It was just comically bad. The only reason I'm giving one star instead of none is because (a) there is no lower rating possible; (b) it provided myself and my party with hours of laughter because the food was beyond reprehensible. It pains me to see that their rating is a 4.1. I'm not exaggerating when I say that the muscles had a "phallic-like" taste to them and an incredibly peculiar stench. Three out of the four brave souls that dared to try them had stomach problems for at least four days after. The actual meals tasted like they were three days old. The chicken cutlet that I ate had the same consistency (and smell) as the sole of an old shoe. On top of all this, even the coffee was awful. How can you mess up coffee? I know it seems like an absurd piece of criticism, but the coffee tasted like cigarettes. We were seated a booth that was not suited for the size of our party, and so we had to pull up an extra chair and sit awkwardly at the end of the table. Here's the kicker: the restaurant was dead and we easily could have sat somewhere else, but we were not offered that. I just want to add that we ate there a few years prior and it was fantastic. What happened? I never provide feedback to restaurants, even if the experience is lackluster. However, I feel that it is my due diligence in this case because it was (and I'm not exaggerating) THE worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Please, do an overhaul and fix this. Don't worry about responding to this comment because I won't be back. Just do right by everyone else.

Great atmosphere, nicely decorated in an intimate setting. We started with calamari which was to perfection and tender. Paired with a New Zealand sauvigon blanc that teased the taste buds. The second course of an antipasto board was house made items. Paired with a peppery pint nor. Delicious. The third course for me was beef short rib paired with Shiraz. My date enjoyed crab ravioli paired with a rising. You must come with an appetite and an eye for pleasing food. Can not wait for dessert.

An amazing experience, food is world class, staff were fantastic, second time we’ve been here, and it’s a definite regular stop for future. Paradisso takes Covid-19 precautions seriously, and the facilities are great as well. Fun, professional, attentive, and the food quality is high calibre to eat and look at as well.

We had visited the Paradiso Oakville location several years ago but were trying the Burlington location for the first time. We discovered that of the several restaurants we tried, Paradiso is one that accepts requests for patio bookings)! The team promptly confirmed our booking and followed up with a gentle reminder one day before our luncheon reservation on Monday, as requested. Their staff was very friendly and helpful. Our meal was great and the house wine (a Malbec, quite delightful). I am taking away a star because the Red Sangria I ordered was not up to par at all. Hopefully, it will be better next time, for we certainly intend to visit them again for their ambiance, good food and attention to satisfy their customers. Thanks!

Had a great night for a friends birthday there tonight. Shared crab cakes and calamari for starters. My main was crab ravioli, my husband had the Moroccan chicken, we also ordered the salmon, pizza, and burger. And ordered the creme brulee trio for dessert. Would definitely recommend. We had a reservation, but people were even out on the patio tonight. Great night!

They were totally booked for Valentine's night so we took a reservation for dinner Friday night. The dinner was wonderful and we especially liked the Spanish music played by two wandering guitar players. Certainly hope they become regular entertainment there! They created a romantic background that silence couldn't have accomplished! Only odd thing was our menu choice included surf, and that only meant one jumbo shrimp. Nice plate display, but really? Only one at those prices?

Highly recommend! Surprisingly, the restaurant is quite spacious (as it looks smaller from the outside). The staff are pleasant, polite, and welcoming. The food is delicious! Went for dinner last night and had their burger. Best burger of my life.... to quote Marshall from Himym "Just a Burger? Just a burger. Robin, it's so much more than "just a burger." I mean... that first bite-oh, what heaven that first bite is.... This is no mere sandwich of grilled meat and toasted bread, Robin. This is God, speaking to us in food." We did not have a great dinner here. Paid $300 for 4 people to have a below average dinner. The crab ravioli was bland and unremarkable. The crab cakes barely tasted of crab and were drowned in sauce. The ribs were tasteless and not worth $30. The calamari was fine. Our waiter was kind, but smelled heavily of smoke. Overall, not worth the overpriced menu.

We chose this restaurant simply because everything else was closed and we entered with low expectations. However, once we received the food, we were simply blown away. This is, by far, the best restaurant I’ve been to in Burlington. The food is fine-dining, and Moroccan Chicken that I had was nothing short of impressive. Moroccan food is hard to nail, so I was shocked to see such high quality sitting right beside me. The restaurant is off putting because of its outdated decor, but the food and service are second to none in the area - honestly, it deserves a 10/10.

Lived in Burlington my whole life, had heard lots of good things about Paradiso, but had never made my way down there until recently. The wild boar gnocchi caught my attention on the menu. It's a lot like ham... but good ham. My father-in-law is pig farmer, so I'm lucky enough to get 'real' ham regularly. It reminded me of that, but it was a little different. The dish had mushrooms in it, and I normally avoid dishes with mushrooms, but the rest of the dish intrigued me enough that I decided to give it a try. I didn't mind the mushrooms at all.

Loved our experience here! We ate before Covid shut down most restaurants but we were blown away by the atmosphere and friendliness of the staff. I ordered a Caesar salad and Spaghetti Bolognese for delivery from Skip The Dishes. The salad was mediocre as was the spaghetti which was very bland. Paradiso is usually much better than this. I hope they don't lower their standards for deliveries. Disappointed.... Mandy at Paradiso called me immediately upon reading my review with apologies and an offer. Though I didn't expect this response, it was appreciated and an indication that Paradiso is a class act. I have had many great experiences there and expect to have many more.

I went there with my wife for a nice romantic Valentine's Day dinner (2011). I ended up sick all through the night after being served a medium pork tenderloin at the server's recommendation (I knew I shouldn't have eaten that!). All in all it has a nice ambiance and good presentation of food. My wife called the next day to simply inform them that perhaps they shouldn't be recommending the tenderloin to be cooked "medium", and they were less than appreciative. She was told the manager would return her call but no such call was ever received. Not impressed.

Food was great, flavours amazing and wait time and service was impeccable. One very concerning thing that needs to be addressed is the health and food handling standards. I caught one of the main chefs (white coat) rubbing his fingers in his eye on several occasions. He also cleaned up a little spilled sauce on the counter by wiping it with his fingers and licking it. He proceeded throughout the evening to use these same fingers to pick up cheese and other food. I was horrified and I hope management addresses this ASAP!

Had a great birthday meal here for my dad. Moroccan chicken was ordered and enjoyed by half the table. Calamari appetizer us amazing, and they know how to cook calamari properly. Had a small birthday party for my three year old in their private dining room. As someone whose family hails from the hospitality industry, I can honestly say I was impressed with everything at the Burlington location. The atmosphere was relaxed and charming, the staff equally so. Food was my big concern since I had a few picky eaters in attendance, but everything was so well done. This restaurant takes great care to adhere to COVID guidelines and made their requirements clear throughout the planning and kindly enforced them during the party. I felt safe and genuinely enjoyed myself.

Paridiso Burlington is a local favorite, popular for date nights, with friendly, professional staff providing excellent service. Over the decade or so that we have gone, it has been a consistently excellent establishment. The restaurant features a solid if conservative menu with broad appeal. The 12 hour braised boar gnocchi achieves a level of comfort food that can make you dream of it while at home eating comfort food. Worth a visit .

Update February 2017 Every time I visit this restaurant, there's small changes, and unfortunately for the worse. I LOVED this place. I even had my Rehearsal dinner here. just over a year ago they tweaked their menu and removed some of the more interesting options. My favorite was the 12 hour roasted boar Gnocchi.. and now its beef. It also has become muddled in flavour and every bite is exactly the same. Last night I got the Mac and Cheese. It was basically the same as the Gnocchi - Except with macaroni elbows. VERY underwhelming for a 22 dollar dish. The calamari was overcooked - Burned black at the end, and just two tiny squids. It used to be a much larger portion. My friend got the beet salad to start, and then got a salad with his dinner. They were Identical, but one had a sliced up beet on it, with a slightly different toppings. A 10 dollar salad was the same as the side salad with his meal. Why wouldn't the waitress say anything? His spouse ordered the tomato soup - a $10 dollar bowl of soup. It was advertised with Parmesan cheese. It didn't come with it. When she asked for it, someone came by with the grater and just dumped some in. Not the flakes or chunks, and did nothing to improve her exorbitantly priced tomato soup. The environment is nice, it's recently had a bit of a refresh. The bread is to die for. However my overpriced, small portioned overcooked calamari, the multiple "recycled" dishes with same flavors, and a $10 cup of tomato soup with 5 cents of Parmesan tossed in 5 minutes after it was served - I'm not in any rush to come back. Its sad really, because this is a place where some of the best memories I have originated from. As they continue to raise the prices and lower the quality and portion sizes (and uniqueness of their offerings) I'm left feeling a little sour. Original review: =================== Every time I frequent this place I leave happy, Full, and wanting for nothing. Great service, Great Environment, and great tasting food. Some of their portions are a bit on the small side, but they're plated nicely and do impress!

Great food and service as usual. As we were with a senior using a walker, I was extremely impressed with the "step ramp" they put down to make it easier for her to enter / leave the restaurant. They were consistently being proactive for accessibility, something one rarely sees. They were also kind enough to bring a slice of birthday cake for grandma. All-in-all an exceptional experience.

My wife and I had a lovely date night and enjoyed a meal on the patio at Paradiso in Burlington Village today. They were able to accomodate us without a reservation and the service was very prompt. The focaccia bread with oil and herb, absolutely amazing. The bruschetta was so fresh. I loved the savoury braised beef gnocchi. My wife loved her sweet butternut squash ravioli. Would rate 0 stars if I could. We went to this restaurant based on recommendation from a colleague who is apparently a frequent costumer of this place. The food was nice but a rude waiter managed to leave such a bitter taste in our mouths that we will make sure not to ever go back. This middle age man with gray hair was by far the worst experience I have ever had in my restaurant experience. We could not believe this man's attitude and behavior, specially in this climate when one thinks restaurants should be more appreciative of their costumers who support them during a pandemic. Reading other reviews, I can see that this experience has not been an isolated one and is a pattern. To the owner, rather than thanking me and providing any potential apologies, please talk to your employee. You exactly know who I am referring to. This is not the way to treat people who support your business, specifically now during these difficult times. If this person is not capable of delivering basic costumer service, then perhaps he is not a good fit for this role. A never returning customer

I went there on Friday July 22nd for the taste of Burlington menu and thoroughly enjoyed the food! I had their tomato soup, thyme roasted chicken supreme and the dark chocolate torte and o my goodness that chocolate torte was to die for. Not overly sweet, or too chocolaty, just perfection on a plate. My boyfriend had the greek salad, braised beef mac and cheese and the torte. We didn't not leave disappointed. My only negative comment would be the lack of draught beer, and a small wine selection. I would like to see more local wineries or Canadian wineries on their menu.

Food Poisoning! Don't go near the Paradiso Restaurant in Burlington. We spent $40 on two burgers (so stupid of us, I know) and both ended up severly ill. Paradiso is a nice restaurant with pretty good table services in a very quaint location of the village in downtown Burlington. They have nice decor and ambiance. The menu is not super extensive but it's good. The waiting staff is very friendly and serve well. It's a nice setting to go for a walk after a lunch ot dinner.

What an amazing dining experience we shared with our newly married daughter! The courtyard seating was a pleasant surprise. The drinks and food were delicious and great sized portions. We had to indulge in the desserts as they sounded so yummy. We were not disappointed. Sasha, our waitress, (I hope the spelling is correct), was amazing herself; attentive, bubbly, and very pleasant. Our daughter and her then fiance chose this restaurant in May to celebrate their 25th birthday. The food was great then also and the care and thought that went into this curbside pick up made us decide to try the restaurant in person. My husband and I do not live in Burlington, but we will make the 40 minute drive again to eat at Paradiso.

Absolutely wonderful place for a quiet romantic dinner. staff is extremely helpful and pleasant overall vibe is very nice I recommend this place to everyone that visits Burlington the place can be a little hard to find the first time but that's part of its appeal it's located in a very nice quaint almost area of downtown Burlington.

I gave 2 stars as the service was amazing and our server was great. We tipped very well We ordered a bottle of wine the server suggested we taste it first and-so thankful we loved it. We ordered calamari grilled they were good but disappointed not enough We ordered the pizza as part of our appetizers the pizza was so paper thin. Was not worth the 19 dollars we paid. I ordered the ribs so fatty and the potatoes were over cooked. Not the best I have had it before at the bistro on Elizabeth amazing. The bill was 190 and really can’t justify the amount for what we ate. So sad with covid you would thing the would go the extra mile with their cuisine. Sorry paradiso not to my standard . Too bad I did love the place It my fav pre covid

Unbelievable. Came here for Valentine’s Day and was blown away by everything from the romantic setting, incredible food and amazing service. We shared the bruschetta which was super tasty and I love that we could load our own bread from the mix in the bowl. For the main I had the braised beef gnocchi. This dish made all my dreams come true- absolutely divine, hearty and perfect. I had the creme brûlée trio for dessert and honestly this might have been the star of the show, the chocolate creme brûlée was absolutely to die for, and even though I wasn’t a fan of the strawberry, the chocolate and vanilla were so good it more than made up for it. The service was professional and friendly and our server made an effort to check in on us regularly. I CANNOT wait for my next trip back here, this restaurant is phenomenal.

Came here with a couple friends and the food was good very good, and high quality, however we felt like we were treated like we were eating at McDonald’s, the waiter who was assigned our table was very rude and incompetent. Didn’t feel appreciated but felt as our presence at the restaurant was a burden. The waitress who brought our drinks was very pleasant and would rather her as our server. Can’t believe we still gave a tip. Will not be returning and will be spreading the word... very unfortunate.

My first time here and my goodness is the food ever delicious. It was unbelievably yummy and worth every single dollar. I highly recommend either the phyllo wrapped brie with croustinis or the quinoa and goat cheese salad for appetizer. Those were phenomenal. For an appetizer I had the 12 hour braised beef short rib (pictured) which was fall-off-the-bone tender, juicy and well seasoned. If you happen upon the pork chop special, you need to get it. The pork is delicious but even more so is their gnocchi. Buttery and melt in your mouth goodness. I could go on and on but I can’t wait fo return for a date night. Everything I had was delectable. Bravo!

We've now been to Paradiso twice in the last two weeks and have been very impressed with both the food and service. Both times we wanted something light and we shared a salad and the Margerita Pizza. We were just there to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Despite making a reservation, they put us in a tiny table right next to the back door when the room was not even full. Hopefully this has nothing to do with the fact we are Asian (we are the only visible minority it seems). My trout was ok, son liked his chicken pasta but husband's beef gnocchi was way over-cooked. And we all had upset stomach after getting home. The waiter however was pleasant.

The chef was great, we made some amazing food (:P) but the quantity that was served to us was very little ( I don't have a big appetite either but it was smaller for me too). The server kept on checking for drinks and refills ( they are not cheap, the cost adds up). I ended up spending more than $100... So once again this year I came with my niece for lunch for her birthday and once again the food was delicious. It was a beautiful day to sit outside and enjoy the sun, the food and the service. A pact was made that it will be our annual go to place for her birthday despite the fact that neither of us live in Burlington. lol. I also went back with a friend last week, who does live in Burlington and found out it is his favourite place too. Third time was equally great. Thanks to all who make it so enjoyable! Kudos to the chefs. Spending the day with my niece today for her birthday and I wanted to take her somewhere nice for lunch. i googled suggestions for pasta & seafood as well as good reviews and Paradiso came up. As many people reviewed and raved, the food was very good. My niece loved the seafood stew and I enjoyed the crab cake salad. The outdoor space was nice and it was a beautiful day out. When it came to the food we enjoyed ourselves. We would have stayed for coffee and dessert and I would have given 5 stars, but as many others wrote how they were wowed by the waiter Colin, we were not wowed by ours. He was not friendly or pleasant. He was abrupt and his manner bordered on rudeness. More based on habit, I left a tip. it would have been more if the service was good, but truly he didn't really deserve what I left. The woman who brought our food was friendly and made you feel welcome which was great. Kudos to the chef! Slight damper on an otherwise lovely birthday. Thanks so much Mandy for the reply. We did truly love the food and atmosphere and will definitely go back for another visit. Cheers.

The ding atmosphere is pleasant and I would recommend you ask for a booth. Their cappuccino is excellent and also shared their chocolate torte dessert. I had the pizza and certain topics I was allergic to, they prepared the pizza perfectly and even substituted the items to other items that I wanted free of charge on it. Staff Service: Friendly as ever, I use to go all the time when Chef Wolf I believe his name was, he was super friendly and even came to the table to make sure everything was done to perfection. My date at the time was an extremely picky eater and his meat was done perfectly (which rarely happens when we went out) Price: well worth the price you pay for, the portion size was very enjoyable. the atmosphere, handy classes you can attend. It is definitely something for everyone and it is a great location (close to downtown burlington bus terminal and close to Lakeshore's Spencer Smith Park- approx 5 min walk there) I would definitely be back alone or with company and will definitely recommend for everyone to go here :)
