Good chicken jerk, very tasty. Rice to chicken ratio and salad amount needs re-balancing. Wasn't expecting that much rice! Had leftover rice after eating chicken and salad (not a lot of salad). Service needs improvement. You can get more sales and repeat clients if you show more care and enthusiasm. Its like the owner was annoyed I was asking questions (first time customer).

Although the food was pretty good the few times I had it, unfortunately I will not be eating here again, nor recommending it. I value customer service and respect over anything, and I had one of the worst experiences here. Staff (family-owned) was unnecessarily rude, and had no interest in accommodating for very minor circumstances. I will not be going into details, but let’s just say my food was ready and I had no interest in taking it by the end of my visit!

I’ve eaten from here several times and have loved it, and have recommended Tropical Paradise to many people, but I am incredibly disappointed with how my experience was today. I ordered the ‘Original Doubles trio (vegan)’ from Uber Eats and I noticed halfway into one of the doubles that there was a chunk of meat. *I have been vegan for a long time and haven’t eaten meat in over a decade.* I called the restaurant to let them know and the woman who I spoke to on the phone was rude to me and cut me off saying “no, I saw him make it” when I explained to her that there was a piece of meat in it. I’m not stupid nor am I blind. I spread it apart with a fork and you can see the tendons.

Been grabbing the doubles here for decades. Sadly have to go through the apps during these times but wow do they really come through on that end. Ordering food to the restaurant you are working in always a trip, but there’s nowhere else near the centre of the city to grab these delectable dainties.

The food was super tasty, especially the doubles. We tried the goat and the shrimp doubles - did not disappoint! The only reason I'm not giving this place 5 stars is because the presentation isn't stellar. The plantains for example looked a little dry (they didn't taste like it though!). So if you're looking for a place with no frills and excellent food, this is the place for you! It feels very authentic, the wait isn't long, and there's awesome dancehall and soca music playing at a reasonable volume in the background.

This is the kind of place that once you discover it, you will become a regular. The food is so good and so unique that I crave it, and even if I don't live in the neighbourhood, I always look for opportunities to eat there. The roti bread is so soft. The curries are so full of flavour. And the family that run it are decent hard-working people who take pride in their cuisine. I wish only that they had proper cutlery, and not plastic forks and knives that end up in the bin. If you like Caribbean food, this place is the best in town.

I walked up in this place thinking of jerk chicken. Took a good look at the menu and was amazed at the diversity of delicious meals they have to offer. The food is amazing, cooked on point, chicken is nice and tender, not dry, not squishy just perfect. The staff is welcoming, all smiles and laid back. Prices are very affordable and I got my food in 10 minutes which is pretty damn decent in my opinion. Will go again and enjoy something different but not tonight, the sizes of the servings is just right and almost couldn't finish my plate! 5 stars all the way!

Edited review from a 4 to 2 star rating - I would have to agree with other reviewers with the fact that the quality and taste has gone down and the price went up. The curry inside the rotis are okay, nothing special and I believe it can use more seasonings, it’s bland and definitely not enough salt. I also find that it’s expensive too, $3 for doubles? That’s way too much and you have to pay for the pepper sauce? Cmon! I’ve ordered from here numerous times so this is not a one time occurrence. It’s really not worth it in my opinion. One last thing, the channa in the doubles were hard and so was the goat they needed to cook it down some more.

I ordered a Goat Roti with rice via UberEats, everything arrived well and still hot. The goat was perfectly cooked, very tender and tasty. The curry itself was perfectly spiced (as in seasoned), though not spicy (as in hot) at all...but that is fine for me, as I prefer not too spicy food. I would definitely try other rotis and other dishes they make in the future.

did i catch them on a bad day? the reviews seem to be great but here is my story : i got there and orderd the jerk chicken plate... he tried to charge me 50 cents on a 13$ debit transaction....and then i get home to eat...its not even authentic caribean food, first of all they looked pakistan and my jerk chicken was boneless it was a sliced chicken breast...yet every real caribean place makes jerk chicken out of tights or drumsticks....and this one tasted a bit kind of junk food ish and greasy....and my rice was yellow...ya right caribean rice is white and with peas in it....just a weird place....iv been to so many better hol in the wall caribean places...wont be going back.

Delicious Caribbean food with a few veggie options. Great curries and the doubles are to die for. Lots of the usual Caribbean sodas as well. Location is a bit sparse but fine for a quick bite (we usually do takeout). Owner is extremely friendly and chill.

Really tasty Caribbean food in the Décarie/Snowdon area of Montreal! Their jerk chicken is spicy and flavourful. Also, for the amount of money you pay and the amount of food you get it’s pretty worth it, especially the plate meals. I wouldn’t recommend getting the coke and brownie combo though as it’s a bit overpriced (the brownie is tiny and the coke is just a can.) I’d recommend getting the plantains for a side!

Tropical paradise is an absolute hidden gem of a restaurant! Incredible food, indredbile service, all for a very affordable price. What's even better is that the meats are HALAL! To all my Muslims, be sure to stop by here if ever you're nearby, it's a nice change of pace from eating at the usual middle eastern or Indian halal spots. Try out their oxtail, it's to die for. The meat is so tender and well seasoned. The hot sauce is also a must! (if you can tolerate heat that is). I'm really glad to have found this spot, and if you're reading this, do yourself a favor and check this place out!

I asked for two rotis and a drink but the father working made a mistake and gave me 2 rotis and 2 doubles....he then refused to take back the doubles that he punched in by accident, stating that i already paid even though he made a mistake. On top of that after noticing he forgot my drink he then charged me for the drink he forgot. It was just a terrible experience. What they were doing did not make sense. It was a serious rip off. Service is not pleasant. The food is also wayyyy too salty. This isnt the first time it has resulted like this. Don't recommend it and definitely will no longer return.

Had the oxtail and I can honestly say I dont know what oxtail tastes like because there was no meat. Im actually not exagerating. Literally just bones with a little fat and skin. Basically paid 20$ for rice and a drink. The guy choked with I confronted him about it.

Ordered off uber eats today. Got jerk chicken plate and curry chicken plate. Usually I go for large plates but I got the regulars. The portions were huge. Everything was DELICIOUS. The plantain is also amazing.

I placed my order from Tropical Paradise because I heard of the great reviews of the Jerk Chicken Plate. I ordered the Curry Shrimp Roti Trio to try it out. If I had one word to describe the curry shrimp it would be, "disappointing". The roti was very, very dry and had way too much flour and barely any taste. It was STUFFED with potatoes that were seasoned relatively ok but barely any shrimp. I think I found about 4 pieces of shrimp in the entire roti which was extremely underwhelming. The salad was a huge letdown; a few random cuts of lettuce and carrots topped with a distasteful French dressing. This dish is definitely not up to the standard of traditional West Indian cuisine.

Amazing food! From the BBQ Plate, to the Jerk Chicken, grab some Doubles and end it with a tasty Pattie. This is a must visit local joint for some authentic food. Uber Eats is available too. My only complaint is the BBQ plate sauce is a little too much on the over salted side. 5/5.

I ordered from these guys a few times. This one was particularly amazing. I ordered their chicken roti, had it delivered by uber eats. It was incredible; the flavour and texture of the curry was on point, the wrap was cooked perfectly, and not overdone like some of the other places ive tried. 15/10

I am generally a huge fan of doubles. Never been treated so poorly by a restaurant in my life! I forgot to ask for my doubles spicy. I asked the person to add spicy sauce and the person was not willing to make them spicy. When I left he said “Please do not come back”.

We ordered a BBQ chicken plate and a jerk chicken plate. It was honestly THE worst chicken we ever had...the "bbq" was actually boiled half-cooked chicken splattered in a red sauce and the jerk was just bland and tasteless. We were genuinely scared of getting food poisoning should we finish our plates. Waste of money and time ant it's a shame when you know how tasty Carribean food actually is. PSA: STAY AWAY

First time trying caribbean food.It was fresh and well cooked and flavorful. I didn't like the texture of the breads though, it felt wet. I think that might be normal in that type of cuisine, but in any case except that it was good!
