The salad looked like it was just poured out of a bag. They only put a small amount of salad dressing over the middle of the plate. They only have one type of spaghetti, ie. no angle hair or vermachelli. The chicken parm was okay, but maybe on the over done side. Not a very large selection of Italian dishes on the menu.

Love the place and really love the food!! The only reason for not giving it more stars is for the 2 locations in Edmonton!! Right downtown in a very scummy part of town, and West Edmonton Mall!! I hate WEM!! I really wish they would get a new location. I would definitely go there more often!!!

We usually go here to celebrate birthdays and have a large group just about every time. It is very reasonable for everyone, we love that soup/salad, coffee and ice cream is included with your main course and you get free warm sourdough loaf of bread to start! The pasta is very good. The chicken and mushroom fettuccini is delicious. The spumoni ice cream is a nice treat to end the meal! Great service every time!

I had amazing service the other day. Our server was attentive and anticipated our needs. The meals are great value (soup or salad + main + ice cream). I recommend the Manager's Special (mizithra cheese with spicy sauce). It's a great combination.

I frequently go here for lunch with my coworkers. Prices are good, food and service are excellent. Pasta is done perfectly, although some sauces and dishes are sometimes under salted. Staff is friendly and owner or manager has a good sense of humour.

4.2 out of 5. Foods and products: The price is a bit high but your soup or salad plus ice cream after the meal is included. The only thing I could see that would be an improvement would be is to include the drink as well into the price. As well as the up charge for Caesar salad is kind of ridiculous. Since the times have changed with most restaurants, Caesar salad is usually not up charged at most other places. The bread they give to start and keep bringing out is very delightful though, warm and fresh. The menu could use an update as well but definitely try to keep most the original items if you do decide to update. Customer service/restaurant look: The staff was very polite and friendly. Definitely a well organized crew for a Friday evening when they are busy. Kudos for that because I know it can get tricky with different orders and especially at a location where kids orders can get complicated. It may improve for speed if you install drink dispensers at some of the waiters rest locations where they put the big trays down. I've seen this at locations where they experience high volumes of customers and this location definitely would benefit greatly from a few of those installed.

I haven't really been here, but my mother was there last night on a date, and she brought me home some Lasagna and some of the bread that she didn't finish. Oh. My. God. That was the best lasagna I've ever had, and the bread with the garlic butter was just so good! Can't wait to actually go in and try something fresh out of the kitchen.

It might be the time that I went and the date (8pm on sunday). But the soup was very salty and the salads were not fresh at all. Also the drinks were very blend with barely carbonated. Food was not bad tho but everything else was not what I expected.

Great service here and my 12yo son and I have a great time whenever we go. The food isn't quite amazing, but it is decent and it's more about the experience. The complimentary bread, and soup or salad and ice cream is a nice touch. Great family restaurant.

This is a great joint. I always receive service with a smile, while the food is always fresh, hot, and delicious. In addition, it does not matter what time of day you visit, I repeatedly come here for lunch when working during the week, as well as go on evening dates on the weekends. Consistent and reliable, as well as delicious, with quite a unique and charming atmosphere inside -- it is an eye opener, that is for sure.

Of all the Old Spaghetti Factory's I have yet to be disappointed by their service. On the Canada Day date here with my fiancee the downtown location went above and beyond and gave us some of the best service we have ever had, friendly, timely, and never gave us a chance to ask for refills.

Before the pandemic, this is the better of the 2 Old Spaghetti Factories in Edmonton to dine-in. The food tastes better, the customer service is better and it is better managed for sure. The West Edmonton Mall location is worse. Now during the pandemic I did a takeout order and it was great! I still don't feel comfortable dining in but I love to support this restaurant with takeout and they still do a good job!

Never in a million years did I think I would really like the Old Spaghetti Factory. You hear people talk about it, you just think it's a typical chain. It's not. The food is very good and they have great variety. The chicken is cooked to perfection and if I have pesto I always ask for extra. It makes it really good. The value is great. You get an appetizer and desert. The ice cream is excellent. What really makes this location great is michael the manager. He does such a great job at customer service, makes suggestions, aids in custom orders, etc. He makes the place. I really don't understand how he hasn't been given own location. I would drive across town to go to his location.

we always have a great experience here every since our first time was a bad one. It was quite busy, we waited ten minutes for a table The service was excellent. Taylor was our server who was very attentive, a pleasant to server who really worked hard to make sure we were happy. The food was awesome , the Long island iced tea was perfectly mixed. This location is very clean! We were impressed with how clean and spotless the bathrooms are as well as the entire restaurant. Food is great. Service is great. And the waitress packed a slice of cake to go for my dad when we mentioned it was his birthday after we paid already. Highly reccomend this location. They even offer $5 off for parking if you show your receipt when paying. If you go on a Sunday there is free street parking just around the corner.

Great Place for kids where they can eat and be like kids. Weekends and hockey nights, I strongly recommend a reservation after 5pm there will be a significant wait. Service by Michael was pretty good. The guy is fast and efficient. We did feel that we were forgotten when it came to the end of our dinner. Took a super long time to pay the bill and wait for a machine to come around. But it was super busy so can't blame them too much.

Used to go here with coworkers when I worked for the GoA. Quaint, if outdated, decor that screamed "family italian restaurant" - but the food quality was always top notch. Best part was the fresh loaf of bread and garlic butter rosette that came complimentary of your meal. Very nostalgic.

Normally when I got to old spaghetti factory I don't just go for the food I go because it keeps a living history of the location it is in, this one dose not have the any sort of historical artifacts documenting any history of downtown edmonton anywhere on is walls. Great! You can't go wrong here. Service=Excellent. Food= Excellent. Atmosphere= Excellent. Love that you get all the bread that you want & coffee/tea(& I think pop) & you get soup or salad. I always get the the Mizthra & Burnt Butter Spaghetti. I can't get that anywhere else. I love that dish. Only bad thing was we were parked across the street around 5:30 pm & it was actually really busy, & whomever it was must have either been incredibly dumb or kids, but someone tried to break into my vehicle by trying to Jimmy through my window to get to the lock I think & cracked my window up. I say they were either kids or dumb because most people who break into cars, know the vehicle their going to break into. They obviously hadn't done their homework on my vehicle. It senses any type of intrusion & an alarm will go off & even if they got in, it has movement sensors in it. Plus, if the those failed & they tried to steal it without the key fob, the engine would seize up. On top of all that, we were parked in a busy area, in front of a camera and in front of a busy road. So ya, dumb or kids. But at the restaurant, Food was excellent, just maybe be careful when you park & take it one step further, ladies or younger people, make sure your in groups. If people were dumb enough to do that to my vehicle, you never know what their dumb enough to also do.

Arrived at the restaurant for our 7pm reservation. Our group was sat down at 7. Ordered baked tortellini. Had a glass of wine. After 1hr and a half I was told they didn't have the baked tortellini. I told them we've been waiting for a long time and now you tell me. So I thought just order the spaghetti and meatballs. Then after another half an hour I got my meal. I did not like it. I did not appreciate I had to pay for a meal I did not want. They gave me 20 per cent off, but that is not good enough. I will never come back and I will tell my friends not to go there. I was deeply disappointed as the other Spaghetti Factories I have been too have been excellent. Our waiter was very good. He did his best and followed orders from the manager on the evening of Friday 18th, 2019.

I hate writing bad reviews. I have been coming to The Old Spaghetti Factory since 2008 and it was my favourite places to eat. It has since gone downhill. I don't know why? Maybe a change in ownership or management. The last 2 times the bread was airy and cold. It use to be hot fresh and chewy. They no longer carry their amazing French dressing. The pasta dishes we ordered looked like they were kept under a heat lamp and were crusty on top. So disappointed, I will have to go to another city and hopefully it's just the Edmonton location that is going downhill.

First time I went here, I was amazed with the service and the price! I’ve been to a lot of restaurant but this one had the most unforgettable service I had. Our server was amazing, the experience was one of a kind, she didn’t make it feel like we were waiting for our food. It’s was so consistent until the end. Drinks are always refilled, when we finish our bread, she asked if we want some more. When we finished our meal, she came over and asked if we want coffee or ice cream. For me it was actually mind blowing to have that kind of service. Top quality, considering there was two big group beside us that she was also serving. We have been there four times ever since and even brought a Japanese visitor knowing there would be that kind of service. We were not disappointed. Definitely recommend to visit this location.

Definitely a gem!! Lots of parking available in the area. There is one flight stairs up to the dining area. I didn’t see an entrance with a ramp. I would call and make sure before going. Make sure you bring proof of vaccinations as well as ID to prove it’s your vaccine passport The menu is available on the website. In house you have an option is a reusable laminated menu as well as a paper menus. The staff is exactly what every restaurant needs. Friendly, professional, well dressed and fast. The staff works together to make sure your dining experience is exceptional. The food is more than reasonably priced. When you are told it’s “all included” they aren’t kidding. For the price of the entree, which is you also get a starter of soup or salad, entree and dessert which is a chocolate, vanilla, pistachio nut ice cream. The in house coffee blend is delicious. The ONLY suggestion I would make is to have a choice of sweetners . When we were seated we had our drinks and fresh bread with whipped garlic butter within 2 minutes. Which was replenished within minutes. We chose soup for the starter. It was delicious. If you are a fan of French onion soup.. I highly recommend it here. It was THE best I’ve ever had. Mama Pulosi’s lasagna was delicious. As was the Cajun chicken fettuccine. The portions were big. Neither of us could finish the entrees and were given a take out box. I’ve raved enough. If you’ve read this far.. just got to the downtown location. Though I’m sure the West Ed location is just as amazing.

Very happy with distancing etc. We were walking around before deciding to go here. All other restaurants that I saw that had patios, were full, distanced too close & appeared to have multiple households at the tables, ex: 6 late 20's early 30's guys having beers...multiple times. The food & service was amazing! Had a beer I like on tap as well. Everything was delicious & reasonably priced. Our server was the best. I will definitely be back again to this location! They really seem to care about their clientelle & staff, keeping them as safe as possible.

Very disappointed. Came with a group and service was very slow. They missed people's drinks as well; I gave up. Pop was "Free"with our meal and he asked us what kind of iced tea we wanted; three of us thought that was great since he said it was Free. Our bills came with charges of $4.25 extra for each one. Good Dinner, we arrived an hour before closing and with a cranky baby. They were able to put us in a back corner so help minimize fuss while we calmed the little one and still have us great, friendly service. Normally I have a good experience at Old Spaghetti Factory downtown, but if there's an event on at Roger's Place, don't waste your time walking in without a reservation. After waiting for over an hour, we left before being seated because seating for walk-ins stalled. This is because reservations received top priority. Though understandable, staff didn't appear to be making an effort to weave in seating the walk ins amongst the reservations.

Fantastic experience all around. The value for your money cannot compare with anywhere else. The managers and staff obviously cares about their customer experience and the food is amazing. I had the mushroom chicken alfredo with cheese ravioli and the sauce was flavorful and expertly made. Price is exceptional for a meal that includes fresh bread to start, soup or salad, plus coffee or tea and spumoni ice cream with every entree. My fav restaurant hands down. Not just in Edmonton, but anywhere. The food is always great, it's well priced, and the service is always excellent. But I think the real test of a restaurant, or any business for that matter, is how your patronage makes you feel. I have been coming here for literally decades. First with my parents, now with my wife and kids. The managers know our family by name, and always make a point of coming over to talk when we come in. And it's not like we're there every week. We had a family tragedy this year, and when they found out about it, they took the time to send us a sympathy card. Kelvin, Michael, and the rest of the team do an amazing job. Don't ever change!

Just went there for the first time and it was AWESOME, we got to eat inside a train car which was really cool. This has been my favorite restaurant since I was a little girl! The decor is fun, the pasta is as delicious as it has always been. I never have to look at the menu, I always order the same thing, and it is consistently delicious! The service is impeccable, even when the dining room is at full capacity. I will come here for lunch or for dinner and it is always a perfect meal.

The location is historic and the decor inside is amazing, there is even an old street car inside the restaurant that you can dine in. But that’s not the only reason you come to a restaurant. The food and service is the most important. I have come to Old Spaghetti Factory many times over the years and have always enjoyed it, l generally get the Chorizo Italian sausage pasta dish. It was tasty but only warm but there was a large amount of barely cooked onions in the dish. I was disappointed as the onions were chunky. We finished our meal and the server asked about our meal and I expressed my disappointment with my dish she acknowledged my experience and said she would get her manager and in a short period of time the manager came and I reiterated my experience and apologize for the poor quality and she offered to provide a gift certificate for our next visit. I thought maybe a $5 or $10 gift certificate but when she came back she gave $20. I was impressed with this and the restaurant really followed through in making my experience better. I have always enjoyed past visits and this visit was disappointing to begin with but the service and and repairing the disappointment of the dish resulted in my being being happy in the end. If there had been no acknowledged of my experience and no compensation for the bad experience I would have given a 1 or 2 star. Thanks for making things right in the end. June 28, 2019. Retured to this restaurant and enjoyed it. I used the gift certificates that were provided from our last visit. We were very happy with our experience this time around. The server was friendly and attentive. The food was tasty and served hot. Overall a good experience.

My family loves the Old Spaghetti Factory and this location has an amazing ambiance but is not fussy. Good old-school pasta dishes are available at a very reasonable price. Sourdough bread, soup/salad and ice cream is included in giant-portioned entrees. I tend to find myself having to pack left overs for lunch the next day. Staff are very friendly and accommodating.

Yes, this chain still exists. And if you remember it from that birthday party you went to when you were eight, you can drop in any night for a huge nostalgia trip. The bread and butter are still there, as is the complimentary little metal dish of ice cream after your meal. The tables, the menus, the atmosphere - it's all exactly the same. And sometimes, in a world that's so busy trying to adapt and update, it's comforting to go back to a spot that gives you something good and timeless.

We came here for dinner for our anniversary shortly after their reopening (COVID). Everything was great! Sanitation and social distancing seemed up to par. Kelvin, the owner, was very accommodating - from the time we made our reservation to the time we left the restaurant - he was very friendly and professional. Our server was outstanding, she was quick, polite and accurate. She even brought us a chocolate cake on the house for our celebration :) We ordered the Ravioli and the Manicotti & were not at all dissapointed! The pasta tasted so fresh and you could really tell the amount of effort and love that was put into our meal. Thank you Old Spaghetti Factory! We will be back soon =)

I've been to this Old Spaghetti factory location several times before and the service was immaculate. Our waitress was so nice and caring of mine and my families dinner and made sure we were happy with our food and drinks. Other then the service, the food was quite underwhelming. I've actually never experienced this at the downtown location so that was surprising... but our service made up for that anyways :)

Factory when i was 18, & the owner Greeted me at the entrance ???? & i chose the chicken Penne dish cuz i always remembered that being my favourite. But i was more excited for the bread. They gave me a 'green beer'????with some food colouring, & it was a really nice time. I would eat there again! But next time i wanna sit inside the RailCart in the middle of the resturant

It started with trying to climb over a 1 1/2 foot snowbank because I guess they were too lazy to shovel - both of us are disabled n using canes, same thing when we left. Very RUDE!! Service was great, food was not. The Clam Chowder was no way near as good as the last time we ate there. The first time was fantastic!! Not this time. My ribs were WAY too spicy compared to my hubby's. Gravy was not good, fries were ok. It was our 22nd Wedding Anniversary so other than the piece of chocolate cake they gave us to split it was pretty disappointing. We wanted to go to LaRonde but it was closed - very big bummer!! Won't be going back to Old Spagetti Factory again.

This is my favourite restaurant for dates, and my wife agrees! The food is absolutely delicious, they serve good-sized portions so you don't leave hungry, and the prices are totally reasonable! Last time I was there I did notice that the prices had gone up a bit, but they'd been the same for years and years, so that's too be expected. It's still super competitive. Also, on the super rare occasion where I've had an issue with my meal, they've bent over backwards to make sure I was pleased! I can't say anything negative about them, because I haven't had a negative experience! If you're going, and don't want the spaghetti (Which is great, get the 'Manager's Special' and get half spicy sauce, half mushroom sauce), I'd recommend the 'Red Thai Curry Linguine' with prawns and my wife recommends the 'Tortellini Pomodoro'. Both our faves. :)

The bar is well stocked and they had three beers on tap: Belgian Moon, Molson Canadian, and a craft lager, Cobblestone. Appie selection is good. They offer calimari, mussels, the ubiquitous wings, amongst other things. Mains are spaghetti of course but they also offer traditional North American fare such as ribs and an 8 oz. New York steak for $22.75 (which makes me suspect that it's probably not restaurant sterling rated). That said, their pasta sauce choices are extensive with everything from your standard Bolognese to a nice little white clam sauce... Another nice thing about the place is that they offer "it's all included" as part of the meal you select. As soon as you sit down, the server brings a in hot house baked bread loaf with plain and garlic butters. A choice of green salad or soup comes next (you can also upgrade to a "premium" salad such as spinach or Caesar). And once you've completed your main, you get a scoop of Spumoni ice cream. This is not a high end Italian restaurant. However, the food is honest, servings are reasonably generous, and the service was attentive. Whether you are out with the kids or just want to sit back with some friends in a comfortable setting, this could be the place for you. As I mentioned at the beginning of this, I actually came here with my significant other (it was her idea). I'm no cheapskate but getting a $68.00 bill at the end of the evening (she had a glass of wine and I had two pints along with the meal orders) was pretty impressive. So yes, I totally recommend.

Staff provided THE BEST service we have ever had in a restaurant- quick, friendly, attentive and they all around set the bar for waiters or waitresses across ALL restaurants. I actually called the Manager after the visit to acknowledge this. Also the food was delicious and fresh. TOP NOTCH!!

Was in recently and had the best service I have had in any restaurant. I let the hostess know and she said that the waitress had just started. We were really surprised to hear this as she came across as being a well-seasoned staff member. We will definitely be back to this location because of our experience that night.

The waiter was acting rude, the gave us the bill without our ask, they ask if we need the machine while we had still desert on table!!! Food it self was so ordinary, we tried spaghetti with meatballs and roasted garlic grilled chicken with tiramisu as desert.

Just left this location. Reservation at 7, still did not have my food by 9 pm. They were busy but this is still unacceptable. Our Waiter was amazing and worked extremely hard. I understand from my table mates that most of the food was out by 9:15 or so.

Very ordinary meal my wife ordered a medium steak it came very well done they changed it but she was then eating steak on it's own..... the service was good but the food not so good... you need to up your game

This is such a good family stand-by, we love it. The food is always good and predictable (I tend to order the same thing all the time and it's always delicious), the service is friendly and accommodating. Its not a fancy place, its comfortable and happy!

I don’t recommend this restaurant! The food was nasty, I was literally sick to my stomach! What a waste of my money never again! If zero stars was an option that’s what this restaurant would have gotten! I simply order fried calamari and a seafood linguine. The calamari was burnt and pasta was the worst of all who goes wrong with pasta? And this is supposed to be a “Factory” everything went straight to the garbage! And I’m still hungry! I’m super annoyed never again!????

An old favourite and the perfect place to stop for dinner before going to a hockey game. We've never had an issue getting a seat during the week and the food and service are consistently good. Great value with the included soup/salad, meal, and ice cream.

I have always had great service at this place! It’s great value with bread, a soup or salad, and desert included in the price of your meal. Keep in mind that it is downtown, so you may want to make reservations on nights where there is something at Rogers. It’s been a favourite place of mine for quite a while because it’s such good value for after work or before a movie at city centre.
