Terrible experience overall. This was the first and last time at this restaurant. We arrived at 5:30pm, we only received our order after 7pm. They brought one of the plates around 6:20. We complained and they brought another one with the rest of the plates. Most of them were really good, however, the plate that they exchanged was not well made. It was grilled sardine. They served it burnt and with all its entrails. We complained to the manager/owner about the dish. This man, instead of remaking the dish or any other kind of customer service, was extremely rude. We discussed a bit and the only thing that he said is that that is how they make it in Portugal. He went away, then back again for more, saying that he was insulted that we complained about the dish, completely ignoring that it was also burned. I’ve, honestly, never seen fish being served with entrails before. The owner continued his verbal attack on us, so we preferred to pay and leave rather than discuss anything else with him. We weren’t able to finish our food being it because we lost our appetite or were discussed by the way that we were treated by the manager/owner. Do not support this restaurant.

I went for my birthday and the food was fantastic! I ordered the calamari as an appetizer and it was so juicy and yummy and had the shrimp piri with basmati rice and veggies, very flavourful and a great amount. Also ordered the litchi martini which was awesome. Do recommend.

I would probably give this place 3.5 stars only for the view and a nice service. The food was horrible. My husband ordered some BBQ chicken which was burned and super dry, and I had a burger with the meat that was burned on the outside and undercooked inside. Although, overall, the burger was not terrible if the meat was cooked properly.

Le saumon fumé maison est à essayer. Les moules, le poulet portugais avec le riz au safran et le ragoût de boulettes au poivre vert sont excellent. Côté déjeuner, les petites patates sont bonnes, les œufs brouillés sont excellents, bacon et saucisses sont correct mais je n'ai pas accroché outre mesure sur les œufs bénédictines. Le choix des fruits est assez varié. Les desserts sont bons, gâteau au chocolat et un genre de pain perdu à la cannelle recouvert d'un flanc aux oeufs. En tant que restaurant portugais j'aurais vraiment apprécié y voir quelques petits pastel de nata.

We took a short trip to visit Chambly and as my friends hadn't had lunch we decided to go to the restaurant "Grillades du fort" . The guy who greeted us was friendly and immediately pointed us to a table and the waitress quickly served the drinks and took our order. Unfortunately my order arrived before everyone else and after waiting almost 1 hour for the other orders, we called the waitress who promptly offered to replace my sardines as they were already cold once the other dishes are served. When we received our orders, my sardine was partially burnt on the outside but raw on the inside, with the fish's entrails still raw. The fish intestine was not removed spreading a bitter taste when I tasted it. We asked to speak to the manager (or owner) who, upon arriving at the table, explained that this was the correct way to prepare sardines in Portugal and that we didn't understand about the dish. I argued about the fact that the sardine was raw inside and still contained fish feces, but the manager responded aggressively and arrogantly, saying that we were offending him and that we should Google how to eat sardines. My friends ended up losing their appetite after seeing the inside of the raw fish mixed with the entrails, we asked for the bill and left very unhappy with the place. Will not return.

O esposo da minha amiga pediu somente uma sardinha grelhada com saladinha, essa por vez chegou bem antes de todos os pratos (veja que demorou uma hora para que fôssemos servidos). Reclamamos com a garçonete que prontamente se ofereceu para mandar outra sardinha para que comêssemos no mesmo momento (foi uma cortesia da própria garçonete). Enfim, mandaram outra sardinha grelhada para esse meu amigo que logo de cara ficou receoso com o prato recebido (ela estava um pouco queimada) mas começou a comer. Ao abrir a sardinha ele percebeu que ela estava mal cozida por dentro e com as entranhas (as fezes do peixe estavam lá) e pediu pra falar com o gerente. O gerente (ou dono) foi até a nossa mesa e aí começou o show de horrores, ele já chegou alterado falando que nós deveríamos procurar no Google como se come uma sardinha grelhada portuguesa. Foi extremamente rude, deselegante e grosseiro, perdemos o apetite na hora e pedimos a conta. O review vai em português mesmo, direcionado a esta pessoa que tentou jogar pra cima da gente os 8 meses que ele teve que se manter fechado por causa de uma pandemia. Pandemia esta que ainda estamos vivendo e que após sermos vacinados, estamos nos dando ao luxo de aproveitar os números baixos e restaurantes abertos, mas experiências como essa nos fazem lembrar que o bom e velho take out em muitas vezes vale mais a pena que passar por um estresse como esse. Eu nunca na vida vi isso que vi hoje, nem nos restaurantes mais simples ou mais chiques seja no Brasil, no Quebec ou nos países e cidades que já visitei. Não recomendo e fiz questão de vir aqui fazer este review.

Very well maintained historic site. Although the site was closed for some work, we were allowed limited access. Really appreciated the accomodation since we are from Western Canada and would not have another opportunity to visit. Worth the drive out from Montreal to anyone interested in history.
