Awesome food & service
Cozy, local spot with nice atmosphere and good food. Their meat sauce is some of the best I've had.
Pasta sauce was awesome but dish was disproportionate with toppings. There was too much noodles than little toppings.
A nice restaurant around the corner of Edmonds street. They have pretty good food! Feel free to check it out if u happen to pass by!
Meal type
Great food and even better service!!!
Came here for dinner on a Monday night. Quiet relaxing vibe for casual pasta eats. Started with calamari; lightly floured and tasty with great tzatziki. For pasta, I ordered the Scaloppatte with extra scallops and Penne noodles. Penne tasted storebought and cream sauce was a bit watery. Girlfriend got the Tettrazine with spinach linguine, and those noodles tasted like they were made in-house. Will come back again to try different dishes, may change review as it goes.
Such delicious pasta and garlic bread. I still make the trip from Coquitlam to eat here.
Favorite local Italian food, big portions, never rushed, great atmosphere
Best pasta place in lower mainland.
Wow !!! I ordered the "build your own " pasta. And it was excellent. Lots of ingredients and enough pasta. Highly recommended. ????????
Really enjoyed the Alfredo pasta. Portion was great and taste.
So nice to be back here! Very much enjoyed pasta with a few family members after such a long time. Great food and fabulous service...thank you for making our night out after what seemed like forever, fantastic. We'll be back soon! ????
Service
This place is amazing! Some of the best pasta and huge portions!
This is your place if you would've gone to Anton's in North Burnaby but the line is too long. The large pastas were HUGE - like, ridiculously huge. If you get a large size you will be taking some home no matter how big an appetite you've got. The food taste and quality itself was... fine? Tasted like something you'd make at home, but like *your* home - not Ina Garten's. The service was quite good though - despite a very full house and lots of big tables, food came out very quickly and the servers were very attentive. On the Quality vs Quantity see-saw, this one lands firmly on Quantity - the polar opposite to the new Artusi Italian place on 6th St in New Westminster. But if massive, MASSIVE bowls of not-bad pasta are your jam, this is your spot.
We were so disappointed. Gathered with friends for 6:15 reservation Saturday and we did not get food at our table still at 7:30pm. One person in our party cancelled her order and left(they had not started it yet). I think we all got served large portions when we ordered small. We ate for two minutes slid it into take out and paid and left. Some missed the beginning of the play, curtain was at 8!
Pasta is okay, I found it to be very overpriced. There are better pasta places in the area with a wider selection dishes offered
average flavour, large portions. cheaper to order directly vs skip the dishes. very friendly service.
The food was sub par at best. I asked if the Alfredo and Cream sauces were the same the waitress said "yes." They are not of course. I talked to the manager on duty she was very rude to me so I went to further ask about my meal and the manager was screaming at one of the waitresses. The cook came out was terribly rude and swore at me. Just a terrible experience and restaurant. The staff are poorly trained if at all and apparently it is common place to mistreat and berate your clientele. If the owner would like to contact me I would love to speak with her or him:)
Loved the lasagna!! It’s a great place & I’m definitely coming back!
This. Was. Bizarre. My girlfriend was “allowed” to pick the restaurant on our last day in Vancouver and appropriately searched for the closest one to our hotel. She found two, but which cuisine, Italian or Greek. Which restaurant, Amorosa or Santali? Turns out, it didn’t matter—they’re the same restaurant. And I don’t mean they’re spiritually the same because of shared owners or have matching decors or similar menus. They are literally the same restaurant. Different signs, different entrances, hell even different addresses, all leading to the same building, like budget saving on a movie set. Zomato lists an Amorosa Santali house AND a Santali Souvlaki House. They combined the names on one entry but forgot to delete the other. I thought this was a joke, like if I pass through the Amorosa door, do they hand me the Italian menu, and the reverse if I enter through the Santali door. Do the accents of the server’s change? Nope, doesn’t matter; they plant you down anywhere and hand you both menus. Why don’t they go for broke, list six different restaurants outside, and turn it all into a food court? Alternatively, maybe just put up a curtain or something. I felt like this was a scene in a sitcom—Jerry Seinfeld must have gotten a few zingers out of this one. I would love it if someone got enraged at the service, stormed out of the restaurant, promising to seek competition, and then re-entered next door back into the same establishment. The idea is funny just thinking about it. So, after an unnecessary 260 words later, we’ve established Amorosa and Santali are one in the same, meaning the chefs on staff now must commit double duty preparing twice the variety of dishes (and you have to know there are fewer chefs on staff now than when the restaurants were separate). It would be expected that food quality would be compromised as result. And you’d be right. It was an afternoon when we arrived, the only patrons in both restaurants. Since we had previously decided on Italian (my girlfriend select Amorosa), we passed through the appropriate doors and asked for the corresponding menu. On it revealed the customary options seen in every clichéd (see boring) Italian restaurant…as well as every Boston Pizza. One page of the menu is reserved for appetizers, soups, and salads, and the second is all pasta—where you can either pick a premade plate or match a pasta with a sauce and topping. Given that, this one page boasted…running the numbers, 20 + (10 x 5 x [12 x2])…1220 different combinations. (Wait, is that right?) We both ordered tomato with Italian sausage but with different pastas, her’s rotini while mine gnocchi. The plates arrived quickly, assuring that nothing was made to order. They were also enormous, carrying enough sustenance for that afternoon and for the next meal. Well, I say the next, but in truth, it kept so well in take-away, we were able to enjoy the leftovers a half-week later. I pride myself having a voracious appetite, and even I admit being unable to clean my plate. This was a full pound of starch, not including the fringed garlic bread the size of my forearm. It became clear early on they are supplanting quality with quantity, which, if you follow that formula must mean the food was substandard. I rated it on par if not maybe slightly below Boston Pizza, which I know sounds harsh. The gnocchi was clearly pulled from a factory-processed bag and the parmesan shakers were identical to those found at the aforementioned chain (and I do mean identical). It wasn’t bad, and a $13 price tag for a plate that immense was astounding. There were no Boston Pizzas nearby, so if stuck in the area, I imagine you could do a lot worse. It’s not an ugly restaurant either—at least it’s not covered floor to ceiling in shades of brown. Just…yellow. The Amoroso half looks better than the Santali half, bringing up the observation discovered later that we had been seated on the wrong half.
The service is always pleasant and the food is amazing. We always come here for family dinners and not once have we had a bad experience. I've tried several pasta dishes and the food is consistent everytime. I always order a large portion and take the food home.
Driven by here for years. Always heard good things. Finally got to experience the pasta! It's a quaint place, very basic tables and decor but don't let that fool you. With the help of our knowledgeable server William, we selected an appetizer and two main entrees as well as a half litre of red wine. We liked the options of picking your choice of noodles and sauce. I had tortellini in smoked salmon and shrimp with a double layer of sauce (tomato on the bottom with a second layer of a white cream sauce). Delicious! Large portion and very hot. Half came home. My better half had a beautiful large portion of chicken parm with a healthy dose of pesto linguini. Very tasty! Thank you William. Busy street with limited parking. Covid protocols in place. I would definitely return. Grazie!
Pasta is very good. Its a nice casual place. Service can sometimes be spotty, but have never been disappointed in the food.
Great food.
If you like Pasta you'll Luv Amorosa Pasta House! Amazing food and selection????????
Nice pasta shop. Liked the taste and texture.
It's fine if you like Spaghetti Factory. I dislike Spaghetti Factory. For a place that is supposed to be a bit fancier the food was pretty bland. While I couldn't even finish my meal, it was so large despite being a half order, I didn't even bother taking home the leftovers. I knew I wouldn't eat it. One of the least flavorful restaurants I have ever been to.
Good for a cheap bite
so so
Best pasta place found so far in Vancouver :)
good food
My friend and I went there after reconnecting from high school. Where did 40 years go? Our server was Dennis. A bright and articulate server who was very attentive to us and some of our childhood stories. I had spaghetti and meatballs and my friend had shrimp with pesto and cream sauce. Both meals were very large with enough for another meal tomorrow. Thank you Dennis for your kind attention. I seldom write reviews these days but felt a word of praise for a job well done for the service was absolutely in order! Our new "go to" place.
(Translated) Very well! (Original) Molto bene!
Decent Italian restaurant. The receipt had a really funny message at the bottom, it was quite circular terms.
Really good food. Will come again.
a nice place for pasta
Great prices and amazing food
Favourite pasta place, endless combinations with fresh pasta!
The food is always very good. The lamb kleftiko is superb & served in extremely generous portions. Not always possible to finish. John the owner / chef always produces , tasty, fresh food. Kelly ( server) is always gracious as all the staff. Great food, just be careful to avoid over stuffing yourself on the delicious meal. No shame in having to take home leftovers.
Nice pasta selection
The service was great, our server was polite, attentive and friendly. I ordered number 28 and was so excited to eat it. Unfortunately, as I started my meal I noticed a hair entwined in the pasta and partially sticking up. Our server was notified, she apologized and offered something else off the menu or remake. I opted for a remake but by the time it came back I was not hungry anymore. Got it packed up to go!
A little hidden gem in New Westminster. My wife and I always get the seafood canneloni. You'll love it
very good.a lovely restaurant
Always good food , large servings and fast friendly service. Good value as well .
The pasta dishes were rather like noodle soup.
Wow! The portions were huge, I couldn't eat even half of the large, but if you're aiming for value, get the large anyways (for 5$ more) and carry it out (bring some tupperware to avoid take-out packaging), the server even asked me strategically if the iced tea was "bottomless" just in case I didn't want "bottomless" for my kids...very smart, very attentive and joked around with the kids when they made their own interactions - nothing overbearing or excessive. Thank you so much!!!
Best kept secret (pasta joint) in east Burnaby. They have the best value for the quality and portion size of the pasta dish, and the make your own pasta option gives you the freedom to have them cook what you want to eat. Their pasta is very thick and al dente, the sauce is flavorful and the ingredients bountiful. The service is quite friendly as well. Makes for an enjoyable experience.
Love pasta option they have! Service was really good. We were really satisfied with food at nominal price!
It was my first visit and I have nothing bad to say about the place. I will visit again for sure.
It is a very family oriented place. Lasagna was great!
Good food, reasonable prices and the atmosphere is really nice: table talk more likely in the quiet, homey surroundings.
Great service but tasteless food, wouldn't recommend it to friends.
Service was very friendly! Food was tasty and plentiful for what you spend
Very friendly people and very nice place
I went there for a Christmas party a couple of years ago and I had a pasta with shrimp. A couple of hours after I got home a became violently ill. Over the course of the night I threw up twelve times. The next day I couldn't get up off of the couch. The absolute worst case of food poisoning I could ever imagine.
Creola is the best
Enormous selection of pasta and big portions
Great place to hang out with someone This is a place with delicious food too
Food quality about the same as a food court, would not recommend it.
Good for any type of pasta that you might want. Lasagna was alright.
I came to Amorosa because I heard good things from family and friends and the reviews from other patrons were good. BIG MISTAKE. I ordered the lasagna and it was the worst I ever had. What came was a slop of meat sauce on lasagna noodles in a big pile on the plate. There were no layers or vegetables like a real lasagna should have. I would have done better making my own lasagna at home. The service was horrendous. The restaurant was not full but the staff took forever just to give us water and a basket of bread. When we asked if we could order, the server said she had to take the order of the other table because they got there first which delayed our meals even further. When we asked questions about the food, the server gave us inaccurate information so we ended up not liking our choices. When we asked to speak with the manager, she was incredibly rude and condescending. She blamed us for our food choices. I would have to say this was the rudest service I've ever experienced in any restaurant culminating in the cook coming out of the kitchen and swearing twice at my husband for wanting his meal re-made up to standards. Somebody needs to call Mystery Diners. The cook, manager and server should all be fired. DO NOT EAT HERE.
We had a good time and an easy meal. Staff was friendly and portions were good. We'll be back.
Good food and large portions
Awesome pasta place best in all lower mainland
great service good food
great service, fantastic food, huge portions.
Great food atmosphere and people
Just got an order of pasta with meat sauce. Very disappointed no flavor at all very disappointed
Really tasty lasagna and huge portions! Would definitely recommend. Very friendly service and clean.
Best pasta but getting expensive. Some extra charges for things that should be free (oil to dip bread in ...)
Fresh pasta, great ambiance and service
Food was terrible. My grilled chicken was very hard and dry. My wife's seafood pasta looked more like a soup which tasted and smelled terrible. Despite being very hungry, none of us finished our food.
Great food. Large servings. They are on our regular rotation because they have something for everyone. Even the two that don't eat pasta!
My family and I have been coming to this neighborhood gem. Over the years it was always jam packed. Until they extended the restaurant to next door--left side was Italian and the right side was Greek. They converted the Greek side to be both restaurants, while the smaller side on the left is now a Japanese restaurant. The prices have gone up ranging between $1 to $4. So, a large pasta dish, was $16 is now $20. There prices was always on the low end for many years...times are different nowadays! We have always enjoyed the Hot Chicken Caesar Salad. Go for the large, as the small size is small for two people to share! We did asked if no pepper be added to the salad, as our 5-year old daughter doesn't like spicy food. They got it wrong, and it seem the salad was extra spicy! I ordered the Baked Lasagna and I had mondo leftovers. My wife had the Tetrazzine with Spinach Linguine. Both dishes were great. This review would have been a '5' except for the soup we ordered for our 2 year old who loves soup. We got her the Tortellini Brodo. For some strange reason, she didn't eat it. She ate my wife's pasta instead. We didn't touch the soup until at the end. We ate the tortellini, but that tasted funky. Then we took a sip of the soup. It was sour, sour, sour! What?! We asked the waiter if that was supposed to be like that. Our waiter came back and said it wasn't, and wasn't going to charge us. The chef/owner came out to apologize. Kudos for that. What got us, is when the chef/owner said he doesn't make the broth and he gets it from a plastic tub. Great, we thought. He said the chicken broth would normally froth if bad. (I asked my mother-in-law, who used to cook for living, says, you can tell if the soup is bad just by smelling it. Or if its cloudy). But, the worst thing he said was, he doesn't taste the soup! What? You don't taste your food?!? The restaurant was not busy at all. We were only 2 tables in there, quite possibly, they were doing more take out orders. Nevertheless, I thought chefs/cooks taste their food before sending it out! We didn't know it was sour. But our 2-year daughter knew something was not right. On that Sunday evening, eating at this restaurant really left us on a 'sour' note. Although the chef/owner did come out to apologize about the sour aka old soup; they got the order wrong for the hot chicken Caesar salad by doubling the black pepper...too be honest with you, it may be awhile before we return.
Good pasta which you can customize sauces and toppings. I had gnocchi with a creamy tomato sauce plus meatball, mushrooms and zucchini. Really delicious and big portions! Dennis was our friendly attentative server. He made the whole dining experience even more special. We definitely recommend this restaurant!
Great service, delicious food and perfect atmosphere!!
Really awesome food that's worth the price. They come in large servings, too. Really great service as well. Will definitely come back.
Large portion food with inexpensive price. Tastes alright too.
Large portions on their pasta for a great price. Serves Italian and Greek classics. Nice casual atmosphere with friendly staff. I would come again !
Service experience improved than before for delivery drivers than before. Almost no wait time for picking up the foods for delivery drivers. Thanks to management and all staff for taking care of the issue. Good job.
Great place for Italian food!
(Translated) The restaurant is in a very inconspicuous corner. I haven't been there for more than 20 years. The restaurant is not big, but the food is amazing, I should visit again soon. (Original) 餐廳是在一個非常不起眼的角落,在那附近住了超過廿年都沒去過。 餐廳不大,不過餐點讓人驚艷,不久應該會再度光顧。
We had the Calamari and the hot chicken ceasar salad. Best meal eating out in a long time. Hot and fresh. I would reccomend this restaurant.
Our first time visiting and we were pleasantly surprised. Excellent pasta with great service. Tables were well spaced for COVID safety and the prices of dishes were easily affordable. They seem to do a brisk take out business but the in house dining is what we will continue to experience.
(Translated) Great little nabourhood place for pasta. (Original) Great little nabourhood place for pasta.
Excellent!
This place has been around forever. Feels fancier than it really is. Food is average good.
Small and nice.
Servings are big and I love the carbonara.
My husband and I came for the first time and for sure will be coming back soon! Food is great and awesome customer service. We were helped by Denis and was nothing short of amazing!
Cute and quaint interior, nice art and friendly staff. Food was medicore at best (came at a friend's recommendation) and ordered a Caprese Salad but.lster realized it never came and we had waited for our bill for so long that we when we got it, we just quickly paid and left so not sure if we were charged for it
Service was quick and friendly food was great
This place has the most amazing and potentially the best garlic prawns and calamari ever. They serve both Greek and Italian food. The friend I went with recommended focusing on the Greek food only. Service was also good. We were lucky to get a decent table close to the window and our server was both friendly and knowledgeable. He made us feel welcome and comfortable.
Our favourite neighbourhood pasta place. Daily specials at a good price.
Food was mediocre. Service was very bad-being ridiculed for what we didn't order or listening to snide comments about why we didn't order something was not pleasant. Even if the male waiter was trying to be humourous, it wasn't and turned out to be quite offensive. Will not be returning. Thanks.
Always love visiting Amorosa Pasta House. Haven’t come in and sat down, but since the Pandemic started, I found this spot and I probably order out from here once a week. Great prices, amazing food, and the staff are always friendly when I come to visit. Excellent service, I’d recommend eating here ????
This place is great.food is great portion's are good for what you pay.
Great food n service
Pretty sure they bleach their chicken. It tastes funky
Wholesome food at reasonable prices.
As far as pasta places go, this is one of the better ones. Everything is made from scratch besides a few items. Recommendation: -Kleftiko (Braised Lamb Shoulder)
Food is always good here. Not the best but its good. Portion size is massive. Great and friendly staff
Amorosa Pasta House is a long-standing fixture in the Edmond’s area of Burnaby. I believe they used to previously operate an adjoining Greek restaurant called Santali House next door (currently occupied by Sushi Modo) but have since rolled up their Greek menu items into their menu at Amorosa. I haven’t been here in years (probably 8+ years) but dropped by in early April with some co-workers and ordered the Linguine Tetrazzini. Interestingly enough, Tetrazzini is actually an American dish that was named after opera singer Luisa Tetrazzini so it’s more of an Italian-inspired dish with many different interpretations. Amorosa’s version is quite creamy with garlic, onions, chicken, spinach, and mushrooms. The pasta reminds me very much like Anton’s on Hastings.
This restaurant in the Bunaby area more than 20 years of practical reasons. The food delicious, waiters friendly, comfortably and reasonable priced. Highly recommended.
Menu says, generous amount of squid, but the serving was so little, rice was like fried rice, Greek salad was watery, Ceasars salad was swimming in dressing. Shrimp salad - Ceasars salad at the bottom then covered it with warm stir fried vegetables. Cold salad should be separated. The server was a little pushy and rushed.
I was really impressed as the portion and quality of the pasta was teriffic. I'm definitely going back for more!
Always enjoyable. Great value. Must try.
this is one of our 'Go To...' restaurants. the house salad is a delicious blend of tomatoes, lettuce, onion, green peppers, feta, and olives (ask staff to bring the bread With the salad...). the menu is a beautiful selection of pastas and sauces, and they will personalize to your taste. the tiramisu is made there and deserves Respect. These people know how to create a Great Italian Experience! ... and yes, the service is Very Good!
Ordered pasta yesterday. ..was told 3 times that can't double up the meatballs. A large dish came with only 2 meatballs and not enough sauce. Called to complain and then was told that we could double up meatballs. Now have a credit for 2 meatballs which sounds so ridiculous. The pasta tasted very generic. Don't recommend it to go and waste your????.
Great lil gem! Prices went up but still worth it.
Good Pasta. Neighborhood friendly service
My favourite pasta place in a bit of a hard to find location. Great deals for your Birthday which is my favourite time to go.
Delicious food. Great service.
Family has been going there for years, sadly they don't carry gluten free pasta anymore and didn't have much to offer in place of. Super friendly staff
Big portion, good food.
Delicious pastas and caesar salad!
Really lovely hidden gem! They make all their sauces and dressings in-house and you can taste the difference: I wanted to lick the plate clean after the Ceasar salad! The portions of pasta were HUGE. The staff were very nice; the chef came out to chat with us and made a balloon animal for my daughter! So sweet. And the atmosphere is lovely: very cozy and elegant...with paintings of Mediterranean scenes everywhere. It was a really lovely escape. It was a bit pricey to have regularly but a keeper for nice occasions.
I enjoyed the club sandwich for lunch. Friendly staff good food and clean dining room. It was also busy for lunch which is a very good sign.
Lots of pasta options, huge portions!
Friendly service and excellent food
Huge portions, fresh pasta and friendly customer service!
Taste like homemade. Options to pair pasta, sauces, and meat. Staff are very helpful with recommendations and wine pairing.
The small portion is lots for most appetites.
The food never disappoints. The location is a bit inconvenient and parking is dark and dingy. But food per se - it is amazing.
Another choose beside Anton's Pasta , very good big dishes.
Large portions of food but not that flavorful. The front staff seemed quite inexperienced. Friendly but kept "forgetting" things like water, menus, bread, wine....
Love it! I went with my wife and we ordered a large curry pasta with shrimp and a calamari appetizer. The curry pasta had a nice peppery-butter taste and the portion was huge. The service from the front staff was good. Definitely a good place to go for pasta.
The pasta was good and cheap. What more can you ask for?
I found it tasty, bf thinks it's alright. A little expensive for pasta but service is good.
The food here was very MEH. Not sure why it got good reviews, maybe if you have a bland palette you’ll enjoy their food. But if you’ve had authentic pasta with flavours and seasonings the food here is just unacceptable. Also why would I need to pay an additional $4 just to add protein to my fettuccine Alfredo order?? I’ve never gone to a restaurant where they made you pay extra to add protein to a pasta that should already come with it. Even their Caesar salad lacked flavour. Don’t recommend this place at all, waste of money.
Always great food, nice sized portions, friendly service, nice atmosphere!
It was very much a Greek restaurant serving Greek and Italian fare. Was it great... No. Was it ok. Definitely.
Been going here for years! Always good food!
Great food huge portions
Always like the pasta here
Super friendly but awful food and has nothing to do with being Italian.
Pasta is decent when they get your order right but overall they are very unorganized.
Food was bland and runny plus gave my husband the runs Hubby sick all night Over priced mediocre food with no flavour ended up in garbage Also salad was soggy runny and over dressed with watery dressing Home made they say no flavour and over priced it was a good zero out of ten
My order got cancelled with no explanation through DoorDash after 30 minutes waiting (Order has been confirmed by the restaurant). Wasted 30 minutes of lunch break just to wait for the food but never got it.
Amazing food. Any time I'm grabbing lunch in Burnaby I try and go here.
Food was ok but I ordered pasta and cheesecake to be delivered. The cheesecake was put on top of the pasta for delivery and by the time I got it, it was a soupy mess. $7.00 dessert in the trash!
Good prices. Good food. Waiters we had were hilarious. Made it all the more enjoyable
Awesome pastas at fantastic prices!
(Translated) They are kind and have a lot of sheep. (Original) 친절하고 양이 어마어마하게 많아요.
Super cute little pasta house. Delicious food and great portions. Excellent customer service. Would definitely recommend.
Terrible! Pasta had absolutely no flavor at all.
Dinner
Delicious
I've loved this place for years! When I want that special evening with a special someone I bring them here! The food is fantastic!!!
We had the rack of lamb and a couple different pasta dishes and they were all good. We will not come back until winter though as there is no AC and it was boiling hot inside...
The food is always so tasty with good sized portions
Great pasta at great prices. Must try. Shared with Greek for additional choices.
Good food but expensive
The salads and pastas were very good. The service was also good
Good food and staff
Huge portions. Ordering a large is probably enough for two meals. Food is good, but not amazing.
Good food plus good service!
I thought they do have pasta special in lunch hours. Kind of disappointed.
Good quality, good service, good food. I will give it 6 stars if I can. And trust me, I NEVER will go out of my way to write a review.
Nice size portions and good value. They make their own tomato sauce and has decent flavour. I had the Beef Bolognese with Spinach Linguine and we shared the Tiramisu for dessert. The tiramisu tasted okay as well. Service was excellent and there is parking at the back of the restaurant. You can access the restaurant only from the front entrance, however you are permitted to exit from the backside.
Yum is all I have to say.. .. small is like a large
My favorite pasta joint! Excellent servers, and yummy pasta.
Excellent service and generous portion sizes!
Pick up our usual and loved it. We live the spinach salad as well. Been customers for years. Best place in town.
Such a great and friendly place to grab a bite to eat staff super nice and portions a huge
We ordered lasagna and a double layer sauce pasta. Large portion is double the size for only 5$ difference. Pasta was great and all but no white sauce on lasagna left us puzzled.
The waiter spilled lemon tea on my jacket and he didnt even say anything ????????????
My family ( me, my wife and two little boys) were forced to order more then one single large pasta, just because the amount of money was too little ???? this is not respectful with customers, no matter what is the average consumption in my opinion your family deserve and have the right to eat a little less. So don't go to this miserable place, they are more focused in the money than the customer experience ????
Great food priced Right . Friendly staff efficient service.. a small local business that's been running for over 26 years.
This is the place we have been to for so many occasions. It is nice and quiet. Good service and good food. Recommend the kleftiko.
Very good customer service
Upon entering the aroma starts one salivating, it's difficult to choose what to order as EVERYTHING is a "Culinary Orgasm". The prices are reasonable, portions are ginormous and they make a mean Shirley Temple...you may have to wait for a table but it's well worth it. Bon appetit ????
Great food and value at this local eatery.
One star ONLY for the food we ordered (when we finally got it). I liked the big fettuccine. BUT...Zero stars for service and customer concern. My gf and I ordered a bottle of wine and a large bottle of mineral water. Since it took so long for our server to come to our table after being seated we already scanned the menus and ordered our meals at the same time as the drinks. I'm assuming our server was named Leo because that's what I read on the bill at the end. When Leo brought the wine he clumsily put the glasses on the table. Then waved the bottle back and forth in our faces showing us that clearly he'd seen this done on tv or somewhere. Unscrews the cap and fills both our glasses. Caps the bottle and almost slams it on the table like he has zero depth perception. There was no offer to smell, sip, and approve the wine. After some bread and a couple glasses of wine a different server puts a plate of pasta down in front of my gf. Close to ten minutes later my meal came. No apology for the wait. Just an offer for fresh cracked pepper. After a few bites I'd realized that this was not what I had ordered. In fact, was eating my gf's meal and she was eating someone else's. We had waited so long she had kind of forgotten what she'd ordered and was fine with what was in front of her at that point. I requested that they bring out what I had ordered. I asked to speak to a manager. No one appeared. 15 minutes later my food came. By this time I'd pretty much lost my appetite. I had one bite. My gf was done and wanted to take the rest of her food to go. Leo walked over to our table and asked how everything was. I told him to wrap our food to go and requested a manager again. No manager showed up at our table this time either. But Leo came back at told us they are making my gf a small order of what she originally ordered for free. Really? She just ate a mystery plate of pasta! Why would she want a take out meal on top of it? It'll be a big brick of pasta in an hour. We got tired of waiting for a manager to speak with. My gf's meal should have been comped not replaced after she had eaten. I went to the bar to pay the bill. I paid for our food and gave zero tip. Leo said "I'm sorry. I take full responsibility..." What? Now you're apologizing?? Too late pal. I said "Terrible service" and left. It's a shame. It's only s few blocks away from home and like I said, we liked our food.
Best salad ever
This place has been around for 29 yrs same owners. It was my first time in and one of the owners was doing all the serving ..really nice owners and the pasta portions were great ..I had small portion and still took some home ..will be back to try the greek food they offer next ????????
The worst service I've ever had. That would have been ok other then the hair in the pasta
Friendly service and large portions of Greek and Italian food. The mushrooms tasted a little off when I ate there but the seafood and pasta in the rest of the dish was great.
Taste great
The food is great & awesome service
Always enjoyed the pasta here, great place!
The crappiest pasta I ever had in my life. It tasted like a Chinese e noodle with cream sauce that has absolutely no flavour at all. my friend and I were very disappointed, but the service was good. He was super funny and kind. Just needs to tone it down a little though lol it was also freezing inside. No heat at all. We had to wear our jackets to eat. Never going back again.
Solid local establishment. 20+ yrs in biz means you're doing something right. Lasagna is the best, and good value at $21 for a large, that feeds 3 to 4 ppl.
Pasta was overdone and flavorless. The server didn't pay very much attention to our table at all. Plus the restaurant was stifling hot. Prices are good though.
Good menu selection of different pasta dishes and variety of Greek dishes. The Greek food were quite tasty but the pasta dishes we're a bit bland. Service was ok. Prices are higher than average.
Big portions but the food was tasteless. I had to add my own seasonings to make it edible.
I have been dining at Amorosa’s for the past 10 years and love the generous portions and prices! Very clean restaurant and many choices on the menu. Excellent for family dining, gathering with friends, ALSO, you are bound to have left overs (what a win win situation)!! Definitely recommend the lasagna and the hot chicken Caesar salad.
DO NOT GET THE LASAGNA... Its more like a soup with all the sauce on it. It was soggy and you couldn't distinguish any layers. The waitress herself said that they are pre-made and they just add sauce on top. It was a disgrace to Lazagna.
Absolutely amazing pasta house. Highly recommended!
Im glad I found this place, portions are amazing and atmosphere is lovely. The staff here are also amazing.
Food is alright..
Asked for grilled chicken with pasta and received maybe 2 Tbsp of finely diced chicken. Very strange. All else was good
Nice staters, great portions for the small main course. Nice service but overall the food was plain.
Good!
Way too much dressing on the house salad so order it on the side. Rice and Lamb we really good.
(Translated) Good taste! ! (Original) 好味!!
Im not bothered by it.
Tasty and big portions! Not too rich or salty. Too bad we couldn’t dine in due to restrictions. Will come back! I wish they could make better tiramisu though...
Wrost service ever ... wasn't offer complimentary bread as other table were went for the rack of lambs coming from Langley but they were sold out. The pasta tasted like is been soak in water for several hours and sauce was just pour on top
(Translated) Lamb shoulder set meal with high CP value,,,, but chicken salad,,,, seems to be smaller,,, the bread is delicious,,,, while hot,,, (Original) 羊肩套餐CP值高,,,,但雞肉沙拉,,,,好像變小了,,,麵包不錯吃,,,趁熱,,,
Good service, tasty food and good value
Bad food. This place should turn down.
Think quantity over quality. Sure, you get a whole smack of pasta, but even if you ordered something with chicken in it, expect to not see much of the chicken. The wait staff is professional in speech but not in manner and my waiter constantly slammed glasses down on the table. You can skip everything, but the garlic bread (more of a toast really) is delicious.
Great pasta and Greek food
Cozy with big portions. I rate the pasta as pretty average... not bad but not great. Staff are young and friendly, but sometimes a bit inattentive.
Delicious meals, loved the lasagna from here and the service. Definitely a great place to come back.
Big portions.
I luv this place and frequently eat here. Great prices, portions, dollar value. Fantastic flavorful food. Highly recommended to go. Is a very busy place reservations recommended especially on the weekends.
Good food. Great flavors. We ordered for the first time and really enjoyed the whole meal.
Dine in
Very generous portions and delicious and to top it all off great value .
I really didn't like the food, the beef souvlaki was covered in fat and there were 2 peices that were big fat chunks instead of meat. the chicken was edible and so was the rice but the portion of meat was small, the "salad" was crappy and for me not edible didnt come with dressing. the potatoes werent the greatest and under seasoned. We wont be going back especially for $16 a plate for a 5$a plate meal.
For anyone that cooks with salt the reviews are extremely misleading. My wife ordered Fettuccine alfredo for $16 which is on the popular choices menu and it comes with no meat! It's $4 to add meat and the sauce has less flavor than premade four cheese sauce from save on foods. I ordered creola which comes with 3 meats but there's about a 10:1 ratio of pasta : sauce and meat. My pasta can be salvaged by throwing out 3/4 of the pasta and adding some seasoning. Plenty of other options to find good pasta, I will not be eating here again.
Good service and great food. If you have never had the Hot chicken ceaser salad its delicious, the curry prawns with bell peppers and o onions is also tastey.
Great pasta and greek food, always fresh, tasty and hot! Love the service; staff are very nice.
Dirty. The female server was oddly persistent not allowing time to look at the menu. Food was bland. Good portion size, enough for left overs to take home. Unfortunately, we threw them out on our way out because we noticed a dead baby mouse on the floor at the table behind us. We will never go back.
Great food! Family friendly! Staff are all great!
Great food and great service.
Had the #9 with spinach linguine. It was good and the service was good as well. Had tiramisu for dessert. Nice, quiet atmosphere.
Been coming for 20 years. Love #28
Food is alright. Service is decent. Parking is poor. Hard to find parking at front. When parked in the back of house, they do not have or allow any entrance. I would rather choose any other pasta place with a better parking area. Maybe it is good for walking distance.
Price was fare, not so salty as other place
Good place for good pasta you should come, parking around back
Love the Italian sausage with penne. Get it every time. And the fresh bread
Good place, but I've only been once. Paired my order with a light red and it passed the taste test with flying colors. Interesting how a couple of recent critics who have given this place a 1/5 only write negative reviews of this place and other places they've been to. This place is fine. Ok ok, it's not Pagliaccis in Victoria, but it's worth a shot. Service is friendly if you are.
I had great dinner ! Super delicious salad and pasta ????
Nice servers and amazing food.
Great food. Great service. Large portions of food.
Great food ! I been going there for the passed 25 year same chef/owner ! Keep it up
Great food. Been coming here for a long time. Service is good too. Only thing I don't like is for a Greek and pasta place they don't offer fresh grated cheese with your dish but rather parmesan you get from a container.
Great food and great service.
Best ghnocci in town! Homemade!! Mmmm
Great food, great service.
Ordered the Alfredo for take out and it was not good at all. To add chicken it was an additional $4! There was barely any chicken and the pieces I did find tasted so bland and awful couldn't have another bite. The pasta sauce was overseasoned with nutmeg, thats all I can taste and the noodles were chewy and overcooked. I'm sure they must have other good options on their menu but the Alfredo is not it.. definitely not coming back. Which is unfortunate since there isn't alot of pasta joints in South Burnaby.
Have been eating here for years but sadly I live farther away than I like now so I've been ordering on doordash. The pasta here is delicious and the portions huge! I miss dining in as the staff are also wonderful. I got a chuckle today with my doordash order arrival. I watched on the app wondering why my driver hadn't made his way to the restaurant and lamented my pasta was going to be late. As you can see from my receipt, the staff at Amorosa were not pleased with him either lol.
Large portions, great tasting pasta, and fair prices!
Good pasta, reasonable prices
Nice little restaurant. Great service. Food is quite good & great prices. Glad we popped-in!
ginormous portion and properly done pasta service is also excellent even when it's busy, one of my favorite Italian restaurants
Great food! Copious amounts!
Roast lamb is always delicious & generous portions.
Nice place for Italian (and Greek). The portions were big. If you get the large size, it's a big meal for anyone to polish off. The table bread that they give you feels like it's baked in house, very soft. The staff were friendly. Was it the best pasta out there? not really. Tasted a bit garlic heavy. was it better than other Italian places around Burnaby, yeah, I'd say that. Anton's in the Heights is extremely overrated, tastes alright but i hate lining up for food. The Trattoria near Kingsway and Willingdon tastes better than here (albeit more expensive as well), but there's a lot more value at Amarosa and if you're from Edmonds area, it only makes sense to come here instead of trekking it to Trattoria / Anton's. Defintely would come again though
A great little neighbourhood pasta house. The service great, the food better. A generous serving of pasta at very fair prices. Not that much more than Spaghetti Factory but way better. I light the sauces as they feel very rich but not heavy. Another bonus is the very reasonable drinks menu. From pop to wine, enjoy one for less than almost any other restaurant.
Maybe have the correct hours.
Good quality. Busy - we went there for Valentines day maybe that is why. Will give them another chance. Felt the service could have been better.
Good service
Great food
Good food, generous portions and well priced.
Love the lasagna here. So delicious. Good service, easy pick up orders.
Best Calamari in the lower mainland!
