After 10 years, Fay Wong is still my go to Chinese restaurant in the Cote-St-Luc neighborhood. My favorite dishes here include the must have General Tao Chicken, Cantonese Chow Mein and Birds Nest. It's really hard these days to find a good Birds Nest because many Chinese restaurants are replacing the Nest with fried noodles vs the authentic taro Nest.

It has been a while since we last visited Fay Wong in Cote St Luc. The decor has changed and the quality of food has dropped. I found the prices high for what we got ($55 for 2 ) but the portions were large. It wasn't a bad meal , just average.

Fay Wong is THE Chinese restaurant that will make you want to come back for more food and excellent service! I understand that compared to it's previous menu, the prices have increased HOWEVER the portions are bigger than what they used to be. People tend to forget that with economic growth, there will be in increase in the production of goods and services so we need to accept the new reality of things. Big koodos to this family business and it's staff doing a great job during the pandemic!

Definitely a go to Chinese take out / Delivery , food is generous and importantly delicious, their shrimp won ton soup is a must get. Delivery is kind of slow but worth the extra wait. ???? 5 stars no less.

Had Singapore noodle for lunch came with a soup. Everything was a bit bland, I would have like to have a bit more veggies in my noodle than few slice of green pepper and onion. But I was served quickly and when I said I didn't like the sweet and sour soup they brought me the other option which was a wonton. Not a great restaurant, but as I was working close by, for the price of a 12 inch combo at subway, it filled me more as the noodle serving was generous.

This restaurant showed that it deserves more than 5 stars. We recently ordered some food from Fay Wong for delivery to our apt. #1XXX. This was to be delivered @ 5.30pm. When we had not received our order by 6pm I called & they realized a mistake had been made & it was delivered on time to a wrong apt # XXX ! Fay Wong realizing the error said they would replace the order quickly. We did receive our food in less than 1/2 hour. OUR FOOD WAS PLENTIFUL & DELICIOUS. THIS AN EXAMPLE OF A VERY WELL RUN HONEST PLACE TO PATRONIZE.

I would point out to those who have made negative comments on General Tao: this is not an Asian dish so it s like ordering moussaka in a pizzeria! Since the reopening of Fay Wong, I realized many things. First of all, the food got better for sure. It tastes fresh, flavourful and of course it's always hot. Second of all, yes the menu has changed and everything and yeah, the prices have risen a bit, but that's the new reality today. It's always a pleasure for us to eat good food and at the same time encourage a local business. And thirdly , shout out to the young entrepreneurs Valerie and Kevin who work really hard to offer us quality service and meals! You're doing great!! I am looking forward to eat my tempura shrimps with spicy mayo!!

Sorry to say but worst Chinese food I have ever had....was so tasteless and so overpriced....we ordered spring rolls, general tao chicken and sesame beef with a veggie dish, we couldn't even tell which was general tao chicken and which one was the sesame beef...totally disgusting....maybe the Cantonese style old school dishes are better, I'm not sure, but NO way we would EVER order from here again

Service took 50 minutes. Had to leave before being served due to kids. When we got home the food was ineatable. The General Tao was just over cooked dough with no meat inside. Sorry to say it was a horrible experience at this restaurant.

I have ordered at this restaurant a few times and I have to say it is delicious! The restaurant looks amazing with the renovations thats been done. The general tao is not to spicy, the pad sew was delicious and the wonton was not small!! I would definetly order again if i feel like eating chinese food!!

Where to start... We don't understand how come the rating is so high. We have tried many different hunan, spicy chicken, sesame beef, general tao. The sesame beef was not crispy at all and the sauce tasted like the sweet spare ribs. Not even close of anything a sesame beef is supposed to taste. The beef was tender though. General tao had the same base sauce as the sesame beef with some extra more things in it. By far, the worst sauce ever for a general tao. The chicken was tender, great choice of dark meat over white. The spicy popcorn chicken, the chicken was crispy, but way too salty and not spicy at all, not even a pepper or anything. It normally taste sechuan peppercorn, but this time not even a try to taste it. I had to add it myself. It was more like a salt and pepper chicken taste. The hunan were not exceptional, a bit too rich for our taste, but definitely not the worst we ever tried. They were okay, maybe for an other person they would be what they are looking for. Sorry I can't recommend that store. The meat quality seems fine, the recipes are not spot on.

I was pleasantly surprised with my meal from Fay Wong last week. I hadn't eaten from there in at least 15 years. I will switch some items for some others next time I order but the egg rolls, lo mein noodles and garlic shrimps were pretty good.

NEVER ORDER HERE! THIS PLACE IS A SCAM! I ordered two General Tao chicken and only got chicken! The orders cost 13.50$ each! FOR JUST CHICKEN! It's funny how the delivery guy ran away so quick because he knows that he dupped me! They even have a picture on their website of what General Tao is suppose to look like (rice and chicken). But I guess you have to pay extra for that at this place smh. NEVER AGAIN!

It was my first ordering from Fay Wong, I ordered Chicken Fried rice & Chicken wing, The chicken fried rice was ok, but the Chicken Wings they were not probably cook, and the Wings they weren’t clean and feathers was on them, I was so disappointed when I see that, I just waste my money for nothing, I will not be ordering from Fay Wong Again.

I lived very close by from Fay Wong for 2 years, my husband and I always ordered from them. I am not too sure why there has been some bad reviews about them. So far so good everything we have ordered there were tasty and good portion size. Especially their delicious General Tao (ok some people said they’re awful) which i dont think that’s the case, maybe there is some better out there, since everyone’s taste is different but dont forget general tao doesnt exist in China, yes it is an all american chinese food. What do you expect? Even if you go to different chinese restaurant you will always have other non-chinese staff making your meals and you will still say yummy chinese food :) and Yes i am asian. No my husband and I are not friends with the owner so no crooked thoughts! we just wanted to give them credit for their delicious food. If you had a bad experience, you probably had no luck. Unfortunately, we moved away a little further up but we still order from them. Our choice: Its them or chinatown. reason for 4 stars? because I never give 5 stars :)

Was closed for 6 months, just reopened for take out and delivery. My family and I often ordered or ate in for their reasonably priced good food, so I was excited to order again. We were very disappointed with the food. Menu changed meals went up for over $10! The chicken meals had NO chicken just vegetables, the food was pretty tasteless and not worth the money. Will not be going to Fay Wong’s again ...too bad they ruined a good thing .

I ordered from Fay Wong's for the first time for dinner and the food was delicious! The General Tao chicken was not too spicy and the vegetables and chicken fried rice were perfectly prepared. The won ton soup was good and not salty which I appreciate! As a last test I saved some leftovers for the next day and... they were just as good as when I ordered them! And finally, the food was delivered before the estimated time online. Will definitely order again!

So tonight I ordered at Restaurant Fay Wong in the Côte-Saint-Luc area. I started going there often, was even there just yesterday for 2 orders of soupe. The main reason that I ordered tonight was because of the cold weather outside. However, an hour later my food still hasn’t arrived so I decided to give them a call to see what’s up. The girl who answered the phone (rude, no such thing as customer experience) confirms that I did call an hour ago and advised me that it was leaving in 15 minutes because they just finished cooking it. I asked her, well it’s been over an hour already and I wasn’t advised of the order coming later than an hour she then responds by saying “yeah well it’s leaving in 15 minutes”. I then asked to speak to a manager just because I didn’t like how she was responding and because I was unhappy. The least they can do is advise clients that due to the weather it can take longer than usual, which I would have perfectly understand. Spoke to the manager Kevin Lee (or Li) that then tries to sell me to the idea “well at least your food will be hot” and a little while after was followed by “well do you want your food or not” as if he was as threatening me that I won’t get my food. He then tries to tell me there is a really bad storm outside.. aside from the really bad cold there is no storm, but whatever. I told him that wasn’t the point at all. I then asked, at this point, if I can at least get the 10% discount that they give over the counter for pick-up. He then says ok and the girl who initially answered the phone takes the phone to confirm the discount but to my surprise manager Mr. Kevin is laughing at the background with I’m sure were customers eating at the restaurant saying “yeah I’ll just give her a discount haha” as if he was mocking me. I honestly felt so disrespected and told the girl that I can hear her boss in the back laughing at me. She says “well okay do you want your food?” I was so mad and told her to cancel the order. Last time I went to eat there before work, I witnessed the same thing (which I decided to ignore when it happened). As I was eating and watching videos on my phone, one of the guys that was working there that day was taking orders on the phone but was speaking to a table of what seems like regular customers. A very picky customer called in to place a specific order that she wanted to get at a specific time and as soon as the worker hung up, he started mocking that client saying “we got crazy clients like that”. But who does that? The least you can do is not publicly insult and embarrass your customers and to keep your thoughts amongst yourselves. This is the worse customer experience I had ever had ordering from a restaurant. Never again. And this won’t go unnoticed. Very much disappointed. #WorseCustomerExperience

Terrible and SLOW service! I had called on the phone to come pick up my order, I waited over an hour by the time I had arrived at the restaurant. I kept asking the woman at the front if she could check up on my order because I had to get home before the curfew at 8PM, all she said was "its coming just a few more minutes". Yeah right a few more minutes. When I finally received my order the bag was stone cold, as if the food had been sitting there for a while. I asked the woman at the front why it was cold and she said she did not know why? I didnt have time to argue as the curfew was quickly approaching. When I got home the food was soggy and all cold. My family and I did not even feel like eating it as we were disgusted and we order a pizza instead. Last time I spend my money at Fay Wong!

I rarely do reviews but this was so bad I had to leave a review. I didn't pay attention to the menu. I just said we wanted something for the family that didn't have pork or seafood. The guy said it would be ready in ten minutes. And that was a red flag. $60 of food shouldn't be ready in ten minutes. There were almost no vegetables. Maybe a few small pieces at the bottom of the chow mein. That's on me for not looking. But everything was horrible. Heavy and greasy. The kind of food that fills you up for 5 minutes and then you're hungry again. The white rice was a hard inedible clump the next morning. We threw half of it out. Honestly, the worst chinese food I've ever had. And it's a shame because they used to be decent before the renovations.

I ordered in. The spring roll had so much oil that using a ton of paper napkins still didn't take it all out. The cashew chicken had a measly 5 mini bite size pieces of chicken. The sauteed eggplant reeked of oil and sauce. Not a good experience for sure.

I have been searching for a good chinese restaurant for a very long time, and I believe that God has blessed me with the discovery of Fay Wong. Their general tao is crispy, moist, saucy and spicy. It’s served in a generous portion. I must say that it has become a part of my weekly diet. The egg rolls are one of my favourite too as they are always served hot and crispy. I recommend dipping it in their house plum sauce as it combines together exceptionally well and forms a unique delicious taste. I will be coming back soon, very soon in fact...

Terrible !!! Guess new owner and/ or New chef . Came for lunch and Ordered dish that I have had in the past at this resto . This time , It was inedible as if a bottle of black pepper fell into dish . Waitress took my plate away to kitchen to show who???? And then brought same plate back to me after several minutes .i refused it as never eat food sent back to kitchen and gave me a fortune cookie ! Horrible service, food was disgusting and they took an eternity to prepare the food and when our issue was addressed by the manager she had a very condescending tone as she had no disregard nor respect for our time and patience even went on to give a fake poor excuse of an apology when we press the matter forward. The door to the kitchen is wide open and we saw a critter run by as the back kitchen looked disgustingly unsanitary. A lot of people from my neighbourhood was talking very badly about this place and I was curious if the rumours were true. I am sad to say that it is true! I’ve contacted the sanitary department in charge of regulating restaurants in Montreal since the state of the kitchen cleanliness made me question their existence and rights to remain operational. My family and I will never ever come back to this horrendous excuse of a “ restaurant “! Beware eat at your own despair!
