Our son arranged a birthday dinner for my husband and I at the Keg. Our first indoor dining experience since covid and it did not disappoint. Sam, our server was the perfect mix of funny, extremely helpful and unobtrusive. She truly went above and beyond. We had escargot, which had a curry/mustardy flavour that really took it to another level. Our prime rib dinners were enormous and cut like butter. The garlic mashed potatoes have always been a favourite but, as excellent as the food is, it's really the service that makes the Keg special and from the warmth of the greeting as you enter, to the amazing wait staff, it makes any occasion into a special occasion

Great staff, very knowledgeable and willing to offer their personal opinion when your turn between a few menu items (always good to know what people like). Food was delicious and came out on time, not a long wait in between appetizers and main course, just enough to have your stomach settle and get ready for more yummy food! I always enjoy the teriyaki steak, it's my go-to steak, I only wish the stuffed baked potato didn't have green onion mixed inside the stuffing, I would love to have it since I like the garlic mashed potatoes and liked stuffed baked potatoes but not green onion.

I was very excited to do date night at the Keg this past Saturday as we haven’t been out since the lockdown started back in December and the Keg is our favourite restaurant in town and we used to go there very often pre-lockdown. Unfortunately I was very disappointed with our meals this time around. I ordered my usual filet with twice baked potato and my boyfriend ordered the prime rib. I received my meal and the steak was cooked perfectly but I must say it was tiny! They advertise 7oz and as person that’s into fitness and weighs their food regularly I know what 7oz of protein should look like and this wasn’t it. The twice baked which is my favourite usually was not cooked properly. Only the top was soft and the mid to bottom of the potato was hard which is not usually the case. My boyfriends meal was far worse. His prime rib looked like a gelatinous mess. It wasn’t even hot, very fatty and gelatin like in appearance. When we told our server this is not what we remember the prime rib looking like. She said it looked like that because it was cooked rare. Which we understand but it doesn’t explain the coldness or jelly like texture. My boyfriend isn’t a complainer so he told me to let it go and just ate it. I ate my steak and only the top of my potato but was not satisfied at all with the meal. Very disappointed that the quality of the food has gone down so significantly. This used to be my favourite place. I will probably not be visiting again.

Unfortunately not worth the money at the moment. I know all restos are having hard times during the pandemic but I went to another patio resto earlier this week and it was great....if you're dining at the keg now be prepared VERY limited menu. NO fresh bread. INCREASED prices. My favourite teriyaki steak was not on the menu so I was told by waitress the sirloin was basically the same. It was tough with unchewable fatty pieces that I had to spit out....so gross. NO veggies - some inedible gross baked tomato with parm cheese. For people that are expecting the normal Keg experience, you will be so sadly disappointed. Service was slow but that was the least of my worries :(

Awesome bar service and drinks, however the food has taken a huge dip in quality since Cara assumed ownership over the franchise. The steaks really aren't anything special for a steakhouse. Realistically you can get a comparable steak at a Lonestar or Montana's. It's definitely not worth the price for what you get anymore.

Refusing to accept reservations on a Saturday is extremely poor customer service. When someone takes the trouble to reach out to you directly and arrange ahead of time to come and spend money at your restaurant, refusing to reserve a table for them sends message that their business just isn't important enough to be bothered.

I dine at the Keg approximately 100 times per year. This was my very first visit to this location. All I can say is that the food was far better than the usual Keg locations that I frequent. When I complimented the chef the manager simply stated that they are just following the recipe. That stated I guess that all the other kegs need to step up to this locations standard. Tried take out. Set my order up for 5PM.picked up at exactly 5PM and it was ready. So far so good. Got home. We ordered 4 steaks, all medium rare. Cut them open, beyond well done, dry, and steak were black on both sides. I'm assuming left unattended on the grill too long, or they haven't got their timing down, from order, to pickup and just put them on the grill too soon, and served them anyways. Won't do take out with the Keg again.

We were here for my birthday dinner tonight and I found the air conditioning quite cool for me. Even though I had a long sleeved shirt on, I was freezing!! The dining room manager offered her sweater to me! Made my night! I didn't get her name but thought that was just so sweet of her! Exceptional service. Amazing food. There was a slight error with our food (mistakes happen) and the manager Josh came out spoke to us and fixed everything, he even took it off the bill. Very pleased with the way the tackled the situation. Even after I offered to pay for what I ate he insisted that everything is on him, which we very much appreciated. I don't have words to express my gratitude. Not only that, our server Helena was amazing, she was very friendly and professional, she recommended an amazing dessert (also on them). Overall an amazing experience. Both Helena and Josh went an extra mile to make sure everything was perfect. Definitely will be going back, and recommending this specific location to my friends and family.

Our first visit back post COVID restrictions. Service is always good. The food however was just poor. Potatoes smaller than a baseball, rubbery and tasteless (I don’t even know where you would buy baking potatoes that small). My wife got a 6 oz sirloin that looked like an overcooked hamburger and was 30% fat and no more than maybe 4oz. My NY Strip had the correct colour for a rare steak, but was over salted to the point of almost inedible and somehow dry. You should be able to serve a NY Strip well done and not have it dry out. And I absolutely HATE when restaurants try to pass off iceberg lettuce in a Caesar salad. The kind of meal I would expect from Kelsey’s or Appleby’s. The wait staff and management were very cordial, but bad food is bad food. We shouldn’t need to send back a plate that has such obviously poor fare for $100+ dollar meal for 2. We won’t be back

First time visiting this location. I was very pleased with how we were processed in stage 3 during COVID. Some of our guests didn't have a mask and the Keg had spares ones on hand to give (you need to wear a mask when going to your table inside, and getting up from the table to go to the bathroom). The server was also very friendly and attentive - which is always a plus ???? Some things that I'd recommend that the location can do better on is serve water that is not softened. Its not for everyone, and most restaurants in Cambridge don't serve softened water. I also was skeptical about my steak size of 8 oz (looked more like a 6 oz), and the presentation for what it was on the plate didn't 'wow' me. Overall my experience was okay, and my expectations of what I expect of the Keg didn't match when it came to the food and presentation. Won't be 'running' back anytime soon...

I love the keg, but the last time i went i was extremely dissapointed. We were only offered water once in the hour we were there. We both got the steak , it came with vegetables and I could literally count there was half of 1 pepper and 4 green beans.... Like really... We're paying over $100.00 for dinner there and there's not enough vegetables Vegetables are cheap , there should be more . Not very impressed with the wait all the time either. We have waited there for over an hour before. You should start taking reservations on Saturdays.

WOW what an incredible dining experience. I was with my mom at The Keg in Cambridge, ON & was extremely pleased. Even though the steak my mother ordered was rare instead of medium well as she ordered (hey no one or nothing is perfect) Vanessa the server was very gracious, & professional so friendly as well. The manager - Joshua - handled this situation with utmost 5 star plus customer care. He really went out of his way to make sure that we were well looked after & taken care of. To be made to feel like they truly care about their customers & their ultimate dining experience is literally "ultimate," is a lost art these days that The Keg-Cambridge , it's staff & wonderful management has not lost at all. Cudos to you all..I will be back time & time again & have shared this great experience & highly recommend those I know to visit this fine establishment.

Service is ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Food: ⭐⭐⭐⭐. I have tried several items now on their menu. Side Dishes/Bread/Salad: The warm bread that they bring to the table and Caesar salad are excellent! Their roasted brussel sprouts and asparagus are fabulous, but their gnocchi (undersides) were unpleasantly charred. Their cauliflower mash is good in small amounts and if the roasted tomatoes are mashed with them. Main Dishes: Their steaks and garlic mashed potatoes don't impress. Their lobster tail was overcooked and not moist. I miss their Arctic Char, which was recommended to me by a server, and was their best main dish item. Sadly missed! Desserts: I have tried almost all of their desserts, and all except the Billy Miner pie are just so so. The Billy Miner pie is excellent ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, and they have improved it too!

I find the Keg is always pretty true to brand. The steak is always cooked to perfection and I've never been disappointed in the Mushrooms Neptune or twice baked potato. They could expand the kids menu a bit. We have always had excellent service at any Key that we've been too which is quite amazing for any chain.

We typically like to check out new restaurants for date night, but we always find our way back to the Cambridge Keg because of the reliable service and guaranteed good food. Of the dozens of times we've been here I've maybe had my steak overcooked ONCE and the waiter was the one who caught it before I even did, got me a new one, and then didn't charge us for dessert. Our waiter hasn't worked in over a year and a half because of Covid. You could tell he was so happy to be back tonight. My husband and I picked up food from this location twice, and both times it has been phenomenal. The food was still warm and the food tasted just as good as if we were eating it in a restaurant. My only qualms are that they forgot the bread (but somehow our order still had the butter) and the croutons in the Cesar salads were soggy and stale (seemed to be pre packaged and refrigerated ahead of time). Other than that, the food was amazing.

Very poor experience here. Don't get me wrong the server was great and the manager was very polite as well. The food was horrible! My steak was tough as hell and my girlfriend hand to have her food re-plated because the kitchen ignored her allergy guidelines. Will not go back here again. Very overpriced for very poor quality of food.

The wife and I went for dinner and she wasn't happy with her prime rib. It wasn't terrible, just not the quality we would expect from the keg. We were asked about our meal by our server Jeremy and since neither of us like to send food back she just said it was fine. Well Jeremy must have picked up on something because 30 seconds later the manager was at our table, (can't remember his name but was a super nice guy) and convinced my wife she needed another prime rib which showed up in less than 5 minutes and was crazy good. He also comped our $15 appetizer for the trouble. Fantastic experience. BTW my rib steak was absolutely incredible. Great service, great food. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could.

We had a great meal the appetizer not so much the waiter took it off our bill that was very nice of him. It was either deep fry cauliflower or fried cauliflower with some sort of stuff on it and it just wasn't for us and we tried it and we probably won't do it again.

Celebrated a birthday with family, and service was excellent. Prices have increased recently, a sign of the times, so while it was an expensive dinner, it was a great dining experience. Their filet mignon is always a winner, as is the twice baked potato. Our son saves the cheese butter that’s served with the bread to use on his steak… it’s surprisingly quite tasty! If you like the taste of mocha almond, try their Billy Miner pie… ridiculously delicious. Strongly suggest making reservations well ahead as the restaurant is always so busy! Excellent evening!

Our server was excellent, far better than average at chain restaurants in Ontario. We went a little later in the evening, 8-ish, and the food was very good, but loses a star for the same complaint I have literally every time I've gone to the Keg: the side dishes (twice baked potato, fried onion crisps, sauteed mushrooms) leave a lot to be desired. The potato in particular had sat in a warming bin for a time, the skin was like leather. Come on, Keg! Spuds are cheap in the big scheme, make sure your guests get fresh ones no matter what time they dine! Still recommend overall, though, it's better than most other restaurants around.

I have a dairy allergy and have become very use to having to ask what dishes are dairy free so I can eat them. This was the first time the manager came out and asked me what I wanted to eat. He was extremely friendly and thoughtful. Of course, what I wanted had dairy but they made the sauce and such all dairy free for me and even added some extra spicy because I mentioned likely it spicy!! I had my meal tailored to my needs rather than trying to find one that works!! And they were sooooo sweet about it!! The staff was charming and the steaks were cooked perfect!! The meal was one of the best I have ever had. It was a sirracha feature with shrimp, scallops and steak.

My wife and I went to keg last sat. Was told better to sit inside as there is a car show outside and it gets loud. Np.....it got loud even inside but we didn't care its a car show is what it is. What disturbed me the most was the waitress telling us " yeah sorry about the noise its these anti vaxers doing their car show...idiots" word for word..... 1. What made them "anti vaxers" 2 we are anti vaxers but you were good enough for our tip which would have been a lot more if you just shut your misinformed mouth. Honestly this is how misinformed people get there info from.

We had a wonderful take out experience from the Keg in Cambridge. We ordered dinner from there for our small outdoor 10 person wedding. It was amazing. It was very easy to order online. The food was hot and everything was exactly as we ordered. They even labeled each container with individual names. There was lots of table bread and condiments were individually packaged. Which made it easy for everyone to get their potatoes just how they wanted them. We were thrilled with the service. And would absolutely recommend the Keg take out for any type of event!!

We were a table of 7, and we ordered 1 rare, 5 medium rare, on 1 medium steak. All 7 steaks were medium. Once the meals were placed on the table, the waitress didn't come back to check on us for a half hour. Poor service, worse cooking. Not happy at all.

One of the bright spots of surviving the pandemic is take out from the Keg in Cambridge. Our meals have been absolutely wonderful. The packaging is superb. Our food has come home still hot and the prime rib done exactly as requested. You could teach how to do take out. Thank you very much.
