A group of us from Lethbridge, were working in Brooks for a while. Unfortunately we came across Gus's towards the end of our hitch. Wish we would have found it sooner. Best home style cooking and service in Brooks. Working out of town we tried almost every restaurant in Brooks and nothing quite compared to the service and quality we recieved here. The waitress in the lounge tended to numerous tables on wing night without any mistakes. She was helpful, friendly and on top of everything. Every visit we noticed that the restaurant seemed sort of empty for it's size. We hope this restaurant does well and that people come across this establishment and recieve the same service and quality food that we did. Don't listen to the negative reviews. This place is in real trouble. Several big red flags here. Food took quite some time to come out. When it did, the buns for the hamburgers were extremely hard & greasy (all 3 of us). Patties were overcooked on 2 of the orders. Our appetizer came out & they had to substitute a bowl for one of the plates since they didn't have enough plates left. There wasn't enough cutlery for our party of 3 when there was only 15 patrons at the time. Place has seating for well over 100. I feel bad for the staff as they were great, but something is definitely off with this place. I'd avoid till they sort things out.

Good place and good food. Held an event here and we were very pleased with the food. Only negative would be the amount of time we had to wait for a server to come around to help us. Outside of this good restaurant and one of the better restaurants in Brooks Alberta. Thanks Gus.

Negative: The pizza crust wasn't good. The 2 of us & I other couple were the only ones who had orders in & it took an hour for our food to come. Positive: The pizza toppings were very good and there was a ton of cheese.

Pub Staff is pretty decent. Everything is way over priced though. $20 for a steak sandwich?!?! Quallity of food is what you would expect from a pub, not a "Steak House" French Onion Soup is pretty good but again, over priced. Menu Items are About $2-$10 more than you would pay at most places.

Nice, clean family restaurant with our friendly and welcoming server, Angela. Good kid's menu (7 yr old said his pizza was the best he's ever had and 5 yr old said his lasagna was "awesome"). I had a good mushroom burger platter. I especially appreciate Angela's helpfulness, particularly where my little people were concerned. The restrooms were clean. This is a great place to take the kids.

Was told the coffee was fresh yet the powdered creamer clumped so ... I doubt it Prices went significantly higher and the service as well as the food left a lot to be desired. I've stopped here numerous times in the past but in the future I shall pass!

Afternoon drop in, it's a sweet lounge, old school, with craft beers, to go in a growler. The vlts are hidden and molested due to that fact. The website menu is a bit confusing but they did their best to arrange a cab during rush hour. Jay's cab is garbage who hung up on us I recommend BROOKS TAXI. They got the craft beers from great West coast brewers. I'll be back 1000%

Went there on my way back from Edmonton. Not a big fan of chains so I always try to find local diners, bars or restaurants. Place was empty except one customer. So everything was quick and good. Would go again.

From the minute we walked in the door the girl at the front gave us a choice as to where to sit dining room or lounge.. Then proceeded to say they are a bunch of screaming kids are in the dining room you may not want to sit there and it's pretty full. So we peeked into the dining room and 3 tables were in use and it was quiet. So we chose the dining room. We sat down and the waitress came and I ordered a tea they didn't have any other kind of tea but red rose. Everything we tried to order they didn't have.. The prices were utrageous. We left.. And won't ever go back. ... We ate at Montana's!! And it amazing. I do not recommend this place at all...Ps.. My tea cup was dirty and was housing a hair.. Lovely!!

Good food, but it took so long for it to get to the table, I swear a global ice age came and went while the hubs and I waited. I mean, I like the guy well enough, but we've been together for more than 20 years so having to make conversation for over 3/4 of an hour while Cookie made our sandwiches put the whole deal in jeopardy. Not sure what the hold up was in the kitchen, but judging by the effusive apology the server gave to the couple seated at the next table for the length of their wait, I'd say the stink-eye was going around Gus's Steak House tonight. Oh, well... Like I said, the food was tasty, so we might drop again some time--when we're not in a hurry.

Should have known it would be bad when we arrived at dinner time and we were the only ones in the restaurant. There is a restaurant and lounge and the waitress was also the bartender. She did a decent job and was quite friendly, but service was understandably slow as a result. Pizza was good (I had the donair pizza), but overall the food here is incredibly expensive and certainly not worth where it's being process at! For less money you'll get better food at Boston Pizza.

Terrible steak was over done and all fat .ceasar salad dressing was horrible fake bacon bits . The server admitted the cook was off and they had someone that doesn't know how to cook fill in - my god you should just close the kitchen. My beer was warm.Stay away go to McDonald's. At least they care about the quality of food they serve.

We waited for about 10 minutes to get seated and no one was in the dining room. The waitress was nice enough but seemed somewhat aloof. When I ordered deep fried ribs I didn't realize I was going to pay $12.99 for a bowl of bones!! We asked for hot sauce for our wings but it ended up coming when we had one left. The baby back ribs tasted ok but looked terrible. My steak was rare not medium as I ordered and it didn't have much flavor. For $24.99 you'd think it would have been better. Even the yam fries were not as tasty as other places. No green onions for my baked potato and the tossed salad was just lettuce. Just lettuce. Next time we'll stick to their pizza because we know that is good.

It was a pretty solid disappointment. At first I was annoyed because the server appeared to staking her orders ( when the server collects a bunch of orders and enters them all at once flooding the kitchen) and then I realized the poor chick was new on a holiday/ wing night. So we ordered uber quick and easy food from the fryer to help a sister out. Despite this it still took and hour and a half to compete the service. I was told by a local to call my order in before I get there next time as this is typical. Seems to be a bit more trouble than it's worth.

Waitress was terrible, forgot to ring in the appetisers, and when our food come, dismissively/ snotily asked if we still wanted them. Didn't bother to inform us that the menu prices were not accurate and that our food plates would be an additional $4. Pathetic. The pizza was soggy!!!!!!!!!!

Our server, Nicole, gave terrible service. Didn't even check on us once to see how our meal or drinks were. We waited over half an hour for our food after we placed our order. And the prices for what you get are ridiculous. Pasta was watery. Ham sandwich was made with processed ham and just a processed cheese slice, couldn't even use real cheese. Will not be back and would not reccomend to anyone.

Barely dressed waitress who swore, had to be asked for cutlery and napkins, and was just ask around unprofessional. The restaurant was clearly understaffed. My sandwich was good but my yam fries were very burnt (not worth having to pay the full $4.50, the full price of a side of yam fries, instead of just paying a small upgrade price from the regular price of the meal). Not a place I'll ever go back to. Pricey and unprofessional.

Ordered a "Guszone" (I hope that I spelled it correctly" on the waitress recommend. If you go there - don't order it. Just thick undercooked pizza dough with lots of cheese inside and very little meat.The meat looked like processed chicken. Hard to tell. Caesar side salad was just okay. My companian ordered a chicken sandwich with fries. Said it was good. Waitress was bubbly but didn't blind an eye when I told her not to recommend it again. (Maybe she was told to push it). Not impressed.

The food was delicious and fresh if you don't mind waiting a long time. However, the place smelled like natural gas. When we walked in we mentioned the gas smell and they said that was "normal." I had a headache and the smell of gas only made it worse. I gave it 3 stars cause of the gas smell and the length of time it took to get the food. Food wise would get 5 stars.

Needs an update. Food in genera is not bad, but the pizza is very good. I have tried this place around 4 times while in town, service has been decent up until the last visit. The waitress in the bar side was very over the top, in your face, loud unorganized and just all around bad. I will not be back.

the food seemed like it was presented by a toddler as it looked terrible and looked like they tried to make the food as fast as possible to get it out. the hot wings weren't tossed with hot sauce like we ordered. This is also the first restaurant that ive been to that actually charges extra for mayonnaise which is crazy. the waitress was very rude and kept giving dirty looks and was obviously in a very negative attitude. the only upside is we got refill 5min after they were empty.

Love Gus'! Gus himself is a great guy, he's funny and super friendly. His pizza is to die for, and his Guzones are so good! The chicken alfredo one is bomb.
