monthly visit at the least if we lived in Toronto.

Tonight we dined at Grappa and have nearly never had as amazing experience as we did tonight. They were so very accommodating - when adjusting the lighting to set the ambiance, we kindly asked that they leave it well lit in our area. The service was very efficient and prompt. Not to mention, the kitchen accommodated our large party of 14 with no errors and with everyone getting exactly what they ordered. Our serve was extremely polite. We've been visiting this restaurant for the past 5 years with family and just as a couple; we've always had good experiences up until our last visit on Feb 14. I understand that it is a busy evening but it doesn't excuse our food being late up to 1.5 hours after our appetizers and the waiter being extremely rude to us. Not once were we asked how our meal was, and the only time he had spent more than 5 seconds longer with us was when we were paying for our bill. The owners have remained the same, but the wait staff have changed, too many bus boys and not enough servers, waiters, and clearly the back of the house (cooks) was not adequate enough as a lot of customers' meals were late. They've also raised their prices significantly and changed the menu. Grappa will no longer be our top choice of visit anymore, I do recommend visiting Luci just half a block east.

My parents and I went to Grappa last night based on the good reviews. Reviewers were not mistaken. All three of us had absolutely fabulous meals, and my Mom never enjoys eating out but loved everything. I had the octopus starter and a special of foie gras ravioli, which was hands down delicious. Our server, Robert, was the perfect combo of attentive but not overbearing. The service was comprable to some Michelon starred restaurants I've been to. On top of all that, the owner even came over to our table to make sure everything was ok. My husband couldn't make it but we got a takeout dish for him, and Robert made sure it was perfectly timed to arrive warm with our bill. He even sent us home with bread for my hubby. He absolutely loved his meal at home (the lamb gnocchi). No complaints, will definitely return.

Wonderful experience. It was not very busy when my girlfriend and I visited. Prices were fair, food was beyond my expectations, service was very prompt and attentive, atmosphere felt like it was a family - run business (as it is) but it was definitely an upscale place. My rating is based mostly on the exceptional service by Dominic (sp?) who was very friendly and set a great vibe for the evening. It was a not a busy night (only 5 or 6 tables) so we got a lot of attention. The carpaccio and the penne abruzzo met my expectations (didn't exceed though). Best food was the crusty bread and super garlic-y hummus. Minor issue was based on the lighting angles my head would cast a very dark shadow over my plate. Was difficult to see my meal.

Delicious and generously portioned food, a classy ambience, and professional, friendly service. I recommend the grilled octopus appetizer to start, it was cooked to perfection which shows skill because octopus is tough to cook! The mushroom risotto and salmon entree were highlights as well. They give you corn bread and bread at the start, but to be honest I found the corn bread a bit too salty. The hummus was delicious but I also wish there was just plain butter or house made cultured butter to accompany the bread. Overall I'd definitely come here again!

Great take on traditional Italian staples. Really enjoyed the service and attention to detail here. We were seated at a bit of an odd table that was different from the rest of the restaurant in the further back corner. It was a bit dark and the table and chairs were awkwardly positioned. But the service and food more than made up for it. Delicious homemade bread started the meal, and my dish of a sea bass was perfectly cooked and paired with seasonal vegetables. My companions had wine that the waiter suggested and they enjoyed that pairing immensely. I don’t often eat Italian, but I would definitely eat here again.

We called to try and order take out, assuming there would be no way we could get a table in the restaurant. Was just there for June 19th, 2016 for my mothers birthday and fathers day celebration. The atmosphere of the restaurant was excellent. Servers were attentive and good with checking in on how the meal was going. Ordered off of the grappalious menu they had. Personally I had the venison which was excellent, and my tiramisu was great as well. The house red wine paired really well with the food. The owner even went one step further as he did bring out a few of the dishes and de-boned the sardines for the salad. The experience was excellent.

The food was very good, as was the wait service. HOWEVER, the fact that I had to remove half a tooth pick from my mouth whilst eating a caesar salad was not good at all. I had scallops, beef side ribs and they brought me both a piece of carrot cake and chocolate lava cake which were amazing.. this definitely is gonna be on my regular rotation from now on.. Check it out.. you won’t be dissatisfied Returned her on nov 5 and just had to include that dining experience as well.. went for three different dishes (burrata w tomatoes and prosciutto, pasta w bolognese and crème brûlée cheesecake). I make my own bolognese and have ordered in many restaurants but the sauce at grappa was the best I have ever tasted.. the app and desert were also too notch. Prices are what you would expect for a 5* meal so don’t go here if you don’t want 5* quality

Went here for a business lunch a while back. The food was good and was about average for what you might expect from an independent, authentic Italian restaurant might deliver. The beef carpaccio and the salmon were unbelievable. I think this may have been the best salmon I have ever had.

First time here. Excellent service - from booking a reservation right through to leaving the restaurant. We felt welcome and were very well taken care of. Everyone enjoyed their meals, and they accommodated very graciously to my son.
