This McDonalds has a great play place that you can sit and dine in if you have little ones. My child had a great experience. It was raining the day I went. At the time I was there the entrance had no mat to prevent customers from slipping and a very slippery floor which was a bit concerning. I used the app to order food to my table so I wouldn't have to leave my child in the play place or stand in line. I found a table in the play place that worked for us and put in my order while my child played. Our order was taking a long time to come and then I spotted the McDonalds employee sent out to deliver our order wandering around and around in the main part of the restaurant with a tray, trying to find our table number but not thinking to check the play place tables. When I realized he had our order I went and got it from the poor confused kid. I would go again the next time I'm in the area for the play place but be careful and go slow if it's a rainy day and they haven't put a mat down at the door

I waited 5 minutes to order a large black coffee and finally gave up at which point I just walked out, not worth the wait. The coffee is good if you don't mind a wait for "fast food". I'd recommend downloading the app and preodering, even then you wait sometimes.

Went through drive thru around midnight April 13-14 and just needed a large cup of water to drink and they refused saying 'you need to order something first sir' ... My order is water?? They flat out refused unless I spent money and offered to pay for the cup which they didnt want, so I ordered a mcdouble and, a large cup of water, then he tells me that they can only give small cups out for water???? The new Create Your Taste service takes McDonalds to a new level. Sure it is still a fast food joint but the level of service it provides makes the indulgence of a burger and fries that much better. This location's team were friendly, chatty and quick to make, serve and clear away the food for me (it's sit down service! At McDonalds!). I was waited on by an attentive server who was engaging and interesting. My experience since the new program began has been stellar every time. If you like burgers then check it and build your own. It will be the best McDonald's experience you have. No fifth star because I still have to build each burger. Fun at first, I would prefer to have an app that saves my favorites and let's me simply scan it, pay and sit down. It is "fast" food after all.

More often then not the drive thru is a giant game of me first. The staff forget about the 2nd lane half the time. Orders are often incorrect. About 2/3rds of the time this happens not to mention burgers are thrown together from what looks like a 6' distance. No care whatsoever. And they're incredibly slow. I don't even bother to use the lobby. This is my 2nd negative experience at this location and 3rd in the Comox Valley. Waited 16 minutes for big Mac and small fries at lunch. Counted 16 bodies in back, mostly spinning in circles. Burger was cold. Staff plain confused when I complained about wait. Is drive thru a priority? Service bad food bad, prices up. Go to A&W for better food, better service, at same price. Should have known better, but it was closer. New service model with single till, two robot tills and cold food you wait for sucks. Lost my business I am fed up, but not fed well.

Ordered coffee, a guest behind me ordered meal and coffee. Other guest served first. When I questioned why I had to wait that server was very rude, a manager moved him out of the way and I was basically ignored. I have had a number of issues with this store over the last couple of years and let it go. Not this time. When I come in to the store and pay for my items I expect to be served promptly and served in order not made to stand and wait. Please train your staff to treat all customers with courtesy.

By far the worst experience I've ever had at a McDonald's restaurant. I waited over 10 minutes after ordering my meal (with nobody ahead of me) only to receive a poorly made CBO with warmish fries. Then to my amazement, the soda machine dispensed piss-warm soda, which sprayed all over my hand. And then to finish it all off, the leather seats were torn up and greasy, I had to put napkins down to sit on it.

Was a mess. Took the kids there. To plan to play area have a little bite to eat. There was legit not one table that was not filthy for us to sit at. I had to go up to the front and ask for someone to clean. Waited about 10 or 15 minutes no one showed up so I went out front asked for a cloth and wipe the table off myself for family to sit at.

Every time I'm stuck going to the Courtenay McDonald's I know it's going to be a pain in the ass. Charlotte was my customer service representative today and I personally don't think she should be working with the public. Store was damn near empty and she was rude, impatient and walked away from me because ordering a bacon and cheese mcmuffin was clearly too much for her to take. Snarky attitude and pulling faces even though I was smiling and friendly. She made a sexually inappropriate comment to her male coworker who was working under the counter that made me cringe. Absolutely appalling behaviour for someone of her age(late 50s?)Her shift leader was excellent but my visit was already tainted by that point. Went inside because the drive thru is always a disaster, consistently leaving things out of the bag or putting in the wrong stuff. I won't be going back to that place again.

Well what the hell... i was just at the McDonald's in courtney on cliff ave and trying to get some food. I drive super b fuel tankers and do not fit in the drive through, i was at the speaker for five min and no answer but would answer the cars. I knocked on the door and the manager told me he couldn't help me as i was not in a car. A wonderful couple told me to hop in the back of their truck and make an order ????. Well when we get to the window it was a fight to get the food because the manager saw me and still didn't wont to serve me. I finally got some food thanks to the lovely family sorry i can't remember there names but a huge thank you for helping me finish my night.

This is a black stain on the McDonald's chain. My family and I walked into a nearly vacant building and noted that many of the tables were dirty. Once food was ordered and received I found the middle of my Quarter Pounder was actually cooler than room temperature. While eating in the kids area, we watched as a female employee who had presumably finished her shift walked out the door and flipped two middle fingers at the dudes in the car that were there to pick her up. Once finished, we tried to be good patrons and dispose of our garbage in the proper receptacle, only to find that they were all full with garbage stacked on the counters around them. I managed to locate a single trash bin that was not so over full that I could place our garbage inside. During our time there we saw a total of seven other people; one group of three and one of four. I would like to blame staff, but a restaurant doesn't get this way without weak management. McDonald's is likely loosing business due to the condition of this location.

So me and my buddy drove across town to get some McDonald's. After we were done waitting 15 minutes for two cbo's. They looked completely destroyed, it was grotesque. Updated: someone from the corporate office really needs to come check this place out. Dirty as heck tonight (3 Jan 19)...not a single person cleaning the restaurant. First time to McDonalds in 10+ years, now I remember why. Went through the drivethru which was slow and confusing, the menu boards had little info (how am I supposed to know if I want to make it a meal if it doesn't state anywhere what a meal is?) and the other side of cars we're going through the double lane at double the speed (is there a fast lane I was unaware of?). They quickly passed out my bag and drink and did not repeat the order to me which made me feel I had to quickly get out of the way. When I got home I discovered the whole Happy Meal I ordered was missing and had to make my daughter a separate dinner. Why did I bother going in the first place? When I phoned to let them know of the poor service it took 15 minutes before they even answered. The girl who did answer was polite and invited me back for the Happy Meal but living as far as I do it was not with it. Here's to another 10+ years of no McDonalds.

Just experienced the WORST customer service ever. Promotion posted on Drive-Thru menu board - buy one McFlurry, second one free. When I tried to pay for my order, I was charged full price. Cashier called for someone to comp the free McFlurry but the person that came to her aid, told me the promo was over. I suggested he take down the misleading sign and asked, again, if he would honour the posted sale. His reply "that sale is over". I cancelled my whole order and left . Like I said, WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I will NEVER return to that location. I will take my business where it is appreciated.

The service at the McDonald’s on Ryan Road is not up to par. It’s slow, not prepared for rush hour. On Friday a friend and I went. I ordered first and he ordered after. There were a couple of people ahead of me and three or four behind me. All behind me were served including my friend. 16 minutes later I’m still waiting. This MacDonalds is either understaffed or not organized for servicing the public. My friend finished his dinner and I’m still waiting. I finally went up and asked for my drink. I did say I’d been waiting 16 minutes. ( according to my receipt). Another 5 minutes went by and I asked for a refund. Which I was given and I left. I thought I’d try drive-through tonight and again there was a wait for food. What is going on with this MacDonald’s. Either hire more people for the rush hours or teach the staff to be more on the ball. And before you question me...I used to work at Courtenay and Walmart MacDonald’s a number of years ago. And it’s about timing and organization and making sure the teenagers can work and talk at the same time. This includes managers too
