Lovely experience! Overall it was a great visit. Despite having a reservation, we still had to wait for over 30 minutes, but as soon as we were seated, they gave us complimentary appies which was a nice touch. Service was prompt and friendly. Not nearly as authentic as the Abbotsford Bow & Srern. For one, this restaurant has fake brick tile glued onto wooden beams just above the tables but on the downside the building is crumbing in decay with cardboard and plywood stuffed between cement brick walls in order to hide missing concrete. I still gave a star because it looks like it wont be standing for long.

Decent atmosphere upstairs, friendly service, not overbearing or vacant but observant. We shared charcuterie, I had a nice pale ale, she had a couple of really good mojitos, live entertainment was nice... a note about live entertainment.. should beware not to perform songs such as Leonard Cohens "Hallelujah" while people are dining.. total mood killer there Dudley Downer! (not reflected upon in my rating)

Very nice atmosphere. Waitress was pleasant.I was in a rush and was quickly feed and given my beverages. Sadly the one thing I wanted, this was lunchtime, fried oysters, they were out of. Ordered all apps, they were all great! Love their coleslaw!

after seeing a friend's photo of key lime pie I knew I had to try this place out. It was well worth it. The gf loved her crab, massive, fresh serving, I started with garlic prawns (would be nice as a starter without fries, but still worth it), which were perfect, then a 10oz steak which was also cooked perfectly. And yes, I had key lime to finish, and it was excellent. The restaurant is very cool inside, kind of industrial and modern I guess? Service was great and the food as above, excellent.

Steaks and salmon served raw. Because of covid they have to make entirely new ones. Second steaks come back raw again at which point they either re-fired them or made a third batch. Server says that steaks aren't their specialty. Manager says that's just how they cook them. Well if they can't cook steak it shouldn't be on the menu, and I'm not sure I've ever heard of raw salmon being "the way we cook it". Won't ever be going back there and can't wait for something good to replace it.

I went for my birthday dinner and ordered the lobster mac and cheese, our appies were great and good beer but mains weren't. Everyone else got their food and i was left waiting, my dish was scooped up and sent elsewhere. When my food came after being remade it was a small serving and more like mac and cheese soup with literally 2 pieces of lobster. For $21 one would expect a large portion with fancy noodles a great creamy sauce loaded with cheesy garlic goodness. ended up leaving without having dinner ...very disappointing

I’ve ordered the Hot Seafood platter twice (take out) so I can’t speak to the customer service. The seafood is delicious but expect to pay $$$. The rice could use work as both times I ordered the platter the rice was not cooked through or bland. I had actually prepared my own rice 1 out of the 2 times ordered.

I have lived most of my life on or around the West Coast of BC...from claming, crabbing, and fishing in Secret Cove from the age of six ...to managing fishing lodges on the West Coast from the central coast to the tip of Vancouver Island...I had one of the best dinners this evening with my friends that I can recall in a long time...I live in Hope now and would like to thank the Bow and Stern for bringing my world a little closer to home...I will be back...and I will bring back the smile that is still on my face...cheers you all...Hondo

First time at this restaurant. Chilliwack location, beautiful architecture inside. Had the seafood platter for 2 Hot. $120. I really enjoyed the variety and flavors were fantastic, not once did I get that fishy taste. Enjoyed the chocolate confession cake. Think that's right. Omg, wow, drooling with every spoonful and dreaming with the taste. The chocolate fudge icing put it over the top for me. We also enjoyed the deep-fried dill pickles and they were amazing. The batter has drill so it keeps with the flavor burst and doesn't leave the pickle bland tasting. Hope you enjoy as much as I did.

As i recognize the establishment is still new and only been open for a few weeks, i found our experience to be lackluster and uninspiring. We were told from the moment we started that there would be no substitutions on the menu as the kitchen is green and needs more experience cooking. Thats quite the statement, dont you think? This reflected in every dish we ordered and it was quite disappointing. The server spilled drinks on our table twice which i get accidents happen. But twice... We ordered the charcuterie board but had one guest that was allergic to shellfish, (i know, wrong place to eat for that guest but it is what it is) and there were prawns all over the board. Again, ill elude to the previous statement of no modifications on the order but an allergy is an allergy and it needs to be taken seriously, even for a green crew. The server had no idea what meats were on the board and was unable to educate us on this menu item. I had the chowder to start and it was unseasoned or to be fair, not seasoned enough. My partner ordered the shrimp cocktail and a garden salad. The shrimp had no flavor and was unseasoned. The salad was all oil and very little raspberry as described on the menu. When asked how the salad was and we let our server know about it, she apologized and walked away. That was a new one for us. As the food was arriving the servers continued to auction the plates at our table. In my experience, and at this price point, the service and kitchen staff should know exactly what seat is ordering what and should be delivered to that person without having to walk to the table and call out who had what. Bad form. Another guest at our table and i shared the market price seafood platter. I asked what the market price was today and the server had no information to give us. As this was a special night out for our table, we ordered it anyways. When our platter arrived, we started with the clams and mussels. Around 40% of the clams and mussels had not opened, indicating they are dead and dangerous to eat. On the kitchen side, more care and attention should have been taken to ensure everything on that plate is safe to eat. At this price point, we should not have to throw away half our shellfish. The salmon and halibut were end cut tail pieces and cooked beyond all resemblance of how fish needs to be prepared. The rice was cold, mushey and flavorless. And in my humble opinion, didn't really need to be there. I will admit that the crab was nice, but again, its crab and is nice as is. The candle in the drawn butter was almost dead when presented to the table and went out immediately and we asked for more candle, that never happened. The lobster was lovely. Also ill add we had to ask on mutiple occasions for cutlery and side plates after our food was at our table. One guest at our table when ordering was told that everything he wanted was sold out. That, is a frustration. In summary, acknowledging the establishment is freshly open, i get there is going to be bumps in the road but knowing this is their second location, and having dinned at the abbotsford store, and loved it, there should be some translation of quality from one location to the next. As of right now, this is not the case. Also if you are gentrifying an area with a restaurant that is in the $$$ price point, there should be a lot more quality controls in place as well as a dynamite service experience. We feel like none of this happened. Hope they can sort out what it is to make this recipe a success, however, we are not interested in returning to a high end seafood restaurant that cant execute seafood correctly.

I was really impressed walking in by the atmosphere and decor. The food was also A-mazing. I had the B&S burger, and it was so flavourful. The patty was grilled perfectly. The fries had just enough salt. My friends food was also awesome. I don't usually finish my whole plate especially fries but both me and my friend completely cleaned our plates.

This place gets four stars because it's a relief to finally see a few different standalone restaurants in a town that pretty much only has fast food chains. However, be prepared to pay almost $100 for fish and chips for two (plus a drink). The food is definitely good but the price is what you'd expect at an upscale restaurant and this place is definitely not that. Their website presents as at least higher-end/upscale but this place is definitely just a pub. With that said, it's still a nice casual place to have seafood and I'm sure it helped bring more life to downtown Chilliwack!

Our third time at Bow & Stern in Chilliwack. Went for a celebratory dinner for my wife and similar experience to last time. Atmosphere is awesome, appetizers are solid, we love the deep fried pickles and oysters, however the mains weren’t great. We both had seafood pasta and the food wasn’t seasoned. We hate sending stuff back, but for $23 for pasta and some seafood, the food should be seasoned. Our waitress was great and offered some other recommendations, however when they came out, same issues with food being bland. We’re from the East Coast, and we so want to love Bow & Stern but haven’t had the best experiences there thus far food wise.

Very decent prices and a very pleasant time to be had at this new renovated development in downtown Chilliwack. Clean friendly service definitely a runner up for a new gem of the Wack. Mostly fish platters with a selection of fresh and cooked, with fresh oysters. (watch out for pearls) as my step father found one in the fresh oyster. Excellent place to entertain guests from out of town, anniversaries, that job promotion, or a nice casual date with your sweetheart. Worth it!

Sibling lunch date with my big sister, I was undecided between the fish and chips and the Honey Thyme fried chicken. On the servers recommendation I tried the chicken. Off the charts fantastic,coupled with the fresh cut endless fries. Fantastic.. can't wait to go back and check out some of their other savory offerings.

Won't be back. Visit 1 .. absolutely fantastic. Visit 2 .. were brought the wrong orders. Ours took another 30 minutes. Visit 3 .. music was so loud we couldn't hear each other. Drinks were wrong. Visit 4 .. people next to me were given our meals. Again another 30 minutes. Visit 5 .. called in three times to be seated. Was wrong call. 4th time we were finally seated. Last visit, the ceaser salad dressing was sour. Our steaks were raw. Ordered medium well. At no time were there any compensation offered or replacement for wrong items. Won't be back. None of us.

I went came here for lunch a week later and it the burger was probably the best burger I've had. It was definitely home made. The service was really good! I've visited the Abbotsford location in the past, and it's a personal favorite. When I was faced with picking a restaurant in Chilliwack while driving back home on the highway from Manning park, it was a no brainer! Amazing staff, beautiful industrial/gas town vibe and delicious food. My favorite is the seafood pasta! Let's not forget happy hour..the white wine paired well. My friend had the tacos...and they were decent size. I recommend this place.

Mediocre at best. The food was okay, nothing amazing. We had the calamari and tiger prawns to start and Lobster Mac & Cheese and the Baja Fish Tacos for entrees. The calamari and tacos were decent. Lobster Mac & Cheese was very bland. Service was not great. Asked for water and didn't receive any. The server was very slow taking our order and delivering food. We were not asked if we wanted additional drinks, dessert, or anything. Overall, would not return.

Came in for a quick appetizer and maybe a drink. They were out of most popular options, like the tacos and wings, but fair enough for a Monday I guess. We decided on the Brussels sprouts as we’ve enjoyed them before at the Abby location. We received a dish of burnt and charred sprout pieces drenched in honey. Couldn’t even eat it. Didn’t want to make a big deal of it because it was just one appy and we could tell the server was having a long day. She asked how everything was and we said that it wasn’t our favourite, which was also clear from the plate full of food we were returning. We were a bit surprised that she didn’t offer to fix anything as she brought us the bill, but again we could sense the tension from her so decided it wasn’t a big enough deal. We put $15 on the table and will not be returning.

I expected typical chain restaurant like every other Cactus Club, Earls, etc..... Instead we had a server who had years of experience and realized that it is a family run business. I am guessing the family treats thier staff well. The seafood platter for two was alot of food for two people. Comparatively priced to any other chain restaurant but this visit proved a way better experience in service.

We had an excellent dinner for two at this establishment. Even though it is primarily a seafood restaurant, there are plenty of other choices. I had the oysters and chips, they were both tasty and perfectly seasoned, while not being at all oily. This restaurant has a fun cocktail menu and good craft beer.

Was very disappointed with our order. I made our requested online for pickup and they missed our order all together. We went to pickup order only to be asked if we maybe ordered from Abby store, NOPE! They went searching and yup they missed it. Wait another 20 minutes for it be cooked. No compensation at all for their screw up and my time sitting waiting. Did get to sit down and have dinner until 8pm. Very poor customer service.

Staying at the Coast Chilliwack for work (absolutely wonderful!) and ordered the dozen raw oysters, mussels in white wine with focaccia & a bottle of Church & State Chardonnay. When it arrived I was very impressed with how the oysters were packed, the wine was beautifully chilled. The mussels were perfectly done, flavor was fantastic. Oysters and accompaniment sides were so fresh and delightful. The Chardonnay is one of my favorites, glad to see it on the menu (I’m from the Okanagan)! A great pairing for some truly delicious offerings. Thank you!!

Really want to like this place, unfortunately it's disappointment this time. The Calamari is especially worst. Not as bad as the one from the boathouse but it's bad enough. Over cooked and taste like chewing gum. The cod was also over cooked, it taste like frozen fish from Costco instead of fresh one. The mussel flavour taste as expected, but the ingredients quality is not even. Some mussel is really dry and small. The only one that's on the level was seafood linguine. Maybe I set my expectations too high.

Pros: - Killer environment - awesome ambience - Great service - Busy - Everyone from the hostess to the bartender to the manager were kind and seemed like solid peeps Cons: - Busy (1.5 hour wait on Saturday night) - The food we ordered was pretty meh overall. It wasn’t bad it just wasn’t good and I wouldn’t go back for the food (poutine came out luke warm and had a bit of a weird minty taste, mango shrimp tacos were mostly coleslaw with only a few chunks of mango and a couple shrimp, B&S burger came out cooked well done as did the bacon on it, the latter of which I actually quite appreciated, haha). Hopefully they get the kitchen sorted in time. - When we got the call to come back because our table was free, we showed up and they told us the table that was ready was on the patio. When they sat us outside we were the only people on the patio, it was cold and they were just turning the lights and heater on. I very much enjoyed the atmosphere and the food of this establishment! The inside of the place has been done up beautifully! We came on the snow day, it was still pretty steady which was nice to see and we we got a table right away. The food was very good and our service was great. We were slow to figure out what we wanted and our waitress was patient with us but still checked in regularly to make sure she caught us when we were ready. Lots of great options to choose from, no matter what your diet is. Will definitely be returning!

We went here with my parents to celebrate their anniversary & the restaurant opening. They were quick to accommodate us when we realized that our reservation was upstairs and that would be difficult for two seniors to navigate. Our service was prompt and friendly but it was the food that really stood out. My husband had the steak and it was one of the best he has ever had (and he eats a lot of steak!). Two of us had the halibut and chips and we both loved it. The best fish and chips I have had in years - I have no idea how they make their batter but it was super light and crispy! Highly recommend the prawn ceviche as an appetizer but you may not want to share it (it was so delicious I wanted it all for myself). My dad is super picky about his calamari and he was impressed with the portion size and with how good it was. It was good to see the restaurant busy and some life back in downtown Chilliwack. Great quality food and great service = repeat customers and we will be back.

Disappointed again, first time we waited 50 minutes after being told it was a 20 min wait, then we just left because it started to rain. My wife and I thought we would try it again and made reservations this time, the house beer was great, but our burgers buns were black on the inside. That ruined it for us for good.

Nice atmosphere. We've been here twice and the food was just ok. The first time we got the seafood platter and it came out luke warm. It was pretty bland not enough garlic or seasoning. The next time we went we got calamari which was bland but cooked ok. Clam chowder came out luke warm and our oyster appetizer needs better sauces, super bland again. If the food has better flavors and actually came out hot, this place would be a 5 star.

Seafood fettucine was amazing again. Every piece... the clams, mussels, prawns and salmon all cooked to perfection. Very reasonably priced as well. Service again was extremely good and attentive. Our server Liz recommended the deep fried banana split and it did not disappoint. This is a golden egg... a must visit... even if seafood is not your thing. Easily my new favorite... will be my go to from here on out.

An Abbotsford restaurant that has expanded to Chilliwack. The wait has been worth it. This is a great fine dining restaurant that is a welcome addition to the area. Set in the renovated downtown , the restaurant provides a great atmosphere with very good food and great service. The staff are all facemasked, tables social distanced, menus sanitized and there are arrows on the floor to control traffic flow. The food specializes in seafood but there are lots of other options if you wish. Be aware that this is a busy place so make a reservation, especially at Prime times.

Bow & S is in walking distance from my place so I wanted it to be my new go to... That's why I have tried to eat there 7 times now. I have sent back dishes 3 of those times and I am not someone who sends back food unless it's really awful! If the deep-fried food isn't soft and soggy (the calamari) then there's the fish and chips that was soaked in grease. They have a "fried Chicken" dish that was just chicken strips (no bone, not drum and leg); even though they have a separate "Chicken Strips" dish on the menu too. All the Wait staff have been great other than the time I asked for mash potatoes instead of fries with my steak and she charged me a $6 fee. I had done that the time before with no charge and she insisted that's how it had to be done as it costs more for mashed.....(lol). The next time I asked again and the new waitress had no problem and no extra fee. atmosphere is wonderful, live music was great, I will stick to a drink without food if I go again.

The IPA was fantastic. The oysters were fresh and delicious. The clams were also good. Bottomless french fries usually isn't a big deal.. but these fries are exceptional. Why didn't I give The Bow & Stern five stars? My hamburger was charcoal. Burnt very badly. I could vaguely make out the other ingredients on the Burger but they were over powered by the charcoal hockey puck. That being said. This place has a great atmosphere. I will definitely be coming back and I'm confident they will get the correct cook on my burger the next time around.

Been here twice and the experience varied slightly for each visit. The first visit was great, food was amazing and service was quick. They specialize in more seafood type items if your into that . Craft beer selection is great. The second visit it was much more busy which lead to our service being slower. I could tell our server was newer so i'm going to assume it's just the growing pain of opening a new restaurant which is to be expected. We ordered a prawn appetizer both times and the first time it came with no tails and the second time it had tails on, this is inconsistent. We ordered the crab and it came with butter but not enough to finish the meal (again something to think about) We did not have an appointment so we had to wait 30minutes for a table on a friday night, i suggest you make a reservation. None the less the atmosphere is great, servers are friendly, food is really really good, beer is great. I love this addition to our restaurant options in chilliwack. Great to see the downtown core getting some higher end places. I'll be back again for sure.

Food was good. Nothing over the top. But decent. Service Needs Attention. We had a young lady by the name Jade. She was very pleasant at first. We ordered are drinks to start . We ordered double rye and cokes a double rye and ginger and 2 double strawberry mojitos. My friend an avid rye n coke drinker, noticed right away , that the colour in the drink was lighter then the rye and ginger. Both drinks looked like rye n water. they tasted it, n well, it wasn’t coke. Hey no big deal, we will drink it and mention to the nice server that something wasn’t right. Well to our surprise our server had another opinion. We explained about our drinks and before apologizing or at least the benefit of doubt that the “customer is right “, she was quick to defend that “I actually watched the bartender make the drink”. Well we ordered another round even tho we were appalled by the servers rude reaction, well wouldn’t you know she came back and said well I ya there was something wrong with our coke syrup . So here you go. Not an apology, not oops My bad nothing. Her rude initial reaction left a very bad taste in my mouth along with a horrible drink. With that being said you would only think the way to make it right is take the drink off the bill.... ohhhhh no , why would anybody wanna do that ! We spent over 230$ , n very little was done. I wasn’t looking for my bill to be wiped, but Servers you are in the business of customer service, no matter the issue. The customers pay your restaurants bills and staff. Have the common courtesy to be respectful and understanding even if the customer is being rude or for that matter wrong.

I was taken her for a Father's Day dinner. From the time we entered the door we received fantastic service. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about what was on the menu. We ordered the fish and chips, chicken burger and and seafood platter. Everything was fantastic and it arrived quickly.

Service was excellent and the chef came to the table twice on a busy night... Food was uptown. Fresh oysters to start, focaccia and roasted garlic. Very nice, oysters were decent. Hot seafood platter including, crab, prawns, mussels, clams, halibut and salmon on a bed of rice pilaf. All very good and cooked properly. Will be back to try other menu items... Can't wait.

When B&S opened we were there weekly. Great service. Fantastic atmosphere, fantastic service and incredibly friendly staff. I raved to everyone. Everyone of my guests that came to town, we took them to the Bow & Stern. Then, something happened. The entire atmosphere changed. There definitely was a server rollover as we never got the same server or bartender after. Yet I figured we were there a couple of off days and we were confident they would return to the place I raved about. Sadly, things have only gone down hill. Last 3 visits...waItress picked up a plate from the table beside ours and turned so rapidly, the steak knife cut my ankle. I had to request a band aid as not even an apoligy was given. 2nd...there were 4 of us. Our meals all arrived at different times and by the time the last meal arrived the 1st person was done eating. Then the 3rd time. Greeted by a rather cold, unfriendly greeter. Called our number twice to come in to be seated just To be told it was an error. Then we ordered apples and drinks. Drinks arrived and we ended up with a memosa we didn't order. That was not what we ordered. The greeter came to our table and told us that's the way they make the drink we ordered. It's not maid with orange juice but this one was. So after an hours wait for our meal. 2 meals arrived. The third arrived 10 minutes later and a medium steak was cold in the middle and still dripping blood. Given the wait and we had other Edgemont we did not have time to wait while they cooked it properly. We were told, "you can take it to go" we instead asked for the bill. The owner then came out and tried everything to get us to take the steak and even after we expressed our time crunch no apologies were made. This unfortunately was the end of us coming back to B&S. N being in hospitality, I would naturally assume everything would be done to try to keep a loyal well paying and gracious tipper of a customer. Yet again...not even an apology. The waItress was humbled and fantastic and a huge tip was given. After all....it wasn't her fault. No we will not be returning.

Reasons to NOT drive through Chilliwack at 100kM per hour. I drove through it at 100+ for way too long. Get off the highway. Get into town ( the river side). I used to stop at the regular Diners but no more, really you have a few minutes Put it into your schedule, fresh shucked oysters that are excellent (Sorry Fanny Bay). Excellent cocktails.
