A classic - done to to perfection. 100% 5 stars and worth it. I can't believe I waited so long to try Ruth Chris thinking it'd be just another steakhouse. This is the best in Calgary. I was there 3 times this week! Everything was delicious. We love the sizzling hot butter plates. Our exceptional waiter, Hanni, made our visits amazing. The man is the definition of perfect service! It's a whole experience at Ruth Chris - relaxed, intimate, luxury. Can't wait to be back. Also, I love their mints! Sadly the last time I was there, they were out.

Overall about 3.5-4 but google doesn't allow the half star. Service - 4 Ambiance - 3.5 Value - 3 (Prime Time menu with no upgrades makes it better) Quality of Food - 5 Quality of Steak - 4.5 Quality/Value of Wine - 4/3 One item of note that stands out is selling strictly US Beef in Alberta; while the waiter did acknowledge it, it seems odd that there wouldn't be an Alberta option in an area world famous for it's beef (I seem to recall there used to be in the past but that was 8 years ago or more). The wait for the food was amazingly short and the staff were wildly efficient compared to your average experience. Our group did notice that certain members of the group were given significantly more attention than others (topping up wine and water, checking in, brining additional beverages) which tipped the scales of ambiance and service from upscale classy to a little bit greasy and pretentious and so resulted in the reduced rating on service and ambiance. I can appreciate that others seek out that kind of pretense or differential treatment (it's nice to be king after all) but we found it a bit off-putting. The sides and lobster bisque were fantastic. The steak was some of the best I've had but didn't clearly stand out as THEE best as far as cut and tenderness although the broiling plates is by far the best cooking and presentation I've seen. This may be a case of over-hype more than an actual reduction in quality. The wine had a good selection, of the selections we made (and given the price points) it left something to be desired though and relative to the steak and sides was probably the weak point of the meal. It was by no means bad, but the house selection to pair with the primetime menu (white with the chicken) bordered on it (again given relative to the level of the venue, it wasn't bad). Taste in wine is a highly subjective thing and it may have been particular to me but at the $100/bottle price point I had to dock some points for the contribution to this particular experience. For what it is (showy, ritzy, a little pretentious and really good steak) it is probably the best in Calgary area, but it definitely has a specific price tag and ambiance and that experience is factored in as part of the cost. If that is not what you are looking for, then the food alone isn't enough of a draw that I would strongly recommend over alternative options.

Absolutely amazing. We went for my birthday and our anniversary and seriously was made priority. Our waiter was congenital and over the top amazing. The food was by far the best I have ever had in a steak house. They sprinked a bit of birthday confetti on our table which was the nicest little touch. Food: I’d give it 10 Stars but google doesn’t allow it. The appetizers were incredible. The ahi Tina and spicy shrimp were amazing. Then came my 11oz Filet medium rare. I added peppercorn sauce, didn’t need to because the steak is so good but I enjoyed it. The steak was cooked to perfection. My friend had the mixed grill which included a steak, chicken and crab cakes. She said it was delicious and almost didn’t finish it all the portions were so big. No other place in Calgary makes a better steak. Period. - 5 Stars Service: the true meaning of the word “Professional”. The servers who work here take their position very seriously. They know their wines, make recommendations on food and over all know what hey are talking about. The manager came by to check on us but at no point did we feel they were interrupting our meals. - 5 Stars Atmosphere - Classy is the first word that comes to mind. Professional looking, but not pretentious. Will not find bathrooms cleaner in any other restaurant in Calgary - 5 Stars. Value - Okay here’s the deal. It’s expensive. That can not be denied. However for people who say they can get a steak at the Keg just as good for half the price, well that’s just not true. I love the Keg but to compare keg steaks to Ruth Chris steaks is like comparing a BMW to a Ferrari. They are both nice cars but one is far more superior, and with that comes a higher price tag. You will not walk out hungry. You will walk out knowing you just had one of the best steak dinners Calgary has to offer. Can you go here once a week? That would get expensive. However for a celebration, a graduation or any type of special occasion - this place is impressive and I enjoy it every time I go. - 5 Stars.

1st time here, heard so many reviews of this place. The staff was super friendly and kind. We ordered the porthouse for 2 which cost 155$. Then we got a side of green chile mac $15 and the side of broccoli $13. Yes you read right all the sides are seprate costs. 90% of the dishes dont come with sides, they are extras. The mac was super tasty and not spicy but the porterhouse was doused in pepper so we had to cut the top off the steak pieces. The steak itself was fabulous after that! Lol. We didnt want to complain about the pepper overload as the steak itself was delicious. The decor of the place was good but the lighting was very orange (as u can tell by the photos). Gave for a strange ambience, and the carpet really needs up update. But over all the experience was good. We ordered desert- a banana cream pie $16 and a scoop of ice cream $6. Would recommend this place just perhaps ask for a quarter of the pepper on the steak. ????

Expect to pay a hefty tip if you are ordering for pick-up. A friend offered to pick-up our meal for us as we were quarantining at home. I gave her cash to pay for the meal. When she paid, the server withheld the change asking if my friend wanted it. My friend said it wasn't her money, then felt obligated to text me and ask me if I wanted my change ($50) and I said 'YES'. The server was still reluctant to return the money until my friend offered to pay her a tip out of her own pocket if she returned the change. I called and initially spoke to one of the managers, he was shocked and very receptive to my concerns. He said he would call me back shortly. Instead, someone else called and denied that anything had happened "because we don't do that here." The meal would have been excellent, even through pickup, but the entire experience left a bad taste in our mouths. No more Ruth Chris Calgary for us.

I have been here twice, both times for my birthday, which also happens to fall during the YYC Food & Drink Experience. Ruth's Chris is one of my favourite restaurants in town. The staff are friendly and the food is exceptional. They also have the best creme brulee I've ever eaten! A great place for a fancy night out. I highly recommend them.

The place seems to have gone downhill with thr economy. The food is still superb with the steak being the star, served on a very hot plate to keep the steak warm during the entire dinner. Me and my husband went to this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. We had a fantastic experience here. Staff iz amazing, patient, professional and knowledgeable. Our server Jade was incredible!!!Food was mouthwatering. Steak was delicious. If you looking for nice, clean, quiet, relaxing atmosphere and delicious food, don't look any further. The creme brulee is absolutely TO DIE FOR!! I've never had a better tasting creme brulee in my life. The steak and mash potatoes were also of top quality. We reserved a table for our anniversary and his birthday and they prepared it by leaving us cards and sprinkling some birthday and anniversary decorations all over the table. The staff were wonderful and very helpful when it came to choosing what to order. I would love to return here just for the creme brulee itself. 10/10 I highly recommend this place especially if you're celebrating something. They give you free dessert if you're celebrating a special occasion!

Booked a reservation for 5 as we were celebrating 2 of our friends birthdays. The food was delicious and the steak cooked to a perfection! Worth the price for special occasions or if you feel like treating yourself out. Otherwise ambience was nice, and service was fantastic. Big shouts to our server Terry as he was very knowledgeable about the menu, friendly and must I say a good photographer.

My husband, myself and another couple all ate here on the last night of Stampede. All 4 of us received food poisoning from this restaurant. We did call to let them know that this had happened. They said “we will do an investigation and follow up with you. But we’d also like to invite you back.” I understand the gesture but no thanks… I myself was violently ill for 3 days. There was also no follow up. We had the petite filet, ribeye, Brussels sprouts, and asparagus.

Came out here with some family and guests from Vancouver! They wanted to try some good Alberta Steak so we came here. Our server, Daniel, was very professional and made some suggestions on what we should get. We chose the Tomahawk and the Quarter Steak (I believe). The steak was PHENOMENAL. It is a bit pricy but you get what you pay for. They even made the plate hot so our steaks wouldn't get cold! The Caesar Salad tasted great! Mashed Potatoes? Creamiest I ever had. Would definately comeback next time!

I feel bad giving 3 star but we felt food was not the best we've had. Service was absolutely perfect Daniel was the best, attentive and really took good care of us, very friendly too! Everyone checked on us to make sure we were good! Crab cakes were just okay, but for $30 not worth it. Lobster bisque was amazing. Caeser salad was not great. Steak petit filet 8 oz was good, but have had better. Salmon was really good the sauce made it even better. The brussel sprouts were good potatoes good, but we have had amazing food for less. Creme brulee was excellent. Cocktails were okay but $18 each. Had virgin blueberry mojito it was very good!!

First time here! Loved my experience, staff was so kind and very caring! The atmosphere was nice, clean. I got the lamb chops (medium rare) very good i recommend the lamb chops, the blueberry cheese cake was delicious, calamari was good! Definitely different from your regular calamari! Crab cakes were bery crabby in a good way ;) overall this place is amazing! I would definitely go back again :)

Everything thing at Ruth's Chris was amazing. From the service to the food. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. I had the mixed grill. It was delicious. All of the sides were great. I highly recommend the stuffed mushroom caps. Their desserts are HUGE, and tasty. A bunch of us tried the Banana Cream, the chocolate duo and the cheesecake.

Got takeout which for dinner and it was still absolutely to die for. I was so impressed. Wasn’t sure if it would hold up well to-go but it was amazing, one of the best meals I’ve had. Can’t imagine what it would be like if I had it dining in. All the meats were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The flourless chocolate cake was good with the raspberry sauce but a little dense and sweet for my preference. We got the mixed grill (chicken, shrimp, and steak), lobster bisque soup, stuffed crab mushrooms, and Cesar salad. Everything was *chefs kiss* pricey but well worth it.

We celebrated an anniversary here and were not disappointed. We don’t venture into the downtown too often, and being located inside of such an iconic Calgary tourist place was a but of a put off BUT the service was stunning. The tables were all properly dressed and the staff was on point professional. This isn’t an everyday meal place for us (and I won’t be bringing my kids here ???????????? *you’re welcome*) but for a fancy, special event it was everything we didn’t know we wanted :)

If you want a High End, dress up place to have a great meal this is the place. It is located in the Calgary Tower and reminded me if the Space Needle in Seattle when they used to serve meals. My friend and I had the chicken and shrimp entrees that were amazing! He also had the Lobster bisque while I had the salad plus their delicious Calamari!!! The sides we chose were Au Gratin and sweet potatoes and I would recommend both. For dessert we shared their Creme Brulee. It was the highlight of this amazing meal. All of the staff were friendly and helpful.

So I go out to eat a a lot in calgary. Basically every night. And I go to steak houses quite a bit . Now don't get me wrong the food was cooked well and tasted good . No complaints . But it's the cost with wrecked it for me honestly. Now that being said food good, place elegant old-school steakhouse . But quality for price just was not their for me . Took my girlfriend and couple drinks appatizers two entries 400 bucks. And for that I want the WOW and just didn't do it for me personally. The sides I could have made at home . And honestly same with the steak . It was good like I said just no wow factor for the price. Their is loads of places that cost half the much and leave your mind blown .

The year started off rough for everyone. For us, our wedding venue was cancelled and the guest list had to be shortened from 160 people to the limit of 30. My wife and I were very heartbroken to see the one day we had been planning for a year slowly fall apart. That all changed when we met Kaitlin Zundl and Steven Bendick from Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. We were thinking of a place to celebrate after our wedding ceremony since our venue was cancelled. Our first thought was Ruth's Chris as we both enjoyed a unique dining experience when we celebrated my wife's birthday a year prior to the wedding date. We were very surprised when we first met Kaitlin and Steven. They were extremely friendly and accommodating to every need we had. They showed us every available room and we fell in love with the Great Room as soon as we viewed it. Kaitlin and Steven both went above and beyond explaining what we were able to do with our limited numbers and they gave us more ideas on how to make our wedding day very special. Throughout the process, they kept in constant communication with us-- from sharing every little detail/idea for menus to offering to help us along the way with the planning and set up of decorations. Throughout the process, we gained two amazing friends that we would never have had the chance to meet in regular circumstances. Kaitlin and Steven both devoted many hours to plan decorations, customize our menu with our names, and made sure all our needs were met. On our wedding day, we were both confident knowing everything was taken care of at Ruth's Chris for us and our families, without having to stress about anything. On our wedding day, as we arrived at Ruth's Chris, we were all greeted by friendly staff and Kaitlin and Steven introduced us to our two amazing waiters. Our family and friends were treated with the utmost respect and were catered to everything they asked for. We had ordered reception Hors D'oeuvres (Beef Tenderloin skewers, Smoky Chicken skewers, Mini Crab cakes, and Mini Sweet pot casseroles), which were amazing. They were all a big hit--everyone loved them, and we both heard non-stop compliments about how delicious everything was. As the guests were transitioned into the Great Room, my wife and I stood waiting in the lobby to be called in for the big entrance. When we heard our names being called and walked into the room, we were both overwhelmed by how amazing everything looked! It was honestly much more than what we dreamed of! The Great Room is very beautiful and perfect for any intimate wedding. From the setting of the tables and décor that the Ruth's Chris team set-up to the natural lighting in the room just made everything come together perfectly. Kaitlin was there every step of the way making sure everything went smoothly-- she simply is the best event coordinator/wedding planner we've ever had the pleasure to meet. When the main course was served (We chose the New Orleans menu which offered a number of great choices), we could just see how happy everyone in the room was with their food. I have been to Ruth's Chris over a dozen times and I have never been disappointed once. I have tasted their perfectly cooked steaks, lobsters, lamb, salads, accompaniments, delicious dessert, and never left the restaurant unhappy. I have to give a lot of credit to the chefs in the kitchen, as the food was wonderful on our special night, as any of the other nights. To this day, family and friends constantly ask me to take them back to the restaurant because the food is always amazing. If you are planning on having an intimate wedding, I highly recommend you consider Ruth's Chris as a venue. I normally don't write reviews for any business, but for everything that Kaitlin, Steven, and the staff at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse have done for us, this is the least I can do for all the efforts they've put into making our day unforgettable. I can tell that everyone at Ruth's Chris is passionate at what they do because they provided us with an out of this world service and experience.

What a beautiful experience! So glad we were able to reserve a table for Valentine's Day..our steaks were phenomenal and the Lobster Bisque I also highly recommend! The stuffed mushrooms with crab meat are good but quite stuffing so beware when you order those as appos. Au Gratin delicious but also very rich and stuffs. Our service was top of the line as well. Server Adam was very good and dessert as well as amazing.

Very happy that dine in is back. Big thanks to Ruth's Chris for making our Valentine's weekend one to remember. We were a tad late being seated for our 8:30pm reservation, but they more than made up for it by seating us in a private dining room. The service was excellent, the food was even better. I had the rib eye which was expertly cooked, my co-diners all had the fillet oscared. We also had the crab stuffed mushrooms, and spicy shrimp to start, both very good. For sides we had brussel sprouts, lyonnaise fingerling potatoes and, at the suggestion of our server, the lobster mac and cheese. All were delicious. Thanks again Ruth's Chris for the wonderful meal.
