Excellent food, big portions, casual, comfortable, classic old style diner atmosphere. The waitress was awesome and the cook came out and asked us how we liked the food while we were paying which spoke volumes to me about how much she cares. I am a burger connoisseur and a bit of a food blogger and this place is in my top 5 on Vancouver Island. Will definitely be back to try other menu items.

Great staff, good food. Everything was fast and tasty except the poutine, which was actually just shredded cheese with gravy and fries instead of a poutine, still paid for it and ate some, but it wasn't a poutine. Otherwise everything is always great.

Turning away customers is not good practice under any circumstances. lts not the right choice to not let certain people dine in because of their beliefs or health status. Under the canadian charter of rights this is 100% illegal. You cannot discriminate anyone from using the restraunt. What the government is doing is asking buisnesses to inforce a mandate which violates the charter as well as international human rights and privacy laws. No law or mandate supersedes the charter, and if it does, its null and void. The government has failed to tell you (and all of us) that part. This opens your buisness up to discrimination as well as privacy lawsuits. If you discriminate, you can be liable for violating these rights. The government wont help you if this happens. Do the right thing

Damn tasty food! Had the breakfast and the cheddar bacon burger. All excellent food and good prices! 8 month update: breakfast isn't as good as it used to be. The sausages are different (maple syrup flavor I think), and the rye toast wasn't. Went from 5 stars to 3 stars in my opinion.

No line up at the front door, like on the weekend's! On entering the door you must use sanitizer on your hands, also make sure to wear your mask! On a rating of 1-10, I'd give them a 6! The service to speak of, was fair! My Father ordered the Duke's Breakfast, I ordered the Duke's Cheese Burger! His Bacon was crisp, eggs a little over cooked, & his hash browns! Where cold, I requested my burger to hardly have any sauce on it, & it came smothered; lots of onions! And cheddar cheese, the burger was smaller than the bun! My fries where so cold, it wasn't funny; the server was more interested in sitting customer's! Or taking their order's, to come back and ask how are meals where! And our drinks, where so-so! Father had tea, had to request sugar packets; that weren't on the table! And my Ginger-Ale was flat like it had any carbonation in it..

I had breakfast. No hours posted on door but lady saw me and came out told me they opened at 8am. Breakfast was good. Only thing I didnt like was plates food served on were a little too small for all the food put on one plate. Breakfast was $11.99. I give them 9/10.

We went in forms cheap lunch....we got the best fish and chips we've had. I've been in the cooking industry for close to 35 years. The fish was crispy, the swc9ndnpiece held its crispness until I was ready to eat him. My mother was full and sent me a third piece, that too was crispy still. Fish moist not oily, coleslaw needed np salt or pepper and the service was prompt and very courteous... 2 for 1 specials Thursday is fish and chips 2 drinks 20.99 cod 22.99 halibut...wednesdays is steak i think. I'll be back for sure. Tip the cook directly too...

Well first Off. . . Kerren Service was ... Amazing ???? Like not over bearing, No hovering Just Right Are Waitress Offered us are seat of choice proceeded to immediately Take are drink orders. ... I was Thirsty She brought us are drinks noted we were still looking at the menus told us the specials and Soup Of the day. We ordered an entree 6 oz Steak and Steak and Eggs She offered us are choice of sides and recommended substitute soup for salad. So we both ordered soup Upon receiving the soup she notified us there would be no charge as it was the end of the day and also offered the side salad potatoes seasonal vegetables or any other side substitutes Moving forward we got the side of soup And The Soup was again amazing ! We received are steak Entree and Steak Breakfast Medium /MedRare were Done to order and we decided they should Rebrand as Dukes Breakfast Steak ???? House They plated The meals With what you could see was Pride carrots and Brussel sprouts were the seasonal Vegetables (good choice in December) carrots were nice not crispy but had a slight crunch "Al dente "carrots so to say ???? Brussel sprouts also on point the Breakfast was cooked to Standard Eggs hash browns and Toast. ...was the Sour Dough baked in house ? we continue are Meal and the Waitress offered us a chat between keeping us very content she was just Delightful And I could have kissed The Cook ????‍???? As you can see i took the Time to write an Essay on this Fine Diner dining experience . Im an absolute Kerren and would have Typically Torn the local Boston Pizza or moxies Apart , but this place did not even skip a beat . Are Best Dining Experience In Campbell River Thank You Dukes Yours truly Another "Kerren" ????‍♂️

We always forget about Dukes because of where it is. It's just out of our usual putzing around area so we dont think about it. Unfortunate for us because they have excellent food. I had a bacon cheeseburger this afternoon and it was just great. And i love their fries. Totally recommend stopping in. Pretty sure most, if not all of their food is made from scratch.

I can not give this place a higher score than 3 stars as it seems to have gone downhill especially the food. I ordered a beef dip and when it was brought to my table I was curious what was the food on my plate was. Let me try to explain ...... The bread was awful, as it was crunchy and stale tasting; the roast beef was non existent (a few small pieces of dried out meat); the beef dip liquid was salty and did not taste like real au juice but gravy and finally the french fries were over done and tasted like nothing.

Stopped by for lunch, and I’d recommend the place. Their burgers are delicious - they have tons of great options to choose from, I got the hamburger with mushrooms and a side of salad; portions are generous - I had a hard time finishing my burger, good thing I got salad and not fries; prices are great and their service is very friendly. I’d gone on a weekend and though it was busy, it wasn’t full (didn’t have to wait). I liked their vibe too, looked like an old school diner from the 80s. Would definitely go again if I’m in the area!

Have you ever waited 50 minutes for 3 2inch pieces of fish. We ask for extra tartar sauce they bring some store stuff that's like a couple years old with gelatin on the top in a package. You might fool the usual people that come in but seriously step it up. Do you think the Duke would ever eat here....
