Service was decent however the food was terrible. The fajitas are brought to you with the ingredients separate from the pita, so you have to assemble them yourself. There was not enough chicken or sour cream to make 4 small fajitas. It was also very over priced. It’s a nice place to enjoy drinks, but the food is not worth the cost.

This is a nice place to hang out, with an outdoors terrace as well. A bar area separate from the restaurant keeps this place a hip party area for adults as well as youngsters. Really enjoyed the vegetarian entrées, cauliflower and broccoli poppers with dip. And the cocktails were delicious.

We use to go to JA every now and then when they first opened years ago and now I remember why we haven't returned there in years. Food is good and nice atmosphere BUT there service is so ANNOYING!!!! I understand that the waiters/tress are trying to be friendly and provide good service but honestly I really don't need them to come by every few minutes and interrupt our dinner by asking is everything is ok. We can't even enjoy our dinner and have a conversation without this constant interruption...that alone we will probably not return again. It's probably not their fault and was trained that way but if they want a good tip, well the tip is tone it down with this kind of service.

Food wise it's your typical Jack Astor's. But if you want good beer then this is the spot for you. They have multiple craft brewery taps full of local and provincial flavors. It's a great improvement and has made me go back to this spot when I otherwise wouldn't!

I've been going to Jack's for over 10 years now and the food is always great. The prices have gotten a little steep over the past few years and portions are getting smaller. All in all it's a great family restaurant with a fun atmosphere.

Normal chain restaurant. The beer selection is excellent, I had the opportunity to try a few brews. The menu has a bit of everything. I'm always weary of places that have no specialty and this is one of those. The food was fine. There are few vegeterian options and no vegan options without asking for a modification. The restaurant and bar seemed busy so I guess it's a popular spot in the West Island. Not really my cup of tea

Service was minimal, which I sort of understand given the number of customers at lunch time, this could be a survival mode for restaurants and I understand.

We love this place. I guess it changed owners as it used to be Jack Astor and now Jack’s Dorval. Still a nice place to go especially with kids, for birthdays and (long) work lunches. I was disappointed to see the desert menu has drastically changed (and no more banana split!).

Went there over the weekend and I brought my girlfriends. I'm not one to write reviews but the experience was so fantastic, I decided to make an exception. The food was very good, though expensive. I ordered the chicken bow-ties which I have never tried but got the recommendation from our phenomenal waiter. We had a Chocolate cake for dessert, which was also very well worth the price. The service was a solid 10/10, Our waiter (Joey, I believe) was very pleasant to speak to and easy on the eyes might i add.. He gave us great recommendations for drinks, meals, and even desserts when asked what was good. Constantly checked in on us and always made us feel open to call him for anything. Overall, a solid place to go to have a good time, just make sure you are aware that you will be spending quite a bit of money for a meal but other then that. A combination of good food with great service and an amazing environment, it will ensure you have a fantastic time!

I recently started taking my kids here on weekends. They enjoy the food and our server Jessie is always amazing. He is not only always smiling but he's super great with the kids. He's always ready to make recommendations on what we should try and rarely are we disappointed. Try the poke if you like tuna and the wings with the ginger sauce. And the Asian nachos need to be put back on the menu - those were AMAZING!

Very disappointed experience. Yesterday when I ordered some fries an 4 tall can pack, I paid 33 dollars and just receive one beer and cold fries. The order was incomplete, I already submit my complaint in UBER EATS but they just a delivery service it not their fault. Also the delivery guy never wait for me in the door they just leave the order was weird cause part of my order was alcohol. Update: they ask for my email to apologies and have more information regarding this, I send them an email, the answer: they will put me in contact with the manager for that location. Nobody contact me since that email. They DON'T CARE about the costumer. Not even have a refund or at least try to complete the order. Uber eats was the one who refund me a proportional part for the order. My suggestion if you are going to order something from this place, use the pick up option. Or saved your money and order from another place!

It has been a couple of years since we've eaten at Jack Astor's and I have to say what a disappointment. Way way way over priced for the amount of food on your rectangular plate. $16 bucks for a burger that was no bigger than what you get at a fast food place and a serious lack of seasoning in the beef. And you get more fries in a happy meal. The only thing that hasn't changed is the service which is still great which is why they get 2 stars and not 1.

Went as a large group and the waitstaff handled us all well enough. Did not wait very long for food and everyone received their meals within 5-10 minutes. The food was excellent. I had the Tuna Poke bowl, it was fresh and delicious.

Jack Astor's is all about having fun. Draw (or have your kids draw!) on your table while you wait, enjoy a good meal with friends, maybe a pint or two. Prices are fair and the food, above average depending what you get. The major drawback to this place is that the noise level, no matter when you go, seems to be high. PS: The chicken fingers are great!

I used to love this place. Quality food, decent prices, lots of variety and fun atmosphere. However, ever since Covid, they've gone seriously downhill. Lots of the classic top notch dishes are gone and the existing ones seem less quality. I ate at the one in TO and they smothered my asian chicken sweet pea dish with cheap thai chilli sauce. It was brutal. Then the one in Montreal informed me they no longer serve fajitas (which IMO was one of their best dishes). Oh, and neither places serve milkshakes anymore. The menus are printed using ultra tiny text and their wifi is brutal as it won't let you connect to their menu app (which is what they want you to use) Literally wasted 10 minutes trying to connect before going to ask a hostess for menus. Look, maybe you don't care about the milkshakes or the fajitas... and if that's the case then yeah, the food is decent and the atmosphere still seems pretty good. But it aint what it used to be that's for sure. And for the prices they charge, I'll take a hard pass till they get their stuff together

Called ahead to ask if there was a wait, was told by the hostess that the restaurant was empty.. 15 minutes later when I arrived, 6 families were ahead of me and 10 minutes were quoted as wait time... Fast forward to 25 minutes later and empty tables were still being prepped while we're still waiting for a spot to sit. We finally get to sit and that's when the real wait begins. We order calamari as an appetizer, it arrives reasonably fast but was one of the worst I ever had: rubbery, too many tentacles, and not tasting good at all. We order the main courses and wait for a LONG time before we finally get our meals. Last straw was the cold cookie my daughter got for dessert. Bottom line: long wait to get seated while you can see many empty tables. Don't order the calamari because it seriously sucks. Be ready to wait and wait and wait for your main course. But they have Moosehead on tap... That's why they get 2 stars instead of 1

When Jack Astor’s opened back in the late 90s , it was a hang out for my friends and I because most of our high school gang worked there. Over the years I went back a few times and it was still good. Decided to go back with my girl friend and friends and great food and service again , just when did Jack Astor’s cost as much as Baton Rouge ?? Obviously they changed their menu and prices went up. For my girl friend and I , we had both Chicken Club Sandwich and an entree , plus two diet Coke’s and it came to 80$. Lol. Wow. Their prices increased and thank god the food is still good.

I use to come here quite a bit for lunch . Food, and service has always been good. Prices were a little high, but if you ordered from the lunch menu, it was generally reasonable . At my most recent visit, they have taken away the lunch menu, and increased the prices again. This use to be a great spot for casual dining . Now with these prices, you can find a lot better food for less money. A total rip off for pub food . Will not be coming back here .

The food is very unique and common at the same time. I find they spin recipes dishes in a creative way. There is food for every palate but keep in mind it's high end pub food. They have a great drink selection. They have a unique tradition when you go there to celebrate your birthday. Be warned but have fun! Oh and its super family friendly. Went for a quick supper with kids. Pluses... clean, casual, quirky decor, colouring paper on tables, kids menu, varied adult food and drinks options, friendly service. However I was disappointed this time with my meal, the sauce on the burger was so sour I couldn't finish it. Hoping it was just an off night. The desserts my kids had (brownie sundae and banana split) were huge. My ridiculously small brownie was actually the perfect size.

First off, I waited standing in the entrance for a good 5 minutes before realizing no one would give me table to sit on a empty restaurent ( now I know why it was empty ). Pick up a table, saw 2 waitress talk to each other in a corner one of them notice me, give me a menu and come back 20 minutes later asking for my order. Ended up ordering a burger. Burger was cold. Temperature aside, that burger didn't worted 20$. Don't go on this place.

It was our first time at this location and it will be our last. We ordered burgers and wings and it was nothing special about this meal. My son who loves burgers couldn’t not eat the burger ordered. It was dry. The worst were the wings which some were not well cooked so could not be eaten since they were raw at the bone. What disturbed me is that when we showed this to the waitress, they did not even offered a dessert as an apology not to mention a discount. The waitress was apologetic but that’s it.

Pre-covid, we'd frequent this place quite often. I was worried about our first visit back because of how other restaurants struggled and had to change over the pandemic. The menu looks reduced and there aren't peanuts all over the bar floor anymore. However, the excellent taste and ambiance are still there. We'll be regulars once again. The only thing is I wish they'd bring back the quesadillas and apple pie.

Quite pricey for what you get. One of the things I ordered were some nachos and they were, like, $13. Decent environment. They have a bar area and a dining area where they don't serve alcohol, which I appreciated. It wasn't busy for a weekend, maybe because that night it was the UFC fight (Khabib vs McGregor), and they weren't playing the fight, hehe!

I have been there once with my husband and two friends and the experience was lots of fun. The garlic bread is some of the best garlic bread I have ever eaten in my life. It's so buttery and delicious. Overall, the food was great, and very nicely presented. It is a little bit on the pricey side though for the portions.

Great lively place for a "chill" evening out with the family. Not much vegetarian selections. Portions are good and the service is always friendly. Beer selection seems to be getting slightly better which is always a plus, especially with the type of food they're serving. We've been to this location of Jack Astor's several times now and they never disappoint. The servers always get our orders right (even with minor modifications), they're very pleasant, and the food always comes out piping hot. If I had to knock off a few points, I'd say that when I ordered the caesar salad it had too much dressing, but that's a personal preference thing and I could have ordered the dressing on the side. If you haven't tried them before, try the buffalo chicken fingers -- they're amazing!! REAL, juicy chicken!

sometimes at a restaurant something burns in the kitchen and after a few minutes the smoke discipates and goes away/staff do their best to air the place out. Burning smoke was literally thick in the air our entire meal not a window or door opened. The chef thinks he’s in Hell’s Kitchen and yells “ORDER UP” at the top of his lungs for every prepared plate. People were literally jumping out of their seats when he would scream. This isn’t really a family restaurant if you have young kids either the menu is pretty sad. If you’re looking for a quick less than mediocre meal and poor/careless service then this is your place!

The staff are very nice and attentive. Burger was good, do yourself a favor and ask for the smoked mozzarella cheese instead of cheddar (not charged extra). The garlic cheese bread entree was good and serves enough for 4 people.

My colleagues and I went here for drinks and snacks after work a couple of weeks ago. We haven't been to this location in a long time, and we were all pleasantly surprised with the selection of the menu, many types of drinks and how busy it was! We ordered a variety of food items (nachos, wings, etc) and drinks (beer, wine, sangria) and everything was good. We found the prices in certain items to be a tad high, but the quality was good. What we enjoyed the most was our waiter's friendliness, prompt service and pleasant attitude! Thanks!

Highly disappointed! My daughters took me out for my birthday along with my best friend and her daughters. The waiter was worst than a deer in headlights. He took our drink orders , o asked him for a glass a water because I need to take my medication... times goes by and he comee back empty handed to retake our order again to make sure. When I finally get my sangria the glass had a rotten shriveled up strawberry on it. So I showed the waiter and asked him if he would eat that or drink from that glass. My daughter received her pan garlic bread it was barely warm not even browned on top. I get my main meal and my tortillas where legit raw in the middle. So kinda of made me lose my appetite. Yes gotten straight out except no discount off my meal nor a complement of anything extra. We got our glasses of water when we had our main meal. I took my leftovers to go.... damn lucky I checked he didn't put my leftover tortilla. My youngest daughter meal came with a dessert, I had to remind him after the meal etc... mind you with how all it was going my stress level and patience were through the roof. Beside he came back again to make sure the bills were right 4 bills for 7 of us. Here I am on my birthday trying to enjoy it with my family and friends and I just couldn't get out of the place fast enough. To the point my daughters and friend didn't have the chance to sing happy birthday to me nor I even got my birthday cake. Instead as I pulled myself up to get out the door.... I had a panic attack a gush of adrenaline emotions where I could barely breath because what should have been a great rememorable evening was one of the worst. I can except a few errors of a busy night... except come on a quiet Monday evening from 7-9 pm.

The last time I saw a waitress in this good of a mood was when I was down in Tennessee where southern hospitality is everywhere you go. We got served very quickly and the food was great! It was a Raptors game night, when we went to Jacks. The restaurant was pretty much full house but we got a table in around 4-5 minutes. Everyone knows Jack Astor's and there is no need to explain the details of the restaurant and the ambiance, so I will directly go to the food and the service. The food was good ( and we know how ginormous are the portions served). The only thing went wrong was with the drink. The server got one of our drink wrong which was eventually replaced but the wait time was long for the replacement.

This was always one of our favorite pub-style restaurants; however, because of Covid-19 this was the first time we have ordered takeout. All the portions were much smaller than in the restaurant, the chicken wings were bland, the sauce tasted off, the $10 poutine was the size of a $4 McDonald's poutine, and the chicken bowl only came with half of a chicken breast instead of a full breast, and one sliver of avocado. After spending $70 for 2 adults and 2 kids we would expect to be full at the end of the meal...very disappointing experience.

Just ordered through UBER EATS, the food was not good. Calamari was dry. Old meat for steak, and asked for rare and it was sent uncooked, chewy and not edible. Dumped it in the garbage. Ordered baked potatoes and received fries and sweet potatoes instead. Such a waste of money, bill was $90. I should had Ordered from Vieux Duluth instead!! Save your money and get food elsewhere.

This place changed my life when I was blessed to work at Jack Astor's back in 1994 until I made a hugely dumb mistake and engaged in New Year's Eve staff acrobatics with a fat guy who, because of me, fell on his head and later sued the company resulting in my getting fired. My advice? Don't let fat guys to do back flips. #OAMFG

I find the new menu overpriced for mediocre food that sometimes is served luke warm. I've been going to Jack's since it opened way back when the food was delicious and the vibe was fun. Now it's disappointing. Getting rid of the lunch menu was a huge let down too. I gave it two stars based on service alone the waitress/waiters are friendly and fast. Bathrooms could use an updated renovation.

I went there with my wife and daughter, I used to go there very often when I was in my 20s and I remember I used to love the place. Lets just say I prefer my memories. The menu was smaller and less attractive then I remembered, there's no pictures on the menu, so you cant see what you will be ordering. My wife had a salad with beets and I took a tuna bowl. My kid took a hamburger. Plates arrived fairly quickly, but both my wife and I were disappointed in the quantity of our food for the price. My wife's salad was supposed to have roasted chicken, but she could barely see it in the salad, I even looked with her to find the chicken and assumed she simply forgot to ask for the chicken till we found a piece eventually. My daughter's hamburger felt very dry and not freshly cooked for the time it arrived in the plate. With that said, I felt the food didn't taste that great either. I'm not saying it was bad, I just never went : hey, this is pretty good. I usually love fries and took a few from my daughter's plate (I usually finish all her fries when she's done) but her fries were so underwhelming, I didn't even finish them. Service started out super good too, but once our plates arrived, it took our waitress lots of time before we got the bill and could pay for it. So overall, a very flat experience, far from my memories. Quantity in their bowls and salads should increase, they were over 20$ each and I've been to other places where I pay less for more. Fries and burgers could be better. I don't think I'll go back there sometime soon.

Parking a little bit far because of McDs taking alot of spaces but no worries, a long walk is good after all that food :) Garlic Loaf as always didn't disappoint, loves my fried chicken sandwich and that deceptively small "who hid my brownie" dessert (must have omg). Highlight for us was the waiter, Sacha, awesome guy who took good care of us and also the manager who came back with a brand new plate of pasta for my gf after she sent back the prev one for being cold. Normally most places I've been to would just nuke it but the fact that the manager came out with a brand new one personally, to me speak volumes. Will definitely return soon.

Ordered a salad (the smiling Buddha). It was described as “Roasted chicken, mixed greens, arugula, red quinoa, cucumber, apple, strawberries, dried cranberries, spiced pecans, honey Dijon dressing, fresh mint, basil, and goat cheese crumble”. What I was served was QUITE different. It was soggy iceberg lettuce, no mixed greens or arugula, no pecans, no mint or basil either. The quinoa on it was MAYBE 2 tablespoons worth (why even put it on it). And it wasn’t a cheap salad. Our server was nice, but that’s all I can say. Wouldn’t return.

Perfect service, Thé issue at hand is the quality of what’s served. I remember Jacks as the place to go to. When I was 17, I would come here and enjoy everything from the servings, the service and the ice in the urinals. It’s been years since I’ve been back. I had steak with a salad and she had a chicken bowl. The chicken bowl was made with cheap Boston lettuce and most likely microwave chicken. About 4 or five small slices. My steak was honestly good, but my side salad with Italian dressing was sad and tasteless. The issue here is not service but the food quality. Sure the lettuce was fresh, but sad. Our meals cost me 78$ including two glasses of wine and a Diet Coke. Jack Astor’s, I hope you see my message and change your ways, I can guaranty this will be my last time visiting your restaurants in a long time. I hope you realize you’re shooting yourselves in the foot. Just charge more if you have to, but please serve plates we pay for. Best of luck.

I had not been back to Jack Astor's in over a year. The service was very good, and the atmosphere hasn't changed, but obviously they changed their menu. I like to try new and different foods when I eat out, and saw that there were many 'Asian Fusion' dishes on the menu. I decided to start with the Asian Tacos and really regretted my decision. The mix of sauces and flavours was awful. To me, nothing in this dish worked. After expressing my disatisfaction to our waiter, he asked if there was something else we would like instead, or if we would order main course meals. We ordered our meals, and I never heard about my awful 13$ experience again, with not even a discount or an apology. Because I chose to pay for more food, I guess it was ok to them, that I had a bad experience. So I received a 75$ bill and tipped accordingly, as the service was not the problem. My oppinion is that Jack Astor's seems to have lost what had made them great, and are trying too hard with their menu changes, then will loose customers regardless of their effort.

Not really vegetarian friendly but they do have some options. Extensive alcoholic beverage menu. I have been there quite a few times. Service has always been pretty good although there have been times where it has been mediocre.

My first time visiting the location and the experience was a fail. A friend and I came yesterday evening, and we were served by a very nice waitress, but unfortunately, her service was the only pleasant part of our night. We both placed an order for 10 chicken wings which came out of the kitchen quite rapidly, but after the first few bites, we realized that our wings were raw in centre. Not undercooked or bloody, but actually raw. The server came back to do her quality check and I showed my wings to her, she immediately took them back. So far so good. The manager came by some time after and quickly said, sorry, new wings are coming, I tried to mention to him that his establishment had served us RAW chicken and that we were worried about the situation but I was met with à passive aggressive “yea well wings aren’t supposed to crunch when you eat them” a pat on the back and just left us. Not very engaged for the FOH manager who just potentially gave us salmonella. New wings came back, they we’re done right. It took until we were done eating for the manager to come check up on recook, once again, not very involved or genuinely apologetic. It felt like the situation was a burden for him. My friend and I went out for a smoke, and when we came back, our glasses (2 beers 1/3 full and 2 double chivas on the rocks with a few sips taken) were gone. When the waitress came back, we asked where our drinks were, and she was quite uneasy as she realized what happened. We got a complementary round to replace our old ones, but the manager never came around to apologize, only the server did. We were comp’d the wings but overall, I don’t feel like we were taken seriously by management. A little more involvement from the manager on duty would have made a huge difference in our experience.

Went at 4:15PM Good Friday. Had garlic shrimp tomato pasta and it tasted stale and smelled/tasted fishy (good shrimp shouldn't smell fishy). My sons burger was overdone. My wife's wrap wasn't good. I usually like Jack Astor's but maybe the cook was bad today. I'll stick to the basics if I go back.

I’ve always loved Jack Astor’s food, but the delivery service is awful. I usually order through Door Dash, but since the service was down, I decided to order directly from the Jack Astor’s website. Big mistake. The order was late but I thought given the current circumstances, that’s to be expected and decided to give them some more time. Half an hour after my order was supposed to arrive, I decided to call to check in on the status. Only then was I informed that their third party delivery service (who I never had any contact with, since I ordered directly through the restaurant’s website) had failed to pick up the order even though it had been ready for quite some time. Only no one thought to call and inform me, even though they had my phone number and email address through the web order. If I hadn’t called to check in, I would never had known. Ok top of that, the employee I spoke to blamed their delivery service and said I was angry with them for something that was a third party’s fault. That’s all well and good, but I only ever dealt with Jack Astor’s. I didn’t order through a third party service. A truly disappointing customer service experience. I won’t be ordering there again. Which is too bad, since the food really is great.

Very good food, large selection of dishes and drinks. The service was excellent! They have a very humurous selection of posters and cartoons on the walls.

Jack Astor's is such a hit or miss and this time it was a missed. Usually the wings are the best thing there but this time they lacked sauce and taste like over frying. The rest of the food was meh. All of this in a ok atmosphere and not the cheapest bill.

We had an excellent and wonderful table service. The manger checked on is to be sure everything was ok. The burgers with fried onions were super tasty. Awesome cook! Well-done! We'll be back soon! :)

Went there for lunch with a group of friends. Had their caesar salad (full size). It was horrible! Where do I start. Bowl was too small or the salad. Lettuce was iceberg not the usual romaine. The dressing was Kraft or Renees brand...not impressed. No croutons, parmesan cheese was shaved not the usual grated within the dressing. Anchovies thrown in whole. I was too embarassed to advise the manager that their salad sucked. And the price of $14 is definitely a ripoff for the quality. They would most likely deduct the plate from the server who was the only positive part of the lunch. Will not be going back there!

the service was very nice. different servers came by and we ordered from each one and we got our order right and on time, none of them said I'll let your server know. it was like we had 3 servers and all knew what's happening. the food was good. i found the price a bit high. but well recommended and was satisfied.

Honestly I normally love Jack Astor's but was completely blindsided when I added tofu and it cost me an extra 5$. WHY??? A block of tofu is not that expensive. Why is adding tofu more expensive then adding shrimp? And if its 5$ why wasn't I warned? Its ridiculous. Honestly it left a really bad taste in my mouth

I ordered dinner for delivery here last night. My pad thai bowl was nothing but noodles with 0 flavour. I've had it before at the restaurant and this was a huge disappointment. There was many 3 tiny pieces of bland chicken, which is ridiculous for the 4$ they charge.

I have been there only once and had burger with augus beef and IPA. the ambiance is cool and the staffs are very cordial.

The staff is friendly and the service is excellent. The food is always good here and on some nights, they’ll have certain drinks at a lower price (ask your waiter/waitress). Free parking and a nice terrace in the summer time, great ambiance and the prices are reasonable.
