Total disappointment!!! FOOD & Washrooms & beverage ???????????? Fake cheese on nachos? Gross Caesar, urine covering washroom floor ... Absolutely disgusting bathrooms unless you walk through the casino to those washrooms. They have a urinal as well as toilet in each and it's a gross mess! We ordered nachos and Caesar (alcoholic beverage), BOTH WERE TERRIBLE. The presentation of the nachos was good but we couldn't figure out what they used for cheese !!! It was very runny, and simply went right through to the bottom. Most of the chips were completely bare. It was the weirdest thing!!

My friend and l went camping near Cambell River and the weather got pretty bad so we couldn't set up camp but on the way there we found this casino and decided to stop and have some dinner. The service was great, the food was awesome, they have happy hr on their appetizers we were just offer bunch of plates and shared. We played some games watch some hockey and we got on their WiFi to plan our hikes along the golden river... We love it...

As it was my first time to be there to meet my friends, I was Happy. The Ambiance is good, there is Enough room for friends, live Music and I like the way they implemented safety rules to distance us from the rest of the crowd. But, my experience with food was not good. Maybe it was just once but, no, I will not go there if I am just going to eat. Better go somewhere else or cook at home. If it is to have fun with friends and Music, I would go back there.

Busy night, and we were a large group so it was expected that we’d have a bit of a wait. But no! I always had a full glass, food came promptly and everything ran smoothly! It was mine and my husbands first visit and we are looking forward to trying the happy hour menu before some blackjack in the future :)

The Match was a very nice place to eat lunch. Pros: Food presentation; Taste; Speed of service; Cleanliness; Patio appearance. Cons: Menu Price; Service was so so. Nothing to write home about. All in all, I will take my family back here any day. Good food, good selection and it’s clean. All I ask for in a restaurant.

Went on a Monday evening to get fish and chips. We waited 25 minutes then asked our server for a status report. The server told us there was only one staff member in the kitchen. We waited another 10 minutes then told our server to cancel our order. We understand the predicament of being short staffed but waiting that long for 2 orders of fish and chips is a little much. For the future if you know you're understaffed and that food will take a while let your patrons know before they order.

When you have double pepperoni pizza on your menu, the least you can do is put more than 10 thin slices of pepperoni on it!! When we questioned it, we were told that you will have to charge us for an extra topping if we want more pepperoni ....WTF??? I don't care what you charge for a pizza but at least fulfill what you promote. Our poor bartender was embarrassed to tell us this. Still miss March 21 service and menu. We are regular customers!!

After months and months of operation there’s still massive gaps in the service here. Too many hostesses and managers and not enough servers. Routinely seated and then left alone for 10, 15, 20 minutes as was the case again tonight. Food is really good, that’s the reason we keep giving them another chance, but it is beyond me as to why the servers don’t seem to know who is responsible for what table or even if you’ve been acknowledged yet. Empty drinks in front of customers = poor service. People moving to the bar just to get served = poor service. I don’t blame the staff, management has had more than enough tine to create and develop a culture of service. They have failed. Too bad. PS. Bartenders are great. Kitchen is great.

Nachos were weird with processed cheese. The ribs were meh (pop wont order again) the beef dip was seriously dried out, way over cooked, and not edible. The beer was good.. reply to Owner: NO we wont be back.. The meal means make or break, and the meal wasn't worth returning for.. The beer was good, because it was a Commercial Brewery.. You dont carry local beer, so even returning for a beer aint gonna happen.

Very satisfied. Even while mast places are offering a reduced menu,. The Match Eatery has a full menu and the choices were not only fun to read, but expansive in options. The waitress we had was super attentive and the meal arrived quickly and hot. The Covid19 procedures were adequate. Would recommend and will be back.

To start the service my girl friend and I received was horrible to say the least, she obviously had other tables that were of more importance as it took over 20 mins just to get our order placed. When our order arrived my poutine was warm not hot and the tacos were cold soooo not worth the price!! My girl friends meal was good but she wanted to get a refill of her drink but our server didn't wait long enough when she brought our food for her to ask and we had to try and flag down another server. The only great part was after I got up to find our server and order the dessert (wow they can make dessert as it was sooo tasty) was the best part of the whole experience. Sad note their seemed to be no manager around as we wanted to speak with someone but instead paid our not so worth it bill and left unhappy saying how neither of us would be back. As we left we saw the table of guys that clearly had our servers attention grrr. Got our servers name in the end by talking with someone else who works there who wasn't surprised of our experience.

This place is ok. The chicken wings were nice but the choice of sauce isn't very original. The portion are rather small though and so it felt overpriced. The service was the weirdest. We had to deal with at least half a dozen different staff members. As soon as we got our wings a lady came and ask how was everything? Which is standard right? but how about you let me try the food first then ask me how it is?!?!. Then, we got asked to pay our bill even if we were finished but the waitress was going home or something and then we had to order the dessert with another person and pay another bill. This is really inconvenient for the guests, it feels disorganised and results in a bad service in my opinion.

Enjoy going here to watch UFC fights but have called to make a reservation for two people (not fussy, at the bar, at a table, wherever) and have been told that reservations are not accepted. Showed up today, only to be turned away from sitting at the bar because there was a reservation...? This is very confusing as we called to make a reservation and were told they were not accepted. We were told the reservation was for a staff member. Okay, I'm sure the staff member receives a discounted rate but we are full price paying customers that are being turned away for a staff member. We were finally able to get a table only to be told we could not exit through the main door to use the washroom (the in restaurant washrooms had a 10 person line up) but had to walk around outside the building. The staff are amazing, never had anything but amazing service but feel like every time we come here, it's a battle to get through the management to get a table. Do you want local customers or not because I'm getting the impression that management's answer is NO.

Last time I was in Campbell River for the night (Summer 2017) I stopped in to the Casino/Coasters Bar&Grille. Was very inviting great staff and prices were on point and food was satisfying. I came again to the island for business and stopped by, now it is a Match (similar to whats on the mainland) $6.80 for a bottle of beer? Pretty crazy considering the rest of town was significantly less. I ordered one of their pizzas, honestly it was very disappointing. Should be advertised as child size actually. All and all, seems to have lost the smaller town feel think they missed the mark here. Outdoor patio was nice though.

Matches is a chain of casinos and restaurants with locations in Campbell River and Courtenay. It was a fun night, after 9pm drinks are half price. We ordered 2 bottles of wine and some beers and the bill was only $65. We didn't eat there but its typical Canadian fare. There was a live band and dancing. A very fun night and cheap too! One last thing, it's not a traditional casino, mostly slots which doesn't float our boat.

Went there to watch the UFC. We got a table right away and steps were taken to ensure everyone who came early to get a table got a clear view of the monitors and there wasn't a standing crowd for the main event. Food was delicious, service top notch and kudos to the man in the kitchen who served the entire restaurant got a complimentary deep bowl of piping hot fresh pasta. We drove up from Qualicum and Comox for the second time to watch the UFC because the service was much the same the first time we went.

I stopped in to grab a bite to eat and I watch a bit of the hockey game. The entire experience was delightful - the staff (and patrons actually) were friendly and competent. As mentioned in other reviews, the staff had a diligent approach to managing covid protocols and making me feel comfortable - cleaning, masks and separations were some of the best I’ve seen without sacrificing a good pub experience. The Canucks game was interesting enough but my attention soon focused to the brier game between Quebec and NONT, where I couldn’t get my eyes off the Quebec second, who looks like a cross between Frankie MacDonald and Justin Bieber. Big triple in the third end to snuff any potential threats, I had the Car Hop sliders appetizer and hot wings. The sliders were the bomb, and hit the spot, I’d go without wings next time they were so good. I realize Match is a chain but they do have some local beers on tap, leading me to state that in the Courtenay area it’s a recommended stop to put into your rotation for a bite to eat and to watch a little curling

We came in on a Wednesday to meet friends we had not seen forever. ...quite busy! Happy hour prices are great. $5 draft and half price wine. Weds is Pasta night. I had the rigatoni which was pretty good, not a huge serving but quite rich. Delicious fresh dense bread...really nice. Not gourmet food but you aren't paying gourmet prices either. Glad to see they have Ace Brewing products. One of our friends had the poutine which she loved. A huge serving. Our server was Ashley who we really liked...a bit on the sassy side. She gave me a hard time because I didn't eat all my rigatoni...all in good fun. Will definitely be back soon!

Ordered from Skip this weekend and the food is pretty disappointing for the steep prices. The veggie burger was mushy and unseasoned - the gravy tastes like dirty dishwater (completely inedible). A $16 meal that I ate the fries and threw the rest out. $8 for a tiny piece of cake that had obviously been sitting out - not fresh at all. Don't waste your money here.

I cannot say enough about this venue we planned my sisters 50th birthday here and they offered us an amazing spot outside in the heated patio area which we were really looking forward to using but due to inclement weather and a severe snowstorm which happened on 15 January they had to move us into a warmer spot inside the restaurant they were so accommodating and so amazing. I highly recommend this venue for work functions and special parties ...the general manager was incredible and created a specialized menu for our friends to order from. And the bartender and server were fantastic... Getting our drinks and our meals out in record time. All the meal options were fantastic and tasty ... we had six different meals offered to us under a selected menu which incorporated all the different needs for all the various dietary types of people that we had at the party. Big shout to their chef!

My daughter and I shared a meal here recently, definitely the best meal I've had in recent months. Food was underwhelming when we came some food under seasoned, some was over seasoned. Most was over cooked, but came in a month before the food was good. So it could of just been a off night. Every time I've gone servers have been nice.

Really good! We had never visited this place before. We decided to try it on a whim and it paid off huge. I was expecting garbage food and service because it's in a casino but the service was fast and friendly and the food was excellent for the prices. The prices were not high, definitely affordable for the fare they offered and they offer hugely discounted theme days where you can get some items for under 50% of the original price. It took a standard amount of time to receive our food and was quiet but the quality of it was worth the wait. We've yet to try it when there are packed tables but otherwise it was a fantastic experience and we'll be back.

What a joke. Family day and kids eat free. You are a sports bar and eatery in a casino, not a freaking Chuckie Cheese. Kids were running through the restaurant unsupervised bumping into people and screaming. At one time there were 15 kids around the pool table jamming the tips of the pool cues into the felt and tossing the pool balls onto the floor. To top it all off the food was well below par. We ordered the fish and chips and the fries were small and cold, the coleslaw warm and tasteless and the fish totally overdone. The servers were run off their feet trying to work around all the children. We never did get the malt vinegar that we requested and our beer arrived after we finnished with our meal. We told our server about our complaints but she only said sorry as she dropped the beer on the table and fled. Anyway a terrible experience today and a total waste of $65.00, but hell the kids got a free meal.

Absolutely terrible service. I was in there with a larger table yes, so I expected it to be slower. However, we all ordered the same time, everyone received their food except for my wife. All she ordered was chicken wings(which many had the same thing). It was very clear the waitress had forgotten to put her wings in. My wife ended up waiting for an hour for a plate of wings, everyone had finished eating before she finally received her food. No compensation for this, no apology and they had the audacity to blame it on "the way the order's go in". I brought it up with the manager, and was told she would look into the issue and I would get a call soon. It has now been 2 weeks without a word from them. Would not recommend, save your money and go elsewhere.
