We went to the bar here on the third floor where we were able to order the food they serve in the restaurant. Great lighting, cozy atmosphere, very well decorated, amazing food, the beef Wellington literally melted in your mouth, the drinks were very well made and our server was very welcoming and made you feel at ease. We really enjoyed our time here. :)

Im easy to please if you look at my reviews...generally 4 stars and above is common. Place is beautifully historic inside but food does not match the ambiance. My wife had salmon and she advised very bland. It was on a huge plate with minimal sides of shaved veggies and a sauce that literally had zero flavour. I had burger love with fries and caesar salad....decent but really nothing special. Fries were soggy and warm not hot! Caesar salad had zero flavour. Very disappointing for such a nice looking spot. Sat in Marcs lounge area...quaint spot. Good service just basic food.

Totally Loved It...! - First our waitress, Laura, was so friendly and really made you feel welcome with pleasant conversation and helpful advice. She was also very responsive to our needs. Next, the food... it was phenomenal. I had the salmon burger with a side of greens and my wife had the ricotta lemon pancakes which were to die for. We sat on the outside patio with our little pooch and had plenty of shade from the bright sunlight. Overall it was a great experience. We’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful culinary experience.

Was there last night ....i found the staff friendly and professional ...wine prices-totally crazy and they didn't offer a Merlot by the glass ? bar tender unwilling to open a bottle .. I had the butter chicken .... It was a joke ...! As well as the nachos .... The haddock my guest ordered looked good but it better be for the price you pay .. Dropped over 60.00 plus 15 percent tip ....i recommend allot of places to my clients and guests staying at my BNB ...but it wont be this place ....

Great experience. Steak was cooked perfectly, the Bacon Chipotle Mac & Cheese was very tasty, not drowning in sauce. Portions were just right. Would have been 5 stars but for the fact we had to move once because it was so cold, and then we asked for the AC to be turned off. Also $5 for bread and butter....??? Our server Logan was super polite and efficient.

Top-notch all around. From the hostess and server to the chef and sous chef, staff was cheerful, professional and attentive. The plating and presentation of each of our plates was perfect. Hot food was hot. Cold was cold. I ordered the PEI blue mussels which were served paired with Spanish olives - a nice combination. The Caesar was crisp and perfect. Elsewhere around the table, we ordered the Brick Mac Burger, the Lobster Mac n' Cheese, and the Scallop special. Check out my pictures for additional details that reflect the images and bring this review more "to life". We were only visiting PEI, but I suspect this place is a highly rated favorite.

We were here as part of a group that was provided a fixed menu. The crab cakes I had were practically inedible, with almost no discernable amount of crab. A spicy marmalade completely overwhelmed any taste of seafood. Other dishes were equally insipid. Good service, lousy food.

Ordered a large takeout order, got to the hotel and realized the side order of 7$ sweet potato fries were barely equivalant to a small fry at mcdonalds. It's priced at 7$. Very dissapointed. The food tasted great. I would advise against side orders.

My husband had 2 glasses of pop accidentally dropped on him. The bartender was concerning since he was taking the spring bean out of the jar with his fingers. Never once washing his hands and rubbing his face with his hands and taking his mask off and on. First time to the restaurant and after that don't believe we will be back.

We just finished a late lunch here and it was very tasty! A simple yet VERY flavourful selection. We had the lobster poutine, haddock fish tacos with a Caesar salad, and a side of gnocchi with a creamy Marsala wine sauce. The poutine was made with a lobster bisque “gravy”, the salad had a good bite to it (a little too much dressing though). The tacos were very fresh and had a great fresh guacamole with slaw and other veggies (although got a little soggy with the vinegar sauce on the slaw), but the gnocchi was our FAVE! It had an amazing and extremely flavourful sauce on them, and for $8 as a side was totally worth it! The gnocchi was homemade, and I think was sweet potato, although not overly sweet which was nice! Very tender gnocchi. The server we had was lovely, very friendly and attentive! We chatted with her a bit once we finished eating. It was around 2:45-4pm that we were there on a rainy day, so could possibly be different service-wise if it was busier. Overall great experience! Would definitely recommend!

Kids meals for my children were in good size but the macaroni and cheese was over cooked in the oven, so it was really hard and chewy on the surface. Burger for my husband was good. His baked potato dish was good too. I ordered a rip eye steak, medium cook. It was more like well done and the steak was super thin (1/2 inch) and small (round steak, 2 inches in diameter), not a good portion for $36 + tax.

This is the second time I've visited. Food is excellent, service is excellent. We had steak tartare, crab Rangoon for apps, haddock & seafood bubbly as mains, with side of garlic parm fries. Carrot cake roll & espresso creme brulee for dessert. I also had espresso martini. Very delicious. My favorite were the crab rangoon and garlic parm fries!

A phenomenal meal. We sat in the corner and were able to watch the head chef work expertly (if we weren't leaving tomorrow we'd come back to sit at the chef's table) and also see the sudden storm out the window. Our table ordered the oysters, mussels, lobster Mac and cheese, short ribs, chocolate and caramel desserts, and mango mules to drink. All were perfect and interesting. Saw many more dishes that all looked so good. Extra excitement of a sudden power outage during the storm, where all staff worked well to keep things going. Server was excellent.

My wife and I have loved this restaurant for years. Recently, we ordered take-out Burger Love. My wife has celiac disease, so we ordered one to be gluten free (they have the best GF bread). It was rung through as GF, but wasn't cooked GF. She ended up getting very sick, but the restaurant insisted that we come back for a meal on the house. Not only did we get 1 meal free of charge, but our entire meal was comped (including alcoholic drinks). The staff is always pleasant, welcoming, and knowledgeable! This is the best restaurant in town, hands down!

Good service but the rest all bad. 1. Out of six mains, all six had issues. 2. Fries weren’t cooked and white instead of golden also very oily. 3. Brickanator burger was meh, simple burger nothing special with again soggy white fries 4. Haddock under fish was covered in to much vinegar and the veggies were burnt and soggy. 5. Steak with churro dressing again, covered in vingegar with soggy white fries. 6. The daily special salmon gross, again covered in vinegar (I think the chef loves vinegar) over use.. please try a different ingredient. And again veggies burnt and over cooked. I could hardly tastes the sauce which would have made the dish better but it was over powered by vinegar. Our apps, two dips ceaser salad and mussels. The salad wasn’t anything special, mostly salad ends and lacked creativity. Dips were good, but need more naan on the plate as half the dip and your out. Mussels were good. All in all, will not return. Second attempt and same experience as last time, beautiful place but lacks good food.

An elegant atmosphere, the epitome of fine dining experience. A great blend of modern mixed with old. The demographic reaches from the millennial to the experienced, all aspects of the menu delights even the most pickiest of eaters. Started with the beef carpaccio, tuna tartar and the mussels, not one meal disappointed our hungry pallet. Finished the meal with a scallop pasta to die for. It had fresh elements with the water crest that brightened the dish and the peas made it earthy. Hands down an experience for the ages. Reservations are highly suggested, we were lucky enough to find a place at the bar where we had a very pleasant conversation with the friendliest bartender. Kudos to the staff and the cooks for a one of a kind experience!!

If you’re lucky, you’ll be cared for by Alex, who’s a devoted, true professional, yet friendly waiter. He’s quite honestly our absolute highlight of the evening, making this experience something we want to repeat! You can also count on the kitchen staff to delight you: we ordered a burger and a vegan burger, both accompanied with a side of fries. Don’t judge the size of the plates, you’ll be more than satisfied with the portions. As for drinks, indulge yourself with their selection of signature cocktails. And if you’re not sure about what to pick from the menu, just ask for something according to your preferences and they’ll whip something up to your taste! We tried a variation of their Charlottetown Flare as well as a Nobcreek Old Fashion with original bitter. Because everything can’t be perfect, their WIFI connection, while available, is not worth the trouble. So put your phone away and enjoy a great evening at Brickhouse Kitchen & Bar!

Very friendly service. We ordered 2 steak frites, a haddock, mac n’ cheese, and the pot pie as well as a mushroom pappardelle and a duck confit slider. Both steaks were ordered medium rare, but one came more like medium well. The haddock was a bit dry. The mushroom pappardelle was DELICIOUS, but the sliders were so salty that we had to send it back. The first round of food came after 40 minutes and the second round came after 20 minutes. The kitchen really let our server down. That’s really too bad. It was a team effort and our server was the only one playing.

I didn't think to grab any photos, but this place is gorgeous and has a fantastic menu. Highly recommended. We started the night with the the zucchini garlic fingers, calamari, and duck confit sliders. Alongside some of their house cocktails, these shareable dishes were delicious. Moving on into mains we had the hamburger (substituting normal fries for the garlic & parmesan frites - a move I'd highly recommend) and the sweet potato gnocchi. A couple of pints of blueberry ale helped wash it all down. Finally, we splurged and got dessert. Initially, disappointment set in at the lack of chocolate options. It's a short menu. However, we decided to gamble a bit by going with the ice cream cake and WOW what a payoff. This ain't your mama's triangular wedge of ice cream cake. It's almost like a log cake, but it is a gourmet (and VERY shareable, given the size) work of ice cream art. Topped with Skor bits, layered throughout with chocolate and other crunchy, delicious ingredients, this was perhaps the highlight of the night. Our server said it best when she commented that it could be a hard sell at times based on the name alone, but the ice cream cake is a sleeper hit on that menu. The service was fantastic, MJ was a treat and we wouldn't hesitate to return. Next time, I'll bring an extra thousand bucks and take home the painting of Zooey Deschanel as well.

Excellent service and delicious food! We where going to leave as I don't eat meat and the only option on the lunch menu was the beyond meat burger which I wasn't interested in! The server was excellent very professional and kind, she offered me the dinner menu which I ordered off of! We where very happy we stayed! My husband had the smash burger which he enjoyed very much!

We went here for dinner. We were seated at a very draughty table. One ordered the vegetarian gnocchi, sorry that's off, I should have told you! I ordered the lobster pot pie. Well there was plenty of sauce and lots of mushroom and tomato but only 3 tiny pieces of lobster in a town which has a surplus of the critters. The pastry was very stodgy. No worth the price of $29.

Beautiful decor. .The Service was top notch with all the servers wishing my wife a happy bday , wonderful desert tray sent to our table. Couldn't get into the restaurant as was very busy. Decided to go up to the third floor lounge. Ordered the hamburger as it had won an award. The flavor was good but the burger was charred as was the bacon, both burgers as my wife ordered the same. The inside of the burger was fine so I expect it was rushed. I also felt it was over priced at$18. The flavor was good but would not order again as there are better deals to be had. The atmosphere was good as was our waiter/bar tender. We were compensated with two coffees and a dessert. My lesson is, if you pay top dollar don't accept less quality in the food preparation.

Service was great but there seemed to be some tensions in the kitchen between the waitress and chef. It made it a little awkward overhearing their dispute and kind of changed the mood of our visit. Brickhouse burger was very tasty and worth a try. Fries were cold and soggy, but I think if they were fresh they would have been great. The calamari was disappointing, unfortunately. It was drizzled with soya sauce (I think) and it was entirely soaked up by the breading on the squid. Insanely salty and soggy. The few bites that were spared from the soya wrath were great! Atmosphere and decor was lovely! We will try again in a few months to see if we can leave a more positive review :)

I wish I could take this place home!!! The cocktails were the best I have had in a long time (peach iced tea was particularly delicious). We sampled most of the cocktails and were pleasantly surprised with each. The mussels were the perfect starter and for 12$, the value was outstanding. The buttermilk chicken club was mouth-watering delicious - the house made jalepeno sauce was perfectly balanced sweet/hot and the chicken was expertly cooked. The staff were friendly and efficient, playing the roles of bartender, hostess, and server. Even a family with small children (seriously people why bring children under the age of 12 to a restaurant with the word BAR in the title???) couldn't put a damper on our night. Special kudos to our server Emma who made the drinks perfectly and convinced us to stay when we wanted to leave once the children were seated. I'm glad we stayed because it was one the best nights we've had out in awhile!

Spectacular! 100% recommend, A++. This place had the probably best calamari, fries, and burger I've ever had. Tried pieces of the roasted hen too and loved it. Nothing on the menu was "standard", everything had a personal Brickhouse touch. Portions were huge and left me stuffed and happy. I was way too full for dessert but everything on the menu looked next-level. Servers knew their menu very well and were all very good looking.

Can't speak to the interior because we sat outside. Food was fantastic. My girlfriend hand the lunch special (lobster tacos!) and I ordered the Brisket Grill Cheese sandwich. We both opted for the house salad on the side. While most restaurants will simply toss some greens in a bowl The Brickhouse showed their commitment to quality by making sure their salads aren't an after thought. Service was warm and efficient. Also had great local beer options. If I lived in Charlottetown I'd be a regular here.

This establishment is not on par with the quality of cuisine that Charlottetown, and PEI in general, produces. As a frequent visitor to PEI from Toronto, I often remark to friends here and there how the quality of food exceeds that of Toronto, and most places in the country. While the staff were very friendly, and the decor decent (feels too much like they tried to emulate a modern, big-city establishment), the freshness of the ingredients was questionable. We ordered Lobster potato skins, and the arrived cold. I had a sandwich, and the "house made pretzel bun" was stale. My friend had a burger, that was supposed to be of fresh ground and house made, but it appeared to be a frozen burger -- given the shape and texture.

The service was attentive but there were two dead mussels in my chowder, not sure that is really award winning quality (they are the 2018 winners). The plating was beautiful and the asparagus with cranberries was really delicious! I know there's not much the restaurant can do about flies, but there were several fruit flies buzzing around my meal which made it less appetizing. All in all, the ambience is nice but not a 5 star experience.

Really nice place with a fancy vibe. Hard to get into because of it's small size. Ideal for a date, not a large gathering. The upstairs has some really cozy places to sit and often has live music. (I think it's called the lounge) my wife and I split an app, the poutine, that was lacking in the meat advertised but had plenty of savory mushrooms. We were pretty happy with it.

We were very discouraged with our meals we had at your restaurant last evening. We ordered 2 of the steak frites meals. Ordered medium well steak and steak was too rare to eat and cold. As well as fat throughout the steak. We had eaten at your restaurant years ago and always had a great experience but just not satisfied with our meals last night. Our son got the spinach and artichoke dip and wasn’t impressed with the soggy pitas with it.

We went to Sims but it was over an hour wait. They recommended the Brickhouse. Our server seemed to have a large section and was overwhelmed. We order the steaks. The steaks were greesy and had a lot of fat on them. The server didnt check up on us our whole meal and only came back to take our plates away. She saw that we had hardly touched our steaks. She looked disappointed and apologized but nothing further came of it. Overall a terrible experience. The steaks were very pricey.

YUM. The service was incredible and the staff was very friendly. We had coconut curry mussels which were sooo fresh and tasty, lobster wontons which were incredible, and the chipotle honey chicken tostada (my favourite) was very unique and had a ton of flavour. My husband got the truffle parm fries and wasn’t the biggest fan (he said they tasted like they’d been sitting out for a while), however, the beer made up for it. The cocktails were very unique and very delicious. The chilli + peach was to die for. Can’t wait to come back!

Great food! Just be aware that serving sizes are less generous than a country diner. Good place to order apps, a main and desert while enjoying a few beverages. Prices aren't cheap but they are very reasonable for the quality you get. ($20 to $30 for a main course, appetizers were around $15. Fine dining for two with a beverage each should be about $120+tip.)

A must try every March for burger love! Food all year long is on point! Very interesting to sit kitchen side watching the chefs. Have had a couple bad experiences with servers. They were a bit rude when we did not have a reservation on a busy evening. They could have just told us they were booked instead of making us feel dumb for not calling first

Friendly staff. Food was really good, very filling. Lots to pick from. Gluten free and vegan options were available. Found it very dark - the lighting was very dark. Only washrooms were on the second level so it’s not convenient if you have mobility issues or need to take small children in. Also no change tables for kids.
