Nice cozy place with great food, we randomly picked it for dinner passing by as the patio had a nice view. Everyone was nice and friendly. We ordered the Santorini for two but could not finish it and left over was enough for the next day lunch. The chef paid us a visit to check if we like the food. A bit pricy but the quality and portion size was worth it.

We saw all the great reviews online and thought we had to try Fifty Parallel. From the moment we entered we were greeted with courteous and friendly staff. Our waitress was outstanding. The menu is quite varied and when we saw and smelled each plate that came out to neighbouring tables we almost couldn’t decide. So, we tried several Greek share plates. They were all top drawer. Great flavour, ample sizes and delicious. Can’t wait to come back to the North Island and try the pasta, or the steaks, or!!! Plus, the beer taps are legit. And finally, we met Peter as we were leaving. Great night out!

Last night I had the privilege of eating at The 50th Parallel. Before sitting to eat we were greeted by the amazing staff who were prompt, polite, & carried an amazing energy throughout the night. We had ordered 3 appetizers & 2 mains. For our appetizers we recieved delicious halibites, perfectly seasoned pork bites, & the most delectable tzatziki dip we have ever tasted along side some fluffy bread. For our mains we ordered the 8 oz steaks that came along with some rice & roasted vegetables. The steaks were perfectly cooked to our liking. If I could describe this establishment it would be the way Marshall Eriksen describes the best burger in Newyork on the show How I Met Your Mother. Hats off to the Owner, Chef & Staff. Thank you for a wonderful night with awesome food & great company.

Place went downhill. Seems like the owner is cheaping out on ingrediants. Food was bland. Didnt even get garlic bread with the 12 dollar Ceasar salad just a few bacon crumbs. Lasagna was not far from grocery store quality. Service was good.

My rant about the 50th parallel tap and Grill I only gave them one star because they only gave me one lobster tail we ordered in a large Caesar salad three lobster tails New York steak with roasted potatoes and veggies and a piece of baklava we got one lobster tail no roasted potatoes with my steak and they took $100 gift card leaving them $23 tip for a meal that was shipped out wrong The seasoning on the steak was good but I couldn’t eat the steak there’s too much gristle and to tough

A local favorite! Peter and his team take pride in the experience they deliver to their customers and it shows. The large menu offers a wide variety of delicious food varying from vegan options, to modern pub style food, to steakhouse type food, to their immensely popular Greek food. The menu options will ensure that there is something for everyone. The atmosphere is wonderful, and the staff are lovely, funny, and very personable. Peter also makes his rounds to visit each table and ensure that his guests are happy. 10/10 recommend.

This restaurant is fantastic in every way. The food is consistently delicious and the staff are wonderful. Obviously, the owner, Peter, has hand picked and guided them all to be professional and amazing. He sets a fine example by visiting every table to check with each patron. Now that is class!!! In these crazy Covid times the restaurant and staff have continually adapted to provide scrumptious dishes in every way possible with the ever changing rules. Thank you all for that. To top it off, the setting is beautiful and the view spectacular. If you haven't already, check out their patio and enjoy it all or just go for pick up/ delivery. I have never been disappointed. I'm happy to support our local businesses in these tough times.

The atmosphere and service is top notch, some of the menu items are excellent: tuna poke, Mac and cheese, salmon burger, yet others are a bit bland: fish and chips and pizza. I recommend this place for a date or celebration as I always leave feeling satisfied and happy. The ocean views are a bonus!

From the exterior and sign saying, ‘tap and grill’, we were expecting just pub food. Our experience was such a welcomed surprise from what we had thought was going to be a boring meal. Modern urban decor, personable staff, and amazing food! When I mentioned that my rare rib eye was a little chewy, he asked me to trust him and have the steak redone to a medium rare/medium to help render the fats more (or something like that.) He was right - my steak was heavenly after that! Our seafood chowder was equally mouth-watering. Our server was enthusiastic and loyal to this restaurant, stating that he had been with them for a decade now. Definitely will return!

Mussaka was good but overpriced for the quantity you receive (a tiny square), and when my friend (gluten free) asked if they your replace the pita bread for potatoes, they said it would be an extra $2 or $3, the Falafel bowl came with almost no dressing, or maybe nothing at all which was disappointing as I love tahini dressing but I couldn't taste it and the Seafood pasta had no flavor at all. The place is pretty and the service was good, but the price / quality wasn't aligned at all.

This place is pretty trendy, they have a beautiful patio and plenty of indoor space. The food was alright. The souvlaki was good, but the corn and rice were dry and it didn’t come with a Greek salad like most place serve it. I’ll come back to try another dish.

We went there for the first time the other night with some friends that were in from out of town. Having just moved to the area we are searching out our favourite spots and 50 Parallel is going to be one of our new favourite places. The owner, Peter came over to our table multiple times to make sure everything was going smoothly. Even though they were understaffed they still did a fantastic job. The food was wonderful and the environment was great. We can't wait to go back again!

Take out order, braised beef comfort bowl, $19.75 .Went for the mashed potatoes instead of rice. Picked up, ready on time. Once home opened the takeout container and it looked like a frozen dinner, we had an ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes, 3 pieces of carrot, one piece of broccoli and a scoop size chunk of meat. Potatoes tasted fine, nothing special, carrots and broccoli were fine, beef was bland, nothing special. Disappointed after reading the good reviews, will not be going back!

Feddues pub this is not, beer overpriced, only sell sleeves, food okay, absolutely no character, place is dark and dingy, this us nite a pub, all tables and angles in tap house are straight lines or perpendicular, very sterile atmosphere....not sure what the new owner was "going for".....this is CR, big trucks, red necks and camouflage...no wings specials, black label draft, seafood chowder, where did the boat go ? DISAPPOINTED

Opening night the food was great, service was prompt. One week later --- ordered the same meal, food was greasy, over done, service was slow. Talked to the owner, he apologized and gave a discount, but that hardly made up for the lousy food. Any other place would have removed it from the bill. It will be a long time before we go back.

Fifty Parallel has been our go-to for our family take-out. Our last experience was with an early Mother’s Day outdoor dinner. The Greek ribs are always amazing and we also had the lamb, chicken bowl, seafood fettucine and the filet mignon which were enjoyed by all. Oh and of course the Ekmek and Baklava is out of this world. Peter and his team go over and above to make every take-out a gold medal performance. And I really appreciate them being able to deal with food allergies!! And thanks to Cassandra too for making the ordering experience a breeze. We’re very thankful they’ve been able to continue this amazing service during this crazy time and we’re looking forward to the return of indoor dining so we can enjoy Fifty Parallel’s outstanding food and service in person!

First time there since the renovation. Disappointed, meat was tough, veggies much too undercooked but in all fairness, the taste was scrumptious. On a good note, our concerns were noted by head honcho in the kitchen, he came to our table with apology and asked that we give them a second chance and he took 50% off our bill. Delicious food, friendly service (and excellent recommendations).. Great beachside location, too! The maui shrimp tacos, smoky BBQ wings, and spinach pie pizza are all highly recommended. Our 13 yo raved about the burger too, but take that with a grain of salt since he goes bananas over any burger. It did look pretty good for the split second before it vanished down his throat, however.

This is our go-to "special" place. Formerly Akropolis Kuizina at Merecroft, the move to the lower highway has not changed the wonderful Greek food they offer. The night we were there, they were out of ekmek (our favourite dessert), which was very, very sad, but the ribs and saganaki were still the best.

I rarely go out, however this is my favourite go-to spot! The atmosphere is great with such friendly staff, not to mention the food is always superb. Peter always comes out to ensure everything is perfect. Each time I go to Fifty Parallel Tap and Grill, I have peace of mind knowing that customer satisfaction is always their top priority. I have a hard time veering from my top favourite dishes - tzatziki and pita (or dolmathes) for an appetizer, chicken souvlakia for dinner and ek mek to finish it off. I am always impressed with their wide range of rotating tap as well :)

great location and renovation. It's a shame that there are no barstools for the beautiful wooden bar. A "tap room" needs a sit up bar. Beer prices were high, no happy hour specials. But will be back to try the dinner menu soon. edit, came back 4 months later for an after work beer..still no barstools at the spacious bar...again might want to rethink the "tap house" branding. Didn't bother to see if there were happy hour specials, just walked out. SoCal can continue to have my and my coworkers after work business for drinks and nappies.

Delicious wings...nice and crispy and a wonderful peanut sauce. We also had pizza, delicious as well with a grest amount of toppings. The owner was fabulous, gave exactly what I was looking for on my pizza, bacon, mushrooms, peppers and onions. TYVM! I had a B52 coffee and it was perfect. Hot and delicious. Great staff...someone outside welcoming everyone and telling us how the flow works for ordering and seating. The server behind the counter taking our order was polite, friendly and did her job awesome. Ty to everyone here. We will be back again and telling our friends all about you. Looking forward to trying some Greek food next.

I have eaten in this restaurant on more than one occasion. The food and portions have been awesome. I've NEVER had a bad meal or negative experience there. The staff are absolutely awesome and doing their best to deal with the stuff that's going on right now. It's important to support the local economy now more than ever. I will be.

First time visit - great food and service. We didn't have a reservation and really lucked out and got the last unreserved table! We started off with the most amazing fries, shoestring potatoes with garlic, parmesan and olive oil. The Greek platter was loaded ????. Fall off the bone lamb, crisp calamari and fabulous spanakopita! The service was stellar. We left feeling full and spoiled ????.

The food here is incredible, the patio is beautiful with the ocean only a few metres away. The staff are super friendly and attentive. The draft beer menu has many of my favourites. Pro tip: Get the Peanut Butter Dumplings as an appy... Out. Of. This. World.

So disapointed. Great location wonderful views but service and food are REALLY bad. 21 bucks for one skewer of chicken, small potato, rice and a tiny dessert bowl of a soggy greek salad.The food was delivered cold and Waitress walked away , we had to ask for silverware. Might be good place for a drink and overpriced appy but dont plan a nice meal here as you will be disapointed.

The best meal I've had in ages! This place is a not so hidden gem on the waterfront. I was so impressed with the friendly, helpful wait staff and the clean warm atmosphere. The owner/cook was so gracious and came round the tables to check on the enjoyment of his guests, just wonderful. I was informed he treats his staff like family, and that matters in this world. The food itself was juicy, crispy, homemade in all the right places. The drinks were fantastic, and if you're a beer person there is so many eclectic choices. Try the homemade ceasar salad dressing and the burbon bbq burgers! I will certainly be back.

To put things simply; the foods well made and priced rather affordably. Also, the staff really care about you experience here and it's not uncommon for the owner to come out and talk to you during the meal. Give them a shot, you wont regret it!

FIFTY is one of my favourite restaurants! The service is always great! The food is amazing and the owner/chef always comes out to greet and say hello. Hands down my favourite place. It has great views of the ocean. One time when we were sitting on the patio, we seen orcas going through the channel!

This is a really lively place with a great atmosphere. Please don't be put off by the waiting time if you haven't reserve a table - it's not long and it's absolutely worth it! Marina soon found me a table and the service by Kaarina was outstanding! The food was fresh and super tasty, and the local ale and cider offerings are fantastic. I wouldn't hesitate to come here again.

We were at the tap and grill recently we were seated inside very nosy the person at tending the bar was slamming the cooler doors. We ask if possible to move to another table. We were told there were not tables available. 1 table sat empty for the 45 minutes we were there. We informed Peter the owner he was belligerent with us. After we get into our car to leave he followed us out to the parking lot and continued give up a bad time. We won't be going back and we pass on to friends about how rude he was
