This Restaurant is classified in the category of Seafood restaurant.
We were greated with smiling faces, as we approach the counter we asked “if Brian was working tonight” and they said “yes he is how you hear about him” we said “oh we just read your reviews online and it said that someone had a great time with Brian so we want him.” They laughed, after being directed towards our table and sitting down Brian greeted us we chit chatted a little bit and then took us on a tour of where the lobsters are stored and where they came from and how to tell the differences between male and female lobster, after we got back to our table we placed our order and not even more then 4 minutes later our appetizers arrived the bacon wrapped scallops are amazing, clam chowder never tried before in my life was really good same goes for the clams, and our main course which had to be lobster was the best lobster anyone would have in there life cooked perfectly not rubbery in any way these in concussion it’s definitely worth coming here and If you don’t believe me come see for yourself
Great seafood. Great location with deck overlooking harbour. Wonderful service in an unpretentious setting. Never seen so many lobsters being served so must be good.
The lobster was amazing!! ???????????? I would definitely recommend it! ????
Lobster is good, all you can eat salad bar which includes mussels. & chowder plus dessert
Love the lobster roll. Great view of the wharf.
The mussels are fantastic.
Tasty foods, reasonable price, nice people.
Tumbs up !!!
All the seafood is below average quality and the price for shell fish based on portion size is way off. Won't be back
Great food and service. Sat on the patio and enjoyed our lunch while enjoying the waterfront.
Certainly not cheap, but that is not unusual near the water in Charlottetown. The food was certainly excellent, and the service great also. Definitely recommended.
Amazing location
Seafood chowder thin and runny, clams in broth tasteless. Portions very small. Place looks run down (Ethernet cables hanging from the wall); could need a new coat of paint. LED floodlights on and blinding patrons. Upon request to switch them off because it was in the middle of the day, the request was denied. Very unfortunate and bad experience. Will never come here again.
Find other places to eat cus this place is so expensive yet the amount served is so little. Not worth it.
really great sea food
Unfortunately I had a bad reception by the old owner, I think he was having a bad day I don’t know but after I meet the new owner oh my God, she is amazing and her husband was super friendly and he makes the best he could to find our spot in the best view that’s he could. Amazing food, taste is simply delicious. O will be back for sure.
Emphasis is on seafood. Quality is very good. We have dined here numerous times and have never had a poor experience. Staff are prompt and friendly. Prices are middle of the road.
I has better food and better prices just a few blocks away. Not overly impressed here.
Lovely Large Patio
We went to buy fresh lobster from the market and the man serving us was incredibly rude to us, didnt seem to want to answer any of our queations, and after spending just under 250.00$$ in LIVE lobster and a few bags of scallops, he wanted to charge us another 21.00$$ for a BOX to transport our lobster, so if your buying from the Lobster on the Wharf Market, make sure you bring a box! I wouldnt give any stars if I could!
Speedy service and delicious food! Best servers in the world!
Found the best price here. Bring in your cooler if you have it, and bring live lobster home.
We attended a wedding, the setting was beautiful, sunset on the deck overlooking the water. The food was delicious and staff were extraordinary.
pretty good, but too long time for the next dishes.
bought some lobsters here, super tasty !
Bam, best lobster roll ever. Better still everything there is great.
we had dinner here as part of a group tour which included either a lobster or steak dinner. the extremely rude waiter informed us that we could not request our steaks (do not eat lobster) to be prepared to our liking. He said that all steaks would come medium rare since we were a large group (there was 19 of us). We asked for one steak to be well done, It came completely black and inedible. I asked for my steak to be medium and it came very well done (it was edible but not tasty. I intend to inform my tour company of my complete dissatisfaction with this restaurant.
Great food a bit pricey
Mediocre food at a high end price. Location is great, but that's about it. Bread is cold like it is taken from the fridge, potato salad is choking in mayo, food is merely warm and uninspiring. It does not worth a visit.
I had the fish tacos and it was genuinely some of the best fish I've ever had. Huge shoutout to Tony the server who made our experience even more amazing, I would give him 10 stars if I could :)
Only quality restaurant on the warf
Skip it, tourist trap that is so expensive. They are offering food at the prices of a high end restaurant, and no where near that calibre. The $5 plastic chairs that are on the patio are incredibly uncomfortable. The service we had wasn't great. Check out the more traditional lobster dinners elsewhere, if you're looking for lobster.
It was delicious! Simply one of the best seafood restaurants in Prince Edward Island. Their menu is amazing and the options are great. Prices are great compared to the food portion and the food melted in my mouth. Pay them a visit; weather it's an occasion or just your day off work, it'll make your day.
Could believe this take out order from “Lobster on the wharf” 14$ Calamari had 8 piece of calamari in it ..will attach pic .. shame on you guys.. will definitely not go back .. neither will I recommend this place
The food was very tasty but I concur with some other reviews that the service was slow for a big group. The location is excellent though with a great view of Charlottetown Harbour. The calamari was some of the best I've had. Sides were very average.
Great food and service. You can't beat fresh and locally owned. The views of the Charlottetown harbour are awesome as well.
Filled with tourists for a reason. Good food.
It was rough times. Had a reservation for 630. Sat and wasn't seen for 20 minutes, didn't even stay, family of 5 . Another table there before us wasn't seen. Was really excited to try it also but just wasn't there day.
Good service. A bit pricey for lobster during the season. But it was good.
Had lobster roll and mustard pickles. They were delicious.
Love this place you should check it out
Great food. Love the freshly bake biscuits there. Also, Great view.
This restaurant is the best in PEI. We had a very good time and the service was so good and made it so special. We were a group of 12 people and each and every one was so personally treated. The food was amazing and the Lobster is soooooo good. I recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting PEI.
Fantastic location, great food Outstanding location and views, we got a window seat on a bright sunny day and it was heaven. This is a tourist area so it’s not really value priced but the offerings are solid. We had some huge, well shucked oysters, good seafood chowder and a 2 pound lobster which was fantastic. I had the fried clams, not the best value on the menu. The kids meals are very affordable and high value (comes with drink and dessert). If you are visiting PEI this is a great place to go right on the water.
Make a reservation! Awesome!
The seafood was OK. Waitress was awesome! Desserts were not very good. Very nice sitting out on the wharf on a warm sunny night. The biggest problem with this place is that there is no parking at all. They provide 6 spots out front ... that's all. The rest of the parking is residential and signs are confusing. Other drivers were stopping me and asking ME for parking even though I was confused as well. The pay parking lot was full.
My wife and I both ordered the seafood chowder. Hers was steaming hot. Mine was cold. Told the waiter. He didn't seem to care. He said he would tell the kitchen. I have had better.
The lobster roll is so delish❤
Pleasantly located outside on wharf overlooking bay....bring a sweater though
Ate on the deck, watching the Cruise ships come in. - Good food - Friendly employees - Great atmosphere Will definitely be back for more Lobster.
Great food!
Fresh seafood, good service, and great company was what I wanted and what I got for the most part. As a group of four adults two of us ordered the lobster bisque. The other two ordered appetizers. Consensus was the bisque was a little thin and flavour just slightly lacking for our taste however copious amounts of lobster chunks made up for it any disappointment. The lobster claw appetizer and was delicious and well worth the cost. The crab cakes were also a huge hit. Our lan lover had a steak - about average. Two of us built our own trio player and other than cost due to what we order extremely happy. The last had the halibut and again was extremely satisfied. Portions were good and prices were market rates.
Lobster roll was good. Lobster mac n cheese was not worth the dollars. Its $35 but not worth the price.
Kanada und Lobster-and-Cod.. the one and only
The service wasn't great; the waitress was slow to come and even though I specifically asked for something to be left off the plate, it was there. The food was also only okay. The prices were mid-tier, but too much for what you get.
Delicious meal and awesome service!
Awesome service! We were traveling through the area and descided to stop for supper. Our dog was traveling with us so needed take-out. The waiter suggested we order from the seafood market next door and that they would have everything we wished to eat. They sure did and then some. Steamed lobster with all the fixings, seafood chouder and rolls and my wifes favorite lobster rolls. Thanks for the great service and recommendations.
Really enjoyed the location and the food options. We were waited on quickly which is a nice change, not everyone on vacation has lots of time on their hands. Everything came hot and tasted great. Will have to try the lobster next time.
Not good this place
Service was good but the seafood pot pie was not. There were very tiny shimp and scallops in it with minimal taste. I saw maybe two pieces of lobster and they were both tiny leg meat. The pastry was doughy and hard to cut through. Would never order it again. My husband got the bacon wrapped scallops and they were big and full of flavor but he also got a ceaser salad that was dry. Not somewhere I am going to hurry back to.
I ordered fish and chips. Just little bit over oily. Service was excellent.
Super friendly staff. Great tasting food and amazing vibe.
The main differentiator among other restaurants would be the outside seating right above the sea, which is amazing - great area to enjoy the sunlight with cool breeze. The food was ok - we ordered lobster bisque (not good), seafood platter (which was decent but average), and fish n chips (which was surprisingly good).
Best service. Best haddock.
Really good lobster roll, the chowder delicious, but the half plate too small. I recommend also the clams that are enormous size and really really good taste. The stuff nice and friendly!
The lobster bisque was warm at best, but the lobster in it was cold, made for a bad combination. Also, the service was pretty bad, the waitress never once refilled our waters, she walked up to the table, asked how the food was and immediately walked away, didn't even give us the chance to ask for more water. Similar thing happened when we were paying for the bill.
Went there for dinner on September 21 2021, omg very expensive lobsters over cook over priced scallops tasted nothing my sangria diluted into to munch ice one star for the view
Lobster and scallops were overcooked. The coleslaw and potato salad were drenched in mayonnaise. Fish tacos were flavourless with fish that tasted not so fresh. One of those touristy spots that don't need to try
Great place to eat lobster and other seafood. Their lobster & crab dip is delicious as well as their lobster and beef burger. Staff is also very friendly and although we had to wait a few minutes for our table, it was fully worth the wait.
(Translated) Very good but expensive! (Original) Tres bon mais cher!
(Translated) Ordinary for the price. The New Glasgow Lobster suppers is much better. (Original) Ordinaire pour le prix. Le New Glasgow Lobster suppers est bcp mieux.
Restaurant is well situated in the downtown district and had great views of the harbour. Service was great, our waiter was fairly new but very attentive and courteous. Food was good, had the fish and chips and fish tacos, batter was a bit heavy on the fish and chips.
Worth the wait! The waitress was great and knowledgeable. The lobster was delicious.
Too expensive. The price is high and portion are small... However the food is good but not sensational.
Location and views are great, but the menu feels too much like a Red Lobster. Tired food options, cliché decor... Just not up to expectations. Would love to see a refreshed menu and update to the look.
Went for lunch, lobster in a hot dog bun (forget what they called it) was OK. Nothing spectacular. Staff was very nice. Dinner probably would have been better.
Location is best feature
Disappointing tourist trap. Try smaller places around town.
Stopped here on a bus tour. Great food.
The service sucks. But it is not a staff problem it is a management problem
Excellent service, all staff were friendly and nice. We had mussel on the wharf as an appetizer, that was sautéed in white wine, butter, onion and garlic. Very tasty. Lobster roll was ok. I asked our server to have a dessert menu and instead of a menu, she brought a tray with all different kinds of cake that they have, so we could see all the options. They have english and Chinese menu.
Like it. Nice waitress. Not long waiting for the dishes. Lobsters were cooked perfectly.
Omgosh. No offence but the food isn't that great for the prices they charge. Crab cakes tasted like a mouthful of curry. There was a piece of paper cardboard in the coleslaw. The Mac and cheese tasted like canned seafood. Not a great experience. However... the server was super friendly, a little klutsy, but friendly. Made the experience a bit better.
Freshest lobster we tasted on this trip, cooked to perfection. Seafood chowder & lobster poutine was also delicious. Our server was great. However, we waited over an hour to have food delivered to our table after waiting 15min to be seated and ordering. That was a Tuesday night so i'm assuming all summer nights are equally busy.
We were accommodated on a very busy night which we were grateful for with two young children. It was evident that they were extremely under staffed but that didn't stop our server GG from providing amazing service. She was friendly and was very gracious to our 3 year old daughter who is quite chatty. She checked in often and offered her advice on the menu. My husband got the lobster Mac and cheese and said it was great and they were generous with the lobster. The lobster roll was well received by my mother as well. I got the crab cakes and I wasn't a fan. The spices over powered the taste and I found them grainy and dry. I wish I had chosen something else. We shared the salted caramel torte and didn't really like it either. Save the calories.
Please avoid! There are so many better restaurants on the island. This was SO expensive and very poor quality food. They served FROZEN fries.. in PEI!!! Server was nice but took forever!! Lobster roll was gross. All bun..
Awesome food
Clean friendly and nice view. Food was good. Service not so great, as not so busy at time I went. Lobster sandwich meat was cold not what I expected. Should've chose something else.
I had my wedding at Lobster on the Wharf in October, 2019. Steven and Jeremy were absolutely amazing when it came to helping me plan the event, and the restaurant itself was a beautiful venue. We had our ceremony on the upper deck with an amazing view of Charlottetown and the cruise ships. The food was delicious (especially the chowder!), and the service was outstanding. The waitress, whose name is Teagan, was sweet and accommodating to us all night. Couldn't be happier that I chose LOTW for my big day!
Love this place.
Great prices for generous portions in a timely manner
Very Very bad experience No taste, no service, the food came after hour and half and restaurant was not busy. They even neglected our comments Small portion compated to what we paid.
Nice outside tables in the evening. Service was ok. The seafood portions of the meals were good, but not great. The sides and non seafood portions were a bit disappointing.
(Translated) Really ordinary great side on the site but for me we just had very ordinary food (Original) Vraiment ordinaire super bien côté sur les site mais pour ma part on as eu juste de la nourriture très ordinaire
This restaurant is amazing and fressh. The left half is a live seafood market. Everything is delicioous , the chowder was the best i have ever had. Great atmosphere and ambience. Would not recommend sitting outside during the evening but everything else is solid
On our first visit to this restaurant my wife and I enjoyed fresh lobster claws and salads with white wine on the warf overlooking the marina. A really nice place for a full meal or just a light lunch. The history of the local lobster fishery is portrayed on the walls and entrance wherever you look. City maps are available for free as well. You gotta eat outside to really appreciate the scenery of Charlottetown harbour and marina. Make sure the sun is shining and you won't regret it. Service was great and our waitress ( Kelsey) was friendly and helped point out places to see in Charlottetown on our visit. Can't wait to get back there and try out more seafood offerings at this place.
I order dozens of Lobsters & Oysters from here every Summer shipped to Toronto, Ont. They are The Best, Freshest, Tastiest Lobsters & Oysters. They arrived the next day ! THANK YOU Lobster of the Wharf Can't wait to order again from you and come visit in Person for more of your Delicious Food, Everyone there is SO Nice
The patio view and friendly staff could not be enough to balance the incredibly lengthy wait times for food and the subpar food quality. We got the oysters which were okay; delicious and fresh, but kind of wimpy in size for what they were. We got the fish tacos and while the haddock was alright, the taco itself was overloaded with cheese and lacked flavour save for a kick of spice from the sauce. Was it the worst meal in the world? No (the potato salad side was actually quite good). But would we go again or recommend a friend to go? No. Summary: One star for the patio. One star for the staff. And no stars for the food. You have so much potential to be more Lobster On The Wharf!!
(Translated) Appart the fresh lobster. The rest of the dishes disappointing. Nice place. Super service. (Original) Appart le homard frais. Le reste des assiettes décevants. Belle place. Super service.
Friendly staff, great food, great service. No complaints.
Too expensive
Nothing outstanding.
Had a group upstairs in our own room and had a great time. I enjoyed the fish and chips.
(Translated) Really excellent and the service is perfect This is one of my favorite restaurants during my vacation to Prince Edward Island (Original) Vraiment excellent et le service est parfait C'est un de mes restaurants coup de coeur lors de mes vacances a l'île du Prince Edward
Pricey and overrated. Scallops were wrapped with hotel-microwave bacon?
Great food and so considerate of my allergies. It is always a struggle for me to find a restaurant that has options for me (I am allergic to gluten, nuts, pork, and seafood). The waitress worked so hard to make sure I could have an enjoyable, safe meal. Beautiful views of the harbor as well!
Great staff, helpful and informative.
The night my husband and I went, they were out of oropane and could not make any foods that required a stove. We went for surf and turf and ended up having only their lobster and crab dip, which was very good. We went to another restaurant for surf and turf dinner.
(Translated) The location is great, there is a park next to it, and the restaurant has a large terrace outside, where you can-eat-while enjoying the Atlantic Ocean & sunset (Original) 地點絕佳,旁邊有公園,餐廳戶外有大露台,可以-邊用餐-邊欣賞大西洋海景&夕陽
This review was meant to be posted two years ago in summer of 2017. Read and heard good things about this place. We went in, we dined, food was uninspired and bland. Lobster roll was unimpressive. Our host was making it sound like they were at capacity, so they could just barely fit us in. Would’ve done us a favour if they sent us away. I’m sure others will like this place, ultimately; it’s not for me.
Pretty good seafood place. I liked the option of having to make your own platter of seafood. However, I would prefer the bacon wrapped scallops to be more crispy.
Fantastic. Service was amazing! And had a great view!
Food was good. Server was excellent ( Amanda)
Lobster on the Wharf very good friends of the family got married and had their reception there and the food was Great. Atmosphere was wonderful. Steven Larson has a great spot on the waterfront.
I've waited all my life (we're talking decades) to have my first lobster, caught from the waters of Atlantic Canada and served up fresh. Why? Well being from the prairies I grew up never having it and then as a grown up I vowed that I'd someday do it and do it right. So when me and my friends arrived at LOTW we got seated at a small table (for three men) and so I went back to ask if they had a bigger one. The person that helped reseat us was Jim, the owner. I introduced myself, shook hands and told him basically the same thing. Waited all my life for the real deal and your restaurant tonight is going to be it. Back at our new table it was a busy night and our server was running around trying to serve too many tables. Am sure she was feeling the strain because our service was pretty poor. Just enough time spent to drop things off and take things away. Little attention, little service and a lot of shotgunning her and other passing staff with asks of stuff that had been forgotten. Then the meals came. My friends lobsters looked big and amazing, mine not so much. See the pic below - it was small and shriveled, the last third of it, a deep green. My dinner company was unimpressed. I wouldn't eat that green stuff, my Charlottetown pal said. The first bite was rubbery and tasteless, as was the rest (along with the lobster bisque I had before it). I was able to get about four forkfuls of the tail before all that was left was green. Our server never came back to check on us, so we never had a chance to get a different one. Long, long after the other plates were done the owner came by to ask how my first lobster was. It was alright I said. My buddy chimed in and told the truth. The owner hesitated and then replied that this was how they turned out some times, the green was the roe and that was that. No offer to bring me another, no offer to take it off the bill (it wasn't cheap!), just a brush off of our concern. After a pause of looking at our unimpressed faces, he left...as did we after settling the bill. Two nights later, my local pal went to another restaurant in town and came back with lobster for a second go. Oh man, WHAT a difference!! Moist, succulent, sweet, bursting with flavor and melt in your mouth. Amazing. THAT is what I will tell people was the first lobster in my life. The other one - just plain bad. I'll end this way too-long review with a comparison. I live in near Calgary, in the country. A rural farm-to-table cafe, is just down the road where the owner serves his own farmed beef. If I brought a friend and told him it was my pal's first Alberta steak in her life, the owner would make sure she got a great one. If I asked for that very thing for her, myself, probably even better. Either way, the owner definitely would have told the chefs and almost definitely checked it himself before it hit the table. Mistakes happen. Fixes happen too. But not for this diner. A friendly word to the owner, next time you hear the words 'first lobster ever' - make sure your customer gets a good one.
Last day before closing until May, 2022. So glad to experience. I wouldn't get tye double Lobster meat in Lobster roll. Single serve is fine. Coleslaw tasty. French Fries good as well. Casual dress, not fancy but fairly reasonable price wise.
Was seated and then ignored and place wasn't busy. Average food bad service
Paid 71.00 for dinner for I person left hungry only good thing about the place was my waitress gigi
GREAT PLACE RIDE ON THE WATER"S EDGE....FANTASTIC FOOD!
Seafood was amazing - fresh and simply cooked! We ordered seafood plate, which you can actually build yourself-very convinient
I guess this is a signature place in Charlottetown for lobster. The staffs are very organized, our server is also very welcoming and friendly. He explained everything and did his best to make us feel comfortable in this place. No delay of dishes, good quality, clean place & smart & attentive server at our table, what else I can ask for more? The seafood is always in market price, around $60-70 every two lbs.
Food was ok and service was horrible! The drinks were good.
The McDonalds of all Lobster restaurants in Charlottetown. Food overpriced, portions were too small for price, quality of food questionable and the service was mediocre. We asked for something to come out first, it came out second. Then we sat in between apps for 15 minutes with no drinks or refills or worry about refills. Also, asked for malt vinegar and for the first time in my life the vinegar was brought out in a little cup. (Guess what, it wasn't malt. It was regular.) This place is here and taking advantage of being smack dab right in the middle of the Harbour-front and at the front door step of cruise ships. They are not running this place for return visits. Just to take your money and run! I would not recommend this place to anyone!
Meh.
Located just off of the downtown area with lots of parking and open later than most other places in town, I'd highly recommend it. Many options both food and drink, all looked fresh and our plates were great. Well priced, the fish and chips came with 2 large pieces of fish, very filling. We had an appetizer caesar salad, which was a little dry. Cozy East-coast atmosphere, very professional staff, and a short wait time.
Great experience and excellent service from Brian
Very tasty food, the portions are spot on, the service was fast and the server was very kind, will definitely be back!
Very nice sitting on the warf watching the boats come and go.
Food was awesome . Staff were great
Good service. Food okay
Nice place, small portion, big bill, good people.
I felt we fell into a tourist trap as it was the first Restaurant we tried in Charlottetown. There are many better options with better seafood for half the price in PEI. I would avoid this restaurant.
good location in summer and great food
Great view with delicious food! Had The duo crab and lobster dip which was unreal!!! The server was so helpful and made our lobster dinner experience easy. Would definitely recommend.
Very good costumer service and very tasty food! You can tell the people works here with passion.. our waiter Dave was so nice and friendly and very attentive! The receptionist was very nice too, when My folks complained about being too cold inside coz the AC was blowing right in our table so I asked if we could move outside and she right away check her table set up and moved us outside with a nicer view of the ocean.. :) I was a lil disappointed for not getting a crab leg (my inlaws were craving for crab legs as well, we were lobster out that day! lol) coz dave our waiter said, they don't serve snow crab/crab legs anymore since the demand isn't that high unlike lobster..They tried serving crabs but it was so sad nobody order them so they had to throw them away! :( SO I just order the crab cake with rice pilaf and veggies and it was the most tasteful/yummy crab cake I've ever had! Their food is great and service is good so overall, we are very satisfied.. :)
The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. They were easily able to accommodate my food allergies while still making a delicious meal!
Great seafood, the lobster is especially good.
The crab here was fantastic! Nearly melted in my mouth. The staff were great and my family really enjoyed their meals. Would love to go back more often, too bad it's so far away.
(Translated) I would have given 3.5 The lobster poutine is very good. The correct lobster roll. I was disappointed with my plate of ribs. The accompaniment of vegetables is quite ordinary. I would have preferred my children's meal after all. Probably good for those who go there to eat a lobster. Nice restaurant, nice atmosphere. Beau restaurant, belle ambiance.
Great food, great service! Will definitely be coming back. Thanks a lot for the amazing service and humour Brett!
Busy place. We really enjoyed our meal and the server was good. The best part of the night though was the bus person who really hustled!
Great food,views and service
(Translated) Very nice dinner on the terrace on the water. (Original) Très bon dîner sur la terrasse sur l'eau.
Restaurant was busy and servers seemed to be running around with little time for customer service. We waited for our order to be taken then waited for the drinks and food to be served. The food was good after waiting on hour to get it but the server forgot our utensils and was nowhere to be seen for us to ask for them. Overall a poor experience I would not recommend going. When leaving the hostess said they were short staffed like all restaurants this year I just wish she had told us that going in and we would have chosen not to waist our time. Don't fill your Restaurant if you don't have enough staff to provide excellent service. Seat only the number of tables you can serve well to ensure happy customers!
Very good service and food to match
Fresh nice food.
The lobster roll had the most lobster on it of the places we've tried so far. And the chowder, to die for.
Staff was wonderful, but food was mediocre. Prices are high, but you're paying for location.
Food was okay. A little expensive for what you get. Service was great, very kind.
Great restaurant experience on the water. Sat on their deck built on top of the water. Very unique!! Haddock tacos were excellent & the staff were very friendly & knowledgeable about local history & attractions to see. Would highly recommend anyone to visit this beautiful restaurant.
Quality, delicious food, consistently good! Great staff.
We dined at this location, lobster is priced at $35 at the moment. Lobster mac and chess comes with lobster claw meat only apprently. Seems like that dont put lobster tail in there. Huh. There were flies every where while we dine, and also a bee landed on my food. The server did take care of it by replacing my bread, but the flies were still very annoying till the end of our lunch. P.S. We were the only one dinning at that moment, wonder why.
I'm giving 3.5 for this. Food were not as good as expected. The oyster isn't cold; I'm not sure if that's their style for serving oyster in such temperature. I'm feeling that the Fish & Chips taste better than the lobster... I mean with this price, I expect a little more than this... Our server wasn't that attentive.
Reasonable price.
Delicious food and the service was excellent. Full of jokes making people at ease enjoying there meals even if was messy at times.
Seafood was very fresh service was awesome I left happy and full would definitely recommend
Seafood lover's paradise! I did not walk away hungry. The lobster was succulent and the mussels were very fresh. Looking out on the bay as you ate made it a wonderful experience. A great value as well.
Very nice view and good food!
Very good service, friendly people and great seafood. Can't ask for better.
Hoped for so much more... Staff was great and food was good enough
Food was pretty good but a little to pricey for me
Food is very okay. Relatively bad considering restaurant is in the heart of PEI. Only things going for it are location (nice view of water!) and quick, friendly service. Pricey for what it is.
Our First lobster in PEI, great experience! Very fair price in a premium location downtown Charlottetown!
Great food and even better service!
Amazingly fresh, reasonably priced lobster!!!
The view and location (right on the water) don't make up for the fact that better (in terms of preparation, presentation, and quality) lobster and mussels can be had elsewhere even at lower prices. the sides are particulary bad, bland and served with no effort in terms of presentation. service, while adequate, pales in comparison to the stellar service i have received at other lobster focused restaurants.
beautiful place
I ordered a Lobster Roll from here... It was the worst lobster roll I tasted on my east coast trip. It was either freezer burnt or over cooked. I couldn't tell but it was terrible. Worst part was that it was more expensive than other surrounding places. I would go back here since there are much better place close by.
(Translated) Great food (Original) Excellente bouffe
Very bad experience Very bad food Very bad service Very bad flavour Not come again
Great lobster, great service.
Finally did my traditional maritime lobster supper! It was very good.
My husband did not like the dry fish and ship at all. My lobster was good (hard to miss). We ordered a Pepsi and a glass of wine for the meal, I have to get up in the middle of my meal because we did not had our drink yet. The little waitress was trying to do her best but I think that here is a major organization problem in this place. The good touch, they gave us some blankets because it was cool on the terrace.
Great place ... Loved it !!!
Fantastic service, great food! We got a chowder that made my taste buds happy; it came with a super-fresh bun from a nearby bakery. And the seafood platter was amazing - in both taste and presentation. Unfortunately, it was dark and raining outside, but I am sure that in a good weather the view of the harbour from the panoramic windows - or better yet, from the patio - is nothing short of breathing. Add a local brew to the mix, and you'll a hallmark PEI experience.
Price for lobster made me laugh
The food was amazing
Slow service Food not tasty at all Worst seafood experience in Atlantic Canada
Great little restaurant on the water. The back patio is top notch and the service was really great. We had a tight timeline to catch a charter, but they made it happen.
Great place to go to!!! Our server was awesome and the deck area was a relaxing environment. I recommend getting their fries with lobster meat. It wont disappoint!!! I will be definitely be coming back to this place whenever Im in town! Come here and enjoy it as much as I have!!!
Stopped here quickly for a bite to eat and a quick drink. Food was delicious and the views were amazing. Really enjoyed our time here
Nice people, great place and free parking !
We had the fastest and friendliest service on the island yet! We sampled the crab cakes, fresh veggies, fish and chips and calamari....everything was cooked perfectly, and served promptly by our server Dave. The view was incredible. We have our 3 year old son with us and our sever was attentive to him, quickly bringing entertainment and engaging him with lots of conversation. Totally recommend going here!
Lobster at a good price that's delicious
Great food! Average prices...
Worst food I have ever had I spend $44 on a meal that had to literally not touch, should have known when they brought us the driest bread roll I have ever seen, other people sat down then left, avoid by all means, there are much better options in Charlottetown
Very bad experience in the restraunt staff were ignoring we waited 2 hours for the food the lobster wasn't even cooked properly it was just steamed well a very bad bad experience I'm soo disappointed
My wife and daughter had the lobster dinner, my son had to New York sirloin and I had the fish and chips. Everybody enjoyed the dinner and service was very fast and friendly!
Yum.
Overall mediocre. Kind of disappointed. I had sampler of lobster tail, scallops and crab cakes and seafood chowder. Lobster was tough like over cooked, scallops were very small and soup was lukewarm at best. Husband had burger that came out cold. I was surprised because the restaurant was basically empty at 645 on a Sunday evening, and the reviews were mostly good. Maybe better during high season.
Very good service, friendly, fresh local food
The lobster tasted amazing! Great service and a nice Maritime harbour view.
Great spot right on the water. Food was fresh, tasty and portioned well.
So good! We shared some oysters to start which were amazing. Then went for the 2lb lobster which was absolutely delicious. (Boyfriend had a baked lobster with some kind of mushroom stuffing and said it was very good) Our server was very nice. Will definitely go back next time we are in PEI!
We hosted a large group at Lobster on the Wharf. The food was awesome, the service was fantastic and the location is perfect. Can’t wait to come back.
Great location awesome water view ! The staff is very friendly. Lobsters and steak are very delicious. A little pricey but worth to try ! We loved it so much so went for the second time the day after !
(Translated) Excellent taste of the dishes and very cozy (Original) Excelente sabor de los platillos y muy acogedor
Worst seafood restaurant I have ever been to. Would not recommend it to anyone. Screams tourist all over it and the prices reflect that. Run!
Great food and awesome views from the Wharf. A bit expensive.
Travelled from BC to PEI on vacation. Went to dinner here tonight and unfortunately did not have a good experience. Our server GIGI though polite just wasn’t really there. She didn’t come back to check on us, had to ask other passer by servers for things. Ordered the Lobster mac and cheese, Lobster poutine and the Lobster and Crab dip duo. The duo dips were the best very tasty. The other 2 dishes something was wrong with the lobster. Have been eating Lobster at various places for 5 days straight every day. This was not good lobster. The mac and cheese right on the first bite turned me off as it was very “fishy” same with the lobster poutine, everything but the actual lobster bits were good but each bite of lobster meat that came into our mouth was “very fishy” Fresh lobster should not taste like fish nor smell like it. We know our fish. We were quite disappointed and left all the lobster bits and ate the rest and just got out of there. Location was great with nice views. I just wish the lobster tasted better.
Like other reviews have said, this place is a tourist trap! This was my only bad experience in PEI,98$ wasted for a tiny seafood platter including 2Lobster tails, and got overcooked though rubber.Over priced sea food I don't get why lobster cost so much in PEI? It does not have to be transported yet it cost more than in Toronto.
Came all the way from Windsor Ontario to visit pei. All the locals said this was the best place for a nice lobster dinner. Boy, they were not kidding at all. We started off with the lobster poutine and clams for our appetizer. Never had clams and I fell in love. Everything was presented beautifully as well. I then got the surf n turf with the one pound lobster. First time I ever had a whole lobster. The placemat explained the best way to eat it, thank god. On top of that, the steak was perfectly cooked and was very tender. She got scallops and she never finishes her main course and she didn’t struggle to finish. We then got a carrot cake made by a lady named Karen. Not a single complaint. All staff was friendly and food was delicious. I will be returning and sending anyone who visits pei to this restaurant.
Excellent Mussels and Lobster. Such a mouth watering dinner Had to wait 45 minutes when they weren't real busy but we had a party of 5. Highly recommend this restaurant!!
5 star to the service. Service was great, our server was very attentive and nice, but I had to give one star (it would be zero if there is option) because of the food. So not fresh, undercooked, cold throughout.
Great food combined with a great location. You can eat in or on the patio. PEI mussels are the best.!
(Translated) Beautiful seen. Pleasant service. We arrived a bit late because the mussels were overcooked. The rest very good (Original) Belle vu. Service agréable. Nous somme arrivé un peut tard dinc les moules étaient trop cuite. Le reste très bon
Good food, super nice staff
Excellent food and ambience but pricey
Food was great
Awesome food, even more awesome service. Hannah was the bomb.
Saw David Suzuki here. Food was pretty good. Staff was super nice, too. Loved the back patio that has some great views while you eat. It gets chilly out there in the evening, but the restaurant had blankets and hot chocolate.
Crab cakes should be described as fish cakes that have some crab. They are very tasty though. The halibut was way over priced for what it was and should be described as breaded and pan fried because that is what it is. The side of potatoes that came with it were so cold they didn't melt the butter.
Amazing food and great friendly waitress. Will definitely go back again next time we come to the island.
Short and sweet, the service was good and fast, the food was good, the prices were decent.
Food quality moderate, pricy
Absolutely loved it! A great way to experience PEI- locally sourced seafoods and locally crafted beer and soda. Food is reasonably priced.
Tried the rice bowl which was amazing. The crab cakes and the tacos were good. Dessert menu meant they brought a selection of the desserts to the table for us to choose; something I have never seen anywhere else. Clay our server was great. All in all, a good experience.
A lobster was good but to me the best dish was fish and chips. I am Glaswegian:)
Myself and my partner ate here last week. Even though my full lobster was cooked to perfection my partners meal was horrible. Her steak was tough, and smelled. Clam chowder was runny. Roasted potatoes were dried out. Salads were not homemade thats for sure. There was no one else in the restaurant so this should have been our warning sign. This restaurant had great reviews, so this is why we went. We would not recommend and will not go again. Maybe it was a happening place before Covid, but it sure isn't now.
I enjoyed my meal. staff very friendly. very clean place
(Translated) Busy and quite noisy place. The food is however excellent. The service is spotty but very frendly! (Original) Endroit achalandé et assez bruyant. La nourriture est cependant excellente. Le service est inégal mais très frendly!
Astonishingly good. Enormous surprise. The soup was fantastic. The chowder was very delicious and so extremely rich. really great place.
Service was excellent. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Food was excellent. Really loved how the staff treated my gf on the wharf as we where eating, night started to cool off and they brought her a blanket to wrap herself to keep warm. Very thoughtful. Overall very excellent experience. Will definitely go back again.

Great food
Excellent serve, a little expensive.
(Translated) Very welcoming place, fast service, very fresh meals, limited menu choice. Excellent price / quality (Original) Endroit très accueillant, service rapide, repas très frais, choix de menu limité. Excellent qualité/prix
10/10, very good experience, would visit again
A great restaurant located on the warf with beautiful views of the water. You can inside an look out the wall of windows or eat on the large patio right over the water. The staff were friendly, professional yet down to earth. Great selection of seafood, stuff for children and steaks and chicken for non shellfish eaters like myself.
Excellent accommodation of my food allergies for eggs soy peanuts peas lobster
Amazing food and amazing service
We decided to try the Lobster at this restaurant since their marketing is good (advertised on every single PEI brochure) and absolutely not disappointed. The lobster is spectacular, they will provide all you need to enjoy the food, recommended to try the clam chowder as well (be aware their medium size is actually small size and the large size is ... actually large ;)), bit pricy though. Free parking, outdoor tables, a lobster market where you can have your selected lobster shipped to your home, good cooked lobster, the staff attention, etc. Worth the visit. Recommended
Definetely no complaints here. The service, the food, the drinks, all great. This was an amazing stop on our trip to PEI. Plus getting to sit in a room surrounded by windows with a beautiful view of the warf! This is a highly recommended spot from me!
Really good sea food!
Good good good price friendly people
Very nice, convenient location with excellent seafood options. My wife loved the seafood pot pie. Can't say as I blame here. Chunks of crab, lobster, shrimp, fish and scallops. I thought the haddock was fresh and very good. Nice selection of beers and wines. There is outside seating and also inside accommodations. The staff was friendly and attentive and the prices were reasonable.

Really enjoyed this place. Food was delicious and good portion size. I found it good value for the money with a prime viewing location.
A must stop in PEI. The view captures the true beauty of the island with an outdoor patio on the water and indoor seating lining the many windows overlooking the Charlottetown Harbour. You can taste the freshness of the seafood and the portion sizes are extremely generous. Will definitely return.
Good food busy service.
A bit pricey for me
awsome service and still a nice view in the rain
Good food... service was okay.
Food was decent but expensive
(Translated) It's a local restaurant with lots of customers but (Original) 나름 지역 맛집이고 손님들 많지만 가성비 별로
Seriously the best this place was bomb!
Great food, Great people!!!
Getting the seafood chowder is a must!
Food was horrible and service was worse
Best part of this restaurant is the location with big terrace and French fries are delicious. The rest did not impress us. We ordered lobster roll, fish tacos and Crab cakes (good) fish and chips (greasy), burger (not great). Limited options for non seafood lovers.
Great food, lots of laughs and great service. The servers and food is great.
Such amazing food and very accommodating to celiacs!
Our server was a sweetheart and we didn't wait long for our table or our food. But, our lobster and our mussels were not prepared well at all. Also, it was very overpriced. There's a lot better tasting seafood for a lot less money on the east coast.
Friendly staff and great service from our waiter Dave. The food was cooked perfectly. We had the mussels and lobster. Well worth the price.
Happy with the experience. Food came out fast, the fish and chips were beautifully done and the seasoning on all our food were on point.
Great food and view from the deck. Service was very friendly and attentive. Definately recommend
Fantastic atmosphere, food and service.
This was our first experience, see a live lobster before cook. Friendly and kind waiters. The food was delicious!!!
Excellent service, delicious food and a great ambiance! ????
The pot pie was so delicious !
Very friendly staff who went out of their way. Food was very good and we sat on the upstairs patio which had a lovely view of the harbour.
the food seemed to be overpriced but at least was fresh. Tables were set too close to each other and the noise pollution was horrible. Repulsively discriminatory service led to an unpleasant night. Will not recommend and definitely will not return.
Excellent options to build your own seafood platter.
Fresh lobster- you can taste the difference. But the atmosphere is a bit dingey.
was good food friendly service too
Must eat in Charlottetown
I had a very lovely meal here but it was marred by having been seated in a room that echoed badly and where we had to endure the sound of tables being dragged somewhere to the extent conversation was impossible. It made for a good tasting meal that was not conducive to lingering over. Service was good though.
Greek restaurant great service great food would recommend it to anybody coming to the island
Great service and amazing recipes. Had a great lobster poutine with lots of lobster and cheese as fish tacos that were unique but well done.
The service was excellent, food was excellent and the location is fantastic
My first stop when I arrived in PEI for the first time. Good food, excellent lobster, nice service.
Great meal, waiter was great and service was fantastic
It's located directly on the water and has good options for food and drinks
Nice location with outside seating. The seafood menu is really varied. I'd go again
Quickly seated despite the huge dinner crowd. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Everything was fresh and delicious; lobster was great, and sides (beans and potatoes) were locally sourced. We sat outside on the patio while the sun was setting, and the view was beautiful. A must for a visit to Charlottetown!
The service was wonderful and the food was great. Had the fish and chips and if was delicious.
Nice scenic view on top terrace. Crab cakes fairly bland. Fish taco plate was ok sides of potato salad and coke slaw was enjoyed. Fish and chips were ok. My daughter likes her cheeseburger. Calamari was also fairly good. Service was very good.
Amazing food. Great views and friendly staff!
The Harbour view was fantastic. Perfect location to host a group of any size. Had a wonderful meal with my family. Food was delicious and the service exceptional .
Four of us were visiting from Vancouver, went to dinner tonight and were unanimously disappointed. Tough and stringy lobster tail and cool Lazy Lobster that was not easy to eat and certainly not tasty. The service was fine even though the waiter had many tables to serve. The decor was drab, with thin cheap paper placemats. For this, the prices were high. Not good value at all. We will not be going back when next in Charlottetown.
(Translated) Excellent seafood restaurant. The lobster is delicious, so are the mussels and poutine. The waiters are very courteous and friendly. If you can, take a table on the quay, the atmosphere is really intimate and romantic with a view of the marina. Probably the best seafood restaurant.
Shipped some lobster to my family in Ontario and it got there in 24 hours, just amazing service. Great staff, friendly and true to thier business.
Service was great throughout our dining period. Food was delicious.
Great eating on the sea
Good lobster. My only mistake was ordering a 1lb should have been biger
We went to this restaurant on Saturday night. The food was great and we loved our waiter Clay, but the manager of the restaurant was extremely rude. I will never come here again
Great food, service was excellent all ingredients for a perfect evening.
Good food, super slow service for a large group.
5 days in Nova Scotia and PEI. This is the worst seafood place. Lobster bisque was cold, not even warm. We r not recommend this place.
Amazing restaurant with great food
I have been to the Lobster Wharf on numerous ocassions. Last night was a very disappointing experience. I had the lobster roll and was very disappointed . It was on a hot dog bun and no flavour and tasted no mayonnaise on this roll. My friend had the lobster poutine and commented that the lobster had no flavour. Totally didn't understand since the lobster season just opened. We asked the server why no flavour and he mentioned the lobster was kept in the oven. The service was excellent.
Fantastic. 10 bucks per lobster freshly caught and boiled. Yum.
Everything was delicious!
Amazing seafood and great service!
Great food, fantastic ambiance, amazing service - nice, typical friendly staff!! Prices are a little steep, but you only get what you pay for.....????????
Slightly Above Average Food. Average Service, Over Priced. Compare with everything else had on this road trip. disappointed. much room to improve...
Great food. Friendly staff. You have to get the lobster here obviously, and a patio seat is the best. Definite must when in Charlottetown.
Staff needs training in service. Food is bland and basic.
The food is alright. The clams and mussel is decent. The clam has a lot of sands. So be aware of it. The lobster roll is great but it is not fully loaded. The surf and turf is great too. But not the best I have tried. The service and ambient is excellent
Bought the cooked lobster from the seafood market next door. Nice price and fantastic taste.
Some of the dishes we ordered were great and some others, just okay. But the reason for the three stars is the speed of the service. It was actually not that busy (we visited at around 3:00pm); however it took a looooooooooooong time to get our food and once we finally did, we still had to wait 15 minutes more (whilst our food got soggy and cold) for utensils or condiments we needed to eat that food with. Our server was very nice, but not very efficient. And food was good, but the wait does not make it worth it.
Service and food are great.
Excellent, average price...17. 00 per meal
It was ok. Got a lobster tail with my meal an it was really small. The pasta was boring, but ok.
Two claws up! Our meal was absolutely delicious. The lobster claws and calamari for starters, we had the platter for dinner and a fabulous bottle of wine. Best meal and service I’ve had in ages. Best mussels I’ve ever had!!
The food here was amazing. Wife and I went there for some great local seafood and they had everything we wanted to try. The staff was super friendly and on point. Would go back again.
Tried the bacon wrapped scallops, mussels, and their lobster dinner. It all lived up to my expectations. The lobster was perfectly cooked as was the scallops. Staff were friendly and quick. Couple local selections on tap.
Great view of the harbor and amazing service. It was a little pricy as I ended up paying $49+tax+tip for a 1.5lbs lobster dinner, which was just a lobster with garlic butter and fries.
The food and service was excellent, we had the lobster Mac and cheese, sea food pot pie & seafood chowder which was packed with seafood. Only reason it’s not a 5 star is because of the 40min wait and the restaurant down stairs didn’t look that busy. Worth the wait though!
Great service, amazing lobster :-)
Absolutely amazing restaurant with tasty food especially Sea food! Enjoyed my meal ????
Service was great! Good patio with a nice view. A little expensive for lobster though.
Quality has declined and price increased
AWESOME place to buy fresh lobster. was the best I ever had !! counter staff was super helpful
If you are looking for a family friendly place to eat a good lobster, this is a great place to go. The restaurant doesn't have any fancy pant pretension, it just is a restaurant with a nice view of the ocean. The lobster itself was delicious even if I am not a fan. What came with it was a little less so. The vegetables for instance arrived cold at the table. What really made my experience shined was the service. The guy that served us knew his stuff. He walked us through the menu explaining everything we wanted to know and even helped with cracking up the lobsters for the beginners we were. We didn't have to ask, he proposed and once he had our consent, he placed everything in no time so it could all be easy to eat.
Delicious food and great view. A must try in Charlottetown!
Not the best lobsters but decent enough. I would eat here again. Happy but not memorable.
Had decent expectations of this place as the reviews seemed good and we also had a 45 minute wait since it was very busy. Positives - the view was amazing, the fish and chips were good. Negatives - chowder was grainy, service was VERY slow (including our server leaving in the middle of taking our order to serve food to another table - she was very friendly but it was obvious that the place was short-staffed, everyone seemed a little frazzled), crab cakes were hard and overcooked and the spices overwhelmed any taste of crab, the potato salad was soupy, veggies were steamed green beans and very bland. We were surprised that the price of the lobster was the same as other restaurants but didn’t include a starter (chowder or mussels). Overall, it was overpriced for not the greatest quality.
Today, I waited some 20 minutes in line only to be informed they were not seating anymore guests as they were full. When myself and another gentleman asked about a wait list the hostess said no she saw no reason to start one we could stand in line on a first come basis. When we asked about how long the wait time was she shrugged her shoulders and said maybe 20 to 30 minutes I took my party of five and left. Clearly they have no clue how to run a restaurant or treat customers I never plan to return
Food was good. Views are great. Lots of seating. We made reservations, good idea!
You need to have lunch or dinner at this Restaurant....the Clam Chowder is to die for...the fresh biscuits...and the bacon maple butter to go on them is amazing...the prices are great for being on the Island...Please enjoy your meal on the water ....a 5 for me...hope you enjoy...also a fish market attached????
Excellent no complaints.
First and last time I am a new England native And thus was horrible Seafood 260$ worth of crap Do not recommend! !!!!!!!
Outstanding food and service. Great location on the water.
Fabulous!!! A must when in CHARLOTTETOWN
Good food, good service!
Very bad service. TOO LATE to get the food more than an hour and half while we were almost alone in the place. Careless server. Food was below normal. Very expensive for the quality served.
THE PLACE for Seafood in Charlottetown!
(Translated) Nice restaurant and fresh seafood (Original) Resto sympa et fruits de mer frais
(Translated) Lobster roll was delicious but overpriced for what you get. In Souris the lobster is cheaper. (Original) Lobster roll war lecker, aber zu teuer für das, was man bekommt. In Souris ist der Hummer günstiger.
We dined at this restaurant while in Charlottetown this summer. The outside patio is beautiful with an amazing waterfront view. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They offer assistance on how to eat a lobster if you have never done so. Food was well prepared and reasonably priced. Family friendly establishment or a great date night spot!
Good food, friendly staff
Waited Waited Waited We sat at our table and no one came and gave us water or took our order for 25 minutes. When leaving, the manger asked if we love our meal... We left telling her we never got served.
Had high expectations but the overpriced lobster fell short. Pretty bland and lacked anything really, feeling like it was just a boiled lobster... Lobster tail was okay but if your lobster is in the name of the restaurant, expectations will be high. Plus side: dog friendly, on the actual patio with a view. Oysters were good.
Very friendly staff, beautiful view from inside and on patio. Menu with lots of items for lobster lovers and several options for other dishes. Everything came cooked well and with little delay, dessert and coffee was also very good. Would definitely recommend.
Love the place and their food is amazing and reasonable price!
Mmmm fabulous lobster poutine, Wife loved her Lobster meal and the polite staff assisted her In figuring out how to split the lobster properly. Perfect way to end our vacation in PEI, thanks again for the great meal.
The fish was good
Tasty fresh oysters and chowder. And a great view of the Charlottetown harbour.
It’s really delicious and fresh. A little bit high price.
We decided on lunch here based on a local recommendation and were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and great hosts and you cannot beat the location outside on the patio on the water! The restaurant has a good kids menu (love that there is a healthy steamed veggies side option) which was key for us with two children under 9. Highly recommend the tomato vegetable soup and the haddock tacos and the Caesar salad with lobster was equally amazing.
Overall, everything was fine. Nothing exceptional either way. Expect a slow service though, so either being good company or bring something to do or read during the downtime.
Good service. Good food. Good expreience over all.
We were very excited to go to this restaurant when we arrived in Prince Edward Island. While my husband‘s dinner was adequate. My lobster was so bad I couldn’t even eat it and it’s in my embarrassment I had to take it out of my mouth as the taste of rancid oil on both the lobster and the shrimp was so bad I had to send my dinner back. Because I couldn’t and didn’t want to risk having seafood that was bad, I ordered chicken. My husband had almost finished his dinner before I got my chicken dinner. Well the weather was apologetic no consideration was given to the fact that this very high priced restaurant had basically destroyed our dinner because my husband and I ate at different times. By the time my chicken arrived my husband had finished eating. The rice and vegetables were cold and tasteless and the chicken was sparse. When we receive the bill it was for the full fair. Again for rated five star restaurant with prices consistent with that rating one would think that some discount would’ve been given for the consideration in the fact that I had to spit out my food. Nothing. When we told the waiter our thoughts, he said that he had told his manager and the manager said not to give us any compensation. The waiter went back and talk to his manager and we spent five minutes listening to the manager tell us that the waiter told him my lobster tasted metallic. At no time did we say that. He wasted our time, at no point was he apologetic for the experience we had and seem to be more concerned about the lobster and shrimp being metallic then he was about our experience At his restaurant. He added insult to injury. This was a high price meal. I wish I had of gone to a local low class restaurant that serves seafood and we probably would’ve had a better meal, better service and experience. If you’re in the area avoid this place at all costs. The waiter was awesome but he took the hit for the manager and the horrible food.
Lobster wasn't fresh on the day we visited
Very lovely place! The staffs are very friendly and our waiter even showed us how to crack open the lobster! I highly recommend it
Great view awesome food
Good food and good deal.
Great
Excellent is not enough, this was sublime. The partner thinks we're eating this every day while on vacation...
We enjoyed the most delicious Seafood Chowder on the beautiful outside deck overlooking the harbor. The service was supreme and I have absolutely no complaints!
I try to visit twice a yr...
Watched Canada Day fireworks from the outside deck a few years ago.
Tony is amazing, we had a great time and the food was delicious!
Food was amazing
We enjoyed sitting outside, but the food was so-so.
Deck was a pleasant experience & the food was 4 out of 5
We had two lobster dinner at the wharf. Unfortunately the meals were terrible. Very bland! Very Pricey! We would never go back. The only positive experience was the serving staff.
This is the best place I've been to In all my experience in PEI
OK did and a very convenient location. A bit touristy.
We came here on a family vacation & what an absolutely amazing restaurant. The lobsters were to die for, seafood chowder was delicious. The most memorable part of this experience was our waiter Tony. He went above and beyond to make our experience fun and definitely something we will not forget. Alot of servers could learn from him :-)
Last meal in PEI on the last day of our vacation. And we couldn't have been happier. My husband ordered the seafood chowder. I'm not a chowder fan, however he insisted I needed to try it. Wow is all I can say! Bryan our server brought an extra roll that I happily used it to sop up some of the broth. It's a must try! Next up he had the seafood pot pie. It was topped with a mouthwatering puff pastry. I had my standby meal....lobster roll. I was not disappointed! Be sure to go during the summer months....Bryan said they get cruise ships in on a daily basis. How exciting - people from all over the world popping in while you enjoy the incredible view and amazing food.
(Translated) Very good seafood! I ate shelled oysters, mussels, clams and a lobster tail. Succulent!! Well located, near Charlottetown harbor, the room at the back lacks a bit of atmosphere. The service is excellent and quick.
Great lobster rolls. Had to try one
Nice place warm atmosphere it was too dark but the view should be lovely outside. I had the smal chowder very nice and taste and above all I had the steamed lobster you can choose the size and they provide you all the tools and even the instructions on the mat. The price fair and honest.I raccomebd this place.
Excellent service! Fish and chips as well as lobster roll were delicious. Wonderful view . Definitely worth going to! !
(Translated) I had the fish and chips and it was very good. Good place for lobster. Good drink too. (Original) J'ai pris le fish and chips et c'était très bon. Bonne place pour le homard. Bon drink aussi.
Nice location. The service was good and so was the food.
Lobster was terrific, service most pleasant - a great dining experience.
Great seafood with very good service!
Great seafood restaurant
Mussels were too small, and the service was not the best. We wanted to eat outside but they placed us inside. I insisted to go out and a lady told me that it was cold. I still insisted and she asked me if I had a coat. Believe me that it was not needed, the day was very nice.
Delicious.
Great CS and the food delicious and fresh.
Not what I expected - nothing special about the food.
Tasty seafood and absolutely wonderful service from Brian and some other staff. It's an amazing restaurant and there is a beautiful view. Would definitely recommend this place.
Terrific oysters, lobster rolls & excellent service!
Brian was an amazing server and the food was delicious
Great place for seafood, you can't miss the lobster there.. The best around... Great atmosphere, great beer... A little pricey but you get what you pay for, good quality food.
Very good service and delicious food.
BEST fish and chips I have ever had in my life! And I am 57 lol! We have tried fish and chips everyday while visiting Eastern Canada and without a doubt this is the best! Thanks Chef Paul! Excellent staff, friendly and helpful
Great seafood and location.
Had lunch here with my adult son the other day. It was a nice experience and the food was enjoyable. The lobster was quite pricey (market rates) so we split one 1 1/4 lobster and fish and chips, and it was enough food for us. Service was ok, but no better than that. It was a nice experience but not one I’d be inclined to repeat.
We drove from Ontario for Canada day so we had to have lobster and were very happy we chose lobster on the wharf. The lobster and mussels tasted amazing and our server Andrew was very attentive and took great care of us, we will be back
Lobster is over priced, but I can understand this is a tourist place. Our waitress has great attitude, I'm very glad we didn't have that terribly rude waitress serving us who is serving the table beside us. Clams were great, beer still good. Rest of seafood... average food with premium price.
I'm usually not a chowder or bisque fan but they were really really good here. I would go here just to have those again. The lobster was good. The crab cakes were not great but that could just be me as I'm also not a fan of crab cake and have never had a crab cake I've liked. The staff were really professional and friendly.
Fantastic lobster
Amazing experience.
Excellent service all around, beautiful establishment with delicious food. I would highly recommend. We sat on the outdoor patio on a georgous day and truly enjoyed it!
Had a delicious lobster dinner experience here the other day! Our server Dave, was a phenomenal waiter, he showed us how to eat the lobster as we never have, and was super helpful with everything, even telling us how fresh the restaurant keeps the lobster till the last minute so we can get the beet experience! Great place to eat and extremely friendly staff!
Yummy!
1 lbs lobster really does not cut it for the price,
Love there fresh lobster and mustard pickles
Excellent atmosphere, Right close to the ships docking. Food was delicious and the people were excellent. If I'm back on this cruise again, I'll be back
Summary: restaurant is open only 5 months a year because locals don't eat there. That should say it all. In case it doesn't, here is a more in-depth review: Pretentious and overpriced with no reason to be either. My lobster mac and cheese at $35 had more lobster paste than actual lobster and contained bits of shell. The manager (who was also apparently our server and enjoys talking about himself) scoffed at us on multiple occasions and is a Trump supporter. Decor is tacky and old fashioned in a bad way. Go here only if you want the true tourist experience of being exploited. Two stars only because the food is edible.
Fresh affordable seafood to cook at home if you have an apartment
Food was delicious and services were good. The sea food platter was very nice.
Food and service were great
To costly. Food not that good for the price.
We had a good view of the wharf from the second floor patio. Our server was more than happy to speak with us about the island and our home town
Some of the best fish and chips
Went for a visit Staff super friendly. Good prices. Good food
Overpriced for what you get. Staff was friendly and service was fast and efficient, but, there are less expensive options that are more delicious. We had the lobster roll and the lobster mac and cheese. The roll was not very good while the mac and cheese was just ok.
Yummy Lobster and Amazing Food. Service was slightly slow ( They were constantly missing cutleries )
Nice people, great food, if a bit on expensive side
Excellent place with great staff.
(Translated) A lobster roll as we like it, with big pieces of tasty lobster. (Original) Un lobster roll comme on l'aime, avec de gros morceaux de homard savoureux.
Ok restaurant. Ok food.
This is the only restaurant we visited during our trip to PEI and I am very disappointed. Fish soup was not good enough, salmon was the size of 2 fingers, very small, but poutine with crab was good. Server did not smile and had a bad attitude. Don't recommend this place
Lobster poutine was delicious.
We showed up around 2pm. Beautiful location right next to the water. Patio outside. They were not too familiar with celiac but I was able to find some seafood safe to eat. Great service and food!
This is not a cheap restaurant but it's well worth the spend. I paid the same as a restaurant in Shediac and this was by far more delicious and nice. Kudos to our server Andrew who was very attentive and who recommended me the Wharf Burger.
(Translated) Very nice place, but too much expensive for lunch. More than 100 $ for two people. Very nice place, but over $ 100 for two people and for a lobster tail not very big and 4 scallops for dinner is much too expensive ... Prohibitive! That probably explains why the restaurant was empty! (Original) Very nice place, but too much expensive for lunch. More than 100$ for two people. Très belle place, mais plus de 100$ pour deux personnes et pour une queue de langouste pas très grosse et 4 pétoncles pour le dîner c'est beaucoup trop cher... Prohibitif! Ça explique probablement pourquoi le restaurant était vide!
Starting with the ridiculous price, we felt scammed. $157 for two lobsters of a little under 2lbs and two Corona beers? I checked the marketplace prices and there is no way a lobster of that weight could cost $70 each. It was also an OK lobster, not excelent or different. And the table smelled. We had to sit inside because of the wasps, acc to the person who welcomed us there. I would suggest asking for the price of your dish before ordering.
We went there because it was suppose to be the best place to eat in P.E.I...we are touring the Maritimes for our honeymoon. When we got there the waiter took forever to even greet us. Got our food it was pretty blah but the waiter he didn't even talk to us once or even asked us how the food was. He walked around talking to everyone else only glancing at us a couple times but that was it. Terrible customer service!!
Highly recommended ????????
This place is just wonderful especially on a bright sunny day. The patio is on the pier and you can over look the water while drinking an ice cold beer! I had the lobster and it was fantastic! The staff was so friendly and polite, I truly felt like a valued customer. There a wee bit of parking out on front. The deco of the place feels like a rustic and wooden cabin that's by the ocean. A magical atmosphere to say the least. Probably one of the best highlights in food on my first trip here. Stay safe out there people and be kind to one another!
Another typical maritime restaurant with cooks not chefs preparing meals and charging top dollar for totally unimpressive and tasteless food. Small portions with NO presentation skill at all. The person preparing this food is NOT a chef and can never call him or herself a chef! At best they learned from their mothers or on the internet! It is shocking! People in Vancouver do not know how spoiled they are!!!
Wonderful experience!!!!
Awesome view of you choose their patio! Their lobster and crab dip was outstanding and overall experience was great!
Lobster on The Wharf is a perfect seafood restaurant right on the water and boardwalk. The view from both the interior and patio are beautiful, it really provides a great view to look at while eating. The food is amazing, the seafood tastes super fresh, and as well the drinks and sides are great. The platter is a great option for trying a bunch of different types of seafood and they come with sides. The fries are one of the best in terms of fresh and flavour. The service was also Very great, all our needs and demands were taken care of. Very much recommended!!
Great food and service
(Translated) Pleasant dinner at the edge of the water, in front of a liner. Excellent lobster. (Original) Dîner agréable au bord de l'eau, devant un paquebot. Homard excellent.
Great seafood restaurant. Lots of menu options and a beautiful location. Service was great.
We waited our food for about an hour. And half an hour more for dessert and check
Best bacon wrapped scallops was the best I ever had plus the rest was excellent also!! Service was excellent and it's a nice spot!!
Service was good and the view is great but the food is mediocre and over-priced. I ordered the bacon wrapped scallop burger and there were only 4 small scallops on it, a slice of lettuce and 1 small tomato slice!!! The lobster bisque soup was delicious though.
Sooo fulllll soooo happy best seafood in the east
A very nice meal and wonderfully friendly service
5/5
We had an excellent meal that was well prepared and delicious. The service was fantastic and friendly. I would highly recommend!
Fabulous food, views, and service (after all, it's Canada).
(Translated) Cool; unimaginable mussels; and the lobster the best. The wine for excellent pairing. Just wow (Original) Genial; mejillones inimaginables; y la langosta lo mejor. El vino para maridaje excelso. Simplemente WOW
First lobster in PEI. Steak was good service was great. Prices were premium so we only ate here once.
Very good seafood restaurant with an even better location. Views of the harbor and the park outside. Good drink selection and the food was really good. I had a build your own plate with crab cakes, bacon wrapped scallops, and a grilled lobster tail. The crab cakes were my favorite. Scallops were delicious, but smaller than I expected.
Great food, great service great view
The food here is amazing. Our server Clay was so funny and personable! The pricing was very fair. The carrot cake is exceptional.
Server was the very best ever. It's definitely a happy place to eat lunch or dinner. Greatly recommended to everyone.
Aweful fried clams
Big time tourist trap. Not very good food or service. Much better out there in PEI.
Great food, great view
Attended here the other day for a lobster roll. I took it as take out but ate it outside the restaurant. It wasn't flavourful at all. Very bland. I won't be back.
Cheap and nice view
Good food but Lobster is pricey
Tourist trap with lousy food. We had the seafood platter which included: (1) “grilled shrimp” that were not grilled, tasteless and small; (2) crab cakes that tasted like tuna and not at all like crab;(3) mussels which were decent but without any sauce or additions. The seafood chowder tasted okay but had little to no seafood in it.
Great Lobster Roll
(Translated) Good food, very good service, nice place. $ 95 for 2 lobster 1 1 / 2lb is exaggerating. (Original) Bonne bouffe, très bon service, bel endroit. 95$ pour 2 homard 1 1/2lb c'est exagérer.
Great food
Had a great time with the family. Nice fresh seafood
Great service, serving size was smaller than expected
(Translated) The bread was not fresh, the meatballs a little dry, the rondelke cold tomato, unmelted cheeseburger cheese. I had trouble digesting my meal. (Original) Le pain n'était pas frais, les boulettes de boeuf un peu sèches, la rondelke tomate froide, fromage du cheese burger non fondu. J'ai eu de la difficulté à digérer mon repas.
Good food but high prices better places near by
Great location, service and food. Remember to take a reservation.
Food was very good but we ordered the scallop dinner and we received 5 scallops for $27. Very disappointing for the price.
Great for large groups! We currently have 70 people and it is fast service!
(Translated) Generous dish, value for money very good! The lobster is cooked to a point, I recommend! (Original) Plat généreux, rapport qualité prix très bon ! Le homard est cuit à point , je recommande!
Over priced.
I don't recommend, quality vs price is not good!! Staff are very friendly!!
This place offer your very own choice of seafood combo platter which was amazing and absolutely delicious. Our server was hilarious and engaging which added to the fun of our meal. And oh yeah...the view of the harbor ain't too shabby either.
Nice view and good food & service....
Food was great, Dave was the best. Hand sanitizers ran out, they didn't refill in time.
Terrible experience. Went there with my mom to try some PEI seafood. First of all, the servers did not have a great attitude, no smile and slow. Secondly, steamed clams were not fresh, two out of a dozen were dead before cook, which brought smelly taste to all. And I told the waiter the problem, he just said "Sorry about that" and without any solution. Until I saw the bill with 10% deduction on the steamed clams, which is like a dollar and something. We also ordered a steak, I requested median rare but it came with a way more tougher texture, hard to chew. And last thing, the FLIES were so ANNOYING! They were flying towards people and food, kept distracting us from eating and not clean at all! Won't come back and won't recommend anyone to go!!!
Correct.
Ended my trip out east while eating our last meal here and I would say that it was a big mistake. All our food was tasteless and terrible. The soup had no flavour and was missing salt and pepper. The oysters weren't shucked properly which left sand in them. The Burger was terrible. Calamari was tasteless. The only reason for 2 stars was that the waiter was extremely nice and professional. You can tell he knew the food wasn't good as he probably asked us about 10 times if the food was good. Sadly, I wouldn't recommend this place.
Very expensive
It is a bit pricey but the food is very good. Servicr is reasonable. They also have a little seafood market that you can buy there or ship it to other provinces.
This was a disappointment. Our server was polite/well mannered and is in no way responsible for the food - unless he is doubling as the cook! We had two orders of steamers (can't mess that up), one lobster bisque (fair), one burger (crumbly bun, untasty patty), one lobster roll (minuscule portion of lobster/majuscule portion of lettuce), and one order of panko'ed whole clams. The bisque was fair - good presentation with claw meat on top, although the bisque itself was sparse on flavor. The whole clams, regrettably, tasted of spent fryer oil. Not one single bite did I notice any clam flavor. Uncle & father-in-law had subpar dishes. Dad stuck with the steamers and was satisfied. Outrageously, the meal exceeded the cost of ours the previous night at the substantially superior Brickhouse restaurant. I'll bet this place can do better.
Had late lunch with friends who live here in PEI, had seafood platter. What a disappointment 3 small scallops, 2 skewers of shrimps (small), 1 small lobster tail. Food was cold and the butter was not hot. For $60. What a total waste of time and Money. Had better Seafood platter in Ontario. Try another restaurant.
The mussel appetizer was very good. Unfortunately nothing else measured up. We did have a nice server which is why this review is getting a three, but unless you are there to enjoy the view or looking for the closest meal off the cruise ship don’t bother. I sure didn’t notice any locals eating here.
We ordered the lobster meal that for two. We each had 2 pounds of lobster and we shared the mussels entree plus 2 sides each. Our waiter Clay was attentive as well as the other wait staff. It was an enjoyable and delicious experience.
Great fish and chips along with the best view in town and very good service. I would come back.
(Translated) Correct quality without more ... On the other hand the quay above the water for dinner is very nice (Original) Qualité correcte sans plus... Par contre le quai au dessus de l'eau pour dîner c'est très sympa
Great food with a great view.
Great place to start your vacation. Staff are helpful, funny and treat you like family
Tony was the best server I've had! Lobster was great.
They were super helpful to our large party of 7. Even when something didn’t go right they really made it better for us. Great food and staff.
(Translated) It is very delicious. (Original) 정말 맛있어요.
Friendly staff. Restaurant was nothing fancy. I’m not sure what I was expecting but it wasn’t like a big chunk on lobster. I got the lazy lobster and wouldn’t recommend, my husband got the lobster Mac and cheese and would recommend. It was good to try while we were there
Our first stop on PEI and it was fantastic! My husband got the lobster roll and compared all other potato salads to this one. My mussels were good, slightly overcooked.
Great experience in eating decent whole lobster in Charlotte town instead of in Kevendish. Price similar.
(Translated) Very good (Original) Très bon
The food was disgraceful. The chicken was so dry and overcooked, I had a small piece of gravel imbedded in one of my potatoes and the dessert way overcooked and dry. With no cream or icecream. Would never recommend
I recommend to anyone to find another place to eat. I did not have lobster here, but considering my experience with other dishes, I'm sure it's barely average. Oysters - poorly shucked with shell pieces on the meat. Fried clams - rubbery like bubble gum, and drowned in bread crumbs and grease; from entire clams dish there is only one third clams and rest is bread crumbs/batter and grease. Chowder - worst I've ever had on PEI, Nova Scotia or New Brunswick - too much flour or starch, it's just average. It is not served with bread or anything else, which made it worse. The only good things were the potatoes and beans, those were quite good. Service is OK. My wife also had scallops and those were good. Edit: we did mention the issue about oysters to our server and did mention that the food was just OK. We are not the type to complain to a manager. However, I frequently call the manager to express my joy and satisfaction with the food and service when it is deserved. This was not the case.
So delicious and a great spot. A little pricey but the service is fast and friendly and the lobster is fresh
The food did not disappoint and the seating on the wharf provided fun viewing of the harbour seals for my boys.
Very bad experience The food was very late , cold and tasteless. The waiter was not polite enough to apologize, and no one cared to compensate us for any of this. I do not recommend at all
Awesome service! Excellent view of the water and great food!
This place was good af, the lobster poutine was fantastic.
Pros: good view, good service, good music. Cons: overpriced for the portions they serve. E.g.: the cheeseburger had the same size beef patties as a fast-food burgers. About $15 (Canadian) for fast food burgers? No thanks.
My first east coast lobster meal and can't wait to come back again
Really good the lobster soup and the sandwich. Also the price is good. The service was very good as well.
2 lb lobster at the Keg in Vancouver...$58.00. 2 lb lobster at Lobster on the wharf in Charlettown PEI... $59.00.. Go figure !!! We ordered them anyway and they were grand. Great location and service. My 87 year old mother tied into one with a vengeance, claw cracker flashing... she didn't come up for air until it was almost done! Bread Pudding with a brown sugar sauce is excellent as well. Lovely lunch ! P.S. The waitress talked us into trying the liver. Although we were somewhat hesitant, we gave them a go. They tasted like the fresh ocean smells...fabulous.We were very appreciative for the recommendation.
Great food
I ordered on the patio under constant assault from wasps, I ordered a combo meal with 5 bacon wrapped scallop, 10 shrimp, and a strip steak maybe 8 oz. if that, With a small side Cesar. The presentation was as expected except the steak was not even warm for being cooked medium well, a little tough for that. It was not seasoned and lacked flavor and I wasn't offered any steak sauce etc.., also the onions and mushrooms were also cold and lacked flavor even after adding pepper. The scallops were not worth the price either as they were cooked ok but again served too cold and undersized, could say it was sitting somewhere awhile, bacon wrapped it still lacked any flavor even with bacon wrap. The shrimp I was also shocked about, it was cocktail size just slid into a scewer, I couldn't tell if they were even cooked as they were cold also as if a cocktail shrimp with additional cocktail sauce, not that great at all, again literally no flavor like a frozen cocktail shrimp would be. The server noticed I was fighting wasps but just said good kill as many as you can to help out, lol and never offered to move me or offer assistance, or help me. just brutal, and after all that I just worked with the salad which was rubbery like it was the only thing that received heat lol. Again the Cesar lacked any flavor just very bland. I eventually received a bill for this mess $76.46 !!!!!!!!! I'm one person and the server didn't even look at me when the bill came. He just added all items as full price as sides with no discount like the combo should be. It's ridiculous! I even gave them a tip after all this for some reason and will never return to this restaurant ever again! I recommend not going here !!! as it seems they just take advantage of the cruise ship passengers and don't really run this place professionally as a reputable restaurant.!!! I could go to the keg for a steak, then red lobster for all you can eat shrimp and have change left over compared to this bill. Plus the food would be 10 times better !!!
Pricey and slow service food is just average
