Appetizer: Bad We ordered Antipasto board ... Way overpriced and weak .. surprisingly it was ALL Costco stuff (mortadella, etc.) ... If I am going to an Italian restaurant I expect high quality Italian meat and cheese.. I could make a much nicer board at home myself. Main course: Okay Pizza was great. I loved the taste and presentation Pasta: Very normal.. nothing special at all. The creamy pastas I make at home probably taste better. Dessert: Bad We ordered Affogato and again very disappointing.. It was a very small (maybe a third of scoop) ice cream in it which I am again thinking it could be Costco vanilla ice cream.. (4L for $6) Service: Bad to normal After we ordered we waited for about 12 minutes until we got Appetizer.. and after a minute we got our main course which means we had to stop working on our Costco antipasto board and eat our food / fresh pizza. Also, the waitress did not bring any napkins with dessert. If you are looking for high quality Italian restaurant you should not go to this place. If you just want to have a casual Italian, you may consider going to this place only once but I don't recommend since there are better options.

A group of 7 of us were meant to have our staff meeting at this restaurant this afternoon. I came shortly before they opened as to get a table for all of us. I parked my car and went to get a coffee before they opened, and this gentleman in a cooks outfit came out and followed me, shouting at me about how I can’t park my car there. I came out to a nasty note left on my vehicle too. Needless to say we did not have our lunch here, went to an Italian joint a few blocks down instead. What is a cook doing monitoring the parking anyway? The owners have sure found a way to ensure customers do not eat here. None of us have eaten here before, and thanks to this man - none of us will be eating here in the future. Brutal customer service.

No complimentary bread here. Service is slow at meal times. The air towards at the back of the restaurant is very stuffy. Food wise, the cream tomato sauce is pretty tasty and the shrimp amount is decent but not the freshest. The pizza dough is nice and chewy though the artichokes on the veggie pizza tastes canned.

Went for a nice dinner last night. They have a cute patio. The food was delicious. We had the diavolo pizza and carbonara. The service was good, but we felt for the server as it was clear she was stretched too thin. She could have used a hand. They were busy for takeout while we were there. We will be back for sure!

Skip The Dishes order: Ordered a pasta with prawns and they left the tails and shells on the prawns. Is their cook a 17 year-old boy with no experience? Also, avoid ordering delivery as the portion sizes are barely lunch size and you are paying dinner prices. Not worth the money spent. Will not be ordering from them again.

I have had better here before. I went with my girlfriend recently. We had dirty dishes on our table and missing cutlery. And to top it off my water was served in a dirty glass. Pizza was okay I'm not sure what changed here but it was much better a few years ago.

Love it. Wonderful staff. Pizza oven is fantastic. Great value for the dollar. Be sure to try the calamari in the spicy tomato sauce...melts in your mouth. Get a bottle of Prosecco on the side and you will think you are in Italy. Enjoy!!

One of my favorite spots in the city, I've been coming here for over 15 years! The chef's creamy tomato sauce is one of my favorites, and I've been to Italy multiple times. Great pizza here too if your looking for some traditional Italian pie! Penne Daniele and Penne Toto are some of my favorites since I was 6 years old if you are feeling some comfortable Italian cuisine. Chicken parmesan & any of the veals have always been flavourful and cooked perfectly.

Went during dinner so it was a long wait for food but not too long. Service was great! The waiter was very friendly and cracked a few jokes even which shows great friendly service. Food was great Also! Go give it a try. And if you go during dinner service done complain cause the staff and the food make it all worth it! Would definitely go again!

It was good overall. Food was good service was good. Would recomend the pizza, over all the pasta is good but the pizza was better. very Fresh mozzarella and they do an Excellent caprese salad. Pizza was the best part of the meal though. The charcuterie board was lacking for the price. One type of cheese and not alot of variety for 20$ would not recomend. I just don't understand how this restaurant has such good reviews. We ordered from Skip the Dishes and it was incredibly disappointing. The pizza was undercooked and sloppy. And their "focaccia bread" was just a pizza crust! Awful.

I ordered 2 dishes for delivery, and they arrived in extremely poor presentation, small portions and unimpressive taste (specifically for the Chicken Parmigiana). I paid close to $50 for a Spaghetti Vongole & a Chicken Parmigiana, when this order was not worth $20... and they forgot our side salad for the Chicken Parmigiana dish. Very disappointing, and disrespectful even.

The pasta is perfect! Cooked just right. Try it with the Italian sausage. The restaurant is authentic Italian and the food is just like Mamas. But they also have a brick pizza oven and do an excellent classic thin crust pizza. The staff is efficient and friendly. There are daily specials. We arrived on a very busy evening without a reservation and they were very accommodating to arrange a special table. Overall good honest food and value.

I am a PizzaExpert and did a video review on this pizza. When I arrived for pickup, before the time they mentioned, the pizza was waiting already and I drove literally 2 minutes home and it was cold. The crust was unevenly burnt. Check out my review of Pacifico (DT Vancity) for nicely cooked (non burnt) wood fire oven pizza. This is just unacceptable. Overall: Absolutely great experience! Food: Best pasta. Both Alfredo and Carbonara were amazing. Really, really great pizza. Service: One of the classiest service ever in Vancouver - felt like in Europe but still warm and friendly. Overall: If you want good pizza our pasta in a homey atmosphere this is the place to be.

Service was terribly slow on a not too busy night, maybe 15 people max in the place. Our appetizers were completely forgotten, when I asked about them the the waitress offered to order them but I said no seemingly making her annoyed that I now didn't want the food she forgot to order in the first place (my meal had arrived by the time I could get her attention, whatever). The food that did come out was fairly decent although the "spicy" pizza had literally no spice to it No plans on going back.

I ordered a lasagna from this restaurant and all I got in return was absolute disappointment. The pasta had an extremely mushy consistency and tasted like dumpling skins. The marinara sauce was way to tangy and sour for it to be pleasant. The meat sauce, ricotta cheese, and toppings were average but mixed all together comes out as a dish less then mediocre. I don’t have high standards when it comes to food, especially “comfort” food restaurants like these, but cmon...how hard is it to mess up a classic, yummy lasagna?

For the cost, I don’t think it was worth it. The food is totally fine… but just pasta, sauce, meatballs and garlic bread I could have made at home for less than the $40 price. The biggest let down was the penne noodles which definitely tasted like a generic store bought brand. Sorry!

This wasn't our first time there; nore will it be our last. Two of our party enjoyed the thin crust, pizza oven baked right in front of you, Italian pizzas. One of our party had a few allergies and they were quick to double check one sauce for ingredients. The gluten free penne was just as good to the gluten eater's palate, and I find some gluten free groceries a poor substitute. The pasta entres were quite good and very filling. Thw dessert menu was tempting but no one had room. We hadn't even shared an appie. Next time...

Went there for the first time about a month ago, and was pleasantly surprised for the taste of the dishes. The place is not super big, but it's cozy and intimate, and you can see the staff running the business so customers feel like home. We ordered spaghetti carbonara ???????? and my favourite, pizza capricciosa ????. Highly recommended! Warning: The place is crowded, so making a reservation will help a lot. Is definitely our new favourite Italian restaurant in the city. I would only suggest them to keep updated their selection of wines, or allow a reasonable uncorking fee (our waitress mentioned $50CAN ????, but immediately admitted didn't have idea about it).

A nice Italian restaurant in the Brentwood mall/Skytrain station area of Burnaby. It's tucked in a strip plaza just one block east from Willingdon. Good portions for reasonable prices. Party of 8 on a Sunday evening and we didn't need reservations, but service was on the slow side. Hawaiian pizza was a bit soggy with the thin crust, probably from the pineapples' juices. Spaghetti with meatballs can probably feed two adults if they're not too hungry. All in all, not a bad place to go for family dinner night.

This review has been LONG overdue~ The location might be tricky to find for non-locals in the Burnaby area, but once you find this gem... it is the PERFECT date spot. The staff is friendly and respect your seating preferences + privacy (I'm not a fan of talking with my mouth full and I give feedback usually in between courses... but anyhoo - they didn't do the "how's everything tasting?" while I got linguine in my mouth =_=) They have an open kitchen and it tempts you to order a pizza because the moment there's a pizza order - it's SHOW TIME!. I don't know how they keep their composure, but thank you for the professionalism and the food just speaks for itself~! If anyone is ever in the area, give these guys a spin on your taste buds!

Our office is very close to Pasta Amore. This is our go-to choice for great food and excellent service. The lunch waitress is very kind and super friendly, and she gets bonus marks for keeping her cool when busy. TIP: Go a little before noon for lunch if you want a good table. Israel is another great server who is a funny guy. I especially enjoy it when he gives the local mafioso a hard time. OK, they aren't mafioso, but they sure as heck act like they are. I really like it when you see Italian Italians in an Italian restaurant. Adds a little extra ambience and you gotta know the food's good if they're there. The food is consistently tasty and feels authentic. The wood fired pizza is excellent, with a bubbly thin crust, and not too much cheese. The pasta is always al dente and the sauces taste home made from scratch. The espresso was hot and strong, and the tiramisu was delicious, fresh and not soggy. Best of all the prices are very reasonable. That's Amore!

Mediocre pizza at best. A very thin bottom Almost no sauce and whatever little sauce is on there seems like it is turning sour from being old. Bland, tasteless and not worth the $22.00 I spent. Being the only person in the restaurant and under no stress by the cook, he had plenty of time to make something really delicious - and it wasn't. This is equallt as impressive as a $4 store bought pizza from Superstore- the no name brand. I've had good pizza, I've had great pizza, I've had mind blowing pizza. This comes nowhere near any of those. This is slight better than Domino's but not by much. At least for the price I paid for it, Domino's would give 2 or 3 horrible tasting pizzas, not only 1. After waiting 4 years to eat here, I finally did and it did not win me over. I should have bought a pizza from the supermarket and saved my money, that way I could buy some choclate bars and chips as well and have cash leftover. I read the reviews oh how the pizza here is soooo good. I have no idea what the people ate before this, because this far far from anything spectacular...it was at best - mediocrre...and that's pushing it. Not to be a return customer unless somebody else pays. When your restaurant is empty, you have time to really make something awesome - and you didn't...and for that reason, I can't even give you 3 stars. Out of 100 - you get about 35% and that is not good enough - when there are 5 other pizza places nearby.

Love this place. Great Italian gem. We come here often because dining-in is fantastic. The atmosphere is traditional Italian with a forno oven where they cook the pizzas. Very cozy and quaint. It’s usually busy on the weekends but we (2) always manage to get in without a reso. We also order pizza sometimes and eat at home. The pizza is very good. Excellent ingredients for a delectable flavour. I highly recommend.

So I will say that this place is a nice and tasty little spot to eat dinner. What really took away from my experience was the attitude of the pizza cook. I'm 7 months pregnant and I ordered a 4 fromaggi pizza. I wasn't aware that I couldn't have bleu cheese and so when the waitress came to give me my meal, she gasped and told me I'm pregnant and can not have bleu cheese. I apologized sincerely as I didn't know, I also didn't really read the cheeses on the pizza as I've always had 4 cheese pizzas and knew I couldn't have deli meat which is why I opted for the cheese. Anyhow I was grateful for the waitresses concern. I also didn't mind waiting for a new one. The stone pizza oven and the pizza cook were in my immediate sightline to where I was seated. I watched as the waitress explained to the cook that a new pizza needed to be made at which point I saw and heard the pizza cook very rudely say about me "well then READ THE MENU" not realizing that the customer she was remaking the pizza for (me) was watching her at that exact moment. It was enough to put me off returning to this place. I'm very big on customer service and to me, this was completely unprofessional of the pizza cook. She seems very miserable with herself and should really be more careful of her attitude especially when she works in an open kitchen in the sightline of her restaurant guests. Pizza was good. Waitress was thoughtful. The only thing that took away from this experience was the disrespectful cook.

Nov 20. 2016 I haven't been to Pasta Amore Restaurant in Burnaby , its always quiet there's no one in the restaurant and it looks dark in the restaurant all the time. Hidden gem in burnaby. Their pizza is fantastic we love eating in, picking up or getting skip the dishes ????The owner is a local Burnaby man ( he is actually Italian unlike a lot of other Italian restaurant owners in Vancouver) if you go often enough he will remember you and make you feel like you're at home. The pizzioli (pizza makers) are usually Italians as well who made pizza back home in Italy. Very authentic experience.

Ordered a lasanaga to go Its 18 bucks so I expected a half decent meal The actual size is pretty small leaving me to have to go out for dinner again.. With many Italian restaurants in the area, it was our night to try something different. As far as pizza goes, this place has a nice portion size with a generous amount of toppings. Would have been awesome if it was a wood burning oven, but the oven did do justice on just gas. Pasta was extremely flavourful, and might just be one of my wife's favorite places for it. The Bruschetta was lacking a better choice of bread and maybe some balsamic to add some flavor. The service was attentive, but the kitchen felt slow. The place was merely half full. Pricing was fair for the quality and quantity. Not too expensive but probably not the every night dine out. Overall it's the happy medium between pizza at Via Tevere's and pasta at Anton's.

The quality and freshness of everything I've had from this place is outstanding. It's always so hard to decide between pizza or pasta because both are so tasty! I can usually get dinner plus lunch the next day when I order a pasta dish. My favourite pizza is the Prosciutto e Rucola because I love arugula and my favourite pasta is any pasta with the creamy tomato sauce - it's so delicious!

For the size of a personal pizza, and the amount of ingredients on it, I'm surprised they charge such a premium for their pizzas. We had the 4 cheese, vegetarian, and Hawaiian. Ultimately, the taste falls short as well, everything tasted very bland. If it were pricey, but tastes spectacular, I would be ok with that. But the fact is that I can go 2 blocks and get pizza garden for better taste and half the price. The reason they get 2 stars was because the server who helped me was VERY prompt and friendly. I REALLY wanted to love this place because of recommendations from people I know. Also, I REALLY want to give my money to local, independently owned businesses, but this place is just not worth it.

Solid Italian fare at this little place. The fellow and his wife that run it put in their love and it shows. You can't go too far wrong with the daily lunch specials. They have a nice wine selection which includes some nice Argentinian reds that are a nice break from the traditional Chianti and other Italian "vino du rossa casa". I will give them a go for dinner and give an update on that experience.

We went there to celebrate a birthday and gawd, we were treated like a royalty :-) Claudio, the owner personally attended to us and we didn't order our food ourselves but we trusted Claudio to just surprise us with his specialty, and he did!!! We had a variety of pasta dishes and they were all soooo good! We were a group of friends so we shared. It's lunch time when we dined there and it got really busy, it's smart to book a table or two ahead. The dishes were undoubtedly authentic Italian and they were so delicious!!! The celebrants also received very special yummy complementary desserts. If you are lucky, you can ask to buy a pasta sauce from Claudio :-) The location is not one of the trendiest, it is hidden among the car dealerships and industrial part of Lougheed/ Brentwood area. We have been dining here for multiple times now and we will be coming back for more.

The greeting by the owner was very rude and we felt mistreated. We noticed how he treated another couple who walked in after us and he treated them differently (better) and they also got all of their food first, although they arrived after us. We did not have a single good thing to say about the food or drinks. The pizza didn't have a taste, the garlic bread had too much garlic and the bruchetta was made completely wrong, overall the food was terrible and expensive for mediocre food. If it weren't for our waitress (not the owner), we would give this place 0 stars if possible. Our waitress was great and very friendly! She was the only highlight of the experience. Won't be back here anytime soon.

We got takeout from this place! We ordered in store and the server was very friendly and attentive. We got the penne primavera (chef's kiss), the antipasto misto (packaged well, we enjoyed the selection), and half an order of garlic bread. Service was decently quick (they said 15min and they were punctual!) during dinner hours. I liked that there were ample parking spaces in the lot for customers. I went here for the very first time even though they have been in business 21 years. Unfortunately, due to zoning and development they have to close but luckily for all of us Italian food loving people, they will be opening a new restaurant not far away at Claudio's Ristorante. All I can say is that Pasta Amore's service and their appies, entrees and desserts are fantastic. I ordered their meat lasagna and even though (for me) the portion size was small, the dish was the best I ever had (and I have had my fair share of lasagna). For dessert, I couldn't help but to eat my share (and my wife's) of the Tiramisu because it was just that good. And lastly, the pizzas were very simple, not heavy, with a crispy yet foldable crust. Looking forward to their new restaurant!

I would give 0 stars if it was possible. Food was ok but the service was terrible. I was having dinner with a friend tonight and the entire time, the staff stared at us as if we were going to dine and dash. The staff kept coming by and was trying to see what we are doing. This was only happening to my friend and me, the staff treated other patrons nicely. The moment we finished our food, the staff immediately cleared the table as if it was cue for us to leave. We haven't even had time to wind down from the meal. I would not come back even if the food here was amazing.

They were so rude with me and my wife just now. We left our home just to try this specific restaurant. We arrived at a Sunday night when there was just one table occupied. From theo moment that we arrived until he had to ask if anyone would take us to a table no one ever said anything. when I asked if we should seat one server said that we could choose any table, when we were almost seating another server rushed, that I guess it is the manager, just stopped us and said that table was reserved. Astonished we left the restaurant with every staff looking at us and doing nothing to solve the problem that they caused. First time we went there and never coming back. Worst service on Burnaby!

The customer service at this restaurant is absolutely horrendous and probably one of the worst I have ever experienced! I was there with 8 friends to celebrate a birthday dinner and the service and food was utterly disappointing. In addition to melting our ice cream birthday cake and spilling water all over our table, one of the servers kept asking me to move my chair 5 times during a 2 hour dinner disrupting me during my meal just so she can easily walk in between the tables. When I told her this is very disruptive and rude she yelled at me in front of the table and other guests. When I finally asked to speak to the “manager” she did not care and was not apologetic at all. We also brought an ice cream cake to celebrate our friend’s birthday and it was melted when they brought it out. We suspect they had refrigerated the cake rather than put it in the freezer. They didn’t cut it for us and just left us with the cake. They also charged us 18% gratuity charge on top of our bill! I would not recommend anyone to try this restaurant. The food was only mediocre (nothing even closely resembles Italian – we were just in Italy) and they do not understand or train their staff on what it means to be in the service industry. Also, their ‘special menu’ is the exact same price as the regular menu. Stay away from this restaurant! There are much better Italian restaurants in the area. I would not touch this restaurant with a 10-foot pole!

Nice cozy shop hidden away between garages and construction businesses in the heart of brentwood. Nice decor, really cozy inside, pretty clean, there's a legit pizza oven in the back. The food is delicious and tasty, pasta is well made, not over or under cooked. The pizza is nice thin and crusty, the chef doesn't customize the pizza, you take it as is. Lots of parking in the parking lot, if not there are plenty of street parking around. Will definitely be back to try other things

I would have left a good review except the portions are very small and I didn't get part of my order, so now I'm hangry. When you pay $70 plus tax for 2 people, you expect to get enough food to eat leftovers the next day but I didn't even get enough for one meal. Super bummed out. The flavours were great. We got pasta because pizza usually arrives cold and soggy on deliveries from this type of restaurant but the pasta was cooked perfectly, vegetables too. But...missing part of my order blows, and they give you European size portions at American size prices. And, we ordered sides of homemade bread which are just dinky pieces of bread each put into a separate styrofoam container. Yikes! So don't order that.

Found this gem recently and I found a go to place for pizza. With a friend, we had a gnocchi and Hawaiian pizza. The pesto gnocchi was rich and creamy. While we were having it the pizza came out and I enjoyed dipping the pizza into the pesto pasta sauce. The pizza was just right, not dry at all and very flavourful. One thing I liked the most was our server. The old guy was very friendly and kind. I enjoyed chatting with him.

I never leave reviews and I am usually very lenient with bad quality food, but this was unbelievable... This is the first time I have ever left a dish untouched. We ordered this through Uber Eats because we saw that the reviews were pretty good. What Iwe received was, I'll use the word, disgusting. I did not feel safe eating the lasagna. I couldn't identify the pasta sheets because underneath a layer of grease and cheese was a mush that looked like leftovers piled together. Again, I am quite forgiving with bad food so I did give it a nibble to taste it, and it tasted old, bloated, and I am genuinely concerned that this was stuff at the bottom of a pot sitting in a sink replated and put in a microwave. The Vongole was not a Vongole, which is an oil and wine based sauce. What we received was bloated noodles swimming in a layer of grease, tomato sauce that was just like out of a can or something, and Manila clams that I was also afraid to eat because I didn't trust their freshness. The clam texture was also a little mushy so they clearly had been sitting around for a while. The pizza was the only thing we really ate, and that too was only because we were so hungry. This only reminded me that screwing up a pizza is really difficult... The (cold) ~10inch or something pizza was cut in 4 huge, irregular slices, which really just showed to us that whoever prepared the dish absolutely did not care about what he was putting out. Oh and instead of Calabrese, we got some sort of smoked ham. All in all, my wife and I only ate the pizza because we were way too hungry, and I am actually worried about what we've just put in our bodies. Whoever prepared the food (I refuse to call them cooks, having been one myself) clearly did not care or had just given up on the food and restaurant, and the quality makes me worry about how much, if at all, they are paying attention to food safety and hygiene. I might have forgiven the pizza and pasta, but the lasagna was what really made this unacceptable. I don't know what happened, because it seems a lot of people left great reviews of this place. Regardless, whether this restaurant was a good place previously, right now, I would aggressively turn people away from here. If the owner or chef is reading this (which I hope), please stop this, pay more attention, and respect your customers, your food, and your business.

Server was rushing and botherd on a slow sunday. Also they used cream in their carbonara!!! I was really dissapointed by this untraditional watery sauce, what a let down. Portion sizes are small for an italian joint. I spent over 100$ and tipped 20% but wont go back.

Good portions for the price and pasta was good until I had a piece of plastic in my mouth! I am assuming it came off the bacon that was in the pasta and I lost the appetite. Only got a sorry from the waitress and that's it. A poor first impression from this place....

Having recently moved into the area, I was eager to try some of the local eats. I ordered their porcini and sausage pizza @ $26 dollars, (I think it may be the most expensive one too) through Ubereats and was thoroughly disappointed. Maybe pizzas wasn’t their speciality but definitely not a $26 dollar pie. The toppings were also cut in somewhat large chunks, as was the cheese, making the pizza look even worse.

BAD SERVICE!!! It was my first time with my family, they ask for wait, we wait about 10 minutes. There was more than 30 seats are available, they put us seat for 2 and extra chair for my mother. The table was too tight for 3. I asked for other seats, they said it all reserved, REALLY?? There is a booth with full of craps and more then 30 seats are empty. Haven't try their food but I DO NOT WANT TO GO AGAIN FOR SUCH SERVICE.

The food at this place is great, but lately the service has become horribly poor. Last week we came and asked for the recommended pizza and the server replied: “how would I know, I don’t like pizza”, and it was just a horrible service afterwards. Today we decided to give it another try, to be met by a horribly rude server who just refused to sit us because we came 10 minutes earlier than our reservations. After trying to explain to her that it was only a couple of minutes she just yelled at us: “I can’t, I simply don’t understand” and walked away. It is sad to see this happening because the food is good, but the service has become simply terrible. I hope that the restaurant managers read this post so that they can take corrective actions. The experience with that service was just a bad one.

worst service ever! we tried to go here to celebrate my aunts birthday but they took over 45 minutes just to take our drink order, the waitress was very rude to everyone at the table especially my 4 year old daughter calling her a liar and when it came time to pay they screwed up the bill and the waitress added $60 to my wife's credit card bill. when we returned to address this to the owner asking what was with the mysterious $60 added after we paid he said to us " well the waitress thought you did not tip her enough"... are you serious? highly do not recommend this place to anyone as you will regret it.

Server/owner was very pushy and manipulative, poor service. Lasagna was not even warm. Sent back, came back after few mins, even cooler. Requested to heat up again. the same server was debating on why they don't want to serve hot food, because people complain food being hot. Food came back hot but sauce was all ruined. Overpriced at $16, cold, small no bread no nothing but attitude. I say spend your money else where.

The pizzas here are incredible. Light, crispy crust with good cheese and sauce. The Prawns could have used more seasoning and we really average size shrimp. They were good shrimp, but not $15 shrimp. The service was excellent though. Friendly and very accommodating. I would certainly visit again, but maybe 2 pizzas instead of pizza and the shrimp would be better value.

We've been looking for the perfect Italian stone roast pizza in the Burnaby area and the experience here certainly did not disappoint. Very comparable in cost to other options in the area. Overall a great experience ordering here met with immaculate service as well as good safety protocols in place (during the pandemic). The pizzas were done right with a generous amount of toppings.

Claudio is the best. I had the chance to revisit this gem of a restaurant and it again exceeded expectations. Well priced and even better some of the best flavored pasta and pizza around. I look forward to them opening in a new location in the near future.
