Lunch for 3 of us last Saturday. We liked the decor which set the mood just right. The menu offered plenty to choose from and we enjoyed Butter chicken with garlic naan on the side, Chicken curry and Tandoori chicken, bone in. All were flavourful, served quickly and presented appetizingly. Price point was reasonable, and service friendly. Washroom was neat and clean, too. We're looking forward to returning soon. Here's a local restaurant that deserves your business!

Went there for a quick lunch as have to catch the ferry which was 1.5 hours away at Nanaimo. Requested a quick service, and they delivered without compromise on quality. All the items we ordered tasted really good too! I didn't have the chance to take pictures, but they looked delicious too! Oh, I should also mention, on a Sunday around 2pm, that's when we were searching for food options, and we were surprised that most of the stores were closed! But Spice Hut was open, much to our delight! Thank you for the great service!

The food is the best Indian food in town but there is only 1 other option, it'll do but best to go to Courtenay or Nanaimo if you want some decent stuff. The customer service was quite poor in our last experience, we ordered take out and upon arrival it was nowhere to be seen. Due to a "printer error" it had not been made, 20 minutes later we got our food with nothing more than a "sorry." Any respectable F&B establishment would comp a desert, part of the bill or something a gesture of good will for an error on their part. Very disappointing.

Food and service was good, the place was ok. The establishment could use some sprucing up. The food was well cooked and allade in house including the Gulab jamun. Food tasted well and the vegetable Biryani/pulao was great too!!

Spice Hut is our perennial favorite in Campbell River, and quite possibly the best Indian food on Vancouver Island. The food rivals even the best Indian places in Seattle, of about a dozen places we've been there. The spicing and flavoring of the dishes is excellent and the garlic naan is perfect. Portions are large, prices are reasonable, and the service is fast and efficient.

Perfect place for a stopover dinner in Campbell River. Large, spacious and clean. Portions were huge and flavourful - and service was really friendly. The mutter paneer and chicken masala were both spiced well, and the garlic naan was fluffy and warm. Excellent dinner and we hope to come back!

It was our first time there and the waitress was very helpfull. The dish I chose was medium spicy but I found it hot , but the waitress gave me some yogurt dish to put on it and it neutralized the heat. My aunts dish was coconut curry chicken and it was just perfect. I’ll have that next time we go.

Doesn't everyone love great service, great food, good presentation, being acknowledged by the service and chefs? Great customer service with smiles from everyone. We loved the spicy levels that were available! With true authentic Indian spice and flavor! Definitely will be a repeat!

I have been visitng both the locations more often but today I have had a bad experience with the service. Somehow in a hurry to close the place they forgot to care about the customers and there was an intense argument with the person. My family went there to have a good time, but the experience wasnt good and I left the place without having food. I will not be going back to Campbell River location.

They're not kidding when they call it SPICE hut !! We asked for the hottest flavor and they delivered. Next time we will ask for medium so we aren't sweating the whole time. The food was tasty and ambience was nice. Food arrived in a timely manner and good sized portions

Went and have lunch with a friend visiting from Vancouver, and this place serve one of the best Butter Chicken. I have had many Indian food when I was living in Vancouver but this place came first. Great staffs, reasonably price and food was excellent.

The food and atmosphere was great; I had expected a much smaller, fast casual style restaurant but it turned out bigger and better. The service was friendly, and eager to ensure that she could cater to my dietary needs. Loved the Chana curry.

Great food and great looking location. The only thing that disappointed was that I asked for "hot" spiciness and that was a medium-hot at most. Also, why is it always rice or naan, never rice AND naan. Or at least add on naan for a buck. I'm talking to all of you Indian places out there!

Messed up my meals. Twice! Told the waitress I have food allergies and I was served, both times, with ingredients that made me ill, but was assured they could be eliminated, then told they were not while eating my meal. Will not return for a 3rd time.

The overall food is mild not authentic , the butter chicken sauce is like a tomato soup no flavor at all and kebab is really good; Naan is big but kind of rubbery takes time to chew . Biryani is okay . Dal makini is good we enjoyed the taste . Not Indian standard food but it’s good for customers around here.

I used to come here all the time, with coworkers or for to-go. But after a few times of bad experiences I decide not to visit here and leave this message here. Similar to the the experience from one of the previous customer, I waited a long time at my table to be attended (maybe 4 tables of guests include mine), one girl is helping several other tables, and when I tried to ask help from the lady behind the counter, she simply replied I'm not your server...I don't understand how helping customers is not your job, if you are working as a waitress. There's several times where my to-go order does not have utensils, which I have to get from my hotel's kitchen. One time I ordered fish but got chicken, and when asking for a replacement, the server ask me to take back the order for proof, so I packed everything waited for 20 minutes (how long she told me it's going to be ready) and drove back to the restaurant. The waitress for some reason give a really bad attitude, as if I created troubles for her, like I should just stayed quite and accepted what I got, I do leave tips even for to-go. I just don't know understand why.

We used to visit this restaurant on a weekly basis. On a previous takeout some food was missing. I called, they said they would enter the error in their 'book' so I could claim the item next time. I called in an order recently and explained the previous error, only to be told that there was nothing written down.. To add insult to injury, the person on the phone referred to her colleague that I was 'claiming' to have something owed.. I could hear what she was saying quite clearly, and the tone was an implication that I might well have been making the whole thing up... Anyhow, I didn't get my owed food, and was ordering take out for myself and guests, so I carried on with the order. I specifically asked for a mint sauce which was missing, the pakoras were extremely salty, as were the popodoms...not worth complaining by phone.. We just won't go again..

Very disappointed with the meals I purchased today. Got 2 butter chicken dishes...it was very soupy and tasted like tomato soup...was not anything like butter chicken, we threw it away. Tasted terrible and was cold at pick up. Will not be going back.....disappointing as I've been going there off and on since they opened.

First off I'll say we are frequent visitors to spice hut and normally love it. This evening was by far the worst Indian food I ever had.(take out order) Simple thing like butter chicken was more like tomato soup with pepper in it I won't comment on the chicken as I assure you the chicken died for nothing. Definitely disappointed as the Costco one beats this by far. Typically it's great it's been hit or miss lately but the last 3 times it's been a miss! Seems they're having some cook issues as the cooks are white guys cooking indian food. My partner ordered spicy lamb curry and it came milder then water. Hope there's another place in town that cares about what they cook. If you change your passion for cooking I'll change my review.
