Quality of food here was excellent. Restaurant has no more than 10 tables as was pretty much full the entire time. Service was decent, each dish is made to order, so it does take a bit of time but is quality you don't expect from an AYCE joint. Salmon and White tuna sushi was soft and delicious, salmon belly was huge, miso was flavorful and the bulgogi was on point. I'll definitely be returning, as this is my new spot.

The employees here are so kind! They remember me and my family. This is definitely my favourite sushi restaurant. The sushi always tastes fresh, and look fantastic. I highly suggest coming here if you are in the mood for sushi. Their other dishes such as soups, dumplings, and spring rolls are also very good.

My overall experience was really good. We ordered "salmon sashimi", "Treasure Island Roll", Green Dragon Roll", "Go Train Roll" which were served in a sushi boat. We also ordered "Kiss ME Roll" and Shrimp Tempura. The rolls were made of fresh ingredients and tasted really good. The only drawback was upon our arrival; Nobody was at the front door/patio to guide us and we went inside and talked to the chef and let them know we're taking the patio seat. Then, it took them a bit to come out and give us the menu. Other than that, the waiting staff was very friendly and helpful when she showed up.

Absolutely perfect Sushi! We ordered take out on a Sunday as soon as they opened at 11:30am in person, and they had it all ready in 25min! And let me tell you we ordered over $100 worth of mostly Maki and Dragon rolls, and they were all so good! I highly recommend this restaurant for anytime you want the best Sushi in town!

If you are looking for all you can eat sushi for cheap this is not the place, but if you want high grade delicious sushi that is always consistent, I can’t recommend a better place than Mikado!

I like that this place is authentic, the food as well as the ambience. There is such a big difference between Mikado and an all you can eat Japanese restaurant. Whatever you get, you should be full. It is a little bit pricey but worth it.

The hostess was the kindest. I loved their Osaka roll, as well as the Uni and most of the Nigiri. That said, I don't recommend getting the Love Boat. It was the price of 4 specialty rolls, and came with items we wouldn't have ordered anyway, like the Sushi Pizza, the tuna and white fish Nigiri, and the too much Sashimi. If we were to go there again, we'd easily take 4 specialty rolls over the Love Boat. I also felt the Sashimi (salmon, tuna and fish) was too cold, and wasn't given enough time to reach room temperature before being served. The BBQ Eel Sashimi was for some reason too chewy, but that's not their mistake as it just lacked enough fat to be melt-in-your-mouth good. I would like to go again and try other dishes before downgrading this review to a 4*. the dining area is also very beautiful, and very fitting to the food being served.

Mikado has been our go-to sushi in Burlington for years! They never sacrifice quality and you always get the freshest ingredients. My standard order is a Dynamite Roll, Green Salad and Tempura. We also love the White Tuna Sushi and Steak Teriyaki. They have something for everyone. If you're looking to get the best bang for your buck try a dinner or lunch special. Special Dinner #5 is a steal!

Mikado Sushi is our go-to downtown Burlington. Sometimes we go once a week! Head Chef, John, is so friendly and when it's not too busy, he comes to our table to chit chat. The sashimi dinner SS10 offers 18 pieces and is great value and it's always so fresh. I personally LOVE their seafood udon because their clear broth is always so flavourful and full of delicious seafood. Try their lobster tempura appetizer, it's just ????

Had an order pick up at Mikado today! The place is cozy and clean. Gives you a different type of vibe and amazing. We placed the order ahead of time and said we need to pick it up within an hour. We got there an hour and half, unfortunately the food is not yet prepared and we had to wait another 15-20mins. The platter prepared was good though! Good for sharing.

Food wise it's one of my favourite places, however, customer service wise.... That's another story. I understand that they are a smaller restaurant, however, it always feels like they want us to quickly eat our food and leave. Like, they're constantly watching us as we eat and almost want us to scarf down the food. Also, there's a guy who works at the back and sometimes brings the food out to your table. Ive had to deal with him a few times and each time was not very pleasant. He's rude and abrasive most times and what be doesnt understand is, is that some people know Korean. Countless times I've heard him say horrible and make unprofessional remarks. It's disappointing because my friends and I love the area and the food but each time the service is just... Not the greatest.

The indoor area is extremely small but I didn't mind that too much. The sushi I tried was okay, not bad but not worth the price (quiet high) tbh. The staff are very nice and friendly and the food didn't take too long to be served. I would maybe visit again for something small but definitely not worth going too often.

I don't know why I put off trying Mikado for so long, when I came here I had the Dolsot bibimbap (DB4) which was fantastic, I would definitely recommend putting some of the sauce that they bring in the yellow mustard bottle on it because it's really good. The beef tasted like beef that had been barbequed with a sweet sauce and was delicious and the rest of the accompanying vegetables were cut perfectly and really fresh. The Dolsot bibimbap is one of the best things I have tasted in Burlington in the last year and way above what I expected. I will definitely come back specifically for this dish and also to try everything else. My brother had an assortment of Sushi which he described as really good but lacking in the spiciness factor that he expected given the name but it is inline with japanese spice levels which I would describe as a more intelligent level of spiciness that brings out the other flavors of the dish. The hospitality of the people that work here is also very good, we had a young waitress that was polite and served us nicely, we had our food served to us by who I assume is their chef and he was also very polite and then part way through our meal we had a woman come and ask us how our food was and seemed really happy to hear that our food was delicious. The only downside is I cannot use chopsticks, I wish their tables had forks but I'm sure I could have asked and been given one without issue.

Let me just say that this places uses the freshest fish for sushi that I've had in the GTA (and yes the freshness beats that of some of the expensive sushi places in Toronto). Everything was delicious. The place gets packed after 6:00 PM so make sure you're there earlier or call to reserve a table in advance. And don't worry, they only allow a maximum number of people to ensure as much safety as possible. ???? We ordered the lover's boat that had sashimi, nigiri, 1 roll, and two mini small salmon sushi pizzas, soup, salad (we picked wakame salad (seaweed), and ice cream. Everything was fresh and tasty, however I personally didn't prefer the pizzas at all but my partner loved them. ????Green tea ice cream was very rich and flavorful. ???? Staff was very courteous, fast, and friendly. ???? The decorations were so simple and nice. Lots of posters for the Japanese opera "Mikado". Very nice-looking wagasas (Japanese oil-paper umbrellas) on the walls. Nothing was exaggerated and the atmosphere is very calming. ????Lots of people were also coming in to pick up their orders and the staff there seemed to be organized and fast with the pickup orders.

Visited here during the Sunday "All you can eat" special that they have each week. The food was fantastic and fresh. It was some of the best sushi that I've had in town. Parking can be difficult if the municipal lot across the street is full. The atmosphere is great. Warm and inviting. It was also very quiet when we went, which is a nice change of pace. While the food was fantastic, the service was lacking in a couple of regards. The wait staff was inattentive and did not check on us as often as we felt would be appropriate. There was no offer to refill drinks. It's possible that this is because of the "all you can eat" promotion. The restaurant does impose a time limit, which is not inappropriate when wait staff is not lacking. After we were finished our last order, we waited 30 minutes before the waitress came back to our table. With that being said, the sushi was fantastic, the soup was delicious, and the lemon and spicy chicken dishes were great. I'll be back, hopefully the service will improve.

The staff at Mikado are great, and go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction! We had ordered from Uber Eats, and Uber Eats had messed up the allergy specifications on our order. The Uber driver took NO accountability for it, although it is their job to relay special instructions and verify that their orders are correct. I called the restaurant and they were very apologectic and understanding, and they eagerly rectified the issue. It's unfortunate that I can't say the same for Uber Eats as they are seemingly impossible to contact and do not take responsibility for their errors. That being said I am so thankful for the understanding staff and service at the Mikado! Not to mention the fantastic quality of the food!!

I hate to do this as i have actually been a loyal customer of this restaurant for years!! I actually make the drive from Toronto to eat here. Unfortunately, I'm afraid I won't be returning for the following reasons: 1) i understand that we are all slowly coming out of a pandemic that has been devastating for the hospitality industry. However, what used to be given free of charge here (tea, a side of spicy mayo) now cost $$. Although advised by the server that tea was no longer complimentary, i was not informed that the sides of spicy mayo (which consisted of 1 dollop in a tiny plate) i ordered were $1 each until i saw the charge on my bill. 2) one of my favourite dishes is the Nabe udon. It used to come with 2 shells of green mussels in the soup- that is gone. 3) their rolls used to be delicious and made with a thin wall of rice. The rice is now packed in them to make them seem full. 4) my mom and I arrived at the restaurant at 3pm. We sat down at our table and were told that staff were on break for 20 minutes and that we'd have to wait longer for our food because of this. Overall, I'm not impressed by what this place has become: a money-grabber that cuts corners and doesn't seem to care much for customers anymore. Won't be returning.

I went with my kids, I have a one year old child who is teething, he was a bit cranky, just because he was crying on and off they literally told me with no respect to never come again!!! Who does that? He is just a baby! There was only one customer in the store beside my family. I did apologize for the other customer that my son was loud and he totally understood the situation. When they kicked us out that customer told them how rude they were and he even walked out! Horrible so horrible I am actually so upset! I do not recommend this restaurant at all!!!

Delicious rolls that were not rice-heavy, and pricing is fantastic for the quality of the food. Ordered the spicy roll set for dinner and went home with half of it! It came with a container of soy sauce, ginger, and wasabi. Great additions, and I enjoyed the leftovers just as much as I enjoyed the fresh rolls.

Great place. Has been around forever and still a really good sushi place in downtown Burlington. Usually go for take-out, but the restaurant is still nice and quaint inside. Location is perfect right in village square and a stones throw from other place for an after dinner drink.

Great food! We tried the Green Dragon, the Dolsot Bibimbap, the Kiss Me, and the Go Train roll. Everything was espectacular, so far the best Japanese restaurant in Burlington. Highly recommendable.

Mikado Japanese Restaurant has been a long time favourite with friends and family. They offer cooked meals as well as sushi and sashimi which is excellent. They are able to accommodate food allergies to garlic and gluten. They do a beautiful job and have a wonderful patio and indoor dining area. We’ve visited this restaurant for years for both dine in and take out. The owners and staff and team at Mikado are very pleasant and wonderful hosts.

Wooowwwww this was the BEST joint for real good sushi and sashimi and more! Their steak teriyaki and stir fried udon was good while their rolls were absolutely AMAZING. Sushi and sashimi was so fresh and me as a not-so-big fan of the teriyaki and other cooking plates from Japanese restaurant, was amazed!!! Definately coming back for THE Hawaiian rolls. ????????????❤❤❤❤

My favourite place! Lovely friendly staff and despite trying something new every time I visit, I never had anything that wasn't amazing. Highly recommend the negi toro and the dolsot bibimbap but nothing you will try will be disappointing!

I went with the family for a quick dinner and it was perfect. We shared the Love Boat and it left everyone happy. The fish was fresh with great variety, there was lovely presentation, and the service was kind and welcoming. A very cute cozy spot. We'll be back for sure.

Although the servers' English may not be that good, the delicious and quality food coupled with friendly staff and positive atmosphere will give all customers a wonderful culinary experience.

My family and I went to Mikado Japanese Restaurant over the Victoria long weekend. We were greeted at the door and told us to wait while they cleaned the table for us. While she was cleaning the table for us another lady came to us and told us to sit at another table. We kindly said "it's ok we'll wait for this one" She then got upset and said "three, sit here" and walked away. So, we told the other lady "we'll wait for you to clean the table and we would like to sit here" she then also told us to sit in a crowed area at the small table. By then, my wife and I didn't feel welcomed and thought they were pretty rude. So we ended up leaving to find another Japanese restaurant. We ended up at Itchiban Sushi House. They were very inviting as soon as we walked in. This waitress took some time to make our daughter laugh and even went out of her way to give our daughter a ring pop after dinner. Fyi the food was great! If you're from the burlington area i would definitely recommend this place instead.

If I could give zero stars - I would. Worst customer service ever! The food was terrible and they seemed quiet racist. My friend speaks Korean and understood most of their conversation. We had to wait for a while and were denied patio tables even though we were 2 people and there were at least 3 tables available by the time we wanted to eat. We finally got our food and asked to use one of their tables and they refused. The fish used in my sushi was not fresh either. TERRIBLE!!!

This place is completely over-priced. It took forever for their food to come. And when it eventually came, it taste like nothing special. I’ve been to place where the price is lower and their rolls were bigger and more authentic. So I don’t really plan on going back, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone else. Unless you just want to spend money on something that’s not worth it.

Ordered the $10 'Broiled Scallops' which the picture on the menu looked like baked scallops in a sauce. After hearing the microwave open and close, this arrives at my table. That is a slice of processed cheese microwaved on a scallop. That is disgusting. The waitress only replied 'you knew what you were getting' and refused to take it off my bill. Won't be coming again.

As far as AYCE sushi goes, this place was pretty good. Much better than K&B. Went w/six people on a Sunday at 3pm, place was empty lucky for us because there was only one waitress; it's not a big place, I liked that it was small and cozy. Standout: thick cuts of salmon sashimi and nigiri, kamikaze roll, tropical island roll, dragon roll. Good veggie gyoza. Service was good but as soon as more people came in, it slowed, and the second round of rolls fell apart a little. Overall great all you can eat experience! Note: if you go from 3pm on, it's the dinner menu not the lunch menu.
