The service here was awesome, I have absolutely nothing to complain about there. I just did not like the food, I ordered shahi paneer and it tasted slightly burned and the paneer was hard. The samosas were very greasy with very little flavour. Maybe I am just used to something different as I am new to town and used to get all my Indian food in Abbotsford, either way I had a pregnancy craving that is still unsatisfied.. Again I just want to say the service was very good, what I did not like was the food and it could be because I am from a different area.

CHUCKS OF CLAY IN THE NANN. When I got home my toddler started eating the nann then I had a bite and it felt like I was eating sand and chunks of rock. I found chunks of clay on the bottom of my nann. I had to load my daughter back up in the car and take the food back. When I got there I didn't even get a "I'm sorry" or anything. (I did get a full refund however) But basically they said it was because they have a new oven and to me it seemed like it was a very common occurrence and not a big deal to them. NOT HAPPY AT ALL!!!

Wasn't a great experience. Ordered samosa from them, no taste at all i mean no salt means NO SALT, can see a clear white mashed potato. Talked to receptionist and she said it is like because white community don't like salt so that's why we make like that. Unsatisfactory answer. Please don't order samosa atleast, wasted my money.

Came across this place for lunch after 3 other restaurants were closed. Worth every moment. The service was very welcoming and friendly, slow at first but picked up quickly. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Curry plus rice and naan came to about 19 dollars, sounds like a lot but the portion size was equivalent to 2 hearty meal. Would go again.

Not halal as employees cannot source the halal meat and they serve alcohol. If you're looking for actual halal...found one place called chilliwack kebab which is sourced halal. Wouldn't recommend this place for halal meat employees are told to tell people it's halal but don't know where their meat is from...

First time and not disappointed! Decided to try for lunch today as we were in the area. Parking was easy and place was not too busy. We were greeted warmly with a smile and not long after being seated were brought menus and nice cold water to contrast the hot weather outside. Premises appeared bright and clean, tables and cutlery clean as well. We ordered the non-veg combo and the Indian fish and chips. Our meals arrived quickly, well-plated and smelled fresh. Each item in the "Thali" - combo with Coconut chicken curry, Saag paneer and Dhal were very flavorful and well balanced. Served with a nice rice portion and salad. The fish and chips (cod) were unexpectedly crispy and delicious - nice light batter with spices and a rich butter sauce for dipping. Service was good all throughout, we are definitely planning to go back again :)

We go here every week.. the buffet keep getting better as they grow and they added a hot dish as well. Fresh naan is amazing. Samosa is very delicious and the mint chutney has a nice bite. Great to have an Indian restaurant in the Sardis area.

Asked owner for 2 tea, one samosa platter, one pakora platter. This guy straightly said you have to order main course otherwise I can’t serve. When we told him that it’s not mentioned anywhere in your menu plus we can order food as per our choice but being unprofessional, arrogant & rude this guy said if you don’t order main course I won’t serve. He said table setting ( Napkins & cutlery) takes cost when they serve food on table so if we are only ordering Tea & Snacks he won’t serve. I am sure he told us this because we were Indian. My first time experience in this restaurant & I was SHOCKED. He was bragging about his experience about Restaurants where he worked. Really man !! Where did you learned pathetic customer service, firstly you have learn how to greet & talk to being a restaurant owner. After this whole drama, We asked him to make our food order to go but later surprisingly food came on table by another server. Wow man, how can you take any decision on behalf of consumer without his agreement. I was literally pissed off because he was taking every decision as per his convince. Later we order main course & food was good in taste . Bill came on table before we could order desserts. Asked lady server for desserts, again GULAB JAMUN was good in taste. Final bill came by manual calculation of desserts. Tax & amount of dessert handwritten over the previous bill. To my surprise this server who was acting arrogant was the Owner of Restaurant. Dear friend hopefully you see this message & can put word “PROFESSIONALISM” in your service. You are not suppose to argue with guest who came to give you business when you had no guest in your restaurant. If you have any minimum order policy put this in your menu & inform this to customer politely. Being a businessman & coming from rich culture of India, you have put Indian culture “ATITHI DEVO BHAVA” means “CUSTOMER IS EQUAL TO GOD FOR BUSINESS” in your restaurant. All the best man.

Decorating store don't get all the credit food was burned ordered a sizzler half if it was burned. Got stone right out of the chicken. Excuse is New clay oven. Nan bread was doughy and chewy. Chicken soup was lentil soup with chicken pieces in it. Too bad owner has an attitude when told. Left all on the table paid and left.

Delicious food served by friendly and attentive servers. Our favourites would be the veggie korma, lamb tikka masala and butter chicken. Their samosas are also delicious ???????? Though most of our recent orders have been through Skip the Dishes (for convenience), we will dine in more often now that they have their buffet (pictured).

Just tried this place for the first time with my family. Staff was very friendly and the place is bright and festive, with enough natural light. I tried a paneer dish and my wife tried the korma. My choice was fantastic and though a little sweeter than we are used to, the veggie korma was also very tasty. Will definitely be back again.

Decor gets full points. But food did not impress. Some naan were undercooked, some were burnt. "Pasta Butter" was mushy pasta in butter chicken gravy. The dal must have burned while cooking, because had a burnt aroma and taste. Maybe I just had a bad experience this once. But all in all, just ordinary food.

Excellent service. Pleasantly surprised at the size of the restaurant and the decor. We had a delicious meal, and found the pricing reasonable. Fish Tikka, Butter chicken, Garlic Naan, pappadam, and vegetable Samosas, and a Chai tea. All this for under $50.00 including 15% tip.

I will be recommending Royal Zayka to everyone. I had lunch and it was great! It was my first time eating there and I really enjoyed the experience. My wife myself and 2 friends ate here last night great food good portions and friendly staff. When you ask for hot lamb curry it’s hot enough I felt it in my ears and I broke out in a sweat. Rice was excellent and prices fare. We will return all 4 of us I am sure.

It's not overly spicy and they can tailor the spice level to your taste. The evening buffet has great selections of fish, chicken and beef delicacies and both delicious and affordable. A fairly new spot in Chilliwack, tucked away in a tough to see spot but close enough that I've had eyes on it since it was being built. I finally managed to get out and try it for lunch and I was little disappointed. The good first: Food is presented well, establishment is very colorful and clean and the people are very friendly. Naan was very good. The middling: Palak Paneer - one of my favorite dishes, one that I've tried from countless places. It was OK, darker than I've ever seen but the taste was good albeit a touch oily. The rice was also quite well dressed with butter or ghee which I do not care for personally. The bad - the portion/price was a little out of touch. The curry wasn't exactly a delicate masterpiece so I would prefer to be charged a price more in line with what I've come to expect from most Indian restaurants. I may go back and try another dish but I will be keeping an eye on my bottom line.

This must be one of the best Indian Restaurants in Fraser Valley. The space is beautifully decorated, the staff is friendly and accommodating. The food is tasty and well presented. This new restaurant is a hidden gem. If you know of the "other" restaurant in Chilliwack offering good quality East Indian food, you'll be surprised that there's a restaurant with even better tasting food, and more creative dishes for the whole family. They've recently reduced their menu prices, and we've even found coupons in Entertainment and newspapers to entice us to return more often. All of their meat is top quality - nothing but the best. If you order chicken, you get real all white chicken breast - tasted fresh (not frozen). We really enjoy their Chef Platters (see photo) that Includes a large variety of favorite dishes and sides. We used to only eat at the "other" place, but since learning about Royal Zayka, we probably won't return to any other restaurants in Chilliwack offering Indian cuisine. If you like spicy, delicious food, ask for their "two face" hot sauce - its not in their menu, and it's not just siracha or red pepper sauce. It's homemade and we enjoy it so much, I always order some to take home.

We’ve only ordered takeout, so cannot comment on the dining experience. The food is second to none; we had a wide variety of dishes, all excellent. Further, takeout is usually smaller portions than dine in, and while I can’t compare their in-house portions, I can say the portions were very generous in size.

I have never had coconut curry with dried shredded coconut in it before, it was interesting and tasty but a bit on the sweeter side for my tastes. Updated 2018-08-09 Dined in for an early dinner before hanging out with Jason Statham & his big friend, Meg ???? Beautiful, flavourful dishes, this time trying the Tandoori chicken that arrives at the table piping hot on a cast iron plate, plus a custom coconut vegetarian curry dish, along with our usual butter chicken. Definitely a great place for delicious Indian, with attentive service and really good pricing. // Clean & culturally attractive decor. Friendly service by our waiter Vik & because I was curious, he informed me of the differences between North Indian (what they specialize in) vs South Indian cuisine (much spicier). While dining on our appetizers, we noticed the consistent orders & pickups via SkipTheDishes, giving us the idea of takeouts in the future. Informed by Vik that Pakora is traditionally prepared in a larger ball, then sliced before frying, and is not typically served in small ball-sized pieces. The Samosa is prepared with corn flour so it’s friendly to customers with gluten-free allergies (though I can’t speak to any strict adherence to cross-contamination in the kitchen). Impressed that Vik came by to ask if we were ready for our entrees, didn’t expect that level of service. He came around with warmed up plates. Our butter chicken, rice and chick pea flour naan bread were flavourful. Though if you don’t have to eat gluten-free, I’m confident the recommended cheese naan or other naan breads would be yummier than the one we had ???? Truly enjoyed our first dining experience at Royal Zayka, and will dine in again soon or even try takeout next.

"Authenticity brought ever upward." As a loyal fan of the local Shandar Hut, I was reluctant at first to try another Indian restaurant. My, oh my, was I foolish. Royal Zayka is an Indian restaurant with very friendly and helpful staff. Whether you are a seasoned or beginner in Indian food they will help you figure out what is best for you and you can always ask for more spice ( was indeed a mistake I think I can be called a Dragon now ). Food is absolutely wonderful, from the most simple raïta to the more complex vindaloo flavours, everything is delicious and not only that but fairly cheap as well. Service is fast and easy to get, the servers are always looking around to make sure everything is perfect and that everyone is taken care of. It very much feels like we are at someone's house and we were invited for dinner. Clean, respec, pride and quality is pretty much what I think of when I'm at Royal Zayka. Great for lunch and do me a favour, try the chaï it is ridiculously good.

If you need to have a mehandhi..on your hand just on your marriage....dont spent money to a designer...have a chicken vindaloo from Royal zaika.....you can get enough red food color on your hand staying atleast for 3 days.....My hands are still red....all food are full of loads and loads of color.....taste is just ok nowhere close to Royal Zaika at Abbotsford....

Authentic Indian! Not white washed! Butter Chicken tasted amazing - weve been to many many Indian restaurants. Server was super kind as well. Also, they dont buy their spices from the groceries. Rather, they roast their ingredients and make their own spices.

Delicious food! We shared the mixed platter, and I had the chicken korma with rice and garlic naan - probably ordered too much food but it was all sooo good and beautifully presented. The service was amazing, both servers were very friendly and attentive. Also I have to say I love the color of the walls, the decor, and even the booth upholstery! I just buy both veg and non veg samosa from zayka chilliwack , i often order from zayka but from past i month the quality and quantity = cheap , not match with your prices, size of samosa is more smaller than a piece of garlic knot .... very poor

This was a pickup order thru skip the dishes, We thought the food was pretty good overall. The coconut rice was a little too sweet as it seemed to diminish some of the other flavours. We will try it again but a little disappointed that we were told the order would take 45 minutes but it was sitting on the counter ready to go when my husband arrived 20 minutes early??

My experience with them was for a take out order. I placed an order online and recieved confirmation that my order was placed. When I arrived to pick up my order, I provided my name was told my order would be ready soon. A worker then came back several minutes later stating that they did not receive my order but they would place the order in now and rush to have it ready in 10 minutes due to the mistake. They apologized and said they didn't realize that their online system was down. I told the lady my order and she said she would memorize it. I made a joke that I was shocked she could remember the order without writing it down, as it was a large order. She assured me that she would remember. I waited 35 minutes for my order. When it was ready, I noticed it was incorrect and missing an item. I had to wait another 10 minutes for my order to be completed. When we tasted the food, it was not bad, mediocre at best. There are much better Indian restaurants in chilliwack that also provide better customer service. I understand mistakes can be made, but the service was not good at all. Based on my experience I would no go back and would not recommend.

Used to come here before covid a lot! Loved it. Ordered takeout today, very disappointed. Tamarind sauce is now a clear orange tasteless liquid and the flavor of all the dishes is not as good as it was. May try one more time to see if it was just an off day but please use a better tamarind dipping sauce.

First time tried here, was excited but the food didn't meet the expectation no salted in salty lassi, sugar in curd, tandoori roti feels like papad, palak paneer was not good at all although they did not charged for palak paneer but still what we paid was worthless.we asked for butter on side n it was "not allowed to serve" they said.we Not recommend it. For good food you can visit Pabla Curry or anywhere else.

If I could give this place less than one star I would. This place does not use fresh ingredients. There was a bad smell coming from my chicken and when I asked for the owner to take it back he refused and argued with me about it. The waitress was very nice and apologized for the owner and told me not to eat the food. I left the place feeling sick from the food and experience. I suggest to never go here, there is much better Indian at Shandhar downtown Chilliwack. ‘This place is garbage!
