At this moment the business has a score of 4.6 stars over 5 and the rating was based on 127 reviews.
As you can read, the average score it has is practically the top, and it's based on a very large number of scores, so we may say that the rating is quite accurate. If people have bothered to rate when they are happy, it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to place scores when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant corresponds to the category of French restaurant.
The place serves big portions and for fair rates. friendly employees. They never disappoint.
This is a go to at least once a month, Have never had a bad meal or one that was not at least 9 out of 10, usuallly an 11 or 12. Perfection and unique is the key here. The steaks are pure magic, the mussels one of my go to's anytime. Love the French Onion soup. The service and staff are fantastic. Patrice and crew run a great restaurant, a must visit for anyone. Make a reservation NOW
Low key French restaurant hidden in plain sight Mission. Staff and food were wonderful. I had the beef tenderloin and the beef was tender and flavourful. Looking forward to trying other items from their menu!
I have been there many times and always had the most awesome experience. The food is to die for and so as the service. Sale and Patrice (owner), always goes out of his way to provide excellence. This is by far my favorite restaurant in Calgary.
Food isn’t amazing but it’s still okay. The service however is amazing. The owner is friendly and helpful and the space itself is really cute.
I very much liked the food and customer service, great area very close to my home. The employees are always helpful. Will visit here again.
I always stop grabbing some food in this place. I love the swift service and well cooked food. 5 stars.
This place has amazing food, however, I think the presentation of the dishes could improve. Nonetheless, Fleur de Sel has a very cosy atmosphere, with hilarious bathrooms. The servers are very welcoming and easy to talk to, whilst also professional. I would highly suggest dropping by.
A hidden gem in Calgary that one could walk past and not even notice. Amazing food and service. Cozy and intimate. Top spot for a date night.
Excellent food, wine, and experience!
Lovely place with a great atmosphere. Friendly service from the owner and staff. We ordered the recommendations from the owner and the food and wine was excellent. The perfect night out.
This spot clearly knows how to treat their clients. Always with a very friendly mindset. The food is reasonably priced, constantly fresh and neat.
Wow I was disrespected from the minute we walked in the door. Booked my birthday dinner there as I've been there years ago and loved it. The server didn't even acknowledge us when we walked in even though the place was empty. They just looked us up and down like we were trash. Said immediately that they were busy even though we had a reservation and offered us a seat by the door. I will never book an event there again...Absolutely disgusted!!!!
I felt like I was transported to France when I stepped into this restaurant! The decor is beautiful and the design is like modern France! The food?! SO GOOD! Below is a picture of the mussels in Dijon mustard cream sauce. The tastiest mussels I've had in Calgary!! I tried bites of other dishes and every morsel of food was delicious! YES, you want to dine here! It is worth every penny!
Gave us a free crème brulée for our anniversary. The food was awesome!
One of my favourite restaurants in Calgary. Incredibly authentic French food. Service is amazing and you feel like home. So far a hidden gem.
Excellent food and atmosphere. Would recommend the mussels as a starter - the sauce was amazing ???? The Cassoulet Grille was very filling and the would recommend having the duck confit add on. Other with me tried the Pepper Steak and Basil Chicken dishes. The Duck Anise was a good portion but the sauce is a very strong anise flavour so maybe not for you if you are on the fence about the flavour of anise.
Such a fine and quaint French restaurant - table cloths, linen napkins, great service, nice atmosphere! We arrived on a rather cold night at 6:00 and were offered a choice of seats (near or away from the window). Parking at 6:00 is free and in front of the restaurant! Our Server explained the specials and helped with the main course choice. The Wine was fine and reasonably priced. The Salad the we ordered - Spinach, Pancetta, Goat Cheese and Raspberry Vinaigrette, split between us was very generous and tasted great! We ordered the same main course as the server described it so well; it was to Die for! The Grilled Tenderloins of Ahi Tuna and Beef Bordelaise and the terrific vegetables, done to perfection, remind us of high French Cuisine on our travels in France! We were at Fleur de Sel in December, February 12 and will be back very soon! We highly recommend making reservations as we are certain that people will start to take a big notice to Fleur de Sel, Calgary! Thanks to the great staff!
Nice food, pleasant ambiance, small dinning area. Very attentive staff, prices on the high side. Definitely a unique experience, one must try their cuisine.
I absolutely enjoyed their dishes and customer service, great location close to where I live. The employees are always very welcoming. Will visit here again.
Very very good food.
Authentic french cuisine with amazing reduction sauces, fine meats and yummy desserts. A little on the pricey side but good for a splurge now and then.
Food was good, ordered the steak. Overcooked but still good.
A lovely French bistro near downtown. Amazing attention to food allergies. Patrice is a wonderful host & surprised us with a birthday dessert after overhearing our conversation. Great food, great service, great location!
Excellent food, great service, we had a very enjoyable evening with our friends.
This spot obviously knows how to take care of their clients. Regularly with a friendly attitude. The food is fairly priced, constantly delicious and neat.
My mother's favorite restaurant. I think it is great too (food, dessert and service). However, I don't like that the server held the baguette with her bare hands to cut it. I strongly prefer that only kitchen staff touch my food, far from menus, payment machines and other customer germ vectors.
Tried this spot once with my friend and I am hooked since then. I enjoy the excellent atmosphere and fresh food and beverages. Highly recommended.
Very good flavor ????
Excellent food, super nice staff members, always good vibes. They charge convenient prices and the food quality is very good. 5 stars.
Best Mussels I’ve ever had.
I would give 3.5. Owner is very friendly and nice but food is just ok. Serving bread is not the best quality, airy texture and dry. Steak was not cooking to our request. We requested rare, came out more than medium. Most worst was the fries. Not sure if it was re-fried. It was stiff. Mussels was fresh, sauce is “tasty” if it wasn’t so salty. Overall still a good experience, owner was friendly.
My family and I have been coming here for years for dinners out and birthdays. It’s always an amazing experience. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed and fun French decor around you. The food is absolutely incredible and mouth watering. My favourites the scallops - always cooked to perfection and the wild salmon, rack of lamb or my absolute favourite (in the fall/winter season) their boeuf bourguignon! All the desserts are fabulous too - if you have room. Delicious experience every time.
One of the best dining spots in Calgary. The food is impeccaby delicious, and Patrice, Dale, and the rest of the service staff have always provided exquisite service.
What a fun amazing hole in the wall. We show up for lunch. No reso. Owner is there and apologized because a staff member quite and it is just him in kitchen. Serving. Bar. Everything. You would never know. The food was out of this world. The service was great. It was just him but 10 people there for lunch. It was not slow or cold or anything. We will go back. I’ve been in calgary for years and never knew this gem existed. Ps... ask why there is a giant disco ball in the rafters. I want to know.
Made a reservation on valentine day and waited to be seated, then waited again after being seated and was asked for drinks and we said we were fine no wine but ready to order but the lady said she only take drinks. We waited for 20 mins and the waiter kept bringing in more people and eventually got crowded during covid. I witness him not removing the table cloth once in used and wiped the crumbs off it and then then set some clean plates on top, the water on all of the table are alrighty filled so you cant tell if they changed it. The lady brought out lemon slice for us but you can tell it was sliced a head of time and dried. 20 mins later no one approached us, we walked down and found something else cheaper and nicer food and the waitress greeted us and checked on us. This place not worth your money or the nice clothing everyone was wearing. It's a joke.
Amazing service and chef. Had a birthday dinner here it’s a must try if you love French food and are in Calgary.
I have not tried a French cuisine before, but this place got me hooked to it. The mussels with dijon mustad sauce was fantastic! I will order 5 of those next time. Onion soup was amazing as well, bursting with flavour. The mains were great as well, and the servers were very friendly and attentive. Thank you for the great food and service!
Nice little French restaurant. The steak was very high quality and very nicely seasoned but a little overcooked.
Intimate Setting. Very delicious French food and fair pricing. Owner provides attentive service too. Will visit again for sure!
The food is delicious and the staff is super. Best waiter in town works here. Great place to bring a date.
Quaint Parisian restaurant. Tasty meals, and great chefs. Tables are close together but makes for an intimate atmosphere to share great food memories!
Classic French brasserie in Calgary. For 21 years Patrice Durandeau has served his dedicated customers with authentic French cuisine in an informal relaxed atmosphere.
Unfortunately unable to make a lime daiquiri. Entrée of glazed salmon was dry and over cooked. The glaze was too sweet and the consistency of lumpy apple sauce and very underdone vegetables. Ordered fries but they never came. Plates were collected before everyone at the table was finished. It was my first time and my last. Very disappointed!
The food is constantly well prepared and delightful, employees provides good service. I liked how clean it is and vibes. I highly recommend this spot.
The food was outstanding, and the owner is a hoot! The halibut is to die for.
A nice little escape from the ordinary Calgary food scene. Unpretentious and very cozy spot, that makes you feel like you made an afternoon escape to Europe. The food is very good and the price is right. The excellent service made us feel at home. Absolutely recommended.
Great atmosphere, delicious food, excellent service.
Amazing food. Amazing service. Staff were friendly and attentive without being bothersome. Genuine French atmosphere including the soft music and cuisine. The owner is from Marseille so you can't get more genuine than that. They also had Covid safety protocols in place to ensure guest safety. I recommend this restaurant for a truly special and romantic night out.
The food is constantly fresh and yummy, employees hands over fantastic service. I loved how neat it is and vibes. Worth a try.
Home style French dining in a comfortable and rustic atmosphere. Good wine selection, amazing food and friendly staff.
Waste of time.
Amazing French bistro downtown Calgary. Patrice and his staff are great and will do anything to make you feel welcome. It goes without saying that the food is very delicious!!
I came in for dinner with a colleague the other night. We happened upon the spot with walking down 4th street. I have been up and down this street many times and eaten at many different restaurants here. This is clearly one of the best. It is very French and the food is wonderful. We started with the scallop appetizer, the scallops were large and perfectly cooked, the accompanying greens and dressing were perfect.
Drove by this brasserie a couple times and went here for the first time last week. It transports me back to Europe; people watching, laid back atmosphere, mouthwatering and delectable cuisine. Apart from the Michelin-quality foods, the service by Colleen is always great. I always feel as though I'm given the time and space to enjoy my meal with whoever I am with. I can't recommend this place enough, being someone exhausted with the tomes of individuals and loud cars on 17th Ave. I wish I could give this brasserie 10 stars!
Truly excellent food and service. The best French bistro in Calgary. Must visit.
Amazing French food- this will be our go-to. We had the mussel, beef & ahi, the duck, and halibut- all wonderfully cooked. The dishes stood well with take out (they came in foil packages). Great portions, fair price, and truly delicious.
Great food! Prices are comparable to the Keg, Earls, etc, but the quality of food is way better. Love the muscle for appetizer! Service is also good. Must try restaurant in Calgary.
Amazing!!! The Rack of Lamb was on point and cooked perfectly. Great atmosphere and wonderful service. Perfect place to celebrate that special occasion.
Absolutely delicious food and wonderful service. House wine was overpriced... 45$ for a screw cap, sour red wine disappointed me. Oysters, lamb and beef were delicious.
I love French cuisine and was very excited to try this place but left feeling underwhelmed, overcharged, and dissatisfied. The staff was very nice, but our orders came out incorrect, a few times throughout the night. For example, I asked for no bacon on my scallops which they said they could do but it came with it on the dish, which was no big deal. They offered to correct this, and a few moments later they brought out the same dish, and bacon was still attached to one of them. As my request was not to have bacon at all, it felt very cheap that they just removed it rather than fix the mistake of cooking them together in the first place. Not worth the expensive price tag for the quality of food, definitely won't be returning.
had a terrific evening here, had not been in decades. my bad. the steak poivre was great, i asked for green peppercorn sauce and no problem.....really the first time in quite a while where i felt great about a fine dining experience.
Never had ostrich. Must say very good and my wife had duck also very good. Dessert so delicious. Will go back again in the near future. Prices are fair for the food. Left satisfied.
What a lovely experience. Good food, great service and a perfectly French atmosphere.
The lamb was so soft it was like cutting a marshmallow.
Best French restaurant!
We have been patrons of Fleur de Sel for a very long time (20 years) and we have never had a bad meal. Patrice is fantastic and so is his kitchen.
Got in with no reservation for lunch. Waiter was quit knowledgeable. Wine price was very expensive. Meal was reasonably priced. Service was decent. Food was good
Very quaint location with excellent service and food. The ambiance is very romantic and is a great place for a date. We had a great server who helped us with the menu, described how they cooked certain dishes and was super friendly. Would love to go again.
Fleur de Sel is a hidden gem. It is the perfect place for a romantic date!
Patrice is one of a kind. His zest for food and service enthralls me every time I go there. I absolutely love this restaurant for the food, the service and the staff
Friendly, knowledgeable, relaxed service and fabulous food! A most enjoyable, relaxed evening. And all at an independent, locally owned restaurant (my favourite!). Not sure why I haven't been before, but I'll be back!
This is a small restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere. Service was attentive without being overbearing. The drinks were excellent but it was the food that stole the show for us. The prawns and mussels starters were outstanding, and the main meals kept the high standard. The desserts and coffees wrapped up a fantastic evening. We will certainly be back, it was worth the drive in from Okotoks
Very expensive food, nice little place, will not visit again, just because it's simply expensive
Fantastic service and fantastic food. It’s the closet to France you’ll get in Calgary.
This place had NO idea what it was doing; what it was trying to be; who it was trying to serve; nothing. We booked our reservation for Valentine's Day after the recent lifting of covid restrictions, and they had no organization or planning on how to space people and serve them safely. The space is smaller than a mouse hole as it is, and they were overbooking and still allowing people inside, crammed like sardines. Any health inspection by Alberta Health would cause an immediate shutdown; this I'm certain of. We didn't even get past drink orders before we walked out. From the extremely limited service we had, we could tell it was horrible. No greeting of customers, no explanation of the state of disarray, not even a "Thank you for your patience". It's almost like the spectacle of dining disaster that they created was a norm for them. A place like this cannot continue to exist, and shouldn't try. I usually am a very understanding person and accommodating of exceptional circumstances, but this was an utter joke. My girlfriend and I are currently laughing about it as we dine at another nearby restaurant that saved our Valentine's Day.
Intimate. Great food! Lovely wine and sweet Server Guy!!
The owner is very charismatic, always making you feel as if you're dining in Paris. I would recommend to anybody who appreciates French food & culture.
Amazing food and service!
The most authentic French restaurant in Calgary. Food, service, ambience and everything else you can imagine is fantastic. Can’t wait to go back.
