Some improvement completed - much more needed. Fish was not fishy as previous visits, so that’s a plus. However, one dish we ordered was served on a cracked, and possibly burnt plastic dish this made me feel as though there is a lack of care in the food preparation. Please just get rid of damaged tableware. I would have ordered something Korean as this place says it has Korean dishes, but there was only one choice. Very Meh.

Service isn't great, avoid anything deep fried and the website isn't accurate for menu items or prices. The only reason it isn't 1 star is when I told them how bad the tempura was (soft, greasy and half onions) the manager DID call back.. 3 days later with a $10 gift card on a $50+ botched order... savr your money go to S****a instead.

this place has the worst service, the cashier had attitude problems and tried to argue with me because she made a mistake on my order...even tho I was extremely calm and polite about it. They didn't include chopsticks in my order. I was visiting in Cranbrook and I'll never go back to that place again.

How are we blessed with so many amazing sushi places in the area!!?? The Takoyaki is amazing here, just order one, you will like it! The Bento boxs are a quick and delicious option with a little bit of everything. I had the beer variety today. Service is always quick and friendly. They also have a delivery option as well. The flowers and decorations are done extremely well, and are always a delight to ponder upon when we come in.

Really could not get my order threw without asking "what" every second sentence Person taking the order needs to speak up Foods was better than any other place in town BUT cheaped out on the veggie roll and avacado roll. To much rice, for $6 I should almost get a full avacado not a few bites

We have ate there 5x and it was awesome ... had a few of the boxes and sushi, and loved the chicken yakisoba. Had the chicken yakisoba at Edo's and ya just can't compare . Sushi on the strip is far superior , with a great price. Edos tasted like fast food . Highly recommend Sushi on the strip !

I normally don't write reviews about food but I was thoroughly disappointed in Sushi Wood when I ordered takeout last night. The Miso soup was disgusting and had no flavour and our roles were not that appetising. My spicy salmon roll tasted a bit off and i couldn't finish the roll. I'm a bit disappointed because this was a good option for us for sushi but now I will have to look elsewhere.

We found the interior very dark and not very warm. The place also looked kinda of grungy. There bento box is good but the chicken and tempura were cold. We're from the area and would like to see them succeed but will have to make some improvements.

Fresh ingredients- really the critical element for any sushi restaurant- and very fair portions are the biggest highlights. The texture and flavour of the staples (sashimi, nigiri sushi, maki, miso, etc.) is spot-on; the rolls have solid ‘filling:rice ratio. My only comment, completely personal preference, would be leaving the sauce off of some rolls (eg. Rainbow and Dynamite), that taste great on their own without extra stuff. Overall a positive experience, we will be back.

Surprisingly good sushi for a place in Cranbrook along the highway, like really good sushi. Arguably better than a place that came highly recommended in Vancouver. Pricing is on the low end for most sushi places too, representative of the location. But seriously, the sushi here is top notch. Hands down the worst service I have ever received. It took 20 minutes to take our order and there was 2 other tables in the restaurant, parts of the order were forgotten about, the waitstaff could use some training or maybe a nap... I don't know what was wrong but she was awful at her job. Regardless, if you can get over that the sushi is really good.

We got up and left. This place is not worth going to and I highly recommend Sakura. We ordered a Udon and two sushi rolls, 35 minutes later, a women who came in 10 minutes after us was served her food and we were ignored. After 10 more minutes of waiting we got up and left. Awful service.

Always awful. Poor service. Overpriced food that barely makes it out unless you hassle the waitress. Went in at 1:30, ordered a bento box. Recieved my miso within 20 minutes, and then 15 minutes later when I asked where the rest of my food was, was told that they closed at 2:30!!! I asked why they let me order a bento box that I'd never be receiving, the waitress just apologized and handed me my bill. After attempting to eat at this restaurant time and time again, I'll never be going back.

Total Sushi Surprise. I have been here four times now and loved it each time. This is one of the cutest little sushi places around. I believe it's run by a Korean couple which are the nicest folks. You will absolutely love the Chefs masterly craft of making specialty rolls. Do not be put off by the horrible pictures in the menu, the sushi is wonderfully made and tastes awesome. In my opinion this is one of the best places between here and the west coast and the price? Better than anywhere period for what you get.

Hello Sir/mam, I want to inform you about service’s rude behaviour at your restaurant on aug 21 around 12:08pm. She was extremely rude. We have been here before many times never had face that type of behaviour. Sometimes we have been here from Invermere to place an order or dinning. We both are working at a restaurant since 2016 and 2019 as a manager and supervisor. We ordered our order to her but forgot to add spice level so I went there to add some spices and do take out order as well at the front desk. She came at our table and said that, never been to a restaurant before? What you want?? Like what is the sense of customer service? We just went out immediately. They should have to learn some sense that how to speak with customers?? and never ever come again. Look forward to hearing from you. ( I emailed to owner as well and till the date I didn’t get any reply from them side ) Loved the food but won’t go back because of the rude manners of that grumpy lady.

Apparently under new owners as of late. Order was taken incorrectly and then it all just didn’t taste good. Rice was almost slimy, and the Rambo roll looked more like what was left of someone when Rambo was done with them than something you wanted to eat. Most definitely not going to order from here again. It is unfortunate because the Fernie sushi wood has always been excellent!

Ordered calamari... got something that looked and tasted like deep fried chicken, and was served with a honey mustard sauce. When we asked she insisted it was squid. We didn't eat it yet still paid for it. All of our food was brought out at different times and she didnt check on us after the food was out. However the sushi rolls were good.

Ordered the teriyaki chicken bento box. It was lots of food and very good. My friend had the teriyaki beef box. He liked most but thought the beef tasted off so did not eat it. Told this to the waitress when we were done. She apologized and said she would tell the cook. Then they removed the cost of his whole meal from bill. Anything can go wrong at times but a good business is the one that will take care of it. Will eat here again.

Sushiwood in Cranbrook needs a better delivery service as the sashimi on my Alaska roll was almost room temperature. I think the deep frier needs to be cleaned since everything fried had an unpleasant aftertaste. Orders need to be taken better as I ordered a black dragon roll and received a green dragon roll, so I didn't get the masago that I wanted, even though I was STILL charged for the black dragon roll that I ordered but didn't receive. Also no rice came with the teriyaki as it was advertised so that was also incredibly disappointing. I've had good food from your restaurant before, I don't understand what went so wrong today. I feel like it was honestly a waste of money as next to nothing was edible.

Its really good sushi and the prices are reasonable. Excellent selection of delicious Korean and Japanese dishes and appetizers, too. Staff is attentive and friendly. Decor is cute. There are both regular restaurant tables available as well as walled booths. I've had fairly large to-go orders from SushiWood that were just as excellent as eating in. A great choice overall.

Walked out on this place. Waitress was one of the rudest servers I've ever had. We were still ordering and she walked away before we were finished. When I went to complain and finished ordering, the waitress just said "Bye!" and walked away. So we just left. Worst service I've ever had.

Ok service from the manager Cris is not much help. I needed some info on possibly doing a big order in the future for staff meeting at my job but did not hear back from her. :( she just seemed like she did not care at all. I ended up talking to another staff member about it and it was all sorted out with in an hour. the other staff seemed really nice to. great portions of the food too. its a huge menu full of sushi and Korean BBQ we needed this is Cranbrook. its so tasty and pretty! the place is also just stunning <3
