My wife and I decided to try L'Arista one evening almost a year ago and fell in love with the place, the atmosphere, the staff and food were incredible, when we first walked in, we felt we were in Italy, the staff were a joy to be with, so attentive, always there when needed, the food is always served hot, and looks like a Michaelangelo painting. Classy restaurant. We received a friendly greeting from the staff when we arrived. The place was packed, which is a good sign. The menu had a great selection of dishes, and the portion sizes were reasonable for the prices. We received our food quickly despite how busy the restaurant was. The taste and the quality of the food was amazing. I will be going back to this family run restaurant again. It was obvious that the staff were passionate about serving Italian food.

We ordered a seafood dish, La artista veal, Ravioli with chicken steak, red wines, and some desserts. Food was OK enough, not very great though. (brutally oily). From dessert part, I can say their Tiramisu is something must-try. The ambiance was very noisy and crowded. Not at all recommended for lovi-dovi night.

Amazing food, fresh made pasta and a decent variety to choose from. A bit pricey but not out of the typical pasta range. Portions are not huge either - maybe a touch smaller than average servings. This is a quality pasta spot and has been for years and years. Rose sauce is a must try. You won't be disappointed.

Authentic Italian food with good flavour. Portions are OK yet I felt the value didn't match the experience as much as it could have. This little place has been around for a long time and this could be their saving grace with longevity and loyalty. I've stated before in other reviews that it's getting expensive eating out. Probably because of high fuel costs and just general inflation. Restaurants will have to step up their game if they want to keep their doors open. Since I travel the province for business, I eat out all the time and have noticed an interesting pattern develop. What I've discovered is that menu items of mediocre restaurants have gone up in price and are now on par with the higher quality food items of better restaurants. They invariably may suffer bad consequences when their customer base catches on to what's happening. These smaller independent restaurants have a key role in communities and they must not rest on their laurels because the corporate monsters will (pardon the pun) eat them alive! Anyways, I digress! L'Arista has charm and eloquence. I will go back because their food is consistently delicious.

10 stars...house salad with creamy dressing (outstanding), flakey pull apart bread with fluffy creamy butter (delicious), Ravioli alla Sorrentina (HUGE, we shared, good thing, Perfect). Fast service. The reviews helped, but did not do it justice. I wish we didn't live so far away (Oregon). We'd be back often. Go you won't regret it.

Great food and fantastic service! Quaint little Italian restaurant with authentic cuisine, Sinatra playing in the background and staff with a true Italian accent makes this place feel like you could actually be in Italy. Also what stood out is when my girlfriend and I went we arrived with less than 30 mins before they closed... Instead of turning us away they gladly seated us and most importantly we didn't feel rushed even for a second in any way, shape or form. It was a wonderful and delicious experience all around, I will definitely go back :)

Busy so reservations are recommended, lovely Italian decor, complimentary bakery buns, and dinner came out quick. I had the veal ravioli and he had the veal L'Artista. The ravioli was mouthwatering. Rich flavour and quite filling. His veal dinner was tender and thankfully was not breaded. Dinner was so filling that we didn't have room for dessert. We'll gladly go back another time.

We popped in as all the other cheaper eateries had line ups. Having dined family style over the years there with my ex's family, I had heard the ownership had changed and was curious. Warm friendly atmosphere. Typical mom and pop Italian Eatery. We had the seafood antipasto for two, meat lasagna, and mixed seafood fettuccine in white cream sauce. The food was very good, fresh. and very tasty. The antipasto calamari was very tender. I would maybe say that the portion was small for the price. Lasagna was great as well as the fettuccine dish. Mussels in all dishes very tender. Will be back for a mussels dish. My partner enjoyed bantering with the staff in fluent Italian. I would critique that the beer prices were a bit steep and no draft beer. 8.5 of of 10! will be back.

Booked a Birthday Party for 7. The service was good. The food was ok. My Lasagna was obviously made well before I ordered it. I think it was frozen. It came in an oven-heated dish. There was no consistency. It was porridge. I have eaten in high-end AUTHENTIC ITALIAN restaurants before. There was nothing ATHENTIC about this food. As far as the other reviewers on this page......I don't think they have ever had REAL ITALIAN before. Save room for McDonald's

Order 2 meals through skip the dish and when we got our delivery only got 1 dish. Then phoned and talk to manager he said he would deliver the food to us but all he did is phone skip and had skip post the credit but I would not recommend this place for service and the manager confirmed it was there error. I order 2 meals 1 lasagna which was not good and the gnocchi which would of been good but never got it because of the lack of attention and due care. There was no profanity used he is trying to cause blame to the customer

This is definitely one of the best Italian places in Burnaby! My wife and I stumbled upon it last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The Calamari Piccanti was grilled to perfection while our Linguine con Vongole and Penne All'arabiata were delicious. The food took a while (as they should!) so be patient and prepare to wait about 30 minutes. The pasta was slightly overcooked, so I'll need to ask for al dente next time. The service was good and the manager comes around to greet you personally, which is a nice touch. Just make sure to come over to ours next time ;)

A wonderful experience, nothing fancy, but good value food and quality. The serving is big, so my friend and I have take away almost haft of the dish after we finish. The seafood and fresh, the Agnolotti are big and tasty, atmosphere is very authentic, if anyone who is new to Italian cuisine, one won't be disappointed at this location. I believe I could try each dish one by one and still be quite content. I can feel the heart the owner and the chef put in the dishes and management.

There was a hair in my boyfriend's food, the pasta sauce was plain and the calamari was a bust. Cartilage in my Alfredo, and just honestly, boring food. A franchise chain restaurant would be better. I was offended by the fact that the so called "cheesecake" was clearly made out of cool whip. Not a cheesecake....not even close.

We ordered pick-up for two pasta, linguine ai gamberoni and linguine alle vongole. We are amazed by the taste of the food. Takeout is usually expected to be less delicious but their pasta is still splendid. Linguine is al dente, seasoning is on point and the portion is good. Their pasta tastes the best among the Italian restaurants in the nearby area in my opinion (I have tried at least 5 restaurants). I sincerely hope they can survive through the pandemic as we are looking forward to dining in afterwards.

The restaurant closed at 10pm and we arrived at 9, maybe because we were the last one…but the food was horrible. Bread was re-heated so it’s crispy in a wrong way. We ordered two pasta and both of them taste greasy and way too creamy. Almost feel like my grandmother’s wool ball throw into the plate, messy and no appetite. Tasty dishes, as always. It was quite busy this Monday evening. All the specials tonight were appealing and it was difficult to choose, but I settled on the veal parmesan. Good choice. The soup special was a creamy vegetable that was like a potage. Also a good choice. My wife enjoyed her lemon piccata and our dining partners enjoyed the chicken parmesan and the house veal scalopini.

Had the mixed seafood pasta dish, had it for takeout and was impressed by the look, taste and size when I got it home 5 minutes later, unfortunately for me 2 hours after consuming the meal I had horrible stomach pains and was nice and friendly with my toilet for awhile afterwards. Maybe it was the shellfish or maybe the prawns? I was very let down by this due to the fact this place has such high reviews and people tend to boast about it, maybe it was my fault for ordering seafood as a first dish experience but regardless be wary of the seafood dishes they serve here, you might have to experience your meal twice like I did...

My pasta was pipping hot exactly how it should be when it's cooked fresh and straight to the table. My biggest pet peeve is having lukewarm food when it's supposed to be hot. Family oriented, homestyle restaurant, relaxed with good service. Prices are similar to chain restaurants so why not choose an independent restautant.

Exceptional service and inviting atmosphere for local Italian flavors. Priced well for this personalized family owned and operated getaway. My favorites start with the Prawn Piccanti and a complementary basket of warm bread for dipping, to be followed by the Veal Piccata and paired with the Burrowing Owl Merlot. Love this place and the special feeling of everything it offers. If you have not experienced it, I would recommend taking a teaser visit to learn what your missing out on and treat yourself.

Great food always consistent. Family owned for 20 years I heard. Wait staff very friendly and knowledgeable of menu. Dated decor but gives it it's charm I think. Recommend it and will be back. I had 2 specials capresee salad to start then veal marsala with mushroom risotto side. My partner had prawn piccanti to start and homemade Cannaloni special. All excellent flavour. With wine and desserts homemade tiramisu and chocolate mousse. Was great.

Restricted take out menu was disappointing, although they did try to accommodate our requests, the lack of lamb was a big disappointment. Damn COVID! We look forward to dining in again soon.

Very overrated place. It has nice interior, music and service however the food is pretty bland and mediocre. Also the service is pretty slow even when the restaurant is almost empty. So if you’re not coming for food but have a nice conversation mostly, you gonna like it.

Had a table for 7 on Sunday evening and everything was great !!...Was personally my first time here and will be back as the food ( Lasagna ) that I had was great and the server was very attentive ! ...Thanks for a great dinner out ! :)
