I went to the restaurant around 1pm for their lunch special. Which is reasonably priced from $11-$13. In this you recieve, any main entree from the lunch menu + spring roll and a soup or salad. I chose the green curry with the Tom yum soup and a vegetarian spring roll. The food was flavorful and very delicious. The portion sizes are more than enough to fill you up. The place is clean and service is fast. Definitely recommend.

A solid place to get Thai food in Cambridge. For me, the pad thai was the star of the show. I asked for it to be spicy and it did have a nice kick (though not really spicy enough for me still). Unlike some pad thai I've tried at other places, the noodles are dry/hard here and the overall texture was great. The house fried rice was decent and worth a try, but not something I'd get again. I really like the cashews as it added a nice flavour and texture, but I would do without the pineapple pieces. The rest of the rice was lacking flavour. Overall, I would give this place a 3.5/5. It's decent, but I've had better Thai food (ex. SukhoThai and Pai Northern Thai Kitchen).

I have been going here for years any chance I get. The pho and pad see ew are my favorite and the service has always been very friendly and professional even after different ownership. Quite possibly my favorite restaurant. If you are a fan of Thai food and in the area, trust me when I say that this place will not disappoint you.

I like their curries and fried rice. Probably the best pure Thai restaurant in the region. Their spring rolls have improved recently and they still have the unique, sweet spring roll sauce. I have discovered that their fried rice tastes great with the spring roll sauce mixed in. After more than 10 years, most of their dishes are still on the saltier and sweeter side compared to other Thai restaurants I've tried. Although I recently overheard guests at another table ask for salt, pepper and got sauce... I don't know what dishes they got but that was pretty shocking.

Extreamly underwhelming. Actually disappointing. The sticky rice was inedible. Normal rice was sticky. The quality of the beef was very low... most peices had grizzle. Tom-ka soup had very little flavor. Sorry but I will not be ordering from here again. Very surprised that this place was rated so high on Google reviews. If I could give a half star I would.

Mine + my boyfriend's go-to #1 place for Thai, and we live in Guelph! Food is always amazing. Tasty, quick, nothing negative to say. Laurie(?) always remembers us and our order, and always has amazing suggestions that we now get every time. We ♥️ you! We make a point to come here every single time we pass through Cambridge. Portions are huge, we always have leftovers for the next day. Price is cheap for the size and quality of meals. Definitely our favourite place!! You will not be disappointed. Favourite dishes are the red Panang curry, massaman curry, pad Thai, and coconut red curry soup with extra noodles.

The Stir Fried Curry (Pad Panang) is SOOOO good, also love the Cashew Nut if I am not feeling a spicy dish. I am sensitive to spice but can handle theirs in that dish due to the coconut milk. What an amazing combination of flavours. Not to mention their to die-for spring rolls (seriously the best I have ever had!!). My whole family are regulars here for take-out.

Not entirely sure where the rave reviews are coming from, perhaps people of Cambridge haven't experienced good food? I ordered $60+ worth of take out for my family here yesterday and it was some of the blandest food I've had in a long time. Sweet and sour pork: very disappointing the pork was steamed or boiled i've never seen a sweet and sour dish that's not crispy breaded pieces. Pad ke mao with beef: also very disappointing it was a basically a clump of unseasoned plain rice noodles that were all stuck together, with no sauce barely any beef and a couple pieces of some red pepper. Cashew chicken: it was ok again very bland. Pad thai: only thing that was ok but nothing to keep me coming back the only thing I enjoyed was your spring rolls. DEFINITELY NOT AUTHENTIC THAI, they didn't even ask what spice level id like. No heat very bland skimpy portions there's way better places to spend your hard earned money.

We order here frequently. I really love their Khao Soi and their red curry. The only reason it isn't 5 stars is because recently they've been providing only a small amount of broth for the soup. Last time we only got about half a container. It's very annoying.

The worst food ever. Not a t of Thai. Tum yum soup was so salty you couldn't even eat. Oil could be visible floating on top. We told the waitress, they added water to the same bowl but still horrible. No taste whatsoever. Thai sweet basil dish also so salty unable to eat. I guess unsalted rice should compensate. Pad Thai salted to taste but all you could taste is tomato paste. Can I get my $54 back? The best part... waitress saying that's how we make food! If I could I would give 0 stars. Avoid the place like a plague.

I found the Pad Thai very greasy and heavy. The fresh shrimp rolls were really plain and the sauce super sweet. The men's washroom was dirty and there was no soap. There was a high pitch noise coming from the kitchen which was irritating. The dining environment was stark to say the least. Our server was friendly but I will not be back. This is cheap low-quality Thai food, not my thing.

Sometimes Good. Sometimes Lousy. This last visit was of the latter variety. Service, although polite and competent was extremely slow. It took 25 minutes after sitting to place our order (even though the restaurant wasn't very busy). The soup was so salty (a couple of different varieties) that it was inedible. Most dishes were only so-so (Green curry was the exception - it was good). Some of us ordered Spring rolls vegetarian and others ordered with pork. All were the same and our query about this was met with indifference. Pad Thai greasy and lacking flavour. I think the experience depends upon who is in the kitchen that day. Occasionally, the food is great (like golfing - once an awhile I hit a shot that make me want to come back for more). Unfortunately, too often there isn't enough good to make me want to try again.

Need a warm bowl of soup, this is the place, try the Red Curry Noodle. This is the type of dish that will just make you feel better about everything! I’m writing this review mainly because I was compelled to write about the service I received as I work in the resteraunt business as well and I must say she has exceptional customer service skills she is always very friendly, smiling, talks to you as if she is your friend and goes above and beyond to make sure your order is quick and everything is there that you ordered. I just love her. she is the blonde lady that works in the front she’s there often. I love coconut Island I don’t like curry from anywhere but here it’s amazing. The curry is fresh tasting really good with a bit of hot sauce and I like that it has peppers and broccoli in it where as other places don’t. Food is a reasonable price for the quality. Best spring rolls. Get Curry Pad Penang. Thanks

The dining area is stark and tired. There was a very irritating humm comming off an under the counter refrigerator which made the dining in experience poor at best. The lemongrass chicken and rice were tastey. Chicken pad Thai was your typical saucy mess that is all too common nowadays. Spring rolls were not very good at all. If I were to eat here again it would only be for takeout.

I have eaten lunch at this lovely restaurant twice. The first time I ordered the Thai chicken curry. The flavours are phenomenal, quality of the food top notch and the price is more then fair for their extremely generous portion sizes. Yesterday I had a lunch date with my husband and I ordered the chicken pad Thai and never have I had pad Thai taste so good. Noodles cooked perfect, generous amount of peanuts and just overall delish. Highly recommend you visit this restaurant. I will be back. :)

Tonight was our first visit and we were very happy!!! We had a few different dishes and all were very tasty. The waitress was amazing and very knowledgeable about vegan choices so she made the experience very stress free!! I would recommend for other vegans for sure, there were many options except for the soup. We will be back to try more options!!!!

Ordered take out for the first time and wow! This may have been the best Thai food I've had in a long while and definitely the best Thai I've had in the city. Green curry had perfect amount of spice and the portions for all our dishes were quite generous. Price is very fair and everything we had was perfect temperature and delicious. Covid-19 precautions were great. Lots of room to social distance and lots of sanitizer available. My family will definitely be ordering from here again....and again.

I ordered several dishes from here but I think it was the chicken skewers that must not have been cooked all the way. This place gave me the worse food poisoning I’ve ever had, I never thought a human being could throw up so much, was sick for over a week. I should have known when I went in there and the place was empty, I don’t know how they have such good ratings but please beware.

One of the only proper Thai restaurants I have come across (outside Asia). We have been going for a few years. The female server adds to the great experience. Try the Kao Soi (coconut curry with egg noodles and chicken drumsticks) - it's one of the only Thai places I have seen it at, and the only one to get it right. What a treat.

I ordered the chicken skewers with peanut sauce, pad see ew and the red curry. The food is worth the price! I try chicken skewers everywhere. The chicken was tender. I just wish it was drenched in the peanut sauce instead of the sauce being on the side. It was so delicious. The pad see ew had so much flavor in the basil sauce. It had some kick, it wasn't too spicy. The red curry was definitely spicy and soo good. I would try everything else on the menu too.

Ordered Lemongrass Stirfry....allergic to Broccoli and peppers so didn't want them in my meal.....they would not offer me substituions as these two along with carrots is what comes with it. Most places will offer substitutions, but not here. Otherwise food is ok, nothing special

Thai Coconut Island has never left me disappointed. The service is always prompt and friendly, the prices are fair, and the food is delicious. My favourite options usually come from the lunch specials they offer. The special always includes your choice of soup or salad, a spring role, and a main course. I usually get the Tom Yum Soup , spring roll, and either Cashew Chicken or Pad Thai. Only tip: To add a lemon grass chicken and pork chop dish. One of my friends who really likes Thai food usually gets this dish elsewhere and you do not offer it.
