Saw this place online and I will say we were not disappointed. It was a great choice. First we were not aware that we need to make a reservation before coming. Luckily, someone was not coming till 7pm so we were Llowed to come in to order provided we will be done before that time. We had the seafood broth (fresh fish, prawns, mussels and claws). Enough to share for the two of us. We then had the catch of the day (lobster risotto and salmon fish). The risotto was tasty although it seems hard for me but my spouse was ok with it. We also had the seafood paella (saffron rice, prawns, clams, mussels & scallops). Its only the mussels that I will remove from the dish. The server was very professional and attentive and in summary... I will greatly recommend this place.

We were visiting from Calgary and looking for a place to have dinner on jasper Ave. Every place was busy and we did not have a reservation anywhere and would not take us. Sabor was able to accommodate my family of 4 even though they were busy and we did not have a reservation. The service and the food was were beyond amazing.

Such a great place to go with anybody. Their service is always top notch, servers are very knowledgeable. Most importantly, the price is very reasonable: nothing like $50 for a tiny piece of meat. I took one of my vegan colleagues here and she chose the vegetable paella. Nice wine selections, too; you can enjoy a drink at the tapas bar and go upstairs when you're ready for the meal.

Me and my husband chose Sabor for my birthday dinner on Friday Aug 6th and boy are we glad we did! We had easily the best service ever in a restaurant by Corey (and we have travelled the globe!) The food was unbelievable and his timing was impeccable with everything, he never missed a beat! We love coming here but felt compelled this time to write a review because it was lights out amazing!

Last night was my second time eating at Sabor and it did not disappoint! We were celebrating a few birthdays in the family and everyone's meal was absolutely delicious!! The lobster risotto was especially wonderful! Not only was the food fantastic, but the service was exceptional as well. Corey was an absolute delight! He even went so far as to go outside and halfway down the block to fetch my mom who had taken my toddler for a walk while we waited for the food, because he didn't want them to have cold food. Just all in all, an over and above place! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! We will definitely be back.

Just picked up takeout for the first time here. The seafood broth is amazing, with a nice crispy baguette on the side it’s perfect. The ahi salad was also very good. Grilled artichokes a bit on the oily side but very tasty. Great food overall!

Not only was she patient and explained everything for us, but her ability to constantly read our minds and do what we hoped was amazing. We had the 3 course meal, and the food was phenomenal, and the drinks were a perfect compliment. Overall, an incredible time. It was an amazing anniversary dinner for us, and I hope to go again soon.

Great atmosphere and service. But the meat o. The three boars was ice cold and I substituted my risotto for mash potatoes and didn't even get half the amount as the risotto. Idk honestly not very impressed. Like it was good but not worth what we paid

We were recommended this restaurant by friends that had eaten here a year ago. It is pricey. Beware of parking on the street or in the median which looks inviting to park at night. You will get towed. Park legally at the City Hall Building public parking across the way. The service was excellent. I had the Seafood Paella and my wife had the Lobster Risotto. Fabulous. Delicious. Definitely need reservations ahead of time. Great ambiance. Highly recommend.

We were greeted at our table by our waiter Marlon. He was very well spoken, friendly and highly knowledgeable about how each dish was prepared. The decor is very nice. Not what I expected from viewing it from outside. The chairs were comfortable and the tables a very decent size for the 4 people we had. The food was excellent. We started with the grilled calamari and prawns. I had the 16 oz ribeye, perfectly done. I finished with an Irish Monk coffee. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. Probably the best waiter I've had ever. Unbelievable food. Really outstanding service and food. Five star treatment.

The kitchen really understands fish, and octopus in particular. I had the octopus mussel salad, and t was bang on. Great flavours, textures, colours. Delicious.I would consider this finer dining and service was slow - if you are an impatient person this may be bothersome but we were out for an experience and were not bothered by it. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful.

Food was very good, service lacking at times I had the Octopus for my entree which was tender but somewhat tasteless. My partner had the seafood soup which was slightly bland, however the Lobster Risotto saved the meal. Our waiter was very versed however had poor table maintenance. We will be back, hopefully they iron out any Post Covid creases by then.

An awesome restaurant with a unique menu and top quality products. The triple meat meal is stellar. Great selection of appetizers. Service was great. Prices are a bit steep for what you get but nothing insane. Espresso needs work though, low quality. Overall you need to go here!

Sabor is usually pretty great, but this time not so much. Ordered take out and the tenderloin was supposed to be cooked medium rare, but came out closer to blue rare. Staff member who handled the pick up had his mask below his nose and barely covering his mouth, and made no effort to put it back on properly. Probably won't be returning.

Consistently great. Held a celebration there in August for a party of 30. Staff and food were incredible as always. Arranging the event was very smooth and accomodating as well.Was here for a wedding. Food was AMAZING! Enjoyed the atmosphere. Staff was great too.Great selection of shareable plates. The pate was very good. Reasonable prices and good service. What's not to love?Every time my boyfriend lets me pick the restaurant, I pick this place. A little on the pricey side, but well worth it in flavor. Take a date here to impress them!

Do not go there past 8h pm... they opened a bar next door and if I pay for a $450 meal I should be able to be able to talk and not have the bar bass music drown my thaughts .. All the food was excellent and even if very good, stay away from the entres and just order the appies and tapas as you will get much more bang for the buck. Also stick with the small deserts unless you are 2 or 3 sharing. They had no starting drink recommendations and this is sad for a high end restaurant...

Awesome! I took my mom and daughter here for supper. We had a fantastic time! The restaurant us very clean. The food was amazing and the portions were also very good. The guitarist was fantastic and our waiter was incredible! All of the other staff I had opportunity to interact with also very kind, friendly and helpful. This was the first time I or my family had ever been to Sabor but none of us would hesitate to come back. We had a wonderful time from top to bottom. Thank you!

Been to Sabor many times and the seafood and service is always top-notch. Thanks to their live guitar player (who is awesome), the atmosphere is perfect for any nice occasion. Do yourself a favor and try their epic lobster risotto -- never disappoints. Neither does their house cheesecake :)

My wife and came here for our anniversary and we're so glad we dis. One of the best meals of my life. We had the muscles to start. Wow.cooked to perfection, I could have stopped and been happy. I ordered the best rack of lamb, I've never had it so prepared so well , so tender you savor every bite. My wife had steak and lobster which also like butter. Everything was cooked with such care and attention. I cant imagine a bad meal here. Some jazz in the background topped off a pleasant atmosphere.

I attended for a private event which booked the entire restaurant so I can't comment on their standard menu. What we were served was excellent. The staff were great and seemed to be having as much fun as we were. I was impressed enough that I plan to go here again, next time I am in Edmonton, to try their regular menu.

A bit of a disappointment for the price. Six of us went out to eat, we started off with a round of Caesars. Some of us ordered them extra spicy and one Virgin, yet the bartender couldn't seem to get it right. I ordered the fried calamari as an appetizer which tasted like it was fried in days old oil. There wasn't enough sauce on the plate. The Piri Piri chicken was a generous size and the chicken itself tasted good with the pimento aioli but the fried were cold and there was a sauce that tasted like watered down Mayo that seemed pointless. My sister had the lobster risotto and I tasted it. It was good, creamy and flavorful. Sadly, the best part of the meal was the marinated olives. The service didn't wow me, she seemed inattentive and when we asked for her favorites she seemed uninterested in the food. I would spend my money elsewhere.

Incredible eating experience! A top notch seafood restaurant in Edmonton with a broad selection of wonderfully prepared and superbly delicious dishes. This upscale restaurant has a welcoming rustic atmosphere. The staff is courteous, professional and attentive. The Jumbo shrimp Cocktail, Mista Salad, and BC White Sturgeon (featured in photos) were incredible.

My girlfriend and i are from out of town and have rarely found a restaurant that has impresses us as much as Sabor. A real gem. We had shrimp pripri, (highly recommend) scallops- cooked to perfection. But the dish that wowed us was a whole cooked artic char. Edmontonians need to try there whole cooked fish.

Amazing Night out at Sabor celebrating parents anniversary!! The best seafood I’ve had in Edmonton. The oysters, mussels, lobster and clams were all so fresh! Some did the family style option and other ordered off the menu!! Both great options. Our served was fantastic! No rushing out the door and courses weren’t rushed out either with nice gap between them!! Limited photo because the foods going down faster then getting the camera out!!! Had the family style 3 course meal. The appetizer had scallops which itself was great but was drowned in chopped cucumbers. It just didn't feel right. Then the rissoto felt kinda off too. Ambiance was great, someone was playing live guitar in the background, and the staff was very friendly.

I came here with my wife, mom and step-dad. At first, I was skeptical going to a seafood restaurant in Edmonton seeing as how every time I've gotten sushi or fish while living here, it hasn't been up to par with what I've had in Vancouver (we lived there for a year). We decided to get the family dinner. I believe it was 50 dollars a person and it came with 3 appetizers, a shareable platter as a main, and desserts. To start, they brought 8 piri piri prawns over greens, 8 seared scallops with salsa, and calamari. Everything tasted amazingly fresh. I honestly thought I was back in Vancouver. For the main, they brought a huge platter of lobster risotto with a filet of Salmon and Halibut for each person. What?! At this point I was blown away by the value. On top of that, the risotto and fish were cooked perfectly. Nowadays, it's impossible to go to a restaurant that does risotto properly. It was saucy, filled with lobster, and cooked to the correct doneness. After the main we were all stuffed but they brought cheese cake, a chocolate tart, and one other thing. The dessert wasn't memorable but was adequate. Regardless, you don't come to Sabor for the dessert. 10/10 would recommend to others.

Chose this place for my birthday dinner and honestly I'm impressed! Service is 10/10! Amazing server who swiped the table even every time we finish with something, had the bread with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, the sardines fillet and calamari as tapas all Amazing! Gor main course we tried the 3 boar and the fish of the day with risotto and for desert the chocolate mousse and another one i can't remember the name , everything was extremely delicious and very tasty! Would go back gor special occasions as it is a bit pricey ❤

This is my all time favourite place to go in Edmonton. From the service to the food and the incredible menu. Loved it. I wish I wouldn’t have worn my spanx, so could have eaten even more. We ordered the seafood platter to share, and the salad to start. First of all everything was excellent, but I really wish I hadn’t had a salad to start, because there would have been more room for the lobster risotto or clams in the amazing sauce. Our server was so amazing, he knew his menu and was able to give us great feedback on our choices. I highly recommend everyone travelling to Edmonton to book a reservation here. Also incredibly affordable.

Only place we can eat sardines which were very tasty. Husbands risotto was astounding and fish overall were well worth ordering. Paella wasn’t what I expected as a bit of a kick and not really Spanish but plenty of fish. Tiramisu to die for. All in all absolutely stuffed and will be returning soon. Amazing service as well.

Second time I’ve eaten here (once before the pandemic, and then just a few days ago) and once again, top notch. Their seafood is prepared to perfection. Melt in your mouth scallops. Gigantic grill prawns. Mouthwatering golden crusted sea bass resting on a bed of rich lobster risotto. Salad and desert was great too. Kudos that they take seriously the task of ensuring everyone has proof of vaccination before entering. Made for relaxed evening.

Amazing variety of seafood. I didn’t know Portuguese food was so rich in seafood. It took us some time to decide on a plate there were so many options. We finally ordered 5 plates to share with the group.

We enjoyed a very delicious meal today at Sabor. We took advantage of the 'Downtown Dining Week'. We had the PIri PIri shrimp with salad, halibut and ocean perch with lobster risotto and then cherry cheesecake. WOW!!!! Marlon was our server tonight and what a delight he is! He is very kind, funny and a great server. Christian is lucky to such a wonderful staff member.

Seafood paella was awesome! Also, definitely try their calamari ! Overall, I loved their food and will for sure come back to try different dishes. Only complaint would be the service. The waiter( a tall, middle-aged gentleman) looked unpleasant serving our table and provided somewhat bland, unattentive service.

I came here for my birthday/anniversary dinner. As soon as we entered we were not greeted very friendly. The bartender who checked us in was not friendly at all. No smile, No how are you this evening, No small talk, NOTHING. We felt like we were wasting his time. Finally got our table, food was good. The service was not great. I have had much better service at places that costs 1/4 of the price of Sabor. I expect a much higher level of service from a place that I am spending over $150 for dinner at.

First time at this restaurant and it sure did not disappoint! I give food 4 stars only because the mushroom risotto was a bit on the salty side! But other than that we had such delicious food and the service was impeccable ????

This was my first time at Sabor. The service was friendly and delivered on everything. My reason for 4 starts is because the shrimp was slightly over cooked as well as the scallops. I did enjoy the set menu of the family seafood dinner. It included muscles, clams, lobster risotto, scallops, prawns, halibut, salmon and 3 desserts. I had been planning to come here for weeks and finally made it. If the food had been cooked as expected for the price point, everything would have been perfect and I would have given 5 stars. Thank you for the experience.

Had the mixed paella which had lots.of burnt rice and was dry especially the chicken. The piri piri chicken was bland and not seasoned well. Ordered a family option off the takeout menu, Piri piri prawns (huge and scrumptious), ceasar salad, roasted vegetables and delicious piri piri chicken and dessert! Tonnes of food, fed my husband myself and my 12 year old daughter and we still have left overs. Great quality food and at a very responsible price. Also note that our reason for trying this restaurant is because we had been staying at a the Ronald McDonald House and Sabor provided a gift certificate. Great food and kind, community minded support.

Sabor is always a good time, they’re the gold standard of what they do. Amazing drinks, tapas and food all around. Those in my party who eat meat said it was perfect even though Sabor specializes in seafood. Anyone can eat here, so many vegetarian options for any course. The cherries on the cheesecake were the cherry on top of the meal. Adrian was the best server and so friendly!

Sabor is consistently an amazing experience. The food never disappoints, the service is always excellent and the atmosphere is top notch. This visit was a Saturday evening so we could hear music from the club downstairs but it didn't detract from the experience at all. The tenderloin is among the best I've had anywhere in Edmonton. Wonderful atmosphere to have a meal in! The lighting and background noise is perfect for conversations and bright enough to not fall asleep. I had the Black Spaghetti dish during lunch and it tasted great - the seafood really fits well with the cheesiness of the dish. Situated across The Bay so you can access it from the LRT or even the city street parking. The lunch special is $21, which is actually quite worth it for a dish that tastes as good as it does. Comes with a choice side of a salad or soup as well. Definitely recommend coming here for any outings with coworkers, friends, or your significant other.

I was supposed to celebrate my birthday dinner here, and despite hearing about some horrible customer service experiences from friends, decided to try it out. When we arrived and had our QR codes scanned, security asked my elderly family member for photo ID, which she does not own, but was able to provide her Alberta health care card. Security told her this was not allowed and it HAD to be a photo ID. I pulled up the guidelines for the Restrictions Exemption Program online and showed it to them to prove that photo ID is not required and that her health care card was sufficient, but they refused to let us in. As we were figuring out where else we could go, their host came out and told us there was nothing they could do because they would be fined $1500 if they didn’t follow the guidelines. I once again pointed to the Government of Alberta website but was still turned away. If they choose to make photo ID mandatory for their business, that’s ultimately their choice, but that should have been made clear when we booked our reservation. But for them to act like it’s a government mandate that they could be punished for is a horrible excuse that left my family member feeling extremely embarrassed.

The food was amazing, I think the only regret I had was that I ordered from the menu and didn't order the daily special. We got married this past weekend and Sabor was our choice for the dinner following our ceremony. There was 14 of us booked into a beautiful private room. The wall designs were unique and everyone loved the atmosphere. While the food was wonderful, our waiter Troy was outstanding. He was very attentive and knowledgeable. He made sure everyone always had a drink and let me know when the wine ran low but without ever being intrusive. I just want to commend how great a job he did. We chose to use the price fixed menu for our group that had a number of appetizers brought family style, personally my favourite from this was the bacon wrapped dates but all the appetizers were delicious. The entrees include sablefish, beef tenderloin, or roasted lamb rack. I got the lamb rack which was very tender and tasty but other guests loved the sablefish and beef as well. My wife and all our guests talked into the next day how great the restaurant was and now we can't wait to go back. I'll likely have to go there for out first anniversary.

Went on a double date to Bodega Tapas Bar at Sabors, and ordered the following: Bacon wrapped dates Garlic prawns Serrano ham & cheese croquettes Rack of lamb chops Calamari puttanesca Lobster risotto Seafood paella. The garlic prawns were good -- everything else was excellent. If you want an impressive selection of good food, go to this place. Just make sure you book a few days in advance. They are deservedly jam packed on the weekends. ps- Service was slow when we went, but we were told ahead of time they were short staffed for the night. To give this place anything less than 5/5 stars after the meal I just had would be inviting bad karma.

The food was delicious, well prepared and nicely presented. My husband and I loved our food. The dessert was just ok, but we didn't get charged for it. The service is excellent. Our waitress Natacha was wonderful and patient. I never had service like that from a waitress. When she knew it was our anniversary, she brought us dessert on the house. I can't wait to come back. Every thing about the place is great. I would give the food and service 5 stars. The only reason I gave it 4 is the place. Even though it's large and open, it's too dark for my taste. If they sat me by the window, they would have gotten 5 stars.. I highly recommend this place.

The meats were cooked beautifully and tasted quite delicious. The rice however was disappointing; quite salty and dry. We were very pleased with our visit to Sabor. The food was amazing (definitely recommend the Sea Bass), and we were very impressed with the selection of wine. The waiter was able to explain the wine list thoroughly and make recommendations, which we appreciated. The restaurant is quite dimly lit, (we realize this is for ambience) but when our food came we actually used our phones to get a better look. We were sitting at an table for two that was placed more in the middle of the restaurant. The lighting may have been better had we been sitting closer to the sides. Sabor is a seafood restaurant in Edmonton with a Spanish influence. On the table was their seafood paella, and their tiramisu. Although a main is over 30, you get a good portion of seafood, which were not overcooked. Good seasoning, well balanced. The star of the show was the Tiramisu. Light, good balance between chocolate and coffee flavour and a good detail of even flavouring the whipped cream. Great idea to give a taster size which I think is a good size for most unless you share. Recommend!

We were really disappointed with our experience at Sabor. We booked our 30th anniversary dinner through Open Table and had indicated not once but twice that this was a special occasion. When we got to the restaurant we were taken to a back room and sat at a table in a dark corner by the coat rack. We had to use the light on our phones to read the menu. I wasn’t expecting a grand gesture but it would have been nice to be at a nice table and a simple “thanks for joining us for your 30th anniversary”. That’s it. We got nothing. We were so disappointed. We did share this as a review on Open Table and we’re asked if we wanted to share with the restaurant so we did. It’s been three weeks and unfortunately we have heard nothing back.

Pleasantly flavored food with delicate aromatic smell. Salad was fresh and crisp. The Buffalo cheese , light and creamy elegantly complimented by the acidity of the tomatoes. Ahi tuna salad brought out aroma of the dressing while maintaining the hint of tuna as an aftertaste. Seafood soup was the highlight of the dinner. The soup a as cooked in layers and perfectly done. Each piece of seafood cooked to perfection and colored with flavour. The found the risotto to be a little on the heavy side. Ran out of protein to accompany it before I got half way through. Couldn't taste the truffle flavour in it either. The light above our table flickered out in the meal which made it hard to get a good photo. The fish on the risotto dish was cooked perfectly. The butter sear on the Sable fish brought out the delicate light protein perfectly. And the king salmon was divine.

Sabor is a great spot for tapas down town Edmonton! I was adventurous with my choices and I was pleasantly surprised! The presentation and flavour was really good! I loved the atmosphere as well, and our waiter was attentive and hospitable. I will return again soon! :)

Most recently I tried to order their NYE take out special and inquired a couple questions on Instagram about it and went completely ignored. Bacon Wrapped dates- a MUST Meat Trio-my partner loved Portions were huge & was nice and hot upon delivery We weren't given any cutlery (luckily we brought some with us to the hotel) So if you do need; perhaps ask prior!

My boyfriend enjoyed his food but I can’t say the same for me. I enjoyed the cheesecake more than the actual “meals”. Unfortunately I had a very raw muscle and very tough and chewy squid. The service was excellent though. Our waiter always made sure our water and coffees were full. The serving sizes were quite large which really impressed me. I will definitely give this restaurant another try and hopefully my opinion will change.

The food was amazingly cooked, the timing of the 3 courses (family seafood) was perfect and the service was highly professional without being pretentious. Our wine and water glasses were never empty. It's a casual and upscale atmosphere at the same time where you can wear jeans or a fancy dress and fit right in. This is one our top 5 restaurants to go to in Edmonton.

The restaurant is lovely, we had the best seats in the house in my opinion. The service was great also. The only thing that was disappointing was that all of the food came out at the same time and quite quickly. I felt rushed to enjoy the food and at such a small table I felt the table to be too crowded. Timing the dishes would have enhanced the experience :)

It was my wife's birthday today and she loves seafood so I thought we would try this out (something new). Glad we did. This restaurant has absolutely the best atmosphere. It is so beautiful. However, I am unsure if my experience was a rare occurrence where my food tasted bland, because it did. The presentation—everything was above par, but I couldn’t find myself to finish the food I ordered even after taking it for left overs. The bruschetta was a good 3/10... again, no flavour with just tomatoes and ground pepper. Could’ve added some oregano, basil, olive oil... something else to bring it to life. Beautiful place, just wish there was better flavour for their food/what you pay for.

The food here was very delicious, I ordered the catch of the day which included a sable fish and salmon with lobster risotto. The salmon was very moist on the inside and very crispy with a lot of flavor on the outside while being very flaky. I also got the cheesecake with passion fruit and the cheesecake was very fluffy and the passion fruit was a perfect blend of sweetness and tartness. The service was excellent and very attentive to our needs. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Fantastic dining experience from the moment you walk in. Great atmosphere with live music and a nice ambience. While the place was full it did not seem crowded. Now to the food. A great list of items from the menu and we were told about the specials. Everything sounds amazing so it it tough to choose. We ended up getting the family special, not cheap at $60 per person, but worth it if you want to try a great selectiob of seafood. It comes with oysters on the shell, piri piri prawns, and a muscle/clam dish. All were divine, although i wish it came with 6 or 8 oysters rather than 4. Next up was the main dish of haddock and artic char on a lobster rissotto. Everything tasted amazing. I recommend eating the skin on the char adding a crispy subtle flavour. Lastly was dessert with 3 amazing dishes to share. The chocolate mousse was to die for. The end bill wasn't cheap but for a special night out I highly recommend. PS Sebastian was our waiter and you can tell he takes pride in what he does and wants you to have a great night out at Sabor.

For a mystery dinner for a special occassion, this place hit the mark. The atmosphere was cozy and quiet. Our waiter was beyond attentive and courteous throughout our meal. We decided to go with the nightly special, and boy we were glad. My wife and I enjoy our seafood, we had 7 different kinds that night. All of which tasted amazing, even had to take some home. The portions were very generous, still with room for dessert. The total bill for our night was well worth it, my wife has already asked me to go back next week.

Just decided to come by here while passing by. Didn't have a reservation but they managed to squeeze us in (2). We got the Manila clams and roasted butternut squash and crab soup to start and they were simply delicious. We both decided on the sable fish. The fish itself was nice and tender, juicy and well seasoned. The sides for the dish however, was unexpected. I believe it was just roasted vegetables with a some sort of sauce. The sauce was very acidic, I didn't really mind it but my friend didn't enjoy it too much. We were expecting your usual seasonal vegetables and a starch. Got a tiramisu and cheesecake to end it. They were both good as well. overall it was very good, and will be coming back in the future .

Wow went out for date night & tried the dinner special! Well worth it! Quite spectacular. This consisted of oysters, mussels, peri peri shrimp, Arctic char & halibut. We also shared an appetizer of bruschetta & sardine pate. What a joyous relaxing dinner. The accompanying risotto was buttery & delicious. Also shared a bottle of unoaked Chardonnay from Spain. Sabor is hands down one of my favourite restaurants in the city. I have been here 3 times, all for special occasions. The first time, my mind was blown. I came with a larger group, so we were able to try a variety of dishes. Our server was also excellent despite how swamped she was. The second and third time (which was just a couple of days ago), the food and service were both above average. I highly recommend this place for large groups and date nights. You will not be disappointed.

It was the first time for my friends and I come here for dinner on a weekday. It was a quite busy night for the restaurant but the service was still great. The appetizer seafood was juicy and awesome and definitely it should goes with good white wines. There was only one thing that a little bit not perfect: our main courses were too salty, which are the steak&lobster and black pasta... Seasonings are good but just too much which comparing to other dishes... Anyway, We definitely enjoyed our night and I will come back for trying more food here.
