It's like the place wants to be "fine dining" but also wants to appeal to the "working man" by giving huge plates full of food. The rack of lamb was quite good, but due to their penchant for volume the presentation was more that of a diner than a fine dining establishment, with heaps of food piled onto a plate. The service was very slow with the waitress looking a little harassed while remaining pleasant enough.

The service was friendly, calling in our reservations I got a very nice, fun and helpful gentleman. The chicken cordon blue was a good portion and very tasty.

Poor Service. Rude owner. Unlike Debi A's experience with the owner ignored us and took a couple that he recognized to a table before us. We had a reservation, and had arrived before the other couple and even though we pointed out that we were there before the others he shrugged our comment off. When we said you've just lost two customers he said 'Don't bother coming back' I can't speak to the food quality but the owner's attitude was dismissive and rude.

Harbour Grill is a nice fancy restaurant for the area. The menu is a little outdated with item like oysters rockefeller, escargot bourguignonne, and chicken cordon Bleu. I ordered the spinach salad and it was literally a bag or grocery store spinach dumped directly on a plate with a couple tomatoes - not even washed. We ordered some oysters on the half shell and they were filled with bits of she'll shards and the oyster was not detached from the shell. The mignonette was just red wine vinegar. All of our meals were over done and dried out - likely because they were sitting under a hot lamp forever. My father sent his steak back as it was well done (not med-rare as ordered). We were told from the chef that this type of steak can't be cooked med-rare because of the type of cut!! It is a fancy restaurant but would never go back.

Food was fine but the wait was un acceptable. Waited 20 minutes for oysters and another hour and 20 minutes for our main course. Would have liked to be told that the cook staff hadn't showed up for work.

Super delicious dinner, once again. I preordered duck and it was perfection. Crispy skin. Tender and medium rare. Thank you for going out of your way to make that especially for my birthday. Plus the veggies were excellent. Did I mention my favorite appetizer? Stuffed mushrooms. Yummy. Good service. Warm, welcoming atmosphere. My favourite restaurant in Campbell River.

Really enjoyed the food: steak, medium-rare, was right on the mark; seafood gratin was delicious, prawns and scallops cooked perfectly; super fresh bread rolls, and even the butter was extra tasty. Unfortunately let down by very slow service from the kitchen. Waiting over one hour for our main course (no appetizers) is not compatible with fine dining. Our servers were great, and they deserve better. For these prices, I deserve better. Management - you need to look into your kitchen right now and fix this.

I had the chipotle filet mignon steak, medium rare, with potatoes and veggies. It was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had, it was perfectly cooked, tender and super flavourful. The sauce was delicious as well, not to spicy but it had a bit of a kick. Service was good as well, our server came to check on us often enough and made sure to top up our wine each time. Also employees are very friendly as well. Very nice!

Fantastic dinner out. Mushroom caps for appetizers were delicious. Had the Madagascar steak for the main, medium, and it was one of the most tender and fantastic steaks I have ever had. Scott and his staff were incredibly friendly and felt sincere the whole time. Great night out.

5 of us went for dinner. My sister ordered a lobster tail with her meal but when the meal came out they said the had taken the order wrong and were out of lobster. My mother salmon with chipotle and capers but they gave her a maple glaze. Their solution was to add the chipotle sauce to the dish they gave her, but there were too many flavours so we asked them to take it back. They offered to give my mom halibut but the rest of the table were halfway through their meal. She declined. They did not charge us for the lobster or my mother’s meal.

Just finished an absolutely perfect meal! Perfectly cooked steaks, Caesar salad with all the intricate flavours that it should have and perfect service. Portions were substantial and would satisfy any hunger. Don't let the location deceive you from trying this dining experience.

Quite disappointed. Wife is usually more forgiving than I, will never go back. Vegetables dried out like they had been left in oven forever. Best thing about visit was waiter... Best server I've ever had in CR. Did a great job, anticipated our needs perfectly. He was the.only reason we didn't complain about the food.

Delicious food, very busy and was a bit loud to carry on conversations but there were 2 work parties going on. The Crab stuffed mushrooms were very good, highly recommended. The staff was very friendly and had great service. Great place to get dinner.

Amazing meal and incredible service. The seafood is amazing and cooked perfectly, and the staff was very attentive and on point. There were two HUGE parties (10+ people each) there at the same time as my wife and I, and we were treated spectacularly and with no disruption in our experience - I was impressed.

This was the best dining experience I've had in Campbell River. Every dish was incredible. It tasted fantastic, sweet and now I want to go back and have more of it. Honestly, this is probably the best restaurant in the entire town. The prices might seem alittle high but trust me, it's entirely worth it! I had food there for a late Christmas party in January. It's February now and I feel that I haven't had anything considered "good food" since. It's a bit depressing.

Excellent, friendly, professional service and the food was top notch across the board. 2 people at our table have been in the Hospitality industry for 30+ years in Victoria and this is definitely a dinner to remember. The service is amazing. We just got back from there now. The gentleman that brought us in was fantastic. Our server was polite and courteous. But the gentleman came back to our table at least five or six times to ensure that everything was perfect. We had two younger kids (8 and 7 years old) with us and he made them feel very comfortable. Truly an amazing experience. I can not express how great it was. On top of that the food was cooked to perfection. I had steak and the kids had pasta. The steak was cooked perfectly. I thank you wholeheartedly especially to the gentleman. Fantastic customer service!!

As an avid cook and someone who enjoys food and food culture I was a tad let down. The food was passable and not horrible but also for the price point I felt that it missed the mark. I would also add that the service and serving staff is top notch and we're incredibly pleasant and attentive. 17 dollars for 6 one inch cremini mushroom caps with some cream cheese, a bit of crab and shrimp then some butter and gratin like cheese topping is outrageous. 20 dollars for 6 small to medium sized oysters - of which some had shells that weren't cleaned properly - was also outrageous. The feature chowder was pretty good, I understand that different people like different things in their England clam chowder so I won't get into that, but the broth was flavorful and the portion of Halibut, clams and shrimp was reasonable.

We have our staff Christmas party here each year, and we are never disappointed. Scott and his incredible staff, go above and beyond for us. The meal and service are always top notch. This is one of the best places to eat in Campbell River.

GREAT FOOD!!!!!! Can be considered expensive but well worth every dollar spent there. This place is opened daily at 5:30pm Tuesday through Sunday (Fall hours only) Reservations are highly recommended and you will find the restaurant in the Discovery Shopping Centre (112 - 1334 Island Highway) The menus here feature a wide variety of dishes. They serve AAA Sterling Silver steaks, chicken, veal, duck, lamb as well as freshly sourced seafood featuring Halibut, Salmon, Dungeness Crab, Oysters and other shellfish. Vegetarian??? Gluten-free??? ..... NO PROBLEM, as both options are available. Do not forget the dessert menu after enjoying a delicious meal. The staff are well dressed, great people who are well versed with tons of knowledge concerning the food, atmosphere, and the town. They are very courteous and helpful to all that dine here.

We had reservations for 5:45pm for my husband and I and our 3 year old. We ordered our drinks, appetizer, and mains all at once. We were served our drinks and waited 30-40 mins for the appetizer. My toddler was getting restless as the food was taking so long and she was hungry. We were in and out of the public washroom as she is potty training and had to use the potty multiple times during COVID as the wait for the food was getting longer and longer. Tables who arrived after us were served their food before us, large and small tables. Finally at the 1hour and 20 minute mark we decided to make a complaint about the wait and noticed people getting served before us, where was our food? At 1hr and 40 mins we finally paid the bill for our drinks and appetizer which was $87.00, no compensation was mentioned for having to leave the restaurant without eating! It was 7:45pm by the time we left....I asked to speak to the manager and was ignored as no one knew who was in charge. Finally when he did arrive his exact words were "your dam right you pay for your drinks!" He had no care or empathy for the amount of time we spent waiting, no empathy for having a 3 year old who had to use the public potty during Covid and not eat her food, and he was extremely rude and unkind. This was a horrible experience and it is clear that they will tag you with a bill for your drinks but have no concern about the wait for your food. Also the larger tables were being served first because that would mean a bigger tip for them. Extremely unprofessional and a horrible experience. After reading previous reviews it is clear that this is a common occurrence for this place. Save your time and your money.

Both my wife and I went here for her surprise birthday dinner. June 9 2015. We have just moved here, Campbell River BC from Edmonton Alberta and it was also our first night out with out our son. The food was completely AMAZING!!! We wouldn't get enough. We both found ourselves cleaning the plates off with our warm covered served bread. As we both where hoping for more but simply had no room to eat more. The staff there was kind, respectful, well dress, you couldn't ask for better service. I'm not one to make a post on google but simply had too. If your on the hunt for a really AMAZING food with TOP service then please come down to these guys. Gord Ramsay would be impressed!!! We will be back for more and we will tell others and we have. My family from Edmonton will be coming by and will be making stops right here at Harbour Grill. Thank you for such amazing service and your AMAZING food. Big thank you!!!

Great service and yummy food. However due to the costly pricing at this establishment I thought the food would taste better. I had the salmon and it was oversalted and overcooked. Meal was mediocre for $35 a main dish. My partner said the crab was amazing though and the escargots for an appetizer were really delectable. Drinks were tasty as well. I think maybe it was an off night?? Good place for special occasions
