We went for Happy Hour, my friend and I shared 4 plates of food and ordered 3 rounds of 9oz carafe of J.C. Moscato at half price (normal is $15); we found out that the store price for 50oz goes for $24. Also, we were told that the double grapefruit cocktail was specially priced at $9; I got charged at $11. The Bourbon chicken wings and soufflé cake were standouts and what rounded up this review to a 4-star rating from 3.5.

First time dining here. Very nice decor and dining ambience, big square booths for groups makes the get together more intimate allowing everyone to share in conversation. Very large outdoor patio area. Nice location as well, located in South Regina in the Southland mall area, close to Highway 1 if you are travelling through on vacation. They feature a nice menu with steaks to salads, and some pretty good appetizers, something for everyone. Super friendly and helpful staff made our birthday celebration meal and get together most memorable. My steak medallions topped with lobster & scallops was grilled perfectly. Thanks Chop and staff, we will be back! ????

Nice place with standard , average menu. Don't expect to see interesting meals or servings . Same old piece of steak or ribs with fries and simple salat. Food: as I mentioned menu is very average , without interesting meals . you can find 99% of this meals in almost any steakhouse . Steak comes with French fries and some kind of arugula. We tried 3 different types of steaks . Very average. nobody got this feeling " wow this is a really awesome steak ! ". Beer & Wine: acceptable variety of tap beer and nice range of wine. Beer prices probably $0.50 higher than average in the city . Service: waitress was nice , polite and knowledgeable . Waiting time for a meals wasn't fast but still acceptable. Beverages came right the way . Waitress forgot about no ice beverage but it was fixed very fast. waitress came couple times to check , but wasn't annoying. Design : probably the best part of this steakhouse and the reason why i gave them 4 stars instead of 3. design is outstanding with tall ceilings , huge doors , tall mirrors in the bathrooms and all kind of fancy stuff. Cleanness: Place is clean . Tables are clean and not sticky, chairs are comfortable and clean . Plates , cutlery , glasses all clean. Washroom is clean and no bad smell. Overall nice place with standard steakhouse menu and above average design.

Very nice dining experience. Sat in the lounge for a casual event. Service was prompt and courteous. Good to see the manager circulating. He was very accommodating. I had the lobster rolls as August was lobster month. Delicious. My guest enjoyed her pasta dish. Overall a very enjoyable evening.

I was here with a group from work. I have never been in a chop resuraunt so I honestly did not know what to expect. Unfortunately I do not remember our servers name, but she was very good. She was knowledgable on the menu items and just a very nice lady. I wish I remembered her name because I would tell you to sit in her section if you go here. One of the others ordered a bunch off appetizers, crab cakes, onion rings and wings. Thought these were a bit of an odd choice being in a steakhouse and all, but they were all quite good. The onion rings were quite a surprise. Super crispy and great flavor. I had the New York steak, and just fries and gravy as a side. The fries were ok, but nothing to write home about, but the steak on the other hand, first off it was like $45. Which for me seemed a bit steep, (yes, I am super cheap) but seeing as this is a higher end place, I went with it. So the other thing I should mention is that I am one of the weird people of the world that likes the flavor of meat. Not the stuff that gets put on it, not the parts that get burnt when it is cooked. Just the taste of the meat. I like my steak blue rare. So yeah, it does not take long to cook. Most places, even steak houses seem to have issues getting this right. It is either still cold in the middle or more of a rare. I asked the waitress if they could do a blue rare properly, she confidently said no problem. And she was right. They nailed it. Nice color, great flavor. No major fat or grissel parts that make it chewy. I don't remember how big the menu said the steak was, I was not overly worried about it at the time, but it has been a long time since I went to this type of restaurant and could not finish a meal. The steak was huge! Kind of threw the concept of 1/4 of your plate being meat and half of it being veggies. This steak took up half the plate. And I think there was a tomato or something there, but it was not important. So overall, there was a group of 7 of us. A few drinks each, a bunch of appys and I think most of us barely made it through our meals because they were that big, the bill was just under $700. So $100 each for an amazing dinner. Well worth it I think. But don't bother with the fries. Get a baked potato instead????

Wanted to try something different, something I have not tried before. I went on Google and searched restaurants near me and Chop Steakhouse Came up. I figured I'd give it a try and I'm so glad I did. The atmosphere is fantastic. The service was great, and the food! The food was phenomenal! Definitely recommend.

Just celebrated my anniversary and my wife's birthday tonight. The experience was amazing. We both felt very safe. We were greeted with some complimentary drinks in accordance with our special occasion. Our server, Francis was by far one of the best servers we have ever had. Very polite and friendly. To top it all off, we were also gifted a dessert on the house for my wife's birthday. I am very glad to know that customer service at this level exists here at this restaurant. Great job to everyone at Chop Steakhouse in Burlington. Will definitely be coming back!

Kids were at sleep overs, so I thought it would be a fantastic opportunity to take my wife out for a steak dinner! Naturally the Keg came to mind, drive to the Waterdown location just to find a 2 hour wait, drive to the Burlington location, hour and a half wait, me, not being that patient suggested the Chop steakhouse! Previous experiences at the Chop steakhouse, not so good, this time, spot on, from service from Sarah, to a perfect steak, nothing to complain about, by tbe way.... no line up! I don’t think the Keg is worth lining up for, just like Red Lobster, the Chop steakhouse was just as good in all aspects. Will come back again to the Oakville Chop steakhouse!

Feels like a cross between a sports bar and a steakhouse. Seeing as it's connected to a hotel, that makes some sense but it's a little jarring to see sleekly dressed staff and modern elevated seating (as well as a comfy lounge) with televisions at every available eyeline. Some may say this is a feature, not a bug. It is in a very business sort of location, there aren't many other places for food and drink in the area, from what I could see. The place was practically empty when we visited and our server was quite nice. One design flaw may be the singular bathroom available at the first floor level, I can't imagine that's convenient when the place is full. All together, the staff was dressed well, polite, and knowledgeable about the food. Our steaks were perfectly done and the Baked Alaska?? To die for.

Food wasn't bad but it wasn't worth the prices they are asking. Mediocre caeser salad, I expected a bit more for an additional $8.00 added to the $45.00 meal. Smoked rib eye was tasty but was inconsistently coiked, medium rare at one end and closer to medium on the other. The vegitables that were served with it were similarly inconsistent, some carrots were nearly raw and some were almost over done. Overall, I wouldn't say I didn't enjoy my food. I just had higher expectations from the high praise others have given. YMMV.

Its Saturday night 7pm, Went to Keg in Burlington hoping to use a gift card we had for our anniversary dinner, 75m wait for a table, Waterdown Keg 120m wait (this is for a table for 2) Looked online quickly for a steakhouse and remembered that Chop moved in not too long ago at Burloak. It is now 730pm, we booked a table for 2 for 8pm. Seated on time and had friendly service right from the start. We were asked if we were celebrating anything this evening and said yes, it's our anniversary. Couple minutes later waitress shows up with two glasses of champagne on the house. Girlfriend has a unique allergy and they were very accommodating! Even the manager came out to talk to us and explained how things in the kitchen were to be done, how it was stored, and she talked with chef personally to ensure no slip ups! We had a lovely steak dinner with a salad, veggies and another side. Everything cooked to our liking and at the end they presented us with a card signed by the group and containing a free appetizer for our next visit. We definitely know where we will be going for our next steak dinner, come here to avoiding long wait times!!!

Preface this by saying that the food was not bad (lunch was the prime rib and frites, steak bites, chili and garlic prawns). But the overall grade is lowered because the service, while friendly, was mediocre. For the class of restaurant this place tries to market itself as, waiting for unattended at the front only to have one of the staff say to us when we were noticed to "sit anywhere" is probably not the way to go. Then, we attempted to sit in 2 booths and both were not cleared up and cleaned. We sat ourselves near the bar instead and the table was not wiped properly as there was still crumbs and stains on the surface. Glancing at the booths we wanted over the few minutes while we waited for our server didn't present us the opportunity to move as they both remained uncleared. Had to ask to have our table wiped. I was given my coffee without a spoon for stirring and when our food arrived, the pepper grinder on the table had no peppercorns left -- again, indicators that this restaurant's attention to detail was subpar and not at the segment it is placing itself at. In short, the service needs work.

So this one for all those who passes by and don’t make it inside the restaurant. And for us, today was the day. It was my fiancé’s birthday and the first thing that came to his mind was The Chop! Where do I start? Greetings and smiling faces as soon as you walk in and absolutely gorgeous interior and atmosphere. We decided to go to dining area but I am sure the lounge is as good if not better. Allen/Ali sorry if I am getting the name wrong. Your are AMAZING! We wanted to try the le burger week burger. It was very good. We started with steak bites they were super awesome. So much flavour and not chewy. While in the lounge a group of very obnoxious people were so loud we couldnt hear anything. I am very impressed with our server Sarah K. She offered free dessert and we said it was ok. Not her fault the people were so rude. She offered steak bites but we were all full. As we left she brought us a coupon for free steak bites and kept apologizing. The manager also apologized for the noise. I realize we were in the lounge but no one expects that kind of behaviour on a Tuesday night at 7:30. Thank you for the great service.

If you're looking for a GREAT STEAK, this is the place for you. The ingredients taste fresh, well prepared, perfectly seasoned. It's a bit too expensive for my taste as most dishes are about $40 each and portions are small (don't think I'd go back for that reason) but great food. They could throw in a salad or fries, but that's all extra. Personally, I would've preferred hanging pendant lights over the tables (if you're over 40 you can't see the menu unless you light up with your phone!), and a bit LESS attention, if you can ask for such a thing (we were interrupted every 5 minutes... a bit too much attentiveness IMHO). Everything is done by a different person, which is disruptive too (one takes your order, one brings bread, one brings drinks, one brings out the food, etc. etc.). Team work is nice, but so is recognizing a staff's face and making a personal connection. I give it a 4 on the food though. Well done (or medium rare ;)

My steak was well done when ordered it medium rare. You think paying $37 for steak mignon they would get it right. My date order well done got medium rare steak sandwich. Had to ask for salt,pepper and ketchup even tho got fries with steak. Steak mignon for the size you get not worth $37. 5 bites it was done. Honestly never go back better food at BP's and bigger servings of food. CHOPS YOUR JUST PAYING FOR THE NAME.

We made reservations for 6 on Mother’s Day and had a modest wait. The Manager bought us appetizers and drinks. We were very pleased. My wife’s entree was over cooked and they made a new one before they even served it. They didn’t charge us for her entree either. We received fantastic service and the food was great. I could not find the manager as we were leaving to shake his hand. Consider this a hand shake and a sincere thank you.

So I was expecting this place to be a step up from the keg. Seems to be the exact same. Nothing special. From the time we were seated to the apps was hour & a half. Our drinks took for ever as well. Finally got my steak & lobster add on. The steak was amazing. Cooked perfectly to my liking. But the lobster was raw when I got to the center. How gross. Wasn't very happy. It was the Valentine's weekend. So I will give this place a second chance.

Best place to enjoy a steak... Just make sure you ask for Melissa!! She was what put the entire experience over the top and worth it. I wouldnt suggest the suvi steaks. But the bone in prime rib was delicious (ask Mel how they cook it).

Fantastic experience, and one of the best steaks (and service) I've ever had. Five of us went to Chop for my mother's birthday, and everyone had a great time. The food was amazing, particularly the smoked rib eye that I had (that everyone had to have a piece of). I also would highly recommend their wasabi mashed potatoes as a side, along with the steak bites as a starter. The service was great, with Anna being quick and thoughtful. As it was my mom's (60th) birthday, she received a free dessert with her meal. With the dessert came a birthday card signed by the staff, including a special note from Anna referencing a joke that she must have overheard us laughing at earlier over dinner. Very attentive and thoughtful. Overall a great experience and I would not hesitate to recommend this place to friends. Of the steak houses in Regina that would probably fit into this category (Golf's, The Keg, etc), I would say Chop is at the top!

My family and I were staying in the Sandman Hotel attached so we ordered room service from Chop on 2 occasions. Wow! Food is absolutely amazing! Full of flavour and cooked to perfection. I had the fillet mignon one night cooked medium rare, and the salmon dish another night. Definitely would recommend!

Service was impeccable. Leeane was an amazing server. Chop also has gluten free options which was great. I have a lot of other allergies as well so the server spoke to the chef and manager and the manager came over before my order went in to confirm my meal and the necessary changes needed for my allergy restrictions. It was my mom's birthday and she got a free mini dessert which got devoured and they also have her a vmcard which all the staff signed with a free appetizer for her next visit. Over all I was very impressed with all the staff, food, and cleanliness of the restaurant. (washrooms are very clean and are pretty neat just to see even if you don't have to go. I will definetly go back.

I made a reservation in advanced and noted that it was for a very special dinner, and one of the workers followed up with me to discuss a seating area of my preference. The food was absolutely amazing, our waiter was so incredibly friendly. My family had a wonderful celebration and I’m so happy Chop Steakhouse & Bar made it so special for us. I will definitely be back, and strongly recommend this location for any occasion - celebrations, family dinners, date nights, or just a night out with friends!

Staff was very friendly and explained the menu very well. Ordered a smoked ribeye which was one of the best steaks I've ever had. Had a mini rum cake for desert which was also fantastic. Some deserts come with a mini option which is nice after a large meal, but you still want to try something sweet. Will definitely return.

I came here with my family (group of 10) to celebrate a couple birthdays. The service we received was some of the BEST service I have ever experienced and I have worked in the restaurant industry for years. Not only was all of our food cooked to perfection, the manager Rebecca also gave us some complimentary champagne and desserts at the end of our meal since we we're celebrating four birthdays - extremely nice gesture. The food and drink selection is great - the steak bites are a must try. The layout of the restaurant is very nice. We were sat in the dining room which was secluded but not completely isolated from the rest of the restaurant. I will definitely be back!

I was here years ago and the food was very good. This latest trip was a disappointment. The steak was rubbery and the "seasonal vegetables" were just a piece of plain pumpkin and some very tough green beans. I admit I've never worked in a restaurant, but I wouldn't serve plain pumpkin with a $30 dinner.

My steak main was quite good. No complaints on the quality of the food. However, the restaurant was not even at 20% capacity and our service was mediocre at best. Took 15-20 minutes before we ordered our first drink. I know times are tough in the service industry with COVID, but at this price, I expect the service to be at a premium.

I'm a regular happy patron of the Mississauga location and decided to try out this one for a birthday/father's day celebration on Saturday night. We had two servers for our table of ten and they managed to mess up four of the meals and it took close to ten minutes to serve our mains. I understand kitchens get busy ( bar side where we sat was very quiet) Serving the wrong food and having to wait that long is not acceptable.

Mother's day brunch. First time I've been here but I've been to the one in Winnipeg. First the good points: Varied menu and 3 of our 4 orders were excellent. They gave a mothers day gift of a plant which was nice. Nice decor and ambience. Needed in this area of identical clone eateries. The complimentary scones were exquisite. Now the minuses: Not enough crockery for the table during appetizers, was very annoying. Vary rare glimpses of our waitress meant that conversations had to be brief, informative and productive. Service not good. They would not make a slight change to the menu to accommodate our childs specific order. It would've been less food that the menu item but they would not do it - that order when it came was wrong anyway and not very tasty Would come back for the food, but the service was very ordinary.

The food was outstanding and they nailed my steak cooking temp preference (angrily shout at it and bring it out). The creme brule was spot on. They had some pretty extensive rules so pay attention before you arrive.

We came on Christmas Day! The lounge downstairs is beautiful but we ate in the restaurant which was very cozy. Our server was very polite and accommodating to my friend's gluten allergies. Steak bite appetizers set the tone. Tasty with two tangy dips, both good. My Old Fashioned was really good, with a nice big ice cube. The blue cheese filet was cooked perfectly to order. The sauce was very good, but not great. I had the greens as a side, and they were fresh and tasty. Frizzled onions are always amazing, but you can keep the fried tomato.

Ordered 2 steaks neither cooked the way we ordered it and the quality of steak was cheap. The ceasar salad was old lettuce and dressing. Beans where over cooked and the presentation made it even more disappointing and less edible. This meal cost $100.00 and i have had better steak at a beer pub. In no way would I recommend this place for a quality meal. Disappointing as we had been looking forward to a good meal.

Here is my honest review: the food was to die for, we got a new York steak and salmon dinner. Service was exceptional. I’ve never had a better dinner service. One thing I would like to bring up to the manager was that: we ordered some Hennessy shots, and I don’t believe it was actual Hennessy. I could be wrong but I know my liquor pretty well. Always like coming to Chop. This Winnipeg location is nice, amazing food. The bartenders are great. Sat at the bar there the first night and it was great experience. The floor and greet staff though, should improve on their manners and sympathy. Had to ask for my order more than once. If your working in the food service industry, you should be less arrogant and treat all customer equal. It gets my 3.5 stars(in this case, 3), for the arrogance of the servers. Visited for two days(the happy hour is great), then opted to go somewhere else. Average visits to Chop: >5 times/month.

Our second visit to Chop was a far cry from our first experience. The service was good and the food quality was barely average. When appetizers arrived two out of four bowls of soup were cold, not warm... cold. We were told the half chicken meal was served as just that, a half chicken with white & dark meat, no substitutions. The meal arrived with all white meat despite a request for dark. Steak requested to be cooked medium arrived very rare, virtually blue rare. The server was pleasant & as accommodating as he could but there's only so much apologizing that you can smile at before it just gets frustratingling (my word) annoying. I can't see us going back & spending that much money for a mediocre meal and incompetent kitchen staff.

All I have to say is wow! Went out for my birthday dinner to Chop on a Monday night and the service was spectacular. Savanna did such an incredible job throughout the whole night, making sure to check on us, filling up on waters as soon as they were done with, and overall just being funny and kind. The food was absolutely delicious, streaks were done to our liking and the presentation was 10/10! Drinks came quick as well! The trio desserts were super yummy and even the happy birthday detail on it was so sweet. Also got a birthday card on top of it! Overall, one of our best dining experiences. Will be going back!! Personally I ordered the steak and half a lobster, and it was magnificent. Me and my wife went for a dinner to Chop Steakhouse and Bar for the first time. Interior looks good. We ordered wings for starter and onion soup. Wings were good and onion soup was bit to salty. I have to mention that l love onion soup and l order it every time it is on menu so l have pretty good comparison. The bowl was surprisingly small for the price. At least 25% smaller than Keg's. Then we had main dishes. I have ordered medium NY with fries. I have got steak with rice on my plate. After pointing out l believe honest mistake she brings me fries on side. I have used my fork for the starter and waiter didn't noticed that. So l had to wait for her to show up and ask. I understand mix rice and fries but again many times experienced waiter would make sure to have it right. So my stake came medium well. Because l used to ordered medium well long time ago l didn't want to make fuss about it. My wife's stake instead of medium well came well done. I would understand it at Kelsey's rest. To have 3 glasses of beer with it the price came to $150. I regret not going to KEG my best Steakhouse rest.

Meals here were amazing, obviously a bit pricy being a high end restaurant. The restaurant itself is one of 5 connected to the Sandman hotel near the Winnipeg Airport, we're thankful that the connections between the restaurant and the hotel are all inside as there was a blizzard outside (which was one of the reasons why our flight was cancelled). The place was dimmly lit which added a nice and private atmosphere. Given that we were eating at about 11 at night the place wasnt packed (maybe 3-5 groups). The restaurant is split into two sections, a bar (which was more busy) and the restaurant. Given the two sides were so close together, surprisingly the noise from the bar wasn't noticeable from the restaurant. The place was furnished in a way that added a bit of color and modern like feel to the restaurant, it was interesting that the washrooms were also designed to match (one such oddity was a fireplace about 4 feet up the wall). We ordered a full rack of ribs, beef burger and French onion soup to share. For dessert we went with the sampler trio which came with a blueberry cheesecake, chocolate creme dessert, and creme brulee. Everything was delicious and visually pleasing. The server was very friendly and didn't ask for a tip (scratching out the space on the receipt) we gave a tip anyways. The meals were served not long after we ordered and the server came along once in a while to ensure everything was good. The meal portions were very generous, and we left full and very pleased. Would definitely eat here again, but only on special occasions. Highly recommended going here for a celebratory night out.

Edmonton dining week at Chop Steakhouse 101st. I had prime rib medium rare. Excellent with horseradish. My wife chose the salmon which was nice & moist and not over cooked. But as you can see the two desserts were delicious, especially the chocolate lava cake. Will definitely be back.

Service was excellent Prices are average for a steak house I ordered the smoked rib eye medium rare. It came out medium/well done with a lot of charred burns on one side as you can see from the picture which made it taste bitter. Best dining experience we’ve had in a long time! The service was exceptional and the food was excellent. All the drinks we ordered were delicious and worth it! The atmosphere was perfect, love the lighting and that there were also TVs playing the hockey game but good music as well. The tall backs on the booths created an experience where we felt very comfortable and cozy. We were staying at the sandman so this was very convenient to walk down from our room. But I would highly recommend even if you are across the city! We will for sure be back!

Food was good but the service, not so much. Our server was unorganized. I ordered the roasted chicken but 5 mins after placing my order, I was told they are sold out. This was 1pm, during the week on a Thursday. How are they sold out already, at 1 in the afternoon? Obviously they didn't have the food prepared, for whatever reason. Changed my order to sirloin steak, which was a little pricey, considering it came with one side (26$). Their mashed potatoes are infused with Wasabi, so I opted for fries. The serving size was tiny, looked like a plating for a child. Added roasted veggies but again, they messed up. My lunch came out with two orders of french fries, no veggies. Steak was cooked properly, exactly as I ordered. Server forget one of the orders placed at my table and had to come back to verify. Fruit fly was in one of the alcoholic beverages ordered. The fine details were missed and the restaurant wasn't even busy! Overall, the food was very good. Can't say the same for our service.

I used their online takeout service and it was super easy to use and was made on time to the minute. The service at the door was great aswell. Aside from the amazing service, the food was perfect. Came here for date night after seeing so many awesome reviews on here. I got the peppercorn steak and it was really good. I had to add a little salt and some parts were a bit burnt but inside the cook was good. The drink I ordered was super strong, it was a peach something or the other. Apart from being strong there was nothing special about it. My partner got chicken and ribs and his chicken was basically white and had very little seasoning or colour. I ordered the 3 dessert platter and coffee, and the whipped cream was broken and was all curdled and gross. The only nice dessert of the three was the creme brûlée. The waitress was very nice however and they took the dessert and coffee off and gave us a gift card for our next visit so that’s why I’m leaving so many stars. I appreciate that they at least did their best to make us leave satisfied. But I still wanted to leave an honest review for anyone out there who may want to visit. Overall I would probably visit again.

Overall it was a mediocre experience. We made a reservation for a two hour sitting. When we arrive they were behind schedule, no issue. We don’t get sat until 20 minutes after our reservation time and told we still have our two hours. Perfect. We enjoy our meal, and then they come to kick us out when we should technically have 20 minutes left. To make it even worse, as we are leaving there is literally no one waiting to be sat, we were forced to leave for no reason. For two people we ordered 3 apps, 2 of the most expensive entrees, 2 dessert trios, and a bottle of wine and two extra glasses of wine. We paid for that table time and then some. The beets were not peeled which was gross, but that may just be me. The creme brûlée was the one good thing though! All in all, I won’t be returning, and would suggest others don’t even go a first time.

Went here for a joint birthday party 7 people total. Good service but food wasn't the best. Caesar salad starter was just lettuce. Steak had no flavour and came out cold. Veggies were undercooked. Went to chop late summer of 2021. I wish I could give 3.5 as 3 feels a bit too low and 4 is definitely a little too high. The good: Service staff was really pleasant and checked on us regularly. When one of the undesirables of downtown made their way to our table the staff quickly escorted them out. Steak was cooked nearly perfectly. Cocktails were tasty if unremarkable. The bad; AC wasn't working (well after the heat wave had passed) and it was uncomfortably warm in there. Appetizers were pretty underwhelming and mains took a surprising amount of time to come out for how slow the restaurant was. Overall I'd give it a 'just ok', not bad enough I wouldn't give them another chance, but not good enough that I planning on returning when there's so many other places to try.

The garlic toast that comes with the food is not edible bc it tastes like butter. The shrimp appetizer with garlic was greasy and tasted like raw uncooked garlic. The fries were from frozen and their chicken fingers was greasy. Lathe Cesar salad had terrible bacon and prepackaged dressing. The service is great but it’s empty inside and kind of depressing.

I wish I could give less stars. Upon opening one of my to-go boxes we found at least 3 little bugs crawling around the inside on our food. I ordered around $65 worth of food and I can’t eat a single bite, It’s disgusting. I don’t want to know how many more bugs there might’ve been hiding in one of the sandwiches or the potatoes. The food tasted good. However, we were never offered warm bread before our meal. I thought this was a standard service at Chop but maybe they have stopped doing that. We also ordered a bottle of white wine for the table, which came in a metal canister. Unfortunately the server didn't put ice in the canister, which we didn't realize until our wine was warm. At that point I had to ask the bartender to put ice in it to try and cool the wine down.

This was my first time at Chop and I couldn't have been more impressed. All the staff were so great! And the food was absolutely on point! We had an Ahi Tuna appetizer that was to die for and a ribeye Alberta stake that was so tender and flavourful that it melted in your mouth. Our servers Kaitlin & Colin were friendly and attentive, and came back frequently to check on us. Food was great, and served in a very short wait time. I visited here for the first time today for my sister's birthday. Honestly, everything was absolutely amazing. The staff is very attentive and courteous. This Steakhouse stives on their attention to detail and successful customer service skills. They are extremely accommodating for any type of food allergy and the food is worth the price. I didn't get the awesome hostess' name, but our server's name was Courtney. She was amazing and deserves every tip she earns! It’s sad to go to a nice restaurant and have to say the best thing I ate here were the fries. Tried some appetizers which were average. The steak bites varied greatly in size, which is probably why the big pieces were raw inside. For dinner had some kind of fancy- sounding salad which was soggy and overwhelmed with a very lemony sour dressing. Ordered it with chicken which was a very small tasteless portion. No one else in my party was impressed with their dinner either. Tasted the burger, which was both in consistency & flavour like mush. On the bright side the service is very nice.

So first off the reason this isn't a 2 star is because of the fantastic recovery done by the front of house team & the chef so awesome job keep it up however the kitchen is seriously lacking care and miss on alot of the little things that make you stand out today, started with onion rings which were good but lacked seasoning the basil Mayo had a raw garlic burn the more you had, our mains were rough we had the burger (partner had no issues with it) and the 13oz ribeye which was ordered medium unfortunately it came out medium rare and over seasoned this was surprising as we where one of maybe 5 total tables at the time, manager came over to touch the table agreed the steak was indeed under and brought a totally new plate about 15-20 minutes later and this steak looked over when set down and after cutting into it was clearly over, asked what temperature it got pulled off the grill was told 148 which is medium well resting into well done showing that the employee was rattled or simply didn't care after talking with the chef he stood behind his cook explaining he was just having an off day I hope this is the case and if this employee sees this it happens not the end of the world mistakes happen but on that 2nd chance you have got to dial in shake it off and give it your best because your chef seems to believe in you and I look forward to having your best effort in the future. Management comped the ribeye and added lobster tail as well as dessert which was very enjoyable and the bar tender was on point with the cocktails which made for an enjoyable evening despite the issues mentioned.

For our 26th anniversary we thought we'd give Chop a go, and we are glad we did. Last evening was one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long while. Our server (Kaelyn) was outstanding and the food was delicious. While waiting for our meal, a warm roll and whipped butter is served. I had the Cesar salad to start and the Sirloin Oscar. The shrimp and scallops set atop the top sirloin were seasoned and cooked to perfection. The steak was also cooked wonderfully med rare, just like I asked. My wife had the Filet Mignon with baked potato, bearnaise and mushrooms also cooked perfectly. The atmosphere is very much what I'd expect from a high-end steak house, soft lighting, soft music and great modern decor. Now the price did seem a little dear, but this was a special occasion and Chop did take really good care of us. We finished off the night with a complimentary bottle of champagne and a Creme brulee, which was delightfull. I would highly recommend Chop. Congratulations owners and staff.

First time reviewing. Living downtown Edmonton I have visited the downtown Edmonton Chop location many times over the last 8 years, and have always had a positive experience. Last night Dec 4/21 @9:30pm was different. My wife and I sat at the bar and immediately noticed that the bar top was quite dirty, sticky and stained from previous glasses and plates. This was quite evident under the lamp lighting. We moved down several seats, but it was no different. Once the bartender came over we politely informed her and asked if she could clean the bar top where we were sitting. She didn’t say a word, rolled her eyes and walked the other way. She returned with a used cloth from the other side of the bar and quickly wiped it down. My wife then asked to see the happy hour menu. The bartender abruptly grabbed a drink menu from in front of an empty seat, tossed it down, flipped to the happy hour menu and walked away. At this point we made the decision to leave. As we were leaving the bartender came back and my wife informed her of the reason we were leaving. She arrogantly offered for us to speak to her manager, who was also behind the bar at the time. The manager was courteous and apologized. However, unfortunately I do not have much faith that the employee will be spoken to on her attitude and cleanliness issues since they seemed to be quite friendly with each other during this encounter. Needless to say my motivation to return to this location is low after this visit. The poor attitude and clear disregard for cleanliness by this bartender has definitely spoiled it.

Server was by herself and the bar area was so busy so she couldn't coordinate well when it came to the bill since we were 5 couples, the most brutal thing is that there was 3 Hotel workers with the logo of the hotel on their shirts got drunk and started to behave weird and keep staring on our table , the host and bar tender noticed that but they didn't make the efforts to move them away or talk to them!! The restaurant belong to this hotel and I think they have to place a policy for their workers to behave well in their properties for better reputation, I used to go frequently to this restaurant but after this chaos last night I don't think that I'll go again!! Okay I have trying for a long time to get in for dinner. I finally got a great excuse Birthday Dinner for a good friend, and my wife. They are having the taste of Burloak Specials to go along with the Taste of Burlington. We ordered off that menu: 3 courses, soup or salad, 4 choices meat, fish, chicken or steak $35.00 or you could have the Prime Rib dinner $45.00. The prime rib was melt in your mouth, I started with the Caesar Salad, perfect in all respects, my wife had the French Onion Soup almost as good as mine, which means it is really good. We had the Prime Rib and it was as I have already mentioned "Fantastic", fresh horse radish, baked potato and a Tomato Gratin. Then came the Creme Brulle for dessert. Wow! The bar stocks premium brands and I indulged my secret desire in the best top shelf Scotch! Laphroaig 12yr old & a Maclallen Rare Cask. You only live once as they say. Thanks ambience was great, the service worth every penny of a top tip. We will return the sooner the better.

My wife and I ate at Chop last night. My filet mignon was delicious and perfectly cooked and my wife enjoyed her blackened halibut. Everything from the salad to mains to sides was very good and the service was friendly and quick. Only minor complaint was the creme brûlée was burnt but that was quickly rectified with a new one in less than 5 min. Good atmosphere and good food. We left feeling very happy about our first visit!

service need improvement, one of manager and his staff grabbed our coats from our seats without our permission, i would never expect that its fine for someone to grab someones personal belongings without their permission and on top of that in a pandemic , this is definitely not safe for the clients, also if this unprofessionalism happened infront of us it very debatable what happens in the kitchen where we cant see how things are being handled. would not recommend this place to someone.

Came here to celebrate our engagement. Staff and management went above and beyond to make the night special. Me and my friend with her baby went there for Friday lunch around 1145am. It wasn't too busy yet when we went there. We ordered house salad, chop burger and caribbean rum cake with tea for our drink. They served salad right away. It had caramelize nuts on top and variety of veges. We loved and the baby enjoyed edamame beans. The burger was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The brioche bun was fresh. It had 2 different cheese. The flavored bacon was nice accent and there were so many of them. The patty was thick and nicely done. By the time we finish our burger, it got quite busy and we needed to wait for our dessert. The rum cake was sooo pretty and tasty tho!! I could have two or even more.

My girlfriend and I had the BEST girl's night at Chop. Melissa was our server and she was so sweet and accommodating. We ended up taking the remainder of our wine bottle home that we purchased during dinner and accidentally dropped it in the parking lot. The food was excellent and the hostess was very accommodating. However, our waitress could have been more attentive. We were not told if there were any specials. We were there for Father's Day and the dads at the table next to us were given something special and that was not offered to us. They have high chairs and a children's menu, but no change table or glassware appropriate for children. I would go back, but probably for date night and leave the kids with a sitter.

I visit Chop on an annual basis, and after several consistently bad experiences at the Keg I was looking for a more high end place to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Chop has become THE place for me to go. As far as steakhouses go it seems like it's a lot to ask to have your beef cooked right, not with Chop; when it's not cooked exactly how you like it, the staff/management will personally make sure you not only receive exactly what you want, but compensate the extra time taken to achieve this. The staff are excellent and friendly, always adding the personal touch with signed birthday and anniversary cards, and the atmosphere is what you'd expect from a modern steakhouse. The sides are all made with the same quality as the steaks, the drinks are reasonably priced and house options are above par. The main point here though, is that the experience and food are undoubtedly worth the expense, and that Chop staff and management will go out of their way to make sure that the cost of my dinner reflects that. They thanked me and my S.O. for celebrating our anniversary with them when we ate their last, but really I should be thanking them for always exceeding my expectations.

Pre ordered a dinner for delivery at 6:15pm and have been waiting for nearly 2 hours and nothing has arrived! No one is answering phones either at the restaurant, as apparently they are receiving endless calls from customers (as per what the hotel staff mentioned) and aren't bothering to reply. My mum and I went here for an early dinner on a Saturday. We were seated in the restaurant in one of the tall backed comfortable booths. Very pleasant serving staff from entering to exiting. So much to choose from on the menu, we settled on the Prime Rib done medium rare, one with the loaded baked potato, one with mashed and a side of the sauteed mushrooms. I had the mashed potatoes, so silky and buttery. Nicely roasted red peppers and zucchini. Temperature on the meat was absolutely perfect. Fabulous experience. We are already planning an evening out next month with friends and have decided on a repeat visit.

Excellent service and steaks are cooked perfectly. The quality of the beef and seasoning make for one of the best steaks I've had. Their jumbo scallops are also very good, as was the French onion soup (though there could have been a bit more bread and cheese). All of this is in a more casual but still slightly elevated ambience, making for a much more comfortable restaurant in my opinion. Highly eecommended!

Very disappointed with Chop tonight.. My boyfriend and I are staying the night at the Sandman and he decided he wanted to try Chop, as he never had before. Upon entering the restaurant to pick up our order, we were rudely told that takeout orders were supposed to be picked up from their side door. Then once we did pick up our order, we were given $13 in change for a $56.85 bill that my boyfriend used a $100 bill to pay for. Before we had the chance to say anything, the woman who gave us our change quickly re-entered the building. This has left an extremely sour taste in our mouths and because of this experience we are highly unlikely to be repeat customers.

From this reviewer's perspective, this location simply met expectations...with one exception. Staff were friendly and the selection of adult beverages were on par with most other higher end eateries. For starters, we opted for the crab cakes, which were house made and delicious. We then ordered some Winnipeg Rye loaf for a special cause. For the main course, my partner ordered the Artisan Salad with chicken, and I opted for the steak (medium rare) and shrimp. While my partner enjoyed the salad, I was less impressed with the steak. It was cooked correctly and was nice and tender. My disappointment was in the spices which overpowered the flavour of the meat. With each bite, I could only taste the myriad of spices and none of the meat. Overall, I'd give it another try, but may request that the chef limit the number of shakes of the spice container.

Our server Reuben helped us choose a wine to go with dinner and brought us a special dessert. The steaks were fantastic and the Chef brought out our dinner personally. I also ordered a dessert to go and Reuben brought it in a bag letting us know that there was a voucher for the next time we came. When I opened the bag at home, there was not only the voucher, but card attached that said Happy Anniversary and the whole team had signed it! It was not only one of the best dinners I have had in a long time but we really appreciated all the little touches that made our night that much more special. Thank you Chop we will definitely be back!

This place is great! Quality food with great taste. Drinks taste amazing. Personally, I come from Miami a day early to enjoy the whiskey sour. Well.. I got to the Winnipeg location but was excited when I saw they had one in Regina. Bartender: She is amazing and very friendly. As soon as I walked in. I felt at home. Waitress: All did an amazing job. I like to see how a business operates and they do a great job! They were all very friendly, well dressed, and created a comfortable environment. Smiles and great manners. Hostess: She did an amazing job! Didnt stand around waiting for people to come in. She was up and at it the entire time! Tip my hat to you! Management: Not the typical managers you see another restaurant. Well.. I take the term managers back. Should have begun with leaders. Great leadership! Helping their staff to keep the restaurant working smoothly. To conclude, everyone did an amazing job! Highly recommend Chop! Like I mentioned before. Had a great meal tonight with a coworker. Steak bites (shown in picture) and onion rings for an appetizer and scallops and prime rib for our mains. My scallops were excellent! Our server, Melissa, was very friendly and paced our meal perfectly so I could enjoy several beverages. I will definitely be back. Very convenient location for me being attached to the Sandman hotel.

I want to rate this place a two but I'm going to give it a three and give it the benefit of the doubt because I wasn't in the best mood. The drinks weren't great. The steak was ok. The shrimp add-on was 20 bucks and they were the smallest tasteless shrimp I've ever had, it was really disappointing. The scallops were surprisingly tasty, but weren't that warm. Horrible service. Food was decent but honestly a keg steak tastes better. Wine was excellent. What I'm disgusted by is (I'm guessing a manager) this lady walking around like some bimbo wearing a zebra dress that so short her golden arch being visible. She could barely walk in her high heels. This is something I expect in a tittle bar, not a place I want to enjoy a steak. Second is my server was never around once. I had to ask another server for water. Just not what I expect for paying 20 bux for a glass of wine and 45 bux for a steak. The keg makes a mean rib steak for cheaper and all the servers and staff are professionally dressed rather than some 2 dollar stripper. I should of just paid for the wine and left before my steak cake but I was starving so badly I was shaking. I finished my meal in 5 mins, paid then left. Good luck if your gonna try this place out. Hope you get a better service.

We had our staff party there last weekend and it was a great overall experience. The atmosphere in the lounge was also great! There were a few issues with our food order but how it was handled was so appreciated. Ajariya handled serving our large group well, and Jesse made sure that any mistakes were taken care of - he definitely went above and beyond. For a location that had to get back on it's feet after being closed for 16 months, they worked extremely hard to make our experience memorable. Everyone was beyond impressed with the food and service.

Came in on a Thursday around 930. Lots of room, no wait time to be seated, nice decor, although music a bit loud. Pina Coladas were great to start. Had chili garlic shrimp which was excellent and a French onion soup which was not. An excellent rib-eye which while perfectly cooked and tasty was way heavy on the sauce to the point where it overpowered everything else on the plate. Same with the salad - good but swimming in dressing. Sauces and dressings are supposed to accent the food not be food. Overall a Keg level experience from a place which purports to be higher class and definitely charges higher up prices. While it wasn't bad per se, I doubt I'll be back.

We have been coming here for years now and we have only had 2 problems and both times the managers have been great. One time we got our meal for free (toronto locations) and this time at the Oakville location the waitress Josie miss packed are to go food and got the manager to make use a free steak and potato without us even knowing what was happening. We never had to complain, even if we wanted to because it was dealt with right away. She was an amazing waitress from the moment we sat down. They are so great. We are customers for life!!

Love this place! I've visited them a good 3 or 4 times now when I'm in Regina and it's been pretty great each time. Their cocktails are delicious, I love that they serve seasonal vegetables that AREN'T soggy and that you actually want to eat. I had the Maple Bourbon Haddock which was great. My partner had the chicken dish which was a little lacking in "oomph" but was cooked well and the sides were tasty as always. Atmosphere is great. We'll be back!

Wife Regan here: 4/4 family members liked their steaks. 0/4 family members liked the kale. I ordered the seasonal vegetables as my side (trying to avoid carbs), and received a pile of under-cooked kale as the 'vegetable'. A potato replacement was brought when I inferred I'd rather eat dirt. Kale is trendy, but an acquired taste; acquired by having no taste. Sorry Chop, this Prairie gal will not pay to eat a weed.

Enjoyed a wonderful lunch for four a few days ago. The décor, food, and service were first class! A great new restaurant with a broad and enticing menu and reasonable prices. One suggestion: the volume of the music was way too high . . . more like a nightclub than a sophisticated restaurant. Thankfully, our server was able to have it turned down. We made reservations online for Saturday July 17, as it was my boyfriends birthday. With covid and the lockdowns we haven't been out much, and we just had a baby three months ago. It was our first night out alone! Sam, the manager was absolutely fantastic. He was warm and welcoming. He made great conversations with us throughout our dining experience. Gillian was our server. She was very knowledgeable, happy and a delight to speak with. We were very impressed with the food quality and presentation. Great job everyone and thank you!

Was very disappointed with almost our entire meal this evening. Everything tasted so off and flavourless compared to last time. This was our first meal out since everything reopened and we really thought it would be amazing based on our last experience. At first we had to send our meals back because steak was cooked well done instead of medium and the prime rib could not even be cut through (not their fault). The mushrooms also had no flavour. Our new meals at first seemed okay but then I realized my steak started to taste sour and ended up rare as I kept cutting it…there was also no perfect sear/craziness on the outside that it usually has. The second prime rib was perfect. Their new side dish, broccolini, just tasted sour like lemon was squeezed on it. So disappointed. Service was amazing though.
