You will see all the information of people who purchase the services and products of Hopyard (Restaurant) around Charlottetown area (Canada).
As of day the business has a rating of 4.6 over 5 and the rating is based on 127 reviews.
As you can see the average score it has is virtually the top, and it is based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we may say that the valuation is quite accurate. If people have bothered to rate when they are happy with the service, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to put feddbacks when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant belongs to the category of Bar.
Great place, the food was good. Very cool menus. Different every time I've gone
Best burger i had in a very long time and it comes with a vinegar dipping broth that was perfect to compensate the fat bacon flavour???? the chicken wings was also delicious ???? i ate so much because it was so delicious couldn’t sleep for 3 hours after the meal!
Excellent food compliments the great selection of beer on tap! Menu changes every 2 weeks leaves you waiting for whats on the next menu but sad to the current menu leave!
Good craft beer selection. Our group alsp had wings, the tater tots, and some sort of deep fried cheese. Everyone really enjoyed the food. Really nice atmosphere.
Great experience here! Friendly staff and lots of beers on tap. Recently got to try their candy apple wings which were super good. A reminder that the menu changes every two weeks so check online to see what they’ve got!
Food was unique and absolutely delicious! Taylor, our server, was attentive, pleasant and timely. We will definitely be back!!!
The menu is always different (to a degree), so you'll have to try it yourself :) They'll always have a rice dish and chicken wings if you're scared to venture outside the normie realm. Offers gluten free, spicy and vegetarian dishes.
Food was delicious obviously both occasions. Nice to have a selection of craft brews.Played the album I picked out????????It was TATTOO YOU????
This is a great little pub with a unique twist! Nice selection of beers to choose from, but not too big of a list that you can’t figure out what to drink. They change the menu every two weeks, so the dishes are really quite cool. Food was top notch for pub food and unique as well. They also play cool vinyls on their record player. I’ll be coming back for sure!
Hopyard is always a cool experience, I always get the fries when I go because they're always unique and exciting. A good place to hang with friends or even hit up solo.
Awesome atmosphere. Delicious food and the menu changes a lot, but that only means more great things to try. Everything is $8 each on ther menu. Service is always perfect. And of course the beer! Try them all.
Wish I could give this place a 6/5!!!!! The Howard is awesome. They let you pick your own vinyl and put it on. We put on the Pretenders. We also got pickled broccoli as an app and it was delicious.
Interesting selection of beers from PEI and "off the island" too. Very friendly staff who were helpful with suggestions of the local brews to try. Very relaxed atmosphere, and it was fun to poke through their vinyl collection!
Had the fish on a stick, delish! Great selection of unique beers and an awesome atmosphere ☺
Delicious food. Amazing selection of vinyl LP records and music. Highly recommend going here if you enjoy good food and good music.
Service is awesome, food is fantastic and consistent in quality every time I come here, and the tunes are great. One of my new favorite spots to eat and chill.
I love the rotating menu, they provide good vegetarian options as well if you don't eat meat. There's always a lot of beer variety on tap supporting Island and maritime brewers
Vegan food is amazing!! My mom and I shared samosas, general tao broccoli, pad thai fries and the earth candy burger which were all soo good with great flavours. 4 dishes is the perfect amount for 2 people. The restaurant has a great atmosphere along with the staff. I love the always changing menu aspect and wish I had something like this in my hometown!
Great place, fast service, friendly stuff. Really had fun!! Definitely suggest it!
Best place in town for local brews and amazing eats! The owner and bartender was extremely inviting and chatted with us about our travels. Loved the atmosphere and options for playing/buying vinyl! Can’t wait to visit the Hopyard again!
Excellent beer and the small plates menu is awesome! The staff offer excellent service and are highly knowledgeable about their offerings. Not to mention, if you dig music they have a huge vinyl collection which you can freely look through and they'll even play whatever you want!! This place gets two thumbs up!!
I've come for two of their burger love burgers and they don't disappoint. The food & service is amazing. I can't give 5 stars just because the atmosphere is just not for me . I don't like the table settings. Only half is cozy bench and the other side is bar stools.
This is place is good if you are looking to eat burgers and fries. We placed order for veggie burger and chicken sandwich. Unexpected veggie burger was so tasty, the patties was made of lentils and was cooker so good. Will prefer to visit this place, it’s worth it.
Amazing service, amazing beer and really really good food. The perfect place to stop and get a buzz
Food is always delicious, but if they ask if you want mayo with your sweet potato fries keep in mind they charge $2.00 for a small side of mayo. I've never been anywhere where sweet potato fries didn't come with a dip, and I understand charging for an extra one, but maybe try telling people that you charge almost enough to buy my own bottle of mayo from the grocery store.
Hopyard is out of this world. If you go, you need to order the tater tots, the wings, and the spring rolls. Atmosphere is awesome, and craft beers on tap. So impressed with this little gem! Would come back in a heartbeat.
This was great! Beer was good. Food was amazing. Venue was very clean. Service was perfect. If we’re ever back in PEI. We’ll be back for sure.
Amazing, flavourful food at great prices. Great service. Offering Vegan, Vegetarian and Omni options.... allowing friends and family to eat together if they have different lifestyles/diets. We'll definitely be back as well as recommending to others.
Great selection of local beers (PEI as well as Nova Scotia and New Brunswick). Cool atmosphere, friendly service and really great, tapas style food.
Great selection of different local beers, very cool place. Very accommodating for allergies and really cool rotating food menus with vegan options. We went there 3 times in our 9 day trip!
The best mac and cheese I have ever had and My experience with the cheesy delicacy is quite extensive. The ruby beer is not good though. The spring rolls were okay. Portions very small in my opinion
Unreal for food and service. They even had beer from some little place in Halifax. Chicken and waffles were great. Very spicy.
I had the chopchop salad because I wasn't very hungry. It tasted fresh, had balanced flavors and was nicely presented. It was highly recommended by my local friends.
Great place with an ever changing menu of food and craft beer. One price for any menu choice. Portions are snack sized - perfect for a light meal. The food menu is evenly balanced between vegan and meat options. Staff are accommodating with good service.
Amazing food, great music (+100 records to peruse). Clean bathrooms. Debit machine.
It is a nice spot. Food is fair.
Great beer selection, food portions on the small side. Unique food options. Love the vinyl selection, bar will play whatever album or song you select.
I went with a group of 4 and we got most things on the $8 menu. Every single dish was above-and-beyond scrumptious. Get the fried cheese. Get the corn. Get the ribs. Get the corn dog. Get it all if you can. The service was great, the flights of beer were on pointe, and I would have stayed all night with that music and vibe. We almost went back a second night because the scotch eggs were calling our name.
The menu changes regularly, so it's never boring. Always has vegetarian options, wings, ribs, and fries. Great beer selection, but the food is the star.
I ordered onion soup chicken wings . The best wings ever !!! Beer was ice cold and atmosphere welcoming. Great Service too!
Great place to eat and hang out with the locals. They had a live band Saturday night and the atmosphere was fantastic! $9 for anything on the menu and drink specials. My only grievance was the portions were a little smaller than the waitress said but it was good value none the less. 100% would return.
Never disappointed after eating there. Monthly menus offer lots of variety and good reason to keep coming back. Food is very well priced (starting at $8 per entree) and they offer lots of vegetarian options, and can cater to glutton free or vegan diets as well.
Great place. Great beer selection. Love the menu. Pretty loud environment though
Exceptional service. Inspired menu of fun and funky small plates. Amazing selection selection of beers and cider. And yes....THERE IS VINYL. Lots of vinyl. A human infused juke box , DJ'd by the staff.????
This place was exceptional. The food was outstanding and the portions were not tiny for a tapas place. Rotating drafts, a bit pricey, but overall... worth it. And I do not eat vegetarian food, but they had a tofu burger that was amazing! They also allow you to select a record from a record storage area and they will play a side for you. We also have dogs that we tied up outside and the staff brought them water without us asking and kept on going outside and petting them. This is what you save 5 stars for.
A must visit for anyone in the city! Please please go here as they not only have some amazing beers but also great food. Tried all the vegetarian options on the menu and each one of them was unique and super delicious..Highly recommendd!
Great and unique menu, friendly staff. Love how the menu changes every week, love the atmosphere and overall feel to the place that has been created. Would recommend!
Great burgers. Good options for vegan too
Loved this place. Very cool vibe with selection of vinyl and local craft beer. We were there in the early afternoon for the lunch menu and ordered nearly everything on it - how couldn’t you at only $8 each!? Some of the best bar/pub style food I’ve eaten. The server (Lindsay) was also wonderful interacting with our two year old keeping him engaged and happy the entire meal which is not an easy thing to do. She really went above and beyond. For any beer, music or food lover this place is a must visit while in Charlottetown.
Went once for brunch and had a stellar eggs benny, and for dinner, tried the cauliflower tacos and taco salad. Both vegetarian (which I am so not), but they were AMAZING! Service was lovely.
Amazing food and beer, friendly staff. I love the dill pickle dressing they put on the frys, it was delicious…..went a second time and was sooooo impressed
Felt like I'd found the coolest spot in town. Super great menu with plenty veggie options, excellent beer selection, and a rad dude Kevin manning the bar. And records like the Transplants, Greg Graffen, Arcade Fire playing on the sound system. #fun
Great music, great vibe - busy spot for dinner. Incredible food - loved it so much we went to the Halifax restaurant a few days later (sadly, was nowhere near as incredible as the Charlottetown location)
Hopyard is now a Charlottetown staple, always a great selection of beer and ciders plus a food menu that changes monthly to give you new things to try constantly.
Food was great! I'm not much to experiment with food, but when I do their menu is always top notch! Great selection of micro brews on tap but the cider is the best I've had
Excellent food, Awesome beer selection and Fantastic service.....what's not to love? The vinyl on the walls and playing is a great walk down memory lane
Amazing thought I wish they would update their menu more!!! Other than that a Must come restaurant on your stop on pei. Great food great beer!! Local beer too!!
Excellent food, love the atmosphere. Great selection of craft beer as well. menu changes often so don't expect repeat dishes!
This place was the top spot I visited for good beer and lunch. Staff was rad and the food was unique and delicious. The owner chatted me up while he was slow and I felt appreciated. Hopefully these guys make good money because they deserve it.
Loved this place! We were visiting PEI and Hopyard was on our list of places to visit. We went for lunch during the week since we had our 4 year old daughter (you are allowed kids up until 5pm) so it wasn't too busy. Food was excellent, smaller plates so you get to try a couple things of you want. Great selection of craft beer from PEI but also from the rest of Canada. And music, they have a selection of vinyl records that you can choose from and they will spin then while you eat. Lastly the staff was super friendly. Our waiter/ barman (don't know his name but he had a nofx tattoo on his leg) was really nice and very welcoming and made our visit to Hopyard even better.
Great craft beer selection and amazing rotating menu. The plates are smaller but are only $8 and the flavours are spectacular!!
It was ok. Not thrilled with the menu. Very loud. A group of about 10 women having fun, but yellinyand screeching like they were at a sporting event. Wish the staff would have asked them to just take it down a bit. If we had walked in after them, we would have left. Staff was very nice.
If I could give somewhere 6 stars I would. Staff super friendly and great drink selections.
Awful food , awful seating layout . Stools are annoying. You get a small portion for what you pay. This place is your everyday standard hipster bait restaurant. Alot of style but very little substance. The service is fine , wait staff is generally nice and friendly . The food , beer and environment is something to be desired.
Enjoyed our recent visit! The cider and vegan burger on a gluten-free bun was delicious. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about gluten-free precautions as well as dairy free and vegan options.
Great food and good selection of local beers. I'll be back for sure. Dress lightly in the summer months as it gets warm in there!
Perfect place to spend an evening. 1. Delicious fusion small plates 2. Great local beer selection 3. Chill vibe with the continuous vinyl records playing
Great food and ambience.
The best restaurant we've visited in Charlottetown so far. Love they're tapas style menu and really enjoyed the korean/Asian theme they were doing when we visited. The tempura broccoli was amazing, never expected broccoli to be the star of the show! Will definitely visit again.
Relaxed and great atmosphere. Lots of vinyl to enjoy, the food is great, not pretentious it's just what it is and it's done really really well. Great beer and great value. Spot on. Keep up the good work.
This an interesting spot just off the main drag. The food is unique and really good, reasonable portions and definitely good value. Their beer selection is excellent and showcases the best that the island has to offer. I was a little lost by their theme, the vinyl is in a few places but I couldn't figure out if you could request records to play, or if you were just supposed to look at them... The interior was a little dark as well for the middle of the day, but I'm sure it would be much more suited to an evening crowd. Still, a great experience!
Delicious food, with a two week always changing menu I'm impressed with every dish I have. The beer selection is equally as refreshing, overall a great experience for dine in or take out.
I'm not a huge beer enthusiast myself, however my fiancé is, which is why I chose this restaurant to try. There is metered parking outside so we didn't have to walk far. They have lots of options for craft beer on tap and they gave me some samples since I didn't know what to choose. They have a smaller menu, but every dish is less than $10 and the beer was $5 each. They also have vegetarian/vegan options. Very affordable and delicious! Our server was very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was enjoyable as well. We really enjoyed it!
Pros: Awesome atmosphere Great beer Tasty food Fantastic staff Reasonably priced Cons: Music can be a little loud. Difficult to chat to neighbor Overall Great spot. A must visit!
Reasonably priced and well flavored small dishes plus a great selection of craft beers and a great atmosphere. Don't expect to eat anything serious though.
The Curry poutine was awesome! Was definitely a good surprise. and the prices are right. Great selection on tap too.
Outstanding as always. Chef Crawford is one of the premiere culinary minds in PEI. Dynamic menu, big bold flavors with an amazing amount of restraint and balance. Staff are amazing and have fantastic product knowledge. There is a reason we go here for 4/5 of our dining out experiences and are willing to wait for a table on a Tuesday night.
The place was packed but the wait time was super quick. The food is cheap and the changing menu gives me a great reason to return. Food itself was excellent all around
The rotating menu is a bold touch and has us constantly checking to see what's next. The food is consistently GREAT, especially the wings -- my favourite in town. Always a friendly spot, and a good choice for groups of friends who like sharing bowls of delicious food. The beer menu is also wonderful, and the music and art makes it a joy to spend time here.
Great menu, but keep in mind it changes every two weeks. Great beer selection. Chef Jane is a super talent. Lots of vinyl to play.
Amazing spot. Delicious food, rotating beer taps. Reminds me a lot of Bar Stillwell in Halifax. Service was fast and friendly. I liked it so much, I bought a hat!
Such an awesome concept. Good beer, good tunes, good food! Could not ask for more. But as a bonus the service was amazing!
I recently dined here as part of a table for ten. Our service was good, friendly and quick. The food took a little while, but when it came out we were all served in close succession so I could understand why it took time for all ten! The menu was fun- Including some items you likely wouldn’t find elsewhere in Charlottetown. If I go back, I’m trying the ramen dog as I’m told it was a highlight. We had some vegan eaters and some gluten intolerant, and this spot was really good for that. I had the Chicken Sausage Biscuit, which was nice- but one of those handhelds that you can’t really take a solid bite of. It’s built high and excessive in a burger love sort of way. It was delicious, but I had to use a fork and knife to try to get all the flavours at once. It was nice, but I’ll try something different next time. The prices were really reasonable, and the portions were big. We were all too full at the end of it for sure. Getting out of there was slick, billing was easy and fast. The only downside was the seating for 10. It was really an 8 top with the other 2 people on the other side of a pole and sign. I likely wouldn’t book here for another group of that size, as they said its how the always do 10 tops.
Hopyard is a regular go-to for me in Charlottetown. With a rotating local beer selection and frequently changing menu that's always on point, there's no doubt you'll enjoy yourself there. Combine that with a selection of vinyl you can bring up to have spun while you sit, and a killer staff - it's easy to have a good time.
I really enjoyed my time here our bartender was funny and she knew all her beets on tap well. The bar inviting tidy and has a radical space. There is a large vinyl collection in the center of the bar you can select a record and the staff will play a whole side of the album for you. I like this as it keeps you engaged in the atmosphere. I didn't get a chance to enjoy food here but would reckon they do fine in that area. When in Charlotte Town and you like beer I would suggest going here.
Happily surprised and very impressed, I highly recommend Hopyard!! Really tasty local beers, great tunes, amazing snack sized meals - all the veggie options are delicious, and try the Lunchbox wings (PB&J in a whole new way). Seriously good, all around. *Edit - super friendly staff also. Music on point.
Good place to try new foods. Quantities are small. I guess it is a better place to have drinks and small eats. I did the 7 for $60 and tried all the meats. The really good ones were the nachos and the fried rice. The fried chicken had more chickpeas than chicken and I'm not sure why they put spaghetti on a burger... Oh well.
Great small sharing plates and awesome selection of craft beer. They even have a collection of vinyls that you can hand the bar staff to play!
Great dynamic menu. Dishes are always interesting and well presented with intense flavors. Lots of beer choices too, of course.
There’s a more professional way to let diners know that you need to leave by a certain time due to a booked reservation for your table. Being told “you’ll need to eat and leave by 7:30” just doesn’t cut it. Then my young daughter had her small bag on another tables stool and the establishment removed it because they “needed” the stool for a group .... that ended up showing up 30 minutes later. Food was decent and good value however the whole dining experience was ruined for my family.
This may be my favorite bar/restaurant. It has a wide selection of beer and had a totally original menu that changes constantly. Also hosts am inclusive and eclectic crowd. The food here has always exceeded my expectations, which are very high having eaten here several times now.
Vegan option amazing. Poutine my favourite.
This restaurant at first seemed like a the warehouse knock-off from Ontario, however we soon learned that despite the cheap prices the dishes were rather small and you needed to order 2 to make a full meal. I had the club sandwich. This was served with buffalo fries, which my only complaint was that they were a bit soggy. The club sandwich however looked more like a rather depressing chicken burger. Being served between burger buns and only consisting of a piece of chicken, a single slice of tomato, and a single piece of lettuce. Other people at the table had the fancy fries which were soo sweet they could only finish a quarter. Each fry looked to have been rolled in maple glazing. In terms of service they were very slow, we had to wait almost 10min to get our drinks only to inform me that my drink was no longer available (the drink menu was on a chalkboard they hold up so it should have been up to date). At the end of an overall disappointing night, the waitress messed up the bill between me and another person at the table twice. Overall I was unimpressed, there are many other restaurants in Charlottetown that would blow this one out of the water.
Great food. Super friendly staff. I love the "all items on the menu is the same price" concept. Great for sharing. Two beers and two small plates came in at less than 30$. Fantastic find in Charlottetown
The menu here changes every two weeks but the quality it always excellent. As a vegetarian, I really appreciate how almost half of the menu items are vegetarian and can be made vegan upon request. I took my vegan friends here and they loved it. The flavours are really creative. I find it to be a bit noisy in the evenings, so it can be hard to have a conversation without yelling.
Great ever-changing menu, selection of craft beer and good tunes
Great atmosphere and service. The food is amazing. Every dish is carefully planned to bring out the different flavors and textures of the ingredients. The menu changes every 3 weeks or so. Half the menu is vegetarian so great place for options. Menu is small but everything is exceptional. Artisan brews on tap and you get to pick out a vinyl to be added to the playlist if you wish. Definitely a must try!
Great food, I was vary happy with everything we tried. Awesome beers on tap, and a lively crowd on a rainy Friday afternoon. Hands down the best place I've been to on the island.
Good food and good selection of beers. The food is really tasty with oriental flavours. Don’t expect healthy food, while it is very good in the mouth, everything taste a bit like chinese junk food.
Love this place! Perfect portions and attentive, pleasant staff who treat you like friends. Great atmosphere and always delicious! Highly recommended!
Unique bistro food with a rotating menu, relaxing atmosphere, and great beer... what more could you want in a local watering hole with great eats? Yum!
This place is a lot of fun! Great for any number of friends wanting to hang out. The staff were very friendly and fast to get our order. Good vibes indeed.
Great food and drinks, the menu changes regularly and I can confidently always find many items on the menu that are delicious! Great spot to find local craft beer from both on and off PEI
I didn't come here for a drink but this place is definitely recommended to gather with friends and grab some beers. Very attentive and friendly staff. Their food menu is reasonable priced. However, this chef's pork belly and gnocchi is too salty for me. But bonus points are big portion and the taste and flavor combination is distinctive.
We were very happy with our food. I'd highly recommend the cod bites if they're on the menu. One of the best gluten free options I've ever had.
Very cool place. Beer. Food. Vinyl. Can't go wrong. Really great tasting style menu, changing every two weeks. Great for sharing. And the best beer selection anywhere. Awesome limited realease craft beers. Well curated rotating selection. I've been here twice and will make a point of visiting every time I'm on the island.
Honestly some of the best food on PEI, if not the best. Service is just as great as the food.
Fantastic food, drink, service and ambience. Great local beer at fair price, innovative menu with tons for vegetarians.
Busy place, often good to go during off peak hours or they'll place you at the bar until a table opens up. At least you can still order drinks and food there! The menu changes every 2 weeks, and most things are $8. However if you're coming for a meal, you're going to need at least 2 items to fill you up. The quality of the food is unreal!
Reliably fantastic food. Small plates for $8, with the menu changing every couple of weeks. Rotating craft beer taps.
Absolutely amazing restaurant and bar. Great beer selection and food is unbelievable. Menu changes every two weeks and everything on it is $8. Great funky atmosphere where you can choose what vinyl record you want played and they will queue it up for you. My go to stop in town on a Friday night.
What a great variety of local craft beer. If you want to come to Charlottetown and try all of the local crafty goodness, come to HopYard. Holy kadoodle. The only thing is that it kind of feels bare/empty; too brightly lit.
Good food, good beer, good atmosphere. The staff were friendly and polite. Loved the Moroccan-inspired menu that was available when I went.
Great spot to hang out. Staff was incredible and the tap selection changes everyday. Food at lunch looked great and the evening atmosphere on a Tuesday felt good. Awesome selection of vinyl records!!! Yes and they can be played! It was great to flip though them and see all the old memories.
Very cool spot! Great beers, a menu that changes every two weeks or so with a wide range of choices and you get to pick the music playing from a huge selection of vinyl
Frig this place rocks! You can literally pick anything off the menu and you're going to be blown away. Do yourself a favor and sit at the bar sometime. The staff is incredible!
Went in well before close but were told they were trying to close early because it was quiet. Staff were having personal conversations at the bar, ignored us so we had one drink and left. Previously, disappointed by the bland, overpriced, small portions of food. Won't return.
Holy F. 10 out of 10. Amazing. Order the cauliflower and the wonton nachos, and be sure to have the Nutella jam donut for desert. Better than lobster joints. Awesome.
Great selection of dishes! Beer wasn't bad at all, and I was able to leave with a good condition vintage vinyl. Hopyard was one of the only two bright spots in Charlottetown that doesn't gouge their customers (the other was a free beach) price-wise. The staff was unbelievably friendly, accomodating, and downright personable. If I ever go back to Charlottetown, Hopyard will be the first place I go to eat.
Great and unique drinks in town. Menu is creative. Loved the Christmas special one. But sometimes it could go soooo wrong. Never try their fried rice when the have asian style menu. Well, I don't blame them. Actually, I like the chef's creative idea.
It was a little crowded and loud. There was a 10 minute wait for a table which wasn't too bad. Service was slow and the food took 40 minutes from the time ordered to get to the table. Had to ask our server for a refill after our glasses were empty for a while. The food was definitely worth the wait. Best meal in quite a while.
This eclectic, interesting establishment is a pleasure to the taste buds. The beer choices are wide and varied with a focus on independent, micro-breweries. The menu not only offers great choices, but it's a pleasure to read. The service was friendly and quick, despite the busy lunch time crowd. The food itself was superb; it had the taste and appearance of it being thoughtfully prepared. This place deserves recognition not just for its support of local food and beverages, but being wonderfully different.
I have to give it a five star review. My wife and I have eaten here three times and found the food almost too good for how fast the service is and how reasonable the prices are. If you are a vegetarian you will not be disappointed. Other vegetarians reading this review will know how sparse the food landscape can be here on PEI. Mostly places just make meatless versions of their regular offerings and try to pass it off as being for vegetarians. Not here, every time we've been in there has been a nice selection of vegetarian food specially designed and aimed towards vegetarians. No more full price nachos with the chicken taken off, they don't do that here. RIght now you can go enjoy an amazing bean burger, fantastic falafel tacos and spectacular truffle mayo fries for very reasonable prices. When the spicy broccoli or cauliflower bombs finds it way back on the menu you're going to want to try those too. Meat eaters don't stress out, there is plenty on the menu aimed at you and I bet you'll love every bite.
We were recommended this place for food as tourist wanting something local, fresh and not to pricey. It was right on point. Exceptionally good plates; we had the taco and the general tao calamari. Incredible. Simply amazing and tastefull.awesome portion for 8$. We had a local beer that was also delicious. Nice waiter and ambiance. Wish it was located near my home.
Delicious vegan meals which is why I come here. Smaller portions but only 8$. Ordered 2 fries at table, one was half a bowl the other was full. We asked why and they wouldn't fix it.
Classy Restaurant for only Classy People, II always go there with my girlfriend for late night date, Never got disappointed by service, food, or drinks. New in Charlottetown must try this Restaurant, and there unique beers. Super friendly staff with Great food is hard to find in Charlottetown, So Must try.
Awesome food, cool atmosphere. Super hot though. Air conditioning was broke when we were there. All and all though really enjoyed our meal and time there.
Tasty food, different menu than most of the places we saw. Good beer selection. Friendly staff and owner. A great stop during our day walking around CTown.
Amazing food, great beer. Selections you can't find anywhere else. Definitely a favorite!
Great place and the veggie burger is amazing ???? ????
We love the menu changes, makes it interesting to order food out of our comfort zone. It is ALWAYS delicious. Staff are friendly and atmosphere is cool.
Kinda pricey, but good.
Moroccan flatbread is fantastic. Pickled turnip, tabouli, lemon zartar aioli and curried tofu are just a few ingredients that make every morsel a delight.
Great craic. Live music and nice beer
Incredible service, Mike fetched us from an adjacent restaurant when our table was ready. Food was a spectacular adventure, we ordered one of everything (literally). Ambiance was solidly good time for our 3 generational group of 5. Go here if you are visiting Charlottetown! Oh, but their forks are made of tinfoil. Perhaps just for the challenge?
A great place for vegans and gluten free peeps! SOO good.
Beer was tasty, food was decent and the service good.
The food here never disappoints. Always delicious. The bar was really busy but our service was fast and our food arrived very quickly.
so good! It was a lot of fun and a great atmosphere
Food is top noch, with great options for vegetarians. Beer has a great local selection along with others from around the Maritimes. Will be back again next time I am in PEI.
Great service and crafted food.. Nothing from a sisco truck here. Big flavours and delicious! Nice selection of local beers. Tapas change up often. Definitely worth the stop if you're on the island.
Best Vegan Chicken sandwhich I've ever had hands down.
As always, the menu is incredible. If you have an adventurous palette, the menu changes every couple weeks to a different theme. So you can visit a couple times a month and have something completely different every time! It can get quite loud in the restaurant, simply from everyone in the restaurant having a hell of a time!
Looking for something different? Check out the HopYard! It's incredible. Menu changes all the time and lots of great beers to choose from. Service staff are awesome as well!
Tasty snacks but small portions. Good prices and nice local beers on tap
Awesome atmosphere! I'm so happy we finally got to try Hopyard. While we were visiting last summer, we were told it would be close to a 2 hour wait. This time, we were seating right away!! Such a cool restaurant - great seating, friendly staff and I love the records. You can pick from (I'm not exaggerating) 100's of records to listen to while you enjoy your meal! Thankfully patrons had already picked Pink Floyd and Sublime so we didn't even need to change the music. The Turf n Turf burger was amazing and I definitely recommend pairing it with Upstreet's Common Pilsner. Cant wait to be back!
Great staff, great atmosphere, great food. Definitely a go to place to unwind after work, have a drink and catchup with friends, or to go out for dinner.
Love Hopyard! The food is always amazing. The vegan meals are so full of flavour. It is one of the best places in Charlottetown without question. Hats off to the chef and thank you vegetarian/vegan options!
Great food, great beer, great music!!!
One thing for sure was the food was well prepared. The Burger Love burger was heavy on the sweetness and needed a little kick if spice. The Candy Vegetable was like a trip back to the 70s when vegetarian food was a beige as an Apple IIe. The Maple fries were also too sweet. Combine that with the fries, killed the flavour of the truffle mayo. The strawberry rhubarb beer was nice combo, but, like most micro brewery stuff, too hoppy. But it was the Hopyard after all. The worst aspect was the service. Although the staff was pleasant, we had to find our own cutlery. Oblivious and inattentive service staff do not a great dinning experience make.
One of the island's go-to spots the food here is phenomenal although thankfully it's not a gigantic plate (it's definitely quality over quantity) and their local beer selection is fantastic. Vegetarian and vegan friendly options, with their standard menu being just as good as their rotating menu. If you're here visiting for a week, this is an easy must-stop. If you're a local you're already eating here.
Knowledgable, genuinely friendly staff. Really good food and a fab selection of local craft beer. What more could you want ?!
We went to eat at this new place in Charlottetown for a Sunday treat...we arrived at 5:00 waited 15 minutes and left . Perhaps 12 people in the whole place 4 people working and not 1 came over with a menu or even with a glass of water . Terrible Arrive. .
Great food, consistent service and an ever-changing menu. Highly recommend.
Delicious meals and a beautiful atmosphere, as well as nice friendly servers! a friend and I ordered some champagne here for New Years and I gotta say I wouldn't have it any other way. Will likely will come back for seconds!
Great food. Good beers but way to noisy place to even have a basic conservation with a few friends over a few excellent beers. Place seems a little understaffed. Feels like our waiter could take the proper time to make suggestions and offer the best service.
Nice selection of regional craft beers, ciders and seltzer on tap, well curated. The food was fresh, offered a good amount of flavour and spice. The atmosphere seemed to be a good mix of local hangout but open and welcoming to the passing guest.
I had a burger and it was great. Fries are amazingly good as well. They have some sort of sauce on them that's good. Good selection of beer. The place has a great vibe too.
This place is a true gem in Charlottetown. We met the owner on what was going to be a quick stop on our beer and food crawl, ended up being a long stay because of how friendly Mike was. He took the time to tell us all the best places to eat on the island, even calling ahead to make sure we were taken care of at the next place. A must visit bar with rotating taps of regional beers and rotating food menus from around the world. Truly amazing. Thanks Mike! From your Alberta friends.
Amazing place, great beer selection and awesome food. Throw in amazing staff and you have Hopyard.
This is the most recent downtown addition for culinary delights, craft beer and vinyl lovers. #1 on my list for beginning a night out, group dining, post work brew or business meeting. Unreal atmosphere, great service.
Stopped by for the delicious vegan chocolate cake. Love the cake but was disappointed to learn they don't serve tea or coffee. Excellent choice of beer and cider though!
One of the very best places to eat in Charlottetown right now. A constantly changing menu that always excites and delights, a great variety of guest beers, great music, fresh atmosphere, and outstanding hospitality.
Our server was world class and rocked a pair of gold Sketchers like a Queen. Half way through a great meal a tuba player started so it went to shizzz pretty quit though.
Great local beer at fair price. The food was tasty!
The ever-evolving menu is spot on. The beer is great. The music selections are fun and unique. This place is a real gem.
Great selection of on local beers on tap. Service was okay at best. Despite being not that busy bartenders were pretty inattentive. Music was a bit on the loud side. I may have been here on an off night but I came away a bit disappointed.
Super delicious food. Revolving menu every two weeks. The chef(s) here are 5 Star quality. Music is great too. Rumor has it that the reggae LPs aren't for sale. Bummer.
Great food, even better beer. Nice music, you will love the place.
This is exactly what I've been looking for in my city. A simple lunch menu on one page with several choices at the same low price point, and the ability to pick several beers on tap for $5. If I was local, this is the kind of place I'd be visiting for lunch a few times a week. Highly recommend both the beef sandwich and onion rings.
Nice beer but expected more from the burger
Awesome. Great service, unique menu, and amazing quality of food. They change their menu all the time and I'm glad I got to experience this place. A definite recommend. ????????
Great beer selection, excellent moist and flavourful wings. Friendly staff
I really enjoyed their vegetarian and vegan dishes. It was some flavors and dishes have never had before. It was my first time going and I would definitely recommend it my community.
This is a terrific restaurant. The food is flavorful and the service was excellent. I highly recommend giving them your business. The prices are awesome and I enjoyed my time there. A must try place in PEI!
Can't go wrong if you're looking for a beer and a bite. They also bring in some special brews from Toronto from time to time that you can't find on the east coast usually. Friendly bar staff and fast service.
Food was very good. Beer not so great. I tried but the beer was not worth the money. Recommend trying beer sample before buying a beer based on profile. I know how it should or could taste in that type of beer. However what you brought me in a glass shouldn't be out of the brewery yet.
I highly recommend Hopyard. If you want some great food this is one of the best places to go. The menu changes regularly but you can never go wrong. Great selection of microbrews as well. Try it you won't be disappointed.
Food was delicious! So many unique options. Good service and fun vibe in the restaurant. It was a bit louder than I expected, more of a pub/bar feel with the music playing vs. A restaurant.
Love the concept, but Hopyard fails to deliver on fundamentals. Pros: + Interesting food and drink menu options + Nice decor + Cool vibe + Clean space Cons - Servers were busier socializing at the bar than serving guests, some tables waiting over 10 minutes just to get water (restaurant was less than 40% capacity while we were there) - No warmth or attentiveness from servers; unfortunately falling into that stereotypical hipster trope other reviewers have pointed out - Beers arrived not very cold - Not all menu items were available - The execution on the very tantalizingly described menu items often fell short (over cooked, too much sauce, poor quality ingredients) Between mostly apathetic, sometimes rude service staff, to warm beers and menu execution that's subpar, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
I highly recommend this restaurant the food was flavorful and the cider was excellent i’ll be back!
The menu is always changing and it's always delicious. Same for the beer. It's a great place for a quick bite, with the whole menu broken into smaller $8 plates, with a few more elaborate items lower down
Staff were friendly, trendy atmosphere, and the food was great! I had the triple stack smash burger and the flavours that popped out of it were next level. Definitely one of the best burgers I've had in a while, albeit messy... But totally worth hosing down afterward
The menu was excellent lots of options and the menu changes regularily like the music. Thanks for a great meal
Amazing food & beer, great service and ambiance! They change their menu entirely every two weeks! Everything was so delicious! Would definitely come back!
Very cool atmosphere. Weekly rotating taps are awesome. Fun spot to try a new beer at.
Great service. Large selection of draught beer. Menu never disappoints.
Disappointing beer range, better choice available at other outlets. Low ceiling and lighting made for a loud echoing room did not make it a comfortable place to eat. Young clientele, perhaps I am getting old.
The rotating taps of craft beer and cider never get boring. The food is amazing and the music and atmosphere makes you want to keep coming back for a good time
I think the experience can be summed up in one word: "meh." What's unfortunate is that the food has potential, but it's smothered in sauces and mayonnaise which dilutes the overall taste. The atmosphere is good, but it's not better than your typical pub, and as some reviewers have mentioned the service leaves a lot to be desired. Overall, I think there are a lot of better options for pub food in Charlottetown and I wouldn't put Hopyard anywhere near the top of that list.
Came here to rave about the Thursday night special - vegan cauliflower wings. To die for! You get a huge bowl for $7, and they are absolutely delicious. I can’t wait to go back and try a different sauce. ????
Tasty, unique and flavorful food with a nice selection of beers on tap. Very quick service. A do again!
Currently my go to restaurant for a quick bite and a brew. Love the small plates and rotating menu. Always get the broccoli!
I was told this place was hit or miss. Unfortunately I experienced a hard miss. The fries were rock solid. It was clear they were 2-3 days old and then reheated. The chicken was tough and also a few days old I’m assuming. Very disappointed.
Great flavorful menu that changes every couple weeks on a theme. If the theme isn't to your liking you might be out of luck as there isn't a huge selection, but prices are good and the atmosphere is casual. Definitely a place to go back to again and again to try the new menu.
Great food and drinks,friendly staff!
I don't like the experience at this place. The staff are less than welcoming. The space is loud because there's no sound dampening. Menu choices are high in fat. Beer is goblet-tastic and is never satisfying.
Good food, fun experience picking your album to have them play and good selection of Atlantic drafts.
My husband and I and new baby checked this place out for brunch on a day trip to PEI because of the beer selection and vegan options. We loved it so much that we travelled back across the island for dinner! The food is really that good! Delicious flavour combos, a revolving menu, cool atmosphere and a happy staff. We also met the owner, Mike, who was there at both of our meals and is clearly hands-on at this great local business. Would love for you to open in Oakville, ON! Will definitely travel back to PEI just for the food here.
The fish cakes were tasty but they were really potato cakes. Couldn't taste the fish. Also, suggest they add blueberries to the Peak salad since they are so abundant this time of the year.
Fantastic rotating taps, selection is good. It is changing all the time (the one you are drinking might be the last one they have of that selection). That means, you could have three IPA out of 9 taps a night and four blonde beer on another night, that's part of the fun. The food is mostly asian fusion and they are just amazing. Jane certainty knows what she is doing. Simply a fantastic experience.
Very good selection of beers, but for us it was too noisy in the evening. Probably better to visit during the day if you want a quieter drink.
I love the hopyard their crispy broccoli is beautiful and their fries with the sauce I think it's called chicken fried rice I love this place and the vinyl records they play I rate them a 10 thank u Brett and Mike hope to see you soon Gladys macdonald
Love the food, go here fairly often, but it's not the place to go if you enjoy conversation with your table mates. Always loud, but always delicious. Great vegetarian options.
Food was yummy.... Fried broccoli was a game changer! Beer selection was top notch. And vinyl selection was classic!
Great food, great service. Look forward to seeing what the next menu is.
My favorite restaurant on PEI. Always amazing food, delicious beer and the best staff. I love that they change the menu every two weeks and have vegetarian/vegan options.
Great food and the beer is also lovely, the food menu seems to change often so that's a plus and the inclusion of vinyl records being sold is super neat, I definitely recommend this place if you're visiting Charlottetown
Great food and atmosphere. Our server was fantastic and very friendly.
My favorite place to eat! I love how the menu changes and they always have great beer selections
The Chicken and Waffles were awesome....and I wasn't even that hungry so can't blame that. So much flavour and a decent helping. I want to try all the other interesting items on their menu now.
Good atmosphere, the food could be better.
Lots of maritime beers to choose from. Great service, lots of great records, food is pretty good too
Terrific atmosphere, extremely friendly staff, awesome music, with a unique menu that is absolutely delicious! Our waiter told us they change the menu every 2 weeks. I would definitely recommend the hopyard!
Good beer selection. Great variety of chef inspired pub food. Casual decor; great service.
Some of the best vegan food I've ever had in my life. I'd leave Ontario again just for the food. Thanks for hosting our band!
We were visiting PEI for our summer trip, we stopped over at this lovely place. Great selection of music that you can choose to have them play. Beers were great. Food quality was awesome.
Nice concept for the menu, and lively crowd. A nice place to meet with friends for a drink. The dishes could be more flavorful. I had a hot dog that I thought was going to be packed with flavour and adventurous toppings - just turned out to be pretty much a regular hot dog. I hear the menu changes often and some of the pics I've seen from previous menus looked like they had some better options. Wrong timing, I guess.
Different awesome menus every couple weeks, and a great atmosphere.
Food was delicious, just a bit limited menu for non vegan customers, but the servive was courteous and fast and the food quality was great.
The food was good, but service was not. They acted like they didn't want to serve me and my date but they were happy to take other people orders. It wasn't busy in the restaurant at all. They didn't come over to our table to bring menus or anything. We had to get up and ask for a menu which was kind of strange and they didn't really want to speak to us. I wonder why that happened?
Island wide power outtage didnt stop them from giving us a great time and great service. They dropped a deck of cards on the table so we could keep carrying on! The food is always amazing too.
Excellent local brew selection and interesting menu options. Pub food with a gourmet flare. Menu changes regularily. Not your average pub.
Love it every time I'm there. Great variety, great taste! Wouldn't mind seeing more salads on the menu!
Some unique selections and most are really good (that's to personal taste), thought not a lot of options. Nice atmosphere, plus they have No Boats on Sundays so +.
Beautiful ambiance, the rotating menu is delicious and original! And they have a great selection of craft beer! A must when in Charlottetown.
A vinyl record-themed spot found right downtown, I loved the selection of local beers and the food was incredible. Smaller sharing plates allows for a group to really sample the elevated pub fare which I am told changes frequently. Will definitely re-visit to try what else they can put out there. Edit: 2nd visit a year later and I went for the Kolkata menu and it was even better. My wife and I went for the "Choose Your Own Adventure" option which gave us 7 choices it was the best way to explore the menu. Keep it up and please come out to Ottawa, you'll have a lifelong fan.
Great, crazy, food! I had sweet potato fries with some kind of pink dipping sauce that was amazing. Great food only paid $9 in and out.
Food was very good. Nice atmosphere but picked a couple of albums and couldn't hear them. A great night though.
Truly awesome. Great beer selection, chill owner and great vinyl... Easy to loose some time here and need to take a taxi home
Great place. Love the food and drink options.. it's a lil pricey and some of the options are really repetitive like the broccoli/cauliflower is the same practically every menu. Just swapping sauces and spices doesn't make it much different from one menu to the next.. But great staff and delicious food... and a lots of vegetarian/vegan options that actually taste great!!!
Great ambience, decent bar food! Gets 5 stars for the ambience
Food was really good and the service was friendly and prompt. My first experience here but I don't think anyone would be disappointed here if their experience was similar to ours. Lots of vegan and gluten free options if that's your thing.
Hopyard consistently carries great local and off island beer. Add to that, the ever rotating menu, and you have a perfect spot to unwind with friends.
Agree with Dale's comments from a week before this review. Food looked promising, everything is smothered in sauce which masks the taste of the food. Service was good, server was nice.
Food and service were fine. It seemed there were few covid restrictions enforced though. There were 65-70 people by the time we left, 7-8 people crowded around tables for 4, people kept pulling up chairs ignoring distance between tables, no dividers between tables either. Patrons walked to other tables to chat without masks on. I've been to many restaurants over the last 6 months and I have never felt so anxious and uncomfortable in one before.
We went in a bit late and hungry hoping the kitchen was still open and sat down. We ordered drinks since the tables were still set with cutlery. We were hoping to be able to oreder at least bar food but they had nothing to offer. I was also disappointed that they only serve craft beer. The staff were friendly and it had a nice atmosphere especially for a younger crowd.
Had absolutely wonderful meal and the service was excellent, will definitely be going again in the near future ❤
Decent beer selection, friendly staff, great atmosphere though slightly darker than preferred. Really neat that they had a whole selection of vinyl that you could choose from to have played and an elderly couple even got up and started dancing! Good for both groups and date nights, food was delicious of course, and prices were affordable but also means slightly smaller portion sizes, though given the flavours, it was all worthwhile. The salmon on a stick was seasoned to perfection and their fries with button mushrooms were wonderful.
In my opinion the best place to get food and beer in Charlottetown. The vegetarian and vegan offerings were amazing, I sampled quite a few of them and understand the menu changes. Also had very friendly service. Kimchi was fresh and spicy!
