Absolutely wonderful place to dine. I just love the food and the staff are top notch. I will gladly return here and often. Service was incredibly fast and our server was very friendly and knowledgeable of menu items. The drinks were perfectly chilled and the food was on point. The whole place seems very well maintained and clean. Also the patio is very comfortable.

Definitely a busy place and after going there for lunch with my father I can see why! We both ordered the steak sandwich, medium rare with a Caesar salad. Both our steaks came out sizzling in a nice coating of garlic butter, on top of a well seasoned, thiicc slice of cheesy garlic bread that was capable of absorbing all the delicious juices from the steak. There were three onion rings on top. I normally don't like to eat onion rings but these were good onion rings. They weren't soggy and had a nice crisp to them. The Caesar salad was creamy and had that garlic kick that I'm always looking for, yum! My overall experience was excellent, the prices are amazing, the beer was cold and the staff was friendly. I will gladly go back and I recommend you give them a try as well. Thanks for the great meal!

Great decor (we sat near a 2 foot Elwood from Blues Brothers) and the atmosphere gives off a very 'home town' vibe. If I didn't know better, I'd think our waitress knew the name of everybody who walked in except us, because that would be weird. Steak was good, if not for a little under seasoned bit well worth the $20. The fries were fantastic, and if anything showed up the steak.

Great breakfast, we had the French Toast (huge portion!) and the MexiSkillet. It feels like every pub that's been around longer than a minute, and in the best ways. Friendly service, good food and lots of TVs for the sports minded. Would definitely recommend.

It was alright. Ordered two pitchers of pale ale. The waitress brought us IPA. Nasty, in my opinion. So she took one back, but not the glasses of beer that we poured. Then she proceeded to tell me that I ordered a pale IPA. And brought it up a few more times through the evening. Other than that it was nice.

Great Pub with a pool table and interesting layout. You can sit in livelier or more intimate settings. Major fights and games are always hosted if you are looking for a space to watch with friends. Outdoor patio has been extended into the parking lot so there is ample indoor/outdoor space. Outdoors also has a smoking and non-smoking tables available. Later in the evening can get louder but has a nice vibe to it. Service is always friendly and great but when busy stay out of the way and have your orders ready. Servers are running and have limited time but are efficient and pleasant. There is a large menu and lots to choose from. The taco salad is great and nachos better. The steak is not as good so I stick to the basic pub options and never go home disappointed.

I went to Character's Pub for lunch with a colleague after a day of site visits. The place is nice, bright, and clean. We were asked to sit anywhere we chose. We sat at the tall tables. The menu we were given is a decent size and they have everything from wings to Nachos to Burgers to Mediterranean food. Lots of salad choices - although their Caesar Salad choices are a bit confusing. The staff was friendly and courteous. The service was accurate and quick. I ordered their lunch special - BLT on Rye and fries. Everything was delicious and the meal was just the right size. The sandwich was a good size and the appropriately portioned fries were tasty and fresh. The price for two meals with non-alcoholic drinks was a very modest $24.00 plus tip. I think this was great, considering the quality of grub provided. The decor was quirky and entertaining. If you like watching sports, poker (poker is not a sport ESPN)or Keno while eating, this is the place for you. The have nine screens and yesterday's sport- de-resistance was the world-famous Calgary Stampede. I would definitely return for lunch and maybe dinner. Not a drinker so...probably not late at night. Two thumbs up fer sure!

This has become the regular Monday night dinner and I have to say , the staff are kind, professional and polite and always helpful. The food for pub food is amazing. I have only found 10 restaurants and this is number # for burgers and I love the fries and the jalopena peppers and the specials are well priced. I highly recommend this pub for the service the $$ and the live bands the fun atmosphere great free parking and try Jimmy's for breakfast there the same building and same polite professional staff. The Monday night is now a tradition same both fantastic service and amazing food. Check it out!!

Character’s Pub is my home away from home. The wait staff are awesome! Friendly fast service. The food is always top notch and the prices are reasonable. The portion sizes are HUGE! The menu has many options (I recently had the seafood fettuccine and was blown away at how much seafood was included!). Sooo good! The drink specials are really good too. My favourite is the tequila sunrise. A steal of a deal for $4.50! I was so impressed with the staff and the way that they’ve been handling the ups and downs of covid that I bought them a box of Purdy’s chocolates as a thank you for being so amazing. Each of the wait staff came over to my table to thank me for doing this for them. Such awesome ladies! Kudos to the owner for obviously being a good leader to his team! Oh!!! The patio area is nicely spaced out and at night time the lights make it feel festive! All in all this place ROCKS!!! My favourite pub!!!

I was with a party of 5 arriving to eat in the pub, as Jimmy J's next door was closed. We go there almost every time I'm in Chilliwack. The portions are huge and the Schnitzel Neptune is to die for (2nd schnitzel for 2 bucks). The other 4 wore masks, but I can't, due to a broken nose and other issues that make wearing a mask impossible for me. The Host would not let me enter, even though I explained my situation. I showed her a copy of the Mandatory Mask Order, which allows exemptions for those who are unable to wear masks due to physical or psychological conditions, which I have in spades. She said that her boss would not allow it, even though I assured her that he cannot get fined for non-mask-wearers in his establishment, according to the BC Human Rights Commission. I advised her that she is violating my human rights as a senior with a medical condition THAT IS FULLY EXEMPTED BY THE LEGISLATION. The exchange sent me into a panic attack and I couldn't breathe to talk to her. I and my 4 masked friends then left to spend a couple of hundred bucks somewhere else. They went to dinner and I got A&W takeout - and a great time was had by all. Oh, I also advised the Host that I will be filing a formal complaint against them with the BC Human Rights Commission - I have the form open now. The HRC has printable posters on their site, so that businesses can display the ENTIRE Act, allowing these exemptions, fine-free for the employer. NO PERSON WITH A DISABILITY OR MEDICAL CONDITION, RECOGNIZED BY THE GOVERNMENT, SHOULD BE DENIED GOODS, SERVICES, OR ANYTHING ELSE ENJOYED BY COMPLIANT MASK WEARERS. Enough with all of the videos of abusive, maskless customers assaulting poor store staff. How about some footage of seniors being berated and driven into medical distress by weary, paranoid, ill-informed staff. You don't deserve a job if you treat people like that. On the other hand, KUDO's to the staff who understand the human condition, and the law. I go out of my way to brighten the days of people I meet in the store, etc. I have had SIX panic attacks in Langley stores and now, my 7th panic attack in Characters Pub, all due to lack of communication, lack of caring, and trying to save your job at the expense of others. I'll never go back there again, schnitzels or not. That is how they treat you there. Retailers better get with the program. And I will file a Human Rights complaint every time this happens to me again. That is how things are changed for the better.

While visiting, this was our go to place ! We came here 3 times, and each visit was 5/5! The staff were always friendly and attentive, but never overbearing. They had a huge awesome cocktail selection(including blended frozen delights !) at really reasonable prices. They always had a food and drink special going on. The food was always so very good - we kept coming back ! The atmosphere was super fun and laid back. They played good music at a perfect volume. They also had TVs that showed sports and a smaller one for lotto like Keno. Drinks we enjoyed included - Blended Frozen Peach Belini Bartenders Root Beer Mudslide White Russian Blended Frozen Strawberry Peach Margarita Pint of Canadian with a side of Clamato (my husband said it was the best type of Clamato- he was really pleased) Food selection included Potato Skins ( OMG The BEST Ever !! ) Beef Dip w/ceaser salad Artichoke Dip Calamari Double Bacon Cheeseburger w/onion rings Can’t say enough good things about this place. Will defiantly return next time we are in the area.

Nice and cozy place, great food for a pub. Only thing that i had an issue with was that our server (young redhead) would constantly complain about the fact that she just broke up with her boyfriend as if it were our issue. My friends and i sympathised for her but thats the last thing that we want to deal with on a night out. She then proceeded to elaborate to me when I was outside for a cigarette and took a french fry off of my friends plate as if she thought it was cute. Would go back but would turn around and walk out if she was working.

Not even worth the 1 star. Worst experience possible. We were sent over to Character’s from Jimmy J’s because they couldn’t accommodate 6 people for breakfast, and then we were kicked out because not all of us had ID even though no one ordered alcohol and we were all 25+. We just wanted breakfast and water. I hope the 10 year olds behind us had their ID on them because they were enjoying the breakfast we never got.

There is nothing worse than being in a restaurant and feeling unwelcome. Our server...aka the blonde with duck lips was so annoyed we were there this evening. We went for a few drinks and a snack around 10:30. She didn't even know what a lager was!? We sat with empty drinks for almost 35 minutes and she never checked on our food which was mediocre at best. She wasn't busy and seemed high.

We went there to play pool in a somewhat quiet environment for my 60th birthday,, and we got exactly that. Lively and popular, but you could hear the people at your table talk. Pool games are $1.25, which is quite reasonable. We really enjoyed our time there and the waitress was very good and knowledgeable of drinks and shots. I was very impressed. Definitely recommend for an enjoyable time with friends.

Comin to this place for last 2 years that iv been livin here in chilliwack by far best french toast breakfast in town or any where best place for your buck friendly staff over all good food cant beat the prices. Find myself only eating here unless i want sushi or something different.

Starving...travelling from Revelstoke to Langley. Stopped for food....only a few minutes from the hwy. Its Sunday night and they had a great special... you have the choice from any special from the week which includes a meal and a pint of beer for $10.95. My GF and I both chose the chipotle chicken burger. Mine with onion rings and hers with fries.

Went there with some cranky friends. Service was reasonable, prices were fair, smelled like a pub. Friends were still cranky when they left. Didnt expect them to be un-cranked but I was kind of hoping something would happen. Oh and I saw the most un-rock n roll thing happen there. Some guitar player dude in the cover band was sitting down during his performance. Hey...why dont you bring a pillow and a tent next time? Have a nap maybe?

Was recommended to check this place out by a friend..Your typical smokey keno pub, bit of a rough crowd. Sat on the patio, big groups of guys chain smoking cigarettes yelling at each other across the patio, characters.. haha Got the beef dip and a chicken wrap. Not sure why everyone says the food is so good.. Both meals were supppper dry we had to send them back. The beef dip was a massive let down, bone dry beef and a bun, that was it, no cheese, onions or anything. If it weren’t for the Au jus I wouldn’t have been able to get it down.. the fries were good tho. The servers were really good and were very apologetic about our food and comped us our dinner. Maybe it was just an off night. Not a terrible place

Before covid this was our go to pub but after their reopening the prices have gone up...the steak dinner has gone from 19.99 to 24.99 a 25% increase, the medium nachos is now the single nachos...that's just two examples. I just got a add in the mail that says happy hour...best prices in town NOT TRUE. Our go to pub is now clear on the other side of town, they have many specials every day $3 high balls and others, and many $4 happy hour food specials and everyday they have dinner specials like Friday is a huge striploin steak with salad, fries and garlic bread for only $11. You gotta have daily food and drink specials now a days in a pub to keep the customers coming in.

Atmosphere is nice, food is pretty good with fair prices. I do however recommend some form of a dress code for your servers. Obviously jeans and things are fine for a pub atmosphere, but all the girls were dressed in jeans and tank tops or spandex pants and tank tops that looked very worn out. It would be something I would put on when I come home to lounge around the house or do yard work in. Kind of sad you focus on maintaining a nice place with decent food but care very little about who serving your customers.

Brother-in-law got food poisoning from poor hygiene and lack of food safe observations. Kitchens are dirty and cleaning is virtually non-existent. Food is mediocre at best and servers are not attentive, ignore customers constantly and unaware of drink menu.

NO CHECKING FOR COVID19!I was told to make a reservation or I could choose the balcony (patio). I was ok with it, smoking is allowed out there. I ordered a sleeve of stout. Then the waitor took my order????My food came and the fries were some crunchy goodness, the schnitzel motza cheese bacon burger was interrupted by some regulars. Loud and obnoxious I asked them to be polite. I had to ask the waitress to step in. I couldn't finish my meal and had to pay full price. I say go to another franchise in the lower mainland and you may expect to eat a meal in peace?

The food was good enough but the service was non existant from the time we placed our order. We never saw our server again until the meal was over, had to take condiments from another table. The orders were not complete and we wanted to order drinks, but an absent server made this out of reach. Might be better if you dont sit on the patio, will probably never know.
