Can't recommend this restaurant enough. Came for my mother's birthday and the staff were so friendly and polite from the very beginning. The chef even came out to greet us, and when we ordered, they had finished ingredients for one dish, but the chef made us a similar dish since we wanted to try the seafood and it was amazing. Everything was SO fresh and the atmosphere is lively and welcoming. Even brought out a tiramisu cake for my mother on the house, which was so kind and appreciated. Chef came out multiple times to check on the food and our waitress was very patient and kind. Will absolutely be coming back and would recommend for anyone wanting to enjoy high quality Italian food with great atmosphere.

Their food is truly incredible, with fresh, authentic flavours and textures that transport you out of your living room into an Italian kitchen. Every single item we've tried has been just beautiful. The staff is great, but this time I wanted to comment on how personable and accommodating my waitress Emilia was, it made my time here all the better. Absolutely horrible. I am so furious that after an hour and a half long wait I get 4 PIECES of ravioli in the most bland generic sauce. I ordered Uber eats for the 24$ ravioli and for that I get less than a child’s meal that isn’t even good and it’s cold. This isn’t even worth 10$. And the shipping they charge 7$???

Great place. Foods awesome from the portion of the menu they had available. They had run out of pizza dough for the day due to a busy lunch service. But the pasta, appetizers and service was great! Would go back again! Only reason for 4 stars is because we couldn't try the pizza! ????

The gnocchi is a must. We he had a great time. The service was great. The food was very enjoyable. The Lamb bolognese was also very good. We finished it off with a nice tiramisu and cannoli. I really enjoyed the tiramisu. We will visit again and try more dishes.

The environment and the overall atmosphere were amazing. The food was full of flavour and the flavours just popped in the mouth and tasted TOO GOOD! Though I had to add a bit of salt and black pepper according to my need. The only problem was the portion. For the price i found the amount not fulfilling. I ordered mushroom, spaghetti gambiri and scallopine. The dessert (cannoli) was the best part. The service was outstanding. The waiters are smart, fast and really helpful. The chef personally came and asked about the food and everything which felt heart warming and homely. Will definitely visit again and again if they keep up the quality.

The pasta I received was simply small portioned and not good - a bit more detail on this; I felt like my dish lacked flavor was watery. I'm not sure if my group felt that way that night. Upon reading the reviews - I was hesitant on leaving one as management clearly is hostile and has an attitude about it. If you choose to leave a review be prepared to get attitude and hostility when you complain. Instead of being defensive, argumentative and hostile, I would recommend listening to constructive criticism and feedback from your customers.

Straight up the best lasagna I have ever had. The service was friendly and added to the overall experience. I was very happy with the meal and will definitely be going back soon! I stated my review before trying the panna cotta... WOW!!

A Bright and beautiful restaurant, comfortable chairs ,temperature wise I found it to be a bit chilly. I was there at 7 p.m. in the evening. Good service. The menu had some old favourites and some new dish combinations. Very nice Red House wine . It is a brand new restaurant there are some kinks that need to be worked out. Definitely a place I would try again . I went with my husband and we both could go back.

Went with a table of three and was able to share three plates comfortably with an appetizer and desserts to share. service was excellent throughout the meal and there was no wait for a table since we made reservations ahead of time. they had a parking lot but it was full so we parked on the nearby uphill street. The gnocchi was my favorite. cooked and seasoned perfectly. we also enjoyed the pizza and pasta we selected. Crust on the pizza was traditional crust with a nice crunch to the crust. Kitchen was closed so there was no view to the cooking. I wasn't a fan of the dessert size but it was still enjoyable for the quantity you get. overall good pick with parking nearby. we spent a bit of cash for a good quality experience.

I feel horrible leaving this because our server was great and did try to make the situation better. As a business owner myself, I would want to hear this feedback: The reason I won’t be coming back is because I have never been told that the poor food quality is my fault. I ordered the pistachio pasta. It came out cold. The pasta was extremely undercooked. Our server told us the chef said “it is al dente and if you wanted it more cooked you should’ve said so” in what world is it okay to say this to a customer? I love my pasta al dente and I obviously know the difference between uncooked pasta. I understand many people don’t like al dente so if it is usually cooked this way, shouldn’t it be mentioned on the menu? My parents food was bland and definitely not worth the price. It was an overall bad experience. The vibe is very hostile and you know it’s bad when the customers can tell what a toxic environment this is to work in. Again, I won’t go into more detail but I hope this feedback helps La Forchetta become the restaurant it used to be and appears to be on google.

Went a couple of months ago (before the covid indoor dining restrictions) and was sat at the bar. The head waiter was rude and stressed the entire time. My main issue was he was very rude to the other staff in front of customers! The food was lovely (even though they lost our cheque and it took an hour to come) and the chef was delightful when he came out to say hi. I would say worth a try but definitely not on a Saturday night when the waiters are stressed and busy.

Not the same as it used to be. ..overpriced, is main complaint. Charged $6 for a small can of tonic my friend and I were expected to split for our cocktails.. on top of the price of the cocktail. $ 24 for spinach ravioli. Ordered a monte Cristo,was informed no Cointreau.. settled for an Irish coffee and requested whip cream.. no whip cream, so requested a sugar packet.. never came. My impression is that they sacrificed quality for quantity.. very underwhelmed for a $100 cheque for one

I usually don't like to leave one star reviews, especially during these times, but I wanted to share our experience, as it was definitely one to remember and not in a good way. We visited for my Dad's birthday and were looking forward to trying the fresh, homemade pasta everyone seemed to be raving about online, as all of the posted photos looked amazing. The reason for the one star is not because of the lovely trendy but cozy ambiance, or the really ingenious washroom waiting notification system(!), but because service was EXTREMELY slow (on a Wednesday night). Our party of 6 waited 2 hours for our mains (with a larger party of 10 who got seated and ordered an hour after us only waiting about 20 minutes between appetizers and mains), with no explanation as to why, despite not all of the tables being occupied. We were also told at arrival that we had to vacate our table after 1 hour for another party (so we rushed to order and eat our appetizers), only to get moved to another table mid way, but again with no explanation as to why (our original table was vacant the entire time). It was only after our party wanted to leave that our mains finally showed up (horrible timing), and most of the pasta dishes were not hot and dry (and my Dad's veal was soggy and chewy). The wait staff and only chef that night eventually came to apologize and explain that they took on too many reservations even though they knew they were understaffed, but by then our experience was ruined. We unfortunately will not be returning, but if you still want to try this place based on the majority of good reviews, we only suggest checking how busy it is beforehand to hopefully avoid the same experience we had!

What a hidden gem! Excellent Italian food, on par with osteria savio volpe, but since it’s off the beaten path, parking and getting a table are less of a hassle. We had the burrata, pistachio pasta, and papardelle. The dishes were perfectly cooked and flavoured. The restaurant decor is bright and polished and the service was friendly and quick. Can’t wait to go back!

Three of us stopped in for lunch the other day and had an excellent experience. It was our first time visiting and our server was very knowledgeable with perfect menu recommendations and fantastic wine pairings of Italian wines. We started with the Calamari, which could not have been better. Our gnocchi with a truffle sauce was absolutely amazing and a big hit at the table. My wife had the Margherita Pizza. It was amazing, too!! At that point, we had nothing to lose and did desert, as well. Everything was so excellent up till then, we felt we had to try something of each course. Cannoli, Tiramisu, and Pistachio Gelato. Again, excellent. We left there feeling so good about the dining experience that we are already planning to go back this week. Five stars for service, five stars for a delicious lunch. Thank you and see you again, this week!

Tasted like AUTHENTIC Italian not North American interpreted Italian. The flavours were simple but well done! Highly recommend. The service needs to improve to match the food. We had to flag the waiter for additinal drinks, first order, dessert. Must try forsure! Their olive oil on their salad is out of this world

It's not a stretch to say this is probably the best Italian Restaurant in Burnaby. Was there last night and was able to try their new Menu items. I had the Veal, nicely cooked and some really great flavours, we also had the Ravioli, a Pizza and the Chocolate Gnocchi .... so YUMMY Loved the sauce on the Ravioli and the Pizza, Im not really a dough guy that loves pizza crust, this pizza had light dough and was cooked to perfection I would Highly recommend them if you love Italian food

Wow, what a great meal! We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and were greeted warmly by the hostess. Lots of choices, the same menu is presented at dinner as well. We thoroughly enjoyed the burrata as an appy, so creamy and fresh. We each had pasta, amazing how fresh, house-made pasta makes the dish. The chef was also out to say hi. Bonus, lots of parking out back. North Burnaby has another great dining experience!

I went to take my family of 6 to uncelebrate my birthday. Yes uncelebrated, you read this right. My first impression of the interior was that it is modern, clean and inviting. Unfortunately the whole dining experience for us was very very unremarkable due to being moved from our table due to a private parties request. And no, we didn't cause any disturbances. We were there for our 7pm reso. and we were waiting for our mains for almost 2 hours!!! They have even table signage to respect the 1 1/2hr. time limit!! I then told our server for the bill as we couldn't wait any longer. We were ready to walk as 5/6 mains were just luke warm at best. They did comp my glass of wine, 2 appies. At 1st it was just going to be free coffee.. Anyway we later discovered talking to our server that there was only the chef working the kitchen and no other kitchen help. The owner did come out to apologize but the total experience was a complete loss.That private party of about 10 came in later after us and THEY got served their meals. How bout renaming this restaurant La Forgetabouta this place?? Our regret is we should have walked or they should not have taken our reso.

Authentic Italian food, you can tell the pasta is freshly made and cooked to perfection, al dente. The octopus (polpo) is lovely, great texture and wonderfully seasoned. Food is perfecto, plenty parking in the back and sidewalk, reservation is highly recommended or you will sit at the bar.

We haven’t physically been to this restaurant so can’t speak to the service. Ordered the Maltagliati la Forchetta and Tagliatelle Tartufo. Both dishes were fantastic. The quantity was plentiful for one meal, albeit on the higher price point compared to portion size. Tiramisu was scrumptious! We’ll definitely try more dishes from this restaurant!

Yes, this is a good restaurant. Classic style of appetizer, main and dessert. I had as truffle pasta. Perfect. Partner had ravioli. Food great. Service not so much. Not asked if we wanted another glass of wine. Had to ask for dessert menu. Interior is a little stark, in that minimalist way.

My Husband and I came here for the first time for our Anniversary. The food was SO AMAZING! I felt like I was having authentic Italian food for the first time. The truffle gnocchi was absolutely incredible. Our server was kind, efficient and helped us navigate the menu. The bottle of pinot grigio we paired with dinner is now one of our favs. I wish I could eat here every night! Looking forward to the next time we have a special occasion to return.

I went to La Forchetta for dinner to celebrate a friends birthday 2 weeks ago and I was very impressed on how COVID ready they were. There were dividers between tables and the servers were wearing PPE. Now let’s come to the juicy part! The food was amazing, we ordered appetizers, entrees and dessert. Moreover, portions were perfect! So come on an empty stomach otherwise you’ll have a meal for the next day :)

So initially I thought this place was pretty good but overall I wasn’t too impressed. It took them a while to get to us but when we were served, they were great. Very personable. I do design as a profession and could tell that it was not designed by a designer however it is much more modern and updated than when it was Da Mario’s. The couple who own it are a nice Italian couple, the husband is the chef and only speaks Italian and the wife manages the front of house. The burrata was amazing! Where it fell back was on the pasta dishes. They left something to be desired. The gnocchi was a little too mushy under all that cheese. The mushroom pasta with the oil sauce was probably the best out of what we tried.

We had such an amazing experience at La Forchetta. We were seated quickly by a very lovely server. The decor is modern and clean. We had the fresh ravioli and Valentina pizza with creamy burratta on top. The food was DELICIOUS! We were so impressed with the pizza crust and the thin hand made pasta. We finished the meal off with the tiramisu.. amazing. Go here, you’ll leave feeling full and happy. Also the servers’ Italian accents make it feel even more authentic.

The restaurant was really clean, and staff were attentive. We ordered Pappardelle (with sausage) and Linguine di Mare (seafood pasta). Both were good. Not as spectacular as the pasta at two of our favorite Italian restaurants, so I am only giving it 4 stars. But definitely will come back to try out other items on their menu.

Came here fory wife's birthday dinner with another couple, our table wasn't ready for us so we started our night in the bar area, this was disappointing because we Didint get our table for almost 2 hours after our reservation. This obviously is not the restaurants fault as people over stayed their welcome. Food : The food was really delicious from appetizers to desert, we started off with the antipasto for 2 and the lamb skewers ( would definitely get both again.) All 4 of our mains had a ton of flavour, and tasted very authentic (portion sizes could have been a bit bigger for the price point) we got the Gnocci, Tartufo pasta, Mussels main dish, and parppedela rose. I would recommend all of these. Desert : pannacota and a decaf afigato were amazing Drinks: they were out of peronis ???? but other than that everything was really good. Service: All the staff was very apologetic for the seating inconveniences and took care of our desert. Very attentive and quick to get us our orders. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice place with good food.

Super slow service and salty as the dead sea. I went home and puked salty barf. English italians pretending to be nice. I will never eat there again unless I want to be like a wild animal finding a salt lick block slated to hunt. Go to Cotto instead 2 blocks east. The English man from Italy basically kicked us out once we finished our salt fest.

It was a decent Italian restaurant with quality ingredients. The Capricciosa pizza was really good but had a bit too much olives for my taste. The Maltagliati La Forchetta was also quite good but the flavour was a bit too subtle. However that was just nitpicking and I would still recommend.

Unlike a lot of nice Italian restaurants the food is understated. Not too rich or salty. Simple menu. Clean modern styling. Friendly and helpful staff. Delicious wine and desserts. The ambience, architecture, and design of the restaurant are quite pleasant. The waitresses and hosts were very helpful, fast and quite friendly. The food we ordered were the chicken salad (Scallopine), Mushroom, and Spaghetti Gamberi. We asked for extra salt, black pepper and chilli flakes. The food packed flavors and coated the tongue like you wish in any Italian cusine. Excellente! The cannoli was gone in less than a minute between my girlfriend and I. The only issue I found was the price to serving ratio. For the same price dinner even at Cactus Club my gf and I felt fuller and didn't have to eat again when we came back home.

The food was delicious, I had the steak and my husband had the Paccheri al pistachio and we shared. The homemade pasta was unbelievable. Ended the dinner with the Cannolis, a must!! Had the privilege of visiting this little gem in north Burnaby . From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed . We enjoyed the meatballs followed by an amazing carbonara and a lasagna !! Besides pasta, we love many other menu items as well restaurant design and the COVID safety measures they follow. My personal favourite is Linguine allo Scoglio. Chef Manrico is one of the best chefs in Vancouver Lower Mainland.

This place is probably the best Italian food in the area. La Forcetta does an amazing job of fusing modern and traditional Italian cooking into a delicious and innovative product. The staff is friendly and well trained. I haven’t had a bad meal here yet. Keep up the good work!!

good server- thanks giovanni. food was decent though their non house made sausage had a hair it in. questionable management, when a container of sanitizer fell over me because it was only hanging by a screw on the wall (meaning pressure placed on the button at the bottom would cause the whole thing to come off) they just put it back up for the next person to dowse themselves in alcohol. multiple menu items missing but info not communicated to the server resulting in a lot of back and forth to see what the kitchen didn't have. staff and/or family sitting inside chatting in italian, all of which my friend from reggio could hear lol

Absolutely amazing authentic Italian food, with some very unique dishes and truly friendly management. Particularly outstanding on this visit was the "Insalata di Mare" (such beautifully fresh seafood) and the "Paccheri al Pistacchio" (one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had). If you are looking for a restaurant in this part of the world that can offer you a meal favourably comparable to some of the best in Italy, then this is definitely the place to go. Perhaps the best Italian Ristorante in North Burnaby , always love their spaghetti alle Vongole, ambiance is always welcoming, and love the fact that the chef takes time to see each table and make sure " everything was satisfactory " I also love the variety of cocktails, to which Fabrizio is an awesome mixologist ! If you want good fresh pasta , then you need to check this place out , can't wait till they have the live music nights again ! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did ........

Visited this place a week ago for a gathering. Ambiance and food was good. They just need to be more organized before taking on large groups. The chef came out and and apologized for the delay of service, which was appreciated by our group and the other remaining tables. We’ll try this place again down the road.

Want a great place to waste your time? Welcome to La Forchetta. 2 Hours to get your food while contemplating on leaving to devour a bigmac instead. The wait staff made it clear that an hr and a half is all we had for our reservation, yet the food came out 2 hours later. Hmm...the math doesn't add up...At the 1.5 hr mark we were escorted to another table because we were told that our table was pre-paid to keep vacant for a larger party that wanted the extra privacy. By the time we left, the server told us that it was a miscommunication and the party did not end up paying for the extra space. What a joke. Maybe they thought we would enjoy playing musical chairs on an empty stomach. Food takes forever to come, lack of communication, miscommunication and got shuffled around like animals because they had more important customers. Your time and money is better spent elsewhere. Cheers.

Was here today. I am giving this place a three start rating because of its service, if I was rating the food only I would give it a 2. The restaurant is really nice inside. It's was clean and nicely decorated. The service was good and the food came out on timely manner. However the food for my liking was not very good. I ordered the ravioli and it was a bit bland and it was definitely over cooked. We had a Caprese salad the tomatoes were not very good, the olive oil that was used didn't taste the greatest. It also didn't have any balsamic vinegar, but some people use it and some don't this is just my preference. We also had a gnocchi plate and this one was the worst of them all. The gnocchi was so over cooked, and the sauce was tasteless. I was glad I wasn't the one eating it. The presentation of the food was nice. Pricing was ok. Would I go back no. Coffee was good.

Highly recommended. I was craving Italian and was in the neighbourhood - and was so blown away we ended up staying well past time for their closing time. The atmosphere was excellent, great service, lovely owners, the pasta was amazing, the bruschetta was amazing, and they had a special limited reserve wine that we got a bottle of and it paired perfectly with their recommended dishes. The tiramisu was then the icing on the cake. The space is clean and ambient, and they take their covid precaution procedures very seriously. I'll be back! Please support this lovely find.

We had a private party of 35 guests just before La Forchetta was officially opened. Manrico and Marcella are a wonderful couple. The 5 course meal was delicious. Everyone loved the authentic Italian food. Service was great and such a great setting. Highly recommend the restaurant.

We came here for our anniversary. We’ve reserved a table for 2, so we got the table right away even though we showed up 15 min early. Foods are good. I have to say everything is fresh, I love the fresh texture of house made pasta. But, there was one undercooked clam, not yet opened in my plate. Besides that, the service is okay, ~friendly. I’ve waited for 10 minutes to be given the menu. Also, one server accidentally splashed sanitizer liquid to my face from spraying its while he was cleaning the table next to us. I think he might be not aware of that, so no apology for that... I get that the restaurant was busy, but it’s not an excuse. Overall, I still recommend this place. Would love to come back another time.

We have had many opportunities to dine at La Forchetta and each visit did not disappoint. The restaurants atmosphere is extremely welcoming & cozy with a modern feel to it. I love how the chef makes a point to come out to each guest to say hi and check to make sure everything is ok. He truly values his work as a chef. Bravo to you, Manrico. The food is absolutely delicious and the menu has many options to choose from. I highly recommend this Burnaby gem, it is exactly what was needed to this community! Cant wait to visit again!!

Had the luxury of being there the other night. The room was full, great ambiance and vibe. We started with a Caprese Salad, awesome presentation, full slotted tomato with the bocconcini basil placed in the slots, so good. My pappardelli with spicy sausage sauce was amazing, fresh pasta makes all the difference. My wife’s lasagna was just as good! Great friendly service, finally a great Italian go to spot in North Burnaby!!

Food- 5/10 Service- 1/10 Service- The hostess that greeted us was friendly. The server however was quite rude. When we were ready to order, he literally just said “Tell me!” in an aggressive tone that surprised us as that was our first interaction with him. When we ordered our food, he just listened, took our menus, and left. QUICKLY. No acknowledgement. Whenever he dropped off our drinks or food, he would just drop it and QUICKLY leave. I had to almost yell for some hot sauce that I’ve previously asked when ordering our food. No checking on how our food is and no refill on our water. I hate to say this, but from what we saw, he was really friendly to non asians. I saw him being friendly and chatting with others, but quite rude to us. When we were paying, we said thank you first, and he just quickly mumbled thank you. He didn’t say anything else. Food was okay. We had the veal, linguine di mare, and Maltlagliati la forchetta. The linguine was probably the best out of the 3 we ordered.

Had a reservation of 6 people for my friends birthday last night. Server was nice at first. Then the food came. I ordered the seafood linguini. The pasta was over cooked and the sauce was very bland. Just a mediocre dish for 28 dollars! They gave us 5 slices of bread for a table of six. Why cheap out on the bread. Yes I complained to the server to which he was taken back and then started being rude. Then our bill came, they wanted to charge 12 dollars for water! (2 bottles). I complained once again and he proceeded to take only one bottle off which doesn’t make any sense. He never mentioned once that still water would be an additional charge. Seating was very squishy for a table of six. I could barely move let alone breath. Will not be returning. Saw him speaking to the manager as well but she never came once to approach our table. DO NOT EAT HERE.

Reccomended so thought we would support. They put in a fantastic patio due to covid restrictions with propane heaters. First time there so have not tried many menu items. The service was great considering the long walk from kitchen to patio . My wife enjoyed the house red , seemed to be a generous pour . The reason for the 3 stars was my wife's pasta was mediocre and my steak which was expensive came sliced in small strips , and was served with 3 small slices of bread and a few lettuce leaves .Don't know why you would slice a steak up , maybe to hide what sort of steak it really was ? Tenderness and flavor just ok . Would not recommend. Would we try this restaurant again ,possibly but certainly would not order the steak .

Disappointed by the food - price doesn't reflect the quality. Pizza capricciosa was watery in the middle and extremely salty as well as the pasta. Pasta looked like was left on the counter for too long and then reheated in the microwave before sending it to us. Staff and service was fine, stylish modern place, but Chefs didnt do good job on food. Will not return.
