It is so nice to have a new amazing quality restaurant in Campbell River! We have been impressed with everything we’ve tried but I have to say, the steelhead was one of the best dishes I’ve had in a long time.

We had the pleasure of having a meal here pre-opening and Ryan and Katrina did not disappoint. The food was fresh, full of flavor, kid friendly (we have 3 all under 8 and they ate a lot!), and well thought out. Pizza was crispy and chewy at the same time, meat ball and polenta was spot-on delicious, and the creamy pasta with the pancetta is drool worthy. Well done guys! We look forward to many more meals from here.

Turning away customers is not good practice under any circumstances. lts not the right choice to not let certain people dine in because of their beliefs or health status. Asking for personal medical information as well as denying a customer based on such information is 100% illegal under the Charter of Rights, the Canadian Bill if Rights, the Human Rights Code, the Personal Health Information Protection Act, and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. What the government is doing is asking buisnesses to inforce a mandate which violates these laws. No law or mandate supersedes the charter, and if it does, its null and void. (It states this right on there if you have any doubts) The government has failed to tell you that part. This opens your buisness up to discrimination as well as privacy lawsuits. If you discriminate, you can be liable for violating these rights. The government wont help you if this happens. Do the right thing

Amazing food! I had pretty high expectations and they were all surpassed for each course. Really delicious! Loved sitting at the bar and talking with the staff, and watching them make yummy cocktails. Root beer and Makers Mark float for the win!

We just had the BEST meal; probably, seriously, of our entire lives here tonight. We shared the Focaccia and Fried Cheese Ravioli appies which were TO DIE FOR and then I had the Chicken Parmesan and my honey had the Spaghetti and Meatballs and oh my god. Just, no words. So flavourful and delicious. We split the tiramisu for dessert and my tummy is the happiest it’s ever been. We’re SO happy to have such an amazing Italian restaurant so close to home and wish Ryan and Katrina nothing but incredible success on their new journey!! We LOVE Matonne and will be back very soon!!! <3

We had the pleasure of dining here during the soft opening. Beautiful ambiance, amazing service and the food was out of this world. Campbell river is lucky to have such an esteemed chef. You would be silly not frequent this spot. 10 out of 10!

I had garlic prawns to start. They were good and had a great zesty citrus finish that I really liked. I had spaghetti and meatballs as my main. It was tasty and pretty standard fare. I have also had the oven pizza via takeout before and most of the rest of my party ordered one version or another on this occasion. I found it good when I had it for takeout but this night it looked a little lacking in toppings. I do plan to try this place again.

Checked it out last night - awesome! It hit all the high notes. They squeezed us in last minute. Excellent food. Good service from happy and nice staff. Terrific menu. Tasty caesar to drink. And bonus live music. So good we booked a table next weekend. My new favourite place. YAY!

We had the best time at Mattone, our server she was wonderful and made the experience what it was, a memorable great time. Then there was the food, prawn and scallop linguine like I have never had before with layers of flavour and perfect noodles. The pizza was to die for, the clam linguine was the best my wife had tasted. One of the specials was a rolled lasagna and it was top notch! Then there was the desserts the sticky toffee pudding and pumpkin cheese we all shared and loved with the Espresso, America-no coffee and special coffee a perfect ending. There was live music and even though it was full, the time between courses was reasonable. This is a must do restaurant highly recommended and don’t forget to get a reservation.

Very nice experience. Went we first came on, the place was pretty busy. We were offered a seat at the bar where the open kitchen is. It is absolutely amazing to see everyone cooking and ohhh my god, the food is delicious!! From Appies to the main course, incredibly good! Staff is amazing.

Made reservations for dinner last night. Reservations were simple and we got in and seated on time. Nice wine list and the food and service were amazing. Highly recommend giving this place a shot if you haven’t already! Best focaccia bread I’ve ever had!

I have had the pleasure of dining at Mattone's quite a few times since they have opened. The food is fantastic and flavourful, great potions! Love the share plates and pizzas for larger tables or a date night. The cocktails are on point! The staff are always friendly and welcoming, with great recommendations for wine pairings or just simply helping navigate the menu. And if you aren't too full after your meal the Tiramisu is MUST!

First time here. Got takeout and it was excellent. Staff were on the ball and very friendly. Pizza crust is very unique and satisfying. Pasta was perfect. Very happy to have this down the street!

Made a reservation that isn’t easy to do in the first place. Finally got in on September 7 and then they call to cancel because they need to go on holidays!!! Normally you know weeks up front you go on holidays and in that time frame you do not take any reservations. Really disappointed by the service and the way they deal with customers.

Best experience from start to finish! The service and food are top notch. Highlights included the chicken wings, scallop and prawn linguine, and the tiramisu. Melt in your mouth amazing. The garlic Parmesan dip is something you will want to eat with a spoon. I want to say though the service made it above and beyond the best dining experience I have had in a very long time.

We tried to get a reservation for wife's BD. Told to do it online but no success, twice with the same result. Called direct to phone# and we were told they only take res on line. Asked to make res for me, they would not. We went elsewhere

Took 20 minutes to get our drinks ordered and served to us, pasta tasted like packaged ramen noodles, severely overpriced, atmosphere lacked ambiance (underwhelming), felt more like a dining hall, servers were friendly. Not worth the hype unfortunately.

I went with a few friends from my bubble for dinner and had a lovely time. The waitress was attentive and we were quickly seated for our reservation. The drinks were were pretty good (the Mattone Blue Buck and the Matt-groni stood out). Dinner was served rather quickly, much to our pleasant surprise. I had "The Classic" pizza and thoroughly enjoyed it. The lobster risotto was also a big hit. The clam linguini received positive feedback as well. We all agreed we would come back, and perhaps next time I'll try the pasta myself.

The food is top-notch. My husband and I brought good friends for dinner tonight, and I have to say that it's just too loud. Friday night I know, but when you can barely hear people from across the same table, it does affect the dining experience. There was more balance when the restaurant had the in-between table walls, more privacy. The service was very underwhelming, I don't think we will return very soon.

Food was awesome we visited this past Saturday. I had the steak and wife had the lobster risotto. Steak was awesome great portion. Lobster risotto was delicious wished the tail was a bit bigger then then one she recieved but all in all great place with awesome food.

My wife and I celebrated our 40 th wedding anniversary at Mattone on Saturday October 16, 630 pm reservation .. From when we arrived the whole experience was ist class fantastic. Thank you to all the staff for making our evening simply wonderful. I will spread the news ,and we will be back soon .

Casual Italian dining with great service and amazing food that reminded us of when we were in Italy. We had the olives with the best focaccia bread(homemade) and harvest tomato salad with mozzarella Buffalo cheese seasoned just right. The white wine paired perfectly with the fresh pasta with clams followed by a great tiramisu. Would recommend to anyone and can’t wait to go back.
