We were happy to have made it to this restaurant prior to our vacation ending as it came highly recommended. We were very happy with our entire meal. The Calamari was hot and fresh. I had the Thai coconut haddock and it was a unique dish. Very flavourful. My husband had the pecan maple salmon and loved it. Our server Debra was lovely and so attentive and friendly. Overall a great lunch out.

I would give it 5 stars but for the fact that every time we go there (we try to go a few times each summer when we're on the Island, the first people that we see is a certain man (owner maybe?) and the "hostess". I always smile, the man never does, looks miserable and hostess just as miserable every time she seats us, I've tried smiling, joking around, asking questions, nothing. very bad first point of contact. The servers are great though and the food is decent

Papa Joe’s was, Pre COVID-19, our #1 place to dine and will continue to be our #1 place to dine as restrictions are lifted. Friendly service is awaiting you from the moment you enter their establishment. The friendly service Is just the beginning tho as the cleanliness is evident. And their menu is sumptuous! A wonderful variety for children and adults. A true family restaurant. Our go to on Sundays is their Hot Turkey dinner complete with dressing! They even have a Seniors portion of some items which is great for those who prefer a smaller portion. It’s always nice to ask about their desserts. They have a selection of five or six and they are delicious! Only two concerns tho. One is the lack of accessibility. Two very heavy doors to get into the restaurant prove to be a problem for those with disabilities. Also a very small, yet accommodating for persons with disabilities, female washroom. One has to choose whether to wash their hands before leaving and perhaps hitting someone with the stall door, or leaving. Perhaps the above two concerns were looked after during the lockdown. I was surprised how good the food was here! The pasta had was great, my boyfriend loved the burger and the cheesecake was to DIE for. The most surprising thing to me was the owner. He was working the whole restaurant! Talking to tables he greeted us at the door, asked if it was our first time there and made sure to ask us how our meal was. 10 out of 10

Great service and food. I am not much of a burger guy but was convinced when our server recommended the Goddess Burger. A very interesting combo of spices and I really enjoyed it. If you prefer quieter, ask for the bar side as it can get a touch loud in the main dining area. As a side note: I can recall eating in this building many years ago when it was a Ponderosa! As a side side note: the drawing of Papa Joe on the wall of the lounge looks eerily like Heisenberg from Breaking Bad. ????

I visited Papa Joe's for the first time on September 1st for a late lunch with some friends. My lunch companions raved about the seafood chowder they both ordered. The vegetarian section is somewhat limited so I opted the falafel sandwich which was beautifully seasoned and perfectly done. The service was wonderful; our server was very outgoing, helpful and friendly. I highly recommend a visit to Papa Joe's to anyone visiting Charlottetown.

Big portion, possibly the biggest lobster roll I have ever had this year, a little bit cheaper than other restaurants as well. But there is a lot of room for taste improvement, especially the side caesar salad. Seafood chowder is as good as expected. Neat and clean setting with professional and friendly staff.

This place is a gem. The owners are very nice, the food is awesome (consistently), the options for kids are great, and the service is exceptional. I have food intolerances and this place has loads of gluten free options. Highly recommended.

A very good family restaurant owned and operated by a Charlottetown family for many years. Recently updated. A private dining room is available. I have been there a number of times and the food and service has always been very good. The restaurant is always busy at meal times and a reservation is suggested for groups of 6 or more. The atmosphere is always cheerful with happy chatter among the diners. There is a large parking lot on site, no fee for parking. It also has a full service bar.

The positive is the steak is amazing. The best steak I have ever tasted. However, I was disappointed with the greeter, who I believe is one of the owners. She never seems happy to see people. The children's menu is for twelve and under, but was barley enough to feed my 8 year old. I had to feed her more when we got home. The Caesar salad is terrible. The waitress never asked if we would like a refill on our drinks. The dessert was $10, but was a very small piece. The male owner continued to walk and stare at our table, trying to get us to leave, so they can get more customers in. I think when we spend over $200 in one night, we could have enjoyed our time a little more.

if I could zero star I would. the only good thing was that our server seemed polite, as he should be. my family, a family of color, seemed singled out, as we were out in a separate room away from all other customers. we continuously felt the eyes of the staff, as the gawked as us. other customers continued to look in and you could see the question on their faces "why are they in there?" we went out for the experience of eating out at a nice restuarant and to be able to enjoy the atmosphere around us. but that felt cut short as we were basically but in the back, alone. we might as well stayed home.

“1st day lunch” My family was trying to explore nice places in PEI and really enjoyed all food even draft beer pf PEI. My son loved Pasta Bolognese. Lobster rolls was pretty good with good tasty bread. All is good enough to try to. “2nd day lunch” I was really disappointed with the staff. She was just cutting while I was ordering additional beer and cleaned up anther table. I’m not her neighbor nor a resident in PEI. Even not Canadian. Just tourist here. The experience in this time was the most awful during I have been visiting so many restaurants in Canada, the U. S , Europe countries and Asia countries. Basically what I’m saying is food were superb with nice staffs(on the first day) but a certain staff ? I’m not sure. You should wish your luck with staffs there. All food I had was amazing anyway.

I took my three elderly aunts to lunch and I can tell you that it was by far the best service I've ever received at a restaurant. The young lady that looked after us was attentive understanding of my aunt's physical needs and limitations. The food was great but it was how we were treated that will stick in my mind for years to come

Food was alright, would potentially go back if ever we were on the island again. Front of house staff on the other hand are the reason the rating is so low. We had told both front of house staff members a number but turned out we were short by 1 or 2, both front of house staff were extremely rude and impatient making rude remarks and being all around rude. Once our table was ready he simply threw the menus on the table and walked away as I asked for a booster for my child after advising them before we were even seated we would need one. When I followed him back to the front of house he ignores me while the lady whom was behind the desk raised her hand at me as if she was telling me 1 second. As someone who has worked in the industry for many years and whom is visiting, I found it made our entire experience negative. My only suggestion, get your food to go so you don't have to deal with the staff :)

Excellent service! The interior has has a big remodel since I was last there and looks great. Delicious food- I had the goddess burger and it was just as good as they say. Also enjoyed a Moscow Mule, which is my favourite but I don't often see it on drink menus. It came in the signature copper cup so I was one happy camper. Only downside to the experience was the womens washroom. Put garbage cans in stalls for feminine hygiene products. Its such a basic to miss. No one wants to go in and see and of that on the floor. :/

From the outside doesn't look like much. The inside was pleasantly surprising . The decor was modern , clean and large tables with lots of room to move around. Prices were fair and had excellent menu options. Our food was near perfect as well as the service . Infact I can't say enough good about how pleasant our experience was here ! I recommend to anybody . Oh and we are a family of three with a 6 year old whom also enjoyed his cheese pizza and fries!

My cousin couldn't eat her fish. It was old. We went to celebrate our birthday. Had a hard time finding something we could order . No basic food . Everything seemed very ".gourmet" for our palette. I am on special diet & need food void of special sauces & breading. My parents would never eat there . They used to enjoy it in the past.

Papa Joe’s was, Pre COVID-19, our #1 place to dine and will continue to be our #1 place to dine as restrictions are lifted. Friendly service is awaiting you from the moment you enter their establishment. The friendly service Is just the beginning tho as the cleanliness is evident. And their menu is sumptuous! A wonderful variety for children and adults. A true family restaurant. Our go to on Sundays is their Hot Turkey dinner complete with dressing! They even have a Seniors portion of some items which is great for those who prefer a smaller portion. It’s always nice to ask about their desserts. They have a selection of five or six and they are delicious! Only two concerns tho. One is the lack of accessibility. Two very heavy doors to get into the restaurant prove to be a problem for those with disabilities. Also a very small, yet accommodating for persons with disabilities, female washroom. One has to choose whether to wash their hands before leaving and perhaps hitting someone with the stall door, or leaving. Perhaps the above two concerns were looked after during the lockdown. We read reviews that this place was popular so thought we would check it out. We were seated right away after entering which was great. The service was prompt and friendly and the waitress struck up a conversation with us. We started with the seafood chowder which I thought tasted great (I have never had seafood chowder before so nothing to compare to but it was tasty all the same). I got the steak sandwich and a salad with the blueberry vinaigrette. The salad was good leafy greens with some carrots and tomatoes. The steak was flavourful and cooked just like I asked. The steak sits over a piece or garlic bread that was fresh. My wife had the bacon wrapped scallops and we try each other's food and I really enjoyed them as well . She got 8 scallops and the spinach and potatoes that it came with were good.

We came out of town for a visit, decided to eat here since we seen the good reviews. First off they ran out of the two apps we wanted, shrimp and muscles, so we got none. My hubby ordered an alcoholic drink, so did I, when it came time for a fill up they ran out of his so he decided to order a spice rum and coke, waiter came back saying they also ran out so he had water. We finally get the food and there is a small hair in his plate. Very not impressed for what we had at the price we paid per plate. Would not recommend.

One of my favourite spots to eat in Charlottetown. I could eat their Zatar Fries every day, they are so tasty. Service can be a tad slow at times, usually because they are so busy, so just give yourself a few extra minutes!

We booked on Dec 29 for a large group. It is our parents favorite place, so we wanted to take them to Papa Joes. There was over 20 of us and there was another group booked right after us, so we only had 2 hours.It was great. Had steak sandwich with caesar salad. Was fantastic. Perfectly done. Med rare. Caesar was a vinaigrette instead of a creamy which I prefer. Auntie had chowder she loved. Hubby had PEI scallops with mashed. He said it was delicious. Server was awesome. Can't remember her name. Sorry.
